Iwobi has done well for a young player, i don't get why u keep bringing is name up, it sounds like u are just kicking him while he is down. Also Lewandowski didn't have to sit on the bench to learn anything.
even at that iwobi is still making bench list...
but nacho many a time he is omitted which shows how he is under rated
nacho kind of player is a rare gem.

a player who could swiftly progress from under 17 to play professional age football within the space of 3 years..
it shows hardwork, talent and lot's more having been raised in Africa settings where there are no structures....
I believe the young man has so much to offer

even rashford is getting more game time than nacho

iheanacho market value has dropped cos of no game time

and oga Joe wants him to remain at city grin
seriously... rashfold yesterday was a thorn on the flesh of Chelsea defenders
I could not believe a 19 years old lad could wreck such defenders....

he is getting better by every game time he gets...

the English FA I believe is doing very well protecting their young lads ensuring they get game time...likewise liggard whom I know if he was a non English player...he won't have even make match day squad

because they understand the significance of getting play time and here sir goodjoe want nacho to learn drills..

iheanacho is older than mbappe yet no game time for iheanacho..

by your logic ...mbappe should b on the bench because he is young

Oga Joe just listen to yourselfgrin
and learn how to track back to defend...

that's the drilling coach desire of a striker..
even mourinho that play defensive football don't require so much of a striker...likewise conte

Watch Firmino play the nine role and watch Nacho play it, there is so much difference. Watch Mbappe and Gabriel Jesus track back and watch Nacho, you will see the difference.

When Nacho adds this to his locker, we will see pure brilliance. The young man can get it right.
sir goodjoe...nacho is different, he is unique in his class... he doesn't need to be moulded to suit pep philosophy... if the drilling coach thinks he lacks want he want in a striker...then let him be loaned or sold to those who want what he(nacho) has....

last season...which was his debut season... the young lad has 13 goals ...amidst his sub role and has the highest goal scored per minute ratio...

please answer this question... has any of those pep has moulded and desires achieved such feet?

pep is simply a perfectionist
he want players to play as robot... he should keep dreaming...
nacho is already a bunch of talent...an exceptional lad SS and CF rolled into one....

The question is, Does Guardiola still have interest in Nacho? If he does, Iheanacho leaving will prove difficult. Iheanacho still has to learn that fluid movement upfront. I did not watch the last game but the other against Hull, Iheanacho moved better. The fact was that it was in a 4-4-2 formation and Nacho already plays the support striker role well.

The challenge is transferring such movement to his nine role. I honestly believe if Nacho gets this, he will become an excellent player. Aguero learnt it perfectly and Iheanacho can.

I say he stays one more season as a Citizen.
I don't understand you...well I know somehow you're conservative and possibly a phlegmatic.
reasonable who will need a player and ruin his career by letting him out of the match day squad people must not always tell you....all things but their actions towards you are words you have got to decode

your tense obsession with pep and his obsolete tactics is really making you biased

you see young lads every time making waves in teams like Monaco, dybala in juventus, rashfold in man utd etc....
and you keep saying nacho should keep learning even when he is deliberately omitted from the match day squad...

please tell your pep....my nacho is already a talent all he needs is game time to display his potentials....nonsense coach..
I wish I could even lay my hands on him..it will be disastrous...

I totally support iheanacho going to a German league team that will guarantee him playing time and using that as a spring board to move to a bigger club as a more mature and trusted player like de bruyne did and chicharito might,
As for Onyekwuru Dortmund is a great team to play for even from the bench, Because they have excellent succession planning, and they will only buy him if they really have plans to use him, not this go for every striker available nonsense guardiola is doing.
yeah I prefer him moving to a German or even a French team like Monaco than playing in some EPL teams....it is a know fact that the drilling coach will not let him go to a rival team

I applaud this effort by the LMC and NFF.... BUT PLSSS WE NEED MORE PUBLICITY FOR THIS KIND OF TOURNAMENT. We wanna know our future soccer stars from the cradle.... and more than that.... we wanna make our football more marketable and more dependable again for the world to see that age-cheating in Nigeria is dying drastically.... and will be buried for good soon enough.
the question now is...what are NFF plans for this kids after the tourney
so sad we have no under 17 coach
we must not let this talents go waste....

sometimes I wonder what are these corporate organizations social responsibility in this country
can't a bank or telecommunication coy take up the sponsorship of these tournament? so painful even the sport minister know not his responsibility

it is so painful we won't be participating in this year under 20 world cup...so believe we could have gone far in the tourney and stars will be discovered and absolved in the SE

to be true if less than 20% of Nigerians who reside in Europe could produce players we all clamouring for their inclusion in SE... how much more the 80% back home...

the problem we have been having is mismanagement...think they're more good players in Nigeria than diaspora

The problem is we relied heavily on Echiejile at LB. When he got injured we had to settle for Oshaniwa who didnt do badly eventually. Same happened at Right Back. As soon as we discovered Balogun, he also got injured before the WC. You see, we deserve to have our best options regardless of age. but the Taiwo I know in his prime is not a good left back IMO. Good Left midfield? yes. In fact I will play that taiwo as a left-wing back in a 3-4-3 formation. Right now, I doubt he can still compete at that level.
you wrote true..
I still remember the words he vomited during keshi early days as SE manager..
which made him shut the doors on him in the SE setup and also his confession regarding SE bizarre outing at the RSA 2010 world cup...
moreover will he accept the leadership of lads like onazi in the SE ?
abeg we should scout for quality left back...and move ahead

We have younger players who have potential who seem to have promise. But that's what it really is just unproven promise.

We can reel off a list of players from U17 to U20 who won multiple accolades at youth level but didn't deliver. You can't be a mouse a non entity in your club and hope to become a lion in the SE. It's not likely to happen.

Lukman Haruna, Rabui Ibrahim, Chrisantus, Stanley Okoro, the list is endless of promising young players who never delivered the promise they showed to us.

There are many others currently young promising but not able to deliver. The SE is not a place to take a chance. You earn your chance not by supposition or the assumption of promised potential. But putting in good quality performances in your home club.

In reality some of these players have had thier chance to play in Europe but have not been able to deliver. Ndidi, Onyekuru and other have delivered that's why they are being courted by the creme de La creme of the top clubs in Europe.

But if you are in Portugal playing youth football sorry you are not ready for the SE. If you are playing in a moi moi league in Bosnia sorry you are not ready.

Currently Taiwo is playing in the Swiss league which is rated much higher than the Nordic leagues. I don't expect him to be invited just like that. But if he is putting in good quality performances then he should be considered. Currently, outside of Echiejile who is clearly better than him amongst our possible LB options.
in that swiss league we have Manuel akanbi...currently play for Basel Fc. a 19 years old a goal scoring defender as well...
I will rate him higher...rather we call him up.
they're a lot of untested potentials u will never know how good they're until you give them a chance....
I tell u they're lot of good players in npfl that can outclass him in that team....
but they never get the chance...like etebo would have been wallowing in north Africa now if not for the Nigerian that owns the club where he plays...

I will rather we invite an home base player than start fighting for the call of a defender in his 30s.
we still have elderson, Kingsley madu, and lots more. they should be groomed

I think the real question is, what is his current form? can he compete with the available left-backs? We are talking about the national team now. Even SOME 39 year olds can still compete at a high level.
anyone who watched the 2014 world cup matches will agree most of the damages all came from the wings....especially the group phase...
and now calling for the inclusion of a left back in his 30s...
we still have idowu and others not yet tried..more so I am optimistic Nigeria will go far in next Chan that's an opportunity for inclusion of some home based lads to break into the SE

I really have no idea how old Taiwo really is. However, the question is not pertinent. What we should be asking what kind of performances is he able to put in top quality or mediocre.

I remember Taribo West, has there been an older player that played at such a high level for Nigeria. I mean this guy must have been 40+ when he was running down the right wing faster than teenagers amazingly playing for Partizan Belgrade. He was still putting in top performances amazingly.

Now look at Obagoal performance in the MLS and also in the Chinese league, consistent performance.

Yakubu is now taking the biscuit, he must be close to 50 and he cannot perform at all. The issue is performance not age.

But consider not the age but the current performance. For goodness sake how old is Ibrahimovichuh Yet top goal scorer for United and among top goal scorers in the EPL.

Ndidi is performing wonders but we also know he failed an MRI scan. However it is irrelevant whether he is 19 or 25 he is performing.

If Fortune Chukwudi had not been exposed he would probably be playing in Europe and we don't know how far he could have gone.

If we are to examine all our players who will come away unscathed on this issue of age cheating the majority or a small minority.

So let's forget age. I was talking to a Nigerian international some years ago. Who was complaining to me about boys who he had played with before he left Nigeria. Only to see these players reinvent themselves as young players and come into the SE set up.
of a truth what is he going to bring to the SE?
we have young players of Nigeria heritage all littered across Europe and America...yet not given a chance...of a truth even players from the domestic league...will prove better. and now you clamouring for the inclusion of a player in his 30s playing no league better than the ignored young lads all because of his performance of yesteryears...

sir we're talking of winning the world cup come 2022 and using the Russia 2018 for exposure of these lads.....

That is the way government is run in Nigeria. We need private investment in clubs. The government owned clubs should be sold to people willing to invest. All these people hiding money in apartments should find good use for the money.
I keep saying this clubs should be auctioned out of given to the corporate organisations the NFF duty should just be to regulate the league affairs...

calling for joint running of these clubs by corporate bodies and the government will not make headway... reason because of the corrupt nature of the government... which will discourage these organisations

If we can be talking about someone who couldn't cut it in the Turkish league and ends up in the Bosnian league and we are calling him a future prospect.

Then why not a proven, tested and experienced professional at the highest levels. After all at what age did Maldini retire as a left back for Milan and Italy.

Why not Taiwo, considering we invited at least four players who were injured or just recovering from Injury and bench warmers in thier respective teams.
let's be sincere with ourselves... how old do u think is Taye taiwo?

So what then is the essence of the tourney if our cadet coaches are not part of it.

There is no way the next U17 coaches will not be part of the NPFL U15 tourney in particular.

They may only be involved in the final stages of the secondary schools U15.

I recall our pioneer Golden Eaglets (then U16) were picked from secondary schools. Nduka Ugbade, Jonathan Akpoborie, Imama (i no sabi spell his surname) and co.

There is also an U15 national inter secondary schools competition involving over 100 schools. I heard about it on brila fm but no date was stated.
