He said he was considering four strikers for d AFCON. The most he will pick is 3 ..

Ighalo is the only one whose spot is 100% guaranteed... because Onuachu scored against Egypt doesn't mean he has gotten a ticket there. anything can still happen...
forget it...
baring any changes...this 3 strikers already sealed their spot
*Ighalo
*Oshimen
*Onuachu
* up for grab...any of Nancho/Success can still get this

On Rohr....
he have tried even though he has shortcomings, that shows he is human. You see, I don't like blaming players or coaches simply because playing and coaching ain't easy as we see it or better still watch it on TV. majority of guys here blaming Rohr,if given the SE WC squad can't qualify from a group comprising crown FC ,Sunshine stars and Remo stars.
The only option now is for NFF to retire Salisu Yusuf and bring in Unknown but proven tactically astute coach maybe from our league. This will complement and strengthen Rohr's weakness.
o pari
God bless you, i reduced the way i criticize coaches during my NYSC i was the Platoon team coach.... then i know coaching a team is never easy, my team was so defensive minded and disciplined but scoring goals was a big problem, at a point i was clueless on what to do..... though we later manage to come out 4th but mehn that sojourn wasn't easy many of the forward line were not discipline, you will tell them something and they will go do another thing in the field.
Lolllls*

please that Enyimba Coach should be drafted in to edge out Sanusi.... immediately

Have you ever compared the salaries our local coaches receive to what Rohr is currently earning? And have you ever checked if Rohr has had to work for at least 6months without pay since he came on? I do not support bribe in any form, but if our local coaches earn well and on time, I dont think they'd need to take bribe.
prior now rohr was owned for some months without pay....

Nigerian coaches...many of them are corrupt even should you pay them money accruing to milions...
remember keshi and adebayo sanga when he was the coach of Togo. many of this westerwolf boys believe they can still get egunge from their players signings.... which is now corruption unlike before. ..

I will agree that he's the best for the Super Eagles simply because of the support and the respect he receives from the NFF. Would the NFF accord similar treatment to an indigenous coach? Not a chance!

Yes, some ICs have been accused of egunje and the likes but did we bother to ask ourselves why they resort to such underhanded means? Isn't that simply because they are trying to survive?? The NFF is in habit of owing ICs 6 months or more salary. So how do you expect these men to feed their familieshuh I would like for the NFF to pay our ICs coaches their salaries on time (as they do with these foreign coaches) and give them freehand to select players, then let's see if our local coaches are not good enough.

O pari
you've not heard on how the NFF owned rohr salaries running into months....?
The old dude even debunked it on several occasions that he is not hungry and with some of his job in Africa in Africa he was not even paid self. ...

you forget that he pays his foreign assistants from his salaries...

yusuf with #5m monthly salary still went to take bribe.... just to include players who were already good enough to make his team. ...

I doubt if he was not well taken care of...

many Nigerians are corrupt...we need to stop painting the truth.... many Nigerians greed will never let them to be contended with that they have got..
even the last time Siasia and oliseh wrote players like leon and troost ekong off... especially oliseh...he brought Obafemi out from retirement and one unknown sylvester simply because they are his brother protégé. ..and Siasia has his boys too..
same with keshi who gave an unknown player the iconic No 10 jersey to wear....this men were all allowed to pick their squad....and what next? corruption raised its ugly head...

rohr is not too sentimental...and moreover he is not a Nigerian let alone we accuse him of being tribal....
so please this man has done well for himself and nigeria....just that he act like a coward sometimes

I'm talking about how Mikel helped us win games.

Since we lost, player rating doesn't matter.

Who cares about that, the fact still remains that Croatia were the second best team at the tournament and we were one of the worst. We crashed out..we lost simple!!!!! Player raying or not we couldn't even make the second round
so you expect Mikel to swindle the magic wind when the rest players where poor in the field of play...
e.g ighalo who missed a seater against Argentina.

mind you we were not the only ones who failed to make the round of 16...so what's the need for the cry?

c'mon just say you don't want Mikel in the team and stop beating round the bush. ...

please provide me with the Super Eagles players rating for the Iceland and Croatia game...and let's talk on Mikel relevance.

please do...I am waiting.

No proper evidence to back up your claims while a member of Rohr’s crew was caught on camera receiving bribe to field players.

You do not know how good Amunike is but from the reactions of the Tanzania players and the way his former players like Osimhen who credit their growth to Amunike, Amunike is definitely a great man manager.

Either way, you can give Rohr his props without running down another.
I am not running down anyone....
I vividly remember the tangle he had with the academy that birth nacho.... with the management of nwakali player rights. ...

I remember how the academy boss claimed amunike forced the latter player to sign for his(amunike) academy with the threat to be left out of the squad...

let me tell you he can't try that poo in Tanzania they're already short of talents so...trying that will amount to failure.... but trust them to mess up when coaching the Eagles. ..because even the players coming to bribe them are somehow still okay and as such won't raise eyebrows...

Yusuf bribe scandal revealed the obvious greed that exist in the stomach of our indigenous coaches....

You see....I agree with all you said except that part of winning by at least 2 goals every match. AFCON games will be very defensive. And knowing Rohr, he will be contented to take a 1:0 win even of it means UA defensing for the greater part of each game
you see a midfield with Mikel,Ndidi/Ajayi and Iwobi with fast wingers like musa and Henry/Simon/Chukwueze/Kalu will always take teams on fast counter attack even when they're protecting a lead...

if you watch the Cameroon match in Uyo you will know what I am talking about...

And it is Siasia you want to replace him??
even though I don't like some things about the German. .. the man is the best for the Super Eagles at this time.... where we have young nigeria players springing up everywhere...
he is the only man amongst our many coaches...that' can give players equal opportunities to play...
he is a good man someone like amunike will turn the Super Eagles to egunge era of Keshi where players will have to grease palm prior their call up and we will end up loosing lot of foreign born players.
He should stay in Tanzania please...though he is better and more tactical compare to rohr but in terms of management and fairness....rohr is the best.

Bro, agreed but what happened in the run-up to the WC and the WC proper? Why couldn't we simply pass the ball around and create enough chances even with Mikel on the field? Did the magic simply vanish? Why couldn't the players congenial locker room translate to cohesion on the field of play? What simply happened? Why were we disgraced despite the hype, the unprecedented support?
you see this rohr team....they're perfect ĺocal champions they can perfectly win Africa teams but when they face European or south America teams they fumble....
my hope is that they will be playing AFCON with all Africa oppositions.... they've only lost to RSA...so far.
Rohr team flex their muscles on Africa teams easily and pee on their pants when they play non-africa teams....

like I said earlier.... with a good defense back up,having iwobi and Mikel in the midfield will birth not less than 2 goals for the SE in every match...come this AFCON

Sudan Vs Nigeria
First Leg 5th June, second Leg 9th June, 2019. Perfect end of season timing. So we unleash our full foreign based squad once again. AFCON does not start until 2 weeks after the second leg. So Rohr can as well borrow us some of his boys again wink

No mercy. grin
We learnt from the mistake of Libya first leg.
I tell you.... you don't pity oppositions.
I am so happy with the robust relationship that exist between the under 23 backroom staffs and the Super Eagles coaches....

we need to explore this players age for the Super Eagles and the under 23 team...

Rohr and Imama should create a pool of 40-48 players to always draw from including foreign born kids that wanna play for us like maja, eze, Okafor etc and can as well make deletions and additions to the list...

Oga, I will not blame rohr for not taking Mikel because I have never really been a huge fan if the guy. I feel his creativity is overrated.... Yes i said so.

I'm not saying it because we beat Egypt...remember during the WC friendlies were people blamed Mikel absence for costing us. During the WC proper, Mikel featured and there was no difference. There still was no creativity in the midfield. We lost 2 games because of this despite his presence. So yes, I say again that Mikel is one man who is past his prime and his addition may make no difference until he proves otherwise in a competitive match.

Thanks egbon
you make me laugh... please go tell this to Middlesbrough fans...
haven't you seen his play recently in the championship?
didn't you see his magic wind during the World cup qualifier against super Africa oppositions... Cameroon and Co. .
which major Africa opposition are you asking of again?
with Mikel and iwobi in the midfield there will be so much creativity for the 3 forward line to explore.

then Ndidi/Ajayi can hold the pivot 4 position...
iwobi as AM
Mikel as CM.

with this we will always score not less than 2 goals in any match in afcon...

You'ld know what to expect from Egypt and the rest but a country with insane level of motivation like them would be hard to beat, especially as a first match
you have a point there as regard Madagascar...
if we are to play Madagascar in all important match where a win is necessary....we will beat them to pulp
I just want us to play Egypt in our group or Ghana. ...

then two light opponents...

We want to keep bringing Super Eagles to Asaba – Okowa

Friday, March 22, 2019 5:05 am

Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State

Tonobok Okowa, the Chairman of Delta Sports Commission, says the state will be delighted to continuously have the Super Eagles play their matches in Asaba.

Okowa told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Asaba that the team’s handlers seemed comfortable with the Delta capital city’s hosting capabilities and facilities.

“The state government has not influenced it in any way.

“The choice of Asaba by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) may be out of the fact that the state has successfully hosted other international matches and that the facilities are good.

“The state government has not really done any form of pushing to continue to host the matches in Asaba, but if the state has the option, it will grab it.

“We want to keep bringing them (the Eagles) back because we want to always put the stadium into use and our people love to have them here,’’ he said.

The Delta sports official pointed out that Asaba was well situated and bordered by states such as Edo, Anambra and several others.

“I guess the NFF loves what we have here and the first time we ever hosted an event for them was the Aiteo Cup.

“I am sure they (NFF) loved the turnout of people and the crowd was overwhelming. This may be why they are coming back.

“The city’s location is strategic and I know that they will always want to use this place and we will be obliged to be giving it to them at all times,” he said.

Okowa assured that every arrangement to successfully host the three international matches slated for Friday and next week at the Keshi Stadium had been concluded.

He added that they expected to have a surge of spectators.

“Here, we are talking about two international matches between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Seychelles coming up on Friday, the Super Eagles’ friendly with Egypt and the Nigeria Under-23 team’s fixture against Libya next week.

“We want people to come out and cheer them, but we guess we will have a surge. However, we have put mechanism in place to control the crowd and the traffic will be put under check throughout the period of the match.

“We have a good security architecture in place to manage the situation,” he said.
