He would adapt to it, physicality is not everything in football
just hope so..... I remember watching nigeria and libya on one occasion the Libya defender used his body to edge him out easily

I think they should take this MRI earlier not when the coach is done training the kids

I even think they should take the test upon reporting for camp
they have done it before prior the under 17 WAFU tourney.... just that CAF insist on another test prior the under 17 world cup.....
so painful the captain of the team managed to scale through the first only to fail the later....

I had seen this problem arising a long time ago
it happened with manu garba and his team some years back....
since then I believe every reasonable coach ought to have a plan B... over reliance on some foreign based players and their failure to show up for the team camping early enough partly cost the team so much in that new zealand tourney

With our last two games, Onyekuru has made a bold statement as a member of that team.
but I still fear for the lad physique and stamina when it comes to Africa football...
anyway no hard feelings tho..Samuel Chukwueze cam be dropped to the Under 20

Too bad. So none of the newly included players failed the test?
sure now... the Lateef Omo guy I mean the feyernood kid and the Chelsea lad are obviously 14 years old.
just so painful but I trust him and his backroom staffs to scale through the hurdle

The best thing for Chukwueze is to go and play the U20 world cup, country football is different from club football, he has played only 45 minutes for the Super Eagles in a friendly match, if he goes to AFCON he would mostly play as an impact substitution, which may reduce his impact, he also just has a season of top flight football under his belt. Mbappe who he is being compared to,had two seasons of top flight football before taken to the world cup. Chukwueze is a very high quality player no doubt and am writing this as one of his biggest fans
at last I agree with these yr assertion...but will the lad be released by his club?
considering the fact that at the time the WYC will kick off is same period the La Liga will be in hot stage especially for the top 5 bottom teams and top 5 top teams.....

Have Ogunbote and Maikaba handled any youth team before

I remember how people was praising Aigbogun as Enyimba boss calling him saying that he had western refined way of thinking

Three months later the same people are calling for his head
Ogunbote has won much in his lifetime compared to the under 20 coach...

what has Aigbogun won all his life?
mind i doubted his employment right from the onset because when you see a serious person you will know...

Defend him for what?

This is U-20 team not U-17 team you have to start scouting from kindergarten academic teams. So, there should be decent players in a major league or second division that have acquired little experience enough to play at the the U-20 level which I don't know because I have not been monitoring players these days. That's the reason I asked him if he knows a better player so that we can start putting them into light here since we were told NFF officials are here

I would have come hard on you but I will forgive you today hoping you restrict your tribalistic views to yourself.

The next time you try this again you will hate yourself. I hope you understand.
Today is friday, i wanna have a cool weekend please, odn't wanna have any e-fight today.
but still from my post/comment what was my offence Mr. Fighter?

if you are employed for the Job you will do better because that will be your means of livelihood.

you will put in so much commitment into it, many in the academics are still within the age of 18-19 years old. michael just called into the team was discovered in like manner, can't he do same ?

This man is a round peg in a square hole, it won't fit

I would not use the words " DISGRACING YOURSELF " in coming to a conclusion about Villarreal you must consider the descriptiive terms, present continous.

Since La Liga season has got to a start, Villareal have CURRENTLY, CONTINOUSLY, CONSISTENTLY, CONSPICUOUSLY, remained all season in the relegation zone.

What does that tell you ❓ They lack the quality to compete as well as the hard €€€ £££ to mix it with the big boys. I am sure they didn't spend anywhere near as much as Fulham Fc, that you compared them to erroneously.

You are misrepresentating my position with regards to the Championship. What l have said is that the lower segment of La Liga is on par or lower with the higher segment of the Championship.
The problem with you is that your mindset and reasoning when it comes to football is so parochial and limited
so sorry i said that... i mean no insults, you have said it severally that you watch mainly only the english football because you live in england then instead of you learn and be humble enough to let others who are more broad and holistic in the matters of football teach you with their vatse football knowledege you begin to act as if the little knowledge you have defines all....

how well do yo know of the spanish and other european countires leagues and football? obviously Andrew and many here know better than you but probably you know english football than them. Football is beyond the few english leagues you know, learn bro

Can you please drop names of good players that are eligible for the U-20 team?
i know you will come defend the lazy ass coach....
can't he scout for players all the academies around the country ?
was it not his mate that discovered awoniyi, nancho and others....?
what is topping him from harnessing nigeria foreign born all over the world and scouting good nigeria academies
for talents.... you can't tell me he won't find reasonable lads and as well infuse the foreign born into the team

The coach is clueless that's it there were many qualified men that would have done the job better
peeps like ogunbote, maikaba, finidi etc....

Bravo!! This is the kind of commitment we need from those Foreign born players. Not all those ones that will be embarrassing the country up and down. Imagine rejecting English call up 5times because of naija.

A great future awaits you Adrian Akande Jare kiss. Welcome to the Green White Green.
the only problem and cog in the wheel of our football progress now...Is the lazy under 20 coach..... who is so lazy in scouting for talents.
someone like Samuel ought not to be in that team that slot should have been used to unearth another player of unique qualities...by so doing creating for us a pool of players....

I think he got the U20 coaching job due to working under Pinnick when he was the coach of Warri Wolves
you see what man know man has caused....
he was never qualified for that job... the NFF should have leave amunike with that job or employ Finidi instead..... such role need someone who is good in scouting and discovering players.

Oyinbo wall dey sabi get respect for big opponent
you guys are funny... the only partnership that came close to
ekong and leon partnership is omeruo and obaobona partnership.

tell me something else, i can't remember a partnership like that of the two light guys
ever in Nigeria...all through the world cup qualifications this guys conceded least number
of goals..i have ever witnessed. if you mention odia and abbey self i go hear not one shittu

Shittu is not as good as Ekong or Balogun he was big and hefty but he was confused on the ball and made a lot of mistakes

There was a reason he didn't play in the top level
add ball control...dude lacked it.
he was a traditional borough player who believe and delight in kick and rush football...
any where belly face football

Nostalgia makes us remember people fondly

That's why most will say that Bartholomew Ogbeche or Aghaghowa was better than Ighalo
For Aghahowa i will agree...
Aghawonder is miles ahead of Ighalo... i doubt Ighalo can score that goal against Sweden in 2002 world cup.

i watched both players kicked the ball... Aghahowa was a goal machine

No be every thing dem tell you you dey agree
abeg leave them.... as if i never watched shittu play.
same shittu who was only good enough for championship teams.

same way i spoil my eyes read many here say none of the
present crop of super eagles players will make the 1994 Team.
if the 1994 team was so good why didn't them win the world
cup..?
sometimes we just say things as if the rest of us never watched this
guys play....... you can say they are quite much better and cohesive
but to say none 0f the present players will make the 1994 team makes
no reason.

No this is a different case. There are people here that are ready to raise other African countries to high heavens and underrate Nigeria. See how they painted Cameroon ahead of the WCQ grin grin. O boy nothing wey we no hear for here.

For instance also the way Nigerians that have visited Ghana painted the country you will think it is another England grin. Lo and behold on my first visit there I found out that Accra is not much different from some of our state capitals. If you listen to some people you will think Nigeria is the worst place on Earth. We have this terrible habit of not appreciating our own.
thanks egbon I was so surprised when I saw some peeps here shivering after the AFCON seeding. ...
I can beat my chest any day anytime there is no team in Africa that is not beatable by the Super Eagles. ...

I have absolute faith in the Super Eagles. .... and the players can do wonders if they humble themselves enough.
