PoliticsGov Fubara And One Year Of His Signature In Rivers By Nath Odili by Hunter2009(op): 7:21am On Jun 10, 2024
Gov Fubara And One Year of His Signature in Rivers

By Nath Odili

Going by the recent comment by His Excellency, Siminalayi Fubara, Executive Governor of Rivers State that his administration started in February 2024, it would be right to say that he's just four months old in office. However, the record books won't accept such a position. This is not the first time such is happening in Rivers State.

It would be recalled that in 2007, Rt. Hon Rotimi Amaechi took over the mantle of leadership when his colleagues in other States were already 5 months into their tenure. He had to forfeit the time spent by his immediate predecessor, Chief Celestine Omehia for peace to reign and by May 29th 2011, it was assumed or believed that Amaechi had spent 4 years in office, when in a real sense, he had three and a half.

The case of Governor Fubara is peculiar, though. Unlike Amaechi, Fubara was in office but not in power. While he was there as the figurehead, the levers and fulcrum of power resided somewhere else and being wielded, controlled, manipulated and exercised by someone who stayed miles away. Someone who was once in the driver's seat but was reckless in driving. Someone who had the opportunity to lead but decided to rule with pride and arrogance. A mortal man who equated himself with God.

So in an attempt to x-ray the giant strides of the people's governor within the last year, we must be mindful of other events that have shaped the administration as there's a saying that "no event, no history". Yes, the last year has been eventful and one of the biggest achievements of Gov. Fubarais his ability to wrestle and rescue Rivers from the shackles of those who kidnapped the State and held her and her abundant resources hostage for their gains.

During the electioneering campaign and his early days in office, not much was expected of a Fubara administration as he was seen as a stooge and puppet of the immediate past administration. The people of Rivers were expecting another four years of hellish experience, of brutal governance spiced with arrogance. They had made up their minds to live with another "bull in a Chinese shop".

A government that will seize their ancestral lands and confiscate their cherished properties without reason talk more of compensation. A government that invites you to the government house, you expect feedback and good explanations to take back to your people but what you get is insults and humiliation right before the cameras and by the time you get home, everyone is already aware of your bitter experience as it was live on national televisions.

The governor who can change this narrative and take away this shame from the land and reproach from the people would be said to have done more than enough. This was exactly what Fubara achieved in his first seven months in office and because it's not physical infrastructure that can be seen or touched, the governor is not impressed with himself. The people experiencing this new breath of fresh air blowing through the State are exceedingly grateful though. Without being a member of the Omoyele Sowore RevolutionNow "take-it-back" squad, Governor Fubara has taken back power on behalf of the good people of Rivers State and has now settled down to work for the good of the electorate and the land.

If the above looks abstract to the outsider and those who are not physically there in Rivers to experience the relief on the faces of the people on the streets, well, the governor also felt the same way and is probably not counting it as one of his numerous achievements. When he rolled out his scorecard and account of his stewardship in Port Harcourt to commemorate his one year in office, he referred to the political crisis he wriggled through as vicious and existential and assured the people that the worst was over as he said he has defended his rights to govern the oil-rich State without compromise.

Governor Fubara who said he inherited a project debt of over ₦225 Billion from his predecessor, promised to continue with any of those projects that have a direct bearing on the lives of the people despite the desperate efforts by his detractors to sabotage his government. He said he inherited 34 abandoned projects spread across 13 Council Areas but is committed to their completion.

He cited examples of how a cartel incited a contractor of an abandoned project to go to court and frustrated his efforts to complete the project. He also said the cartel went all out to persuade dignitaries and resource persons invited to the Rivers Economic and Investment Summit not to attend the programme or associate with his government but got disappointed when they decided not to politicize issues of the economy.

The former Accountant General of Rivers said his government has awarded contracts for nine new roads with a combined sum totalling over ₦534 Billion.
He said he established an "Internally Generated Revenue Investment Advisory Committee" chaired by himself that has greatly improved the internally generated revenue of the State.

From the ₦12 Billion monthly IGR he inherited in May 2023, he said the monthly generated revenue now fluctuates between ₦17 during the off-peak to ₦28 Billion in peak periods. It also goes to show how most of the State's revenue was being diverted into private accounts before he regained control of the treasury. Those benefitting from this malfeasance were using the proceeds of this crime to foment trouble and destabilize the State.

To encourage investors and support small-scale businesses, the government has kept tax rates very low and has completely frozen taxes on small businesses. The government is partnering with the Bank of Industry to support micro and small-scale businesses and about ₦4 Billion has been committed to this cause. It is aimed at empowering about 3,000 businesses that can create jobs with multiplier effects on the job market. The money will be disbursed at a single-digit interest rate with a 5-year repayment plan.

The administration awarded the 50-kilometre Port Harcourt Dual Carriage Ring Road with six flyovers, a river crossing and street lights which run across six local government areas to Julius Berger Nigeria PLC for ₦195 Billion and made a down payment of ₦150 Billion which represents 77% of the total sum. Julius Berger has never had it so good in Nigeria. Though the agreed completion period is 36 months, work is proceeding from six different points and there's every likely hold that they will beat the time.

There's also the 34-kilometre Elele-Omoku road awarded at the cost of almost ₦81 Billion with a completion period of 24 months. 50% of the contract sum has already been paid to the contractor. The projects are been financed from internally generated revenue and allocation from the Federation Account as an additional loan burden on the State is not the priority of the government at the moment.

In the area of education, Government Secondary Schools in Bokori, Eneka, Emohua, Okrika, Ataba, Community Secondary Schools in Kunusha, Tai, Rumuepirikom and many other secondary schools have experienced the Fubara touch. The government paid about ₦612 Billion for the furnishing of the convocation ground at the University of Port Harcourt, a federal university and also committed over ₦700 million for the construction of a twin hostel at the Nigerian Law School, Yenagoa Campus. This is apart from the ₦2 Billion released to the Universal Basic Education Board, UBEC as a counterpart fund for the upgrading and standardisation of Basic Schools in Rivers State.

Honestly, some of the figures being released by the Rivers State government to a single agency sound like the annual budget of ministries in other states. That's the Fubara way. Emergency ambulance services have been revived in Rivers State and the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital is being equipped to improve tertiary healthcare services in the State, most especially to handle referrals. Already, 35 Primary Healthcare Centres have been upgraded to attend to the immediate health needs of rural dwellers.

In one year, which many believe is just a few months, Fubara is already imposing his signature and stamping his authority on the State and it's becoming visibly clear he's only out to serve his people. Many won't mind if he continues on this path even if he steps on the toes of those who have held back the State for so long and become huddles on his way.

The founding fathers of the State and critical stakeholders who are only interested in the well-being and prosperity of the State are solidly behind Governor Fubara and the solitary he enjoys from these Elder Statemen is enough encouragement that could spur him to do more in his remaining years in office.
Now, the Rivers people are hungry for more and the man who killed the "Rivers lion" with his bare hands is now ready to confront any Goliath that stands to defile his people.

Autopsy reveals drug reaction as possible cause of Mohbad’s death As Predicted By Pro Kingsley

The prophet with the prophetic grace upon his life, prophet Kingsley Aitafo has once again proven that indeed God speaks through him.

In his Prophetic releases he revealed that we should pray for Mohbad because the autopsy report might claim it was drug they discovered as possible cause of death.

And as confirmation, the autopsy report on the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has revealed drug reaction as a possible cause of his death.

According to The Cable, the autopsy and toxicology test, which were conducted at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, suggested the possibility of a fatal anaphylactic shock or drug reaction as the possible cause of Mohbad’s death.

Anaphylactic shock is a severe allergic reaction that can be life-threatening.

According to the report, the hospital retrieved samples of the late singer’s gastric contents, blood, bone marrow, liver, kidney, and lung for a toxicology test.

The report was said to have showed traces of Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, in the late singer’s blood system.

Antihistamines are drugs used to treat allergies, stomach problems, colds, and anxiety, among other conditions.

The autopsy report was, however, said to have revealed that the concentration of the drug was not fatal or lethal to harm or lead to his death.

BusinessFirstbank Exposure To Heritage Bank Has Been Settled by Hunter2009(op): 5:30pm On Jun 04, 2024
FIRSTBANK EXPOSURE TO HERITAGE BANK HAS BEEN SETTLED

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) yesterday announced the
commencement of the liquidation of the defunct Heritage Bank Plc, following the
revocation of its operating licence by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The corporation said the move was in accordance with Section 55 sub-section 1 and 2
of the NDIC Act 2023, adding that depositors of the defunct bank that have alternate
accounts within the industry would be paid up to the insured amount of N5 million per
depositor using their Bank Verification Number (BVN) to locate their alternate account.
In a statement, NDIC Director, Communication and Public Affairs, Bashir Nuhu, said that
the liquidation process was with immediate verification and payment of insured deposits
to the bank depositors.
He said depositors with funds more than N5 million would be paid liquidation dividend
upon realisation of the bank’s assets and recovery of debts owed to Heritage Bank.
The revocation is coming on the revelation that FirstBank’s total exposure to Heritage
bank amounted to about N500 billion.
The CBN under former Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, got FirstBank to
support Heritage Bank at the level of forbearance, clearing of their checks and
instruments. “This led to their massive indebtedness to FirstBank to the tune of N500
billion,” a source with knowledge of the matter revealed.
THISDAY reliably learned last night that before the announcement of the revocation of
Heritage Bank’s licence was made, CBN paid off First Bank’s exposure to Heritage.
Since its intervention was at the behest of the apex bank under Emefiele.
The NDIC further advised all depositors of the defunct bank without alternate bank
account in the industry to visit the nearest branch of the bank with proof of account
ownership, verifiable means of identification such as driver’s licence, permanent voter’s
card, national identity card, together with their alternate account and BVN for the
verification of their deposits and subsequent payment of insured sums.
Nuhu, also the bank’s creditors to visit the nearest branch of the bank to file their claims
or via the online platform, adding that the process of payment of creditors would
commence immediately after all depositors have been paid.
He also advised debtors that are yet to complete the repayment of loans to contact the
corporation’s Asset Management Department (AMD) or visit the NDIC website for more
details.

The NDIC however, assured the entire banking public of its commitment to the
continued safety of depositors’ funds in all licensed banks.
It therefore, urged depositors to continue their banking businesses without fear as
banks whose licenses have not been revoked remain safe and sound.
The CBN had earlier announced the revocation of the operating licence of the failed
bank with immediate effect.
In a statement issued by CBN acting Director, Corporate Communications, Mrs.
Hakama Sidi Ali, the apex bank said the move was in accordance with its mandate to
promote a sound financial system in Nigeria and in exercise of its powers under Section
12 (1l of the Banks and Other Financial Act (BOFIA) 2020.
The central bank pointed out that the Board and management of the bank had not been
able to improve the bank’s financial performance, a situation which constitutes a threat
to financial stability.
This followed a period during which the CBN engaged with the bank and prescribed
various supervisory steps intended to stem the decline.
Sidi Ali said, “Regrettably, the bank has continued to suffer and has no reasonable
prospects of recovery, thereby making the revocation of the license the next necessary
step.”
Specifically, the CBN said the action became necessary due to the bank’s breach of
Section 12 (1) of BOFIA, 2020.
The CBN acting director further explained that the central bank took the action to
strengthen public confidence in the banking system and ensure that the soundness of
the financial system was not impaired.
She said the NDIC had also been appointed as the liquidator of the distressed bank in
accordance with Section 12 (2) of BOFIA, 2020.
She explained, “We wish to assure the public that the Nigerian financial system remains
on a solid footing.
“The action we are taking today reflects our continued commitment to take all necessary
steps to ensure the safety and soundness of our financial system.”
However, reacting to the licence revocation by the CBN, Founder/Chief Executive
Officer of Proshare Nigeria Limited, Mr. Olufemi Awoyemi, argued that at least four other
banks “are in situations requiring swift CBN intervention; therefore, the #CBN and the
#NDIC will have to shift regulatory/intervention gear sticks to ensure that the banking
system works with minimal disruption.”
He pointed out that the revocation of Heritage Bank’s licence did not come as a
surprise.

“For a bank under forbearance, this was a long time coming (as we recall the number of
reports on same and challenges with similar entities under the same program), given
the numerous follow-ups done by Proshare.
“Neither the CBN nor NDIC took to Proshare’s recommendations; with the wheels now
turning full circle with the CBN’s recent decision to liquidate Heritage Bank, the crackling
of regulatory noise has been tuned up. Therefore, we remain unsurprised and ask why it
took so long for the regulators (CBN and NDIC) to see the merit in the
recommendations proffered,” he added.
According to him, almost five years after, and sequel to the multiple interventions by the
CBN, including its forbearance position, nothing changed.
“Eventually, it would appear that the CBN took the first option we proposed. The action
today compels the need to interrogate the institutional decision-making capacity and
capability in the face of the obvious financial system and organisation shortcomings,”
Awoyemi said.
Also, Head, Financial Institutions Ratings at Agusto & Co, Mr. Ayokunle Olubunmi said,
“Heritage Bank has been struggling for a while now. The bank’s capital has been
persistently below the CBN minimum threshold.
“I believe that the revocation is meant to send a message to the banks that the CBN will
not hesitate to revoke the licence of any bank in breach of the CBN regulations. It could
also sanitise the banking industry to an extent.”
He noted that the revocation could improve confidence in the financial system since the
banks know that their licences could be withdrawn and would have to comply with the
various regulations.
Olubunmi, further stressed that the recent increase in the NDIC coverage would provide
some comfort to depositors.
Also, a banker who pleaded anonymity said the distressed bank had not reported their
financials in five years, adding that he perceived two other banks have negative capital
and bad financials which may go the route of license revocation.
The source said, “Heritage Bank had not produced their financials for years and over
the years there had been various investors that had tried to acquire the bank but once
they did their due diligence they backed out. Things have been so bad that they don’t
have senior staff for certain pertinent positions such as Chief Risk Officer and Treasurer.
So, things have been bad in the bank for a while.”

One Year In Office: Nigerians in Diaspora Laud Gov Fubara's Leadership Style

...admonishes detractors to give Rivers State time to heal

The Association of Nigerian Professionals in Europe, ANPE, has praised Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara's leadership style, describing him as an asset to Nigeria's democracy.

The group emphasised that Governor Fubara's approach to politics is still relatively rare in Nigeria’s dynamic political landscape.

In a statement signed by its President, Dr Reginald Agamah, ANPE noted that despite distractions from disgruntled politicians in the state, Governor Fubara's achievements in just one year in office are far-reaching and worthy of commendations.

Dr Agamah lauded Governor Fubara for resisting the urge to use the distractions he faced from state actors as an excuse not to perform.

He admonished detractors to give Rivers State time to heal and be better positioned for development.

"The Association of Nigerian Professionals in Europe, ANPE, commend Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State for his unique approach to governance," the statement said. We commend the Governor for prioritising the interest of Rivers people over politics.

"Governor Fubara's brand of politics is still relatively rare in Nigeria’s dynamic political landscape, resembling the egalitarianism of Abraham Lincoln. His personal political philosophy is worthy of emulation.

"Without sounding immodest and backed by empirical evidence, Governor Sim Fubara stands tall today amongst his colleagues as a peerless brand of humility, integrity, prudence, love for the people, honesty of purpose, candour, and a patriotic fervour still uncommon in Nigerian effervescent political horizon.

"Little wonder why he has garnered attention from both political and non-political circles due to his distinctive style of politicking. Governor Fubara has been rightly crowned the 'Governor of the Year' in his first year in office as a first-termer by several national and international publications, professional bodies, civil society organisations et al.

"We are very happy and want to extend our appreciation to Governor Sim, as he is fondly called by the people, for not letting Rivers people down despite the array of distractions he is facing in office. We commend him for not drowning in the pool of antics of detractors and saboteurs. He has demonstrated a strong character and unparalleled sagacity. He has no doubt presented himself as an asset to Nigeria's democracy. His steadfastness is not only a win for Rivers people but also a victory for Nigeria's democracy, especially against godfatherism.

"We commend the Governor for not allowing detractors to deter him from delivering good governance to Rivers people. No one would have thought that an embattled Governor would embark on an ambitious project like the Port Harcourt Ring Road project, which Fubara's administration flagged off on 17 July 2023; the largest infrastructure project by a State Government in Nigeria. His achievements across critical sectors such as health, education, agriculture, human capital development, and security are quite commendable. Governor Fubara’s revitalization efforts are self-evident and realistic.

"We, therefore, admonish detractors to give Rivers State time to heal. The state is still bleeding from the destabilization orchestrated by disgruntled politicians and saboteurs.

"The Association of Nigerian Professionals in Europe commend Rivers people for their unwavering support for their beloved Governor Sim. They recognize his immense potential, sagacity, and visionary leadership, supported by undeniable evidence. We share their sentiments wholeheartedly. With Sim Fubara, one can only anticipate quality and unparalleled governance.

"We also commend the peace-loving Governor Fubara for his leadership instinct which is responsible for the relative peace in the state. It is on record that the Governor is sustaining the peace in the State by complying with the Rivers Peace Accord signed at the behest of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, despite the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike and his allies disregarding the 8-point agreement. This not only shows that Fubara is committed to lasting peace in the state but also demonstrates that he is, indeed a man of integrity. Governor Fubara is the kind of leader Nigerians long for."

Christianity EtcMr Femi Jimoh Was Not Framed Up By Mfm He Was Caught In An Act by Hunter2009(op): 10:29am On May 29, 2024
MR FEMI JIMOH WAS NOT FRAMED UP BY MFM HE WAS CAUGHT IN AN ACT

I Woke up to a trending story of one so called FEMI JIMOH claiming that MFM or rather Dr DK OLUKOYA put him behind bars for 9 years, the most annoying part is that uncanny people who have no shame, the so-called detractors of the ministry that are facing legal problem are shamelessly and obviously making a hill out of this mole, people like Maureen Badejo and Funke Ashekun who are yet to pay what they owe the ministry from their judgements in court

THE STORY AS IT SHOULD BE TOLD
Our attention was drawn to an interview from one Mr. Oluwafemi Jimoh via a YouTube platform wherein he alleged among other things that he was framed up by MFM and jailed for nine years…
After our tedious investigation we opted to set the record straight for the general public, we realized that that MFM did not frame up this fellow neither was he jailed by the ministry. We found out that he was prosecuted by the Nigeria police for a crime he committed.
After speaking to a few people over this matter we were informed that Mr. Femi Jimoh who was once a pastor of the mountain of fire and miracles ministries was summoned to the HEAD QUARTERS from the branch he presided upon because of his unruly conduct and all manners of infractions he exhibited against the rules and ethics of the ministry for disciplinary purpose.
THE ROBBERY PLAN
While he was supposed to be serving his rehabilitative discipline at the HQ, he plotted with a group of people to rob the church offerings, sometimes in the year 2000. This insidious plan was to be deadly since they had plan to use a gun for their heinous mission, but in the act of hiring a gun, somehow God exposed them and the matter was reported to the Nigeria Police
The prosecution of the matter took about 8 years of which he was in the prison of the Nigerian police, after which, he was let go on a technical grounds. We gathered that He thereafter went to National Industrial Court to the sue the ministry, claiming damages of 500 million Naira and above for malicious prosecution and all sorts
But it’s obvious that the honorable court saw through his lies and disagreed with FEMI JIMOH on the grounds that MFM was not responsible for his detention, and upon further findings from the court he was not granted the damages, he prayed for except for his salary owed for the period he was in prison
In all conclusion FEMI JIMOH committed a crime and was in the prison of the Nigerian police for all these years because of the nature of the matter that was in court, this has nothing to do with MFM OR DR DK OLUKOYA as been pushed around on the internet especially by people like Funke Ashekun and Maureen Badejo who are supporting and garnishing the story of a criminal or are you thieves? because it takes a thief to support a thief.

CelebritiesEnding Insecurity Is Not An Illusion. I Trust Our Military's Capabilities-- Bura by Hunter2009(op): 9:06pm On May 28, 2024
*Ending insecurity is not an illusion. I trust our military's capabilities-- Buratai*

_...Advocates a holistic strategy for Nigeria to tackle the security challenges in the country

*By Lawrence Bilal Audu*

Former Chief of Army Staff and former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai CFR has outlined a holistic strategy for ending insecurity and other violent crimes in the country through non-kinetic operations.

General Buratai made the remarks, Monday in Maiduguri while delivering a Lead Paper at the 1st International Conference on Insecurity Reconstruction Resettlement and Rehabilitation in the Lake Chad Region organised by the Department of History and Strategic Studies, University of Maiduguri.

Underscoring the connection between history and security, Buratai posited that history serves as a foundation for all disciplines, offering valuable lessons from the past and preparing for the future.

He noted that security in the Lake Chad Region and the Sahel is a critical issue that demands serious attention from Nigeria, considering the wide range of consequences of instability in Nigeria.

The interconnected nature of security challenges in this region, he said, underscores the potential for unrest in one country to spread to neighbouring nations.

"For decades, Lake Chad Basin countries have grappled with various forms of insecurity including banditry, abductions, highway robbery, and cattle rustling amongst other challenges. In addition, the most significant security challenge facing the Lake Chad Basin remains the Boko Haram crisis.

While commending the efforts of the military and other security agencies including the intelligence community for their coordination that has yielded positive results, the former Army Chief averred that, counterinsurgency operations are undoubtedly complex and challenging endeavours that require strategic planning, coordination and commitment.

The military operation Buratai noted is quite fundamental as it is a coordination of all the stakeholders. "We give kudos to all of them for their job so far. They have done quite well, but we believe it should not be prolonged beyond necessary.

Ambassador Buratai suggested that if the Police is properly positioned and motivated with a good welfare package, in addition to an increase in the number, they would be able to cope with emerging threats.

"If we follow the UN standard of 400 citizens to a policeman, you'd see a great difference, but with what we have, you discover that our capacity is still way below standard.

"We also recommend an increase in the strength of the Armed Forces because the challenges back in the 60s and 70s are not the same now as they have evolved over time. We need more aggressive action to secure our borders and defend our territorial integrity. "

He noted that although insurgency has been contained to a very large extend, but a lot is still left undone.

"It is essential to understand that tackling insurgencies around the world is a formidable task that demands unwavering determination and a comprehensive approach. While the road ahead may be audious and difficult, it is crucial to note that success is achievable with the right level of dedication and resolve.

"Counterinsurgency operations demand a long-term perspective, a deep understanding of the local context and effective cooperation among various stakeholders with a clear vision and a collective will to address the root causes of insurgency. It is indeed possible to counter such threats and restore security and stability in volatile regions.

"Long lasting peace in post insurgency Northeast Nigeria remains a complex and challenging endeavours with varying perspectives on whether it is a mirage or attainable goal however, assessing the problems and prospects will lead us to finding lasting solutions to insecurity, peace and of course development in the region.

"The region has been plagued by years of conflict and violence resulting in widespread devastation and human suffering that has left deep scars in the hearts of the affected communities. Rebuilding trust among communities and fostering reconciliation are critical components in achieving lasting peace that can heal the wounds of the past." He said.

Buratai added that deep-seated grievances, political instability, and ongoing security threats pose significant obstacles to sustainable peace casting a shadow of uncertainty over the region's future.

He commended the Borno State government for the ongoing reconstruction resettlement and development that are ongoing. "We have seen deliberate efforts which have been very successful, resettlement development and so on. Rehabilitation of the former terrorists and so on."

Birthday Celebration: Prophet Joshua Iginla Charges Nigerian Government On Job Creation As Chief of Defence Staff, NLC President, Others Celebrate Him

The founder and General overseer of Champions Royal Assembly, Prophet Joshua Iginla has urged the Nigerian government to invest progressively on job creation as a means of sustaining the economy of this country.

Iginla rolled out this prophetic warning during his birthday celebration as that of his delectable wife, Prophetess Stella Iginla on Sunday, May 26th, 2024 at the prestigious 80,000 city of wonders cathedral,Kubwa, Abuja.

According to Iginla, the government must invest progressively in job creation in order to sustain the economy of this nation. He revealed that they should create an inclusive plan to engage the youths productively; give them opportunities to express their potentials and maximize their destiny.

"If you look around the nation, you will see the youths getting involved in criminality, addiction and errors that result in decadence, if this continues the future generation of this nation will be lost. We cannot keep ignoring the youths".

" As a person occupying the seat of power in this nation at any level, be aware that the beauty of life is not in what you acquire, it is in what you do with what you acquire. If you take a governmental position to cause the people pain and make gain for yourself, you are sowing a seed that your generation will reap".

Kano Emirate: Group Condemns Gov Abba Yusuf For Lawlessness, Plans To Destabilize Nigeria

The Advocates of Social Justice for All (ASJA) has condemned Governor Abba Yusuf’s decision to dissolve the Kano Emirate and subsequent reinstatement of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as Emir of Kano despite a court order.

The group also criticised the governor for issuing an arrest warrant for the deposed Emir Ado Bayero as executive overreach, an assault on Kano’s cultural heritage and a call to anarchy.

In a statement signed by Dr Abu Musa, the group described the governor’s actions as a clear abuse of power, a violation of the rule of law, and a threat to the stability and peace of Kano State and Nigeria.

“In a shocking display of executive overreach, Governor Abba Yusuf has taken the extraordinary step of dissolving the Kano Emirate, reinstating Emir Sanusi despite a valid court order, and issuing an arrest warrant for the deposed Emir Ado Bayero. This brazen move is a clear attempt to subvert the rule of law, silence opposition voices, and impose the Governor's will through executive fiat,” Musa said.

“The Kano Emirate is an institution that has been a cornerstone of the state's cultural and traditional heritage for centuries. Its dissolution is a reckless and arbitrary move that will have far-reaching consequences for the people of Kano State. The Emirate has played a vital role in promoting peace, stability, and cultural preservation, and its abolition is a direct attack on the cultural identity of the Kano people.

“Furthermore, the reinstatement of Emir Sanusi despite a court order to the contrary is a clear attempt to subvert the legal process and impose the Governor's will through executive decree. This is a grave affront to the principles of justice and the rule of law, and it sets a dangerous precedent for the future.

“The issuance of an arrest warrant for Emir Ado Bayero is equally disturbing, as it represents a clear attempt to silence opposition voices and punish those who dare to challenge the Governor's authority. This is a gross abuse of power and a clear violation of Emir Bayero's fundamental rights.

“The arrest warrant has created a sense of unease and tension among the people of Kano. This could lead to social unrest, as supporters of the deposed emir may take to the streets to protest. The potential for violence and instability is high, and the state's security apparatus is on high alert.

“The controversy surrounding the Kano Emirate has already begun to affect the state's economy. Investors are wary of investing in a state plagued by political instability and cultural tensions. The tourism industry, which relies heavily on the emirate's cultural attractions, is suffering significantly.

“Governor Abba Yusuf's actions are a dangerous power grab that undermines the very foundations of our democracy. They demonstrate a blatant disregard for the rule of law, the cultural heritage of the Kano people, and the fundamental rights of individuals.“

The group, therefore, advised the governor to reconsider his actions and respect the legal process, the rights of all individuals, and the cultural heritage of the people of Kano State before it is too late.

“We also call on the relevant authorities to intervene and address this situation, which has the potential to destabilize the peace and security of the nation. The people of Kano State deserve better than a Governor who is willing to trample on their cultural heritage and fundamental rights in pursuit of personal power and vendettas.”

Sanusi II Reinstated As Kano Emir As Prophesied By Apostle Omotosho

True prophets are God's mouthpiece who utters the mind of God and it's comes to pass. One of such is Apostle Omotosho Tope Joseph who carries unusual prophetic grace upon his life. One of his major prophecies for 2024 has come to pass again.

In his prophetic release for 2024 he stated that in Kano he sees people ccongratulating the former Emir of Kano state, HRH Sanusi Lamido. He spoke about his reinstatement ans restoration.

And as predicted, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II has just been reinstated as the Emir of Kano.

This decision followed the Kano State House of Assembly’s resolution to dethrone the current Emir and also dismantle the four new Emirates in the State established under a controversial 2019 law.

Though it has not been officially announced, LEADERSHIP has it on good authority that Sanusi II has been reinstated, and is expected in Kano on Friday.

According to credible inside sources, “So certainly with the passage of the Bill, Sanusi automatically stands reinstated. No need for confirmation, the thing to is wait for the Governor to assent to it.”

The then restructuring of the Kano Emirate is seen as a political manoeuvre to diminish the influence of then Emir Sanusi II, a vocal critic of the former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje administration. The creation of the new emirates fragmented the authority of the old Kano Emirate Council, diluting its power and influence.

How Pro. Kingsley Accurately Predicted Death Of Iranian President Raisi

The prophetic grace upon Prophet Kingsley Aitafo is unquestionable as one of his international prophecies has come to pass again.

Months back, he gave a prophetic warming about the untimely death of Iranian president, Raisi. He also warned that his seat will be taken over by his vice president.

Interestingly, his prediction came to pass as Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, a hardliner seen as a potential successor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed when his helicopter crashed in poor weather in mountains near the Azerbaijan border, officials and state media said on Monday.

The charred wreckage of the helicopter which crashed on Sunday carrying Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and six other passengers and crew was found early on Monday after an overnight search in blizzard conditions.

Supreme Leader Khamenei, who holds ultimate power with a final say on foreign policy and Iran's nuclear programme, said First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, would take over as interim president, the official IRNA news agency reported.
"I announce five days of public mourning and offer my condolences to the dear people of Iran," Khamenei said in a statement. Mokhber, like Raisi, is seen as close to Khamenei.

NASRE Partners Leadway Assurance, Presidency To Deliver Health, Education Support To Journalists With Challenges

NASRE Media Foundation, the humanitarian arm of the Nigerian Association of Social and Resourceful Editors (NASRE), extended support to media practitioners facing health or financial challenges, as well as the families of bereaved journalists, on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Ably supported by Leadway Assurance, one of Nigeria’s leading insurance companies specializing in life-business coverage and prompt claims payment, and the office of the Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagements, South West, the Foundation provided cash and grains to selected beneficiaries in the first phase.

Mr. Omodele Adigun, a former Deputy Business Editor at The Sun Newspaper, who is currently battling partial stroke, received cash and grains for health support. Mrs. Esther Peter Thomas, wife of the late Peter Thomas, a renowned entertainment editor and publicist for the former Mo'Hits Records, also received cash and grains support.

Similarly, Mrs. Adewole, the widow of the late Qudus Adewole, publisher of Ebony Media who passed away in 2021, received educational support and grains on behalf of their daughter, Yesmee, who was born shortly after Adewole's death. In the same vein, Mr. Bolu received equivalent support on behalf of Peter, the only surviving son of the late Foluso Samuel, who worked with Encomium Magazine but passed away in 2015. Foluso Samuel’s wife and two of their three children have also died, leaving Peter, a JSS student, in Mr. Bolu's care.

In a unanimous voice, the recipients prayed for the continued success of NASRE Media Foundation, Leadway Assurance, and the Presidency.

With discernible emotions and tears in their eyes, Mr. Adigun, Mrs. Esther Peter Thomas, Mrs. Adewole, and Mr. Bolu described NASRE as a dynamic group of experienced media professionals whose efforts are highly commendable. They prayed for the continued success of NASRE Media Foundation, Leadway Assurance, and the office of the Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagements, South West.

In an earlier remark, the President of NASRE and NASRE Media Foundation, Comrade Femi Oyewale, assured the recipients of continued support within available resources. He noted that NASRE Media Foundation was initiated to support media practitioners facing challenges. Stressing the need for support, Oyewale called on corporate organizations, public and private institutions, and individuals to support NASRE Media Foundation in whatever way possible.

https://nasre.ng/nasre-media-foundation-supports-journalists-facing-challenges/

“Media work is hazardous. We take the highest form of risks. We are on the road even in the middle of the night, ensuring that governments and institutions’ actions are anchored in truth for the overall benefit of citizens and taxpayers. The risks we embrace daily take a toll on our health, and when most of us are either deceased or down with ailments, nobody cares for us. These are part of the reasons we set up this Foundation to provide hope for colleagues in the face of hopelessness,” he explained.

Oyewale emphasized that the support extended to the four beneficiaries is just a small step given the large number of media practitioners on NASRE Media Foundation's list who have truly pathetic cases and need support. “We are not going to rest on our oars. We have a long list of journalists and families of late journalists who need help. Some of the cases are really pathetic. We are committed to this noble cause. This is just the first phase,” Oyewale assured.

“I thank NASRE members for their commitment and dedication. I thank Leadway Assurance Plc and the office of the Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagements in South West for their support. We couldn’t have done this without you,” he appreciated.

“I call on corporate organizations, public and private institutions, and individuals to team up with NASRE Media Foundation in supporting journalists facing challenges to minimize the suffering associated with the job,” Oyewale, who was represented at the event by Idumonza Isidahomhen, Vice President of NASRE, requested.

Abayomi's $87m Theft Case: AAS Legal Team Calms Angry Investors As Court Adjourns Hearing (Video)

Sadly, the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 adjourned the hearing of Abayomi Oluwasesan and his wife who were charged by the IGP Kayode Egbetokun for gaining access to several millions of investors funds ($87m) of Afriq Arbitrage System, an online financial trading platform.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axYSfxTpHcs

Although the matter was mentioned for hearing, the trial could not go on because of the absence of the Defendant lawyer.. The prosecutor Sidi Abdulrasheed reported to the court that the SAN holding brief for the suspect sent a letter requesting for an adjournment due to an emergency trip outside his jurisdiction.

Sidi complained that three of the four witnesses billed to testify came from Lagos and expenses were incurred. He revealed that at the last sitting, the hearing could not be held because the defendant's lawyer was also absent on the pretext of illness.

He therefore urged the court to bill the defendants 500k each for flight of the witnesses .

In his response, Justice MS Idris appealed to the prosecutor to consider the defendants' plea for an adjournment and consequently adjourned the case to June 10th and 11th, 2024, and the suspects were sent back to Suleja correctional centre.

Meanwhile, several angry investors who witnessed the proceeding expressed their anger at Abayomi. Counsel for the company, Barrister Obeten calmed their nerves and assured them justice will be served in court.

It would be recalled that Abayomi Segun Oluwasesan who allegedly committed the heinous crime of defrauding the leading global crypto space known as Afriq Arbitrage System was re-arrested alongside his wife and arraigned in FCT High court, Jabi in Abuja on March 28th, 2024.

Abayomi and his wife were tracked to an estate in Lagos and brought back to Abuja on Sunday, March 24th, 2024 over the lingering financial scam to the tune of 87 million dollar and criminal activities he perpetrated against AAS and the CEO, Jesam Micheal.

The accused individuals were charged for purportedly accessing millions of subscribers' investments at the Afriq Arbitrage Company's online trading platform until October 9th, 2023.

Press Release: National Association of Nigerian students Stands in Solidarity with Mr. Jesam Micheal in Pursuit of Justice

The National Association of Nigerian Students issues this statement to express unwavering solidarity with Mr. Jesam Micheal, CEO of AAS, amidst recent events of financial malpractice.

Mr. Jesam Micheal, a respected figure within the Nigerian youth and crypto community, has been a beacon of trustworthiness and integrity in his dealings. His platform, AAS, an online arbitrage investment platform with a global presence, has positively impacted countless lives by providing honest and timely returns to its investors.

Mr. Jesam Micheal's decision to entrust Mr. Abayomi Oluwasesan with access to the AAS platform was not taken lightly. It came at a time when Mr. Jesam, facing a serious health challenge requiring surgery, had to make difficult choices regarding the management of his affairs. In an act of goodwill and trust, Mr. Jesam believed that Mr. Abayomi would act in the best interest of the investors on the platform during his absence. This decision was a testament to Mr. Jesam's character and his dedication to upholding transparency and accountability in his business dealings.

However, the betrayal of this trust by Mr. Abayomi Oluwasesan is nothing short of reprehensible. What began as an act of compassion and solidarity during a challenging period for Mr. Jesam quickly turned into a nightmare for the investors on the AAS platform. The deliberate exploitation of Mr. Jesam's vulnerability underscores the depths to which some individuals are willing to sink in pursuit of personal gain. It serves as a stark reminder of the importance of exercising caution and diligence, even in seemingly benevolent circumstances.

The actions of Mr. Abayomi Oluwasesan represent a blatant violation of the principles of integrity and honesty that are fundamental to our society. By preying upon the trust placed in him by Mr. Jesam Micheal and the investors on the AAS platform, Mr. Abayomi has caused immeasurable harm not only to individuals but also to the integrity of our financial ecosystem. His actions have eroded confidence in legitimate investment opportunities and have underscored the need for robust safeguards against fraudulent activities, particularly within the rapidly evolving landscape of cryptocurrency and online investments.

In light to address the recent disturbing events surrounding a viral assault video that has circulated on social media. It has come to our attention that there are misleading narratives regarding the true victims involved in this unsettling situation.

Contrary to what has been portrayed, it is essential to clarify that Mr. Jesam Michael, the CEO of Afriq Arbitrage System, and the numerous investors affected by this unfortunate incident are the true victims in this unfolding saga. Mr. Michael, as the complainant in a case before the Federal High Court, Abuja, has endured cyberbullying and cyber stalking orchestrated by individuals who have spread false and incriminating messages against him, despite never being investors of the company.

Regrettably, Barrister Maxwell Opara has chosen to advocate for these individuals, allegedly motivated by monetary gains, despite being fully aware of the truth of the matter. It has come to light that Mr. Opara and the accused were purportedly collaborating on behalf of a confessed fraudster, Abayomi Oluwasesan, who admitted to embezzling $87 millionf of investors' funds under Mr. Michael's management. These investors span over 540 countries, states, and provinces worldwide.

Mr. Michael's unwavering commitment to seeking justice has unfortunately led to backlash from Mr. Oluwasesan and his associates, who have resorted to blackmail and fabrications on social media in an attempt to undermine Mr. Michael's credibility. Despite facing threats to his life, Mr. Michael remains resolute in his pursuit of justice and urges those who doubt the validity of his claims to seek clarification from the appropriate legal authorities.

I kindly ask for your discretion and cooperation in disseminating the accurate information regarding this matter. The truth deserves to be brought to light, and justice must prevail for all those impacted by these distressing event.

As we call for justice to be served in this matter, we also urge regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies to redouble their efforts in combating financial crimes and protecting the interests of investors. It is incumbent upon us as a society to hold perpetrators of fraud accountable for their actions and to ensure that victims receive the restitution they rightfully deserve. Only through swift and decisive action can we deter future instances of financial malpractice and uphold the principles of fairness and accountability that underpin our collective well-being.

Furthermore, we urge members of the public to exercise caution and due diligence in their financial dealings, especially within the burgeoning crypto space. It is imperative that we remain vigilant against opportunistic individuals who seek to exploit others for personal gain.

In conclusion, the National Leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students, reiterates its unequivocal support for Mr. Jesam Micheal and his pursuit of justice. We stand shoulder to shoulder with him and the affected investors, unwavering in our commitment to uphold honesty, integrity, and accountability within our society.

Sincerely Yours in Nation Building,

Dist. Sen. Ekundina Segun Elvis
