Well, true. Will try out my IT thing and if things don't go as planned, it could be Plan B as no one can see the future MH in particular Clinical psych pays well too? Up to £90K? |

My field is Clinical child psychology, I am into more of neurodevelopmental assessments, children and young persons with emotional and behavioural disorders. You pass my level, I'm a "bloody support worker" |

I've applied to more than 30 care homes but haven't gotten any positive response. Please can you help get any since you live there? Care home sponsorship is one of the worst ways to migrate to the UK (in my own opinion) |

Mindlog: Residential children home support worker. Some companies train you from the scratch, while some company expect you to come with work experience and Level 3 certification in children residential care. Probably the reason why I was rejected during my interview Thats the only care related interview I have ever been rejected for and I knew they would as they kept hammering on experience They are a bit stricter when it involves minors than adults as I have seen. YP homes may be a bit more lenient Do you know how much the L3 cert costs? |

Mindlog: There are some 12 hours jobs from 8p.m to 8a.m, that entails you to just be awake throughout the night while the teenager being looked after is in his/her room, on their phones or playing video games until he/she goes to bed while you are downstairs in the sitting room watching Netflix and sipping coffee or tea as they just want an adult who would be awake throughout the night, making sure the young person do not run away during the night as you would have the house keys on you after having locked doors that leads outside of the house, complete the expected paperwork of how of the shift is going and getting paid £12.70 per hour. What you wrote is 98% of what I do at work but mine is for 14/15 hrs Sometimes you get bored and sleep a bit when the doors are locked |

brine: LOL, not really that. Priorities just differ. Some people send £150/hr just to get 1 hour time with escorts but they wouldn't come out to say they spend that.
I was spending so much back then on food because I was doing my normal 9 - 4:30 job in the UK and another 6pm - 2am job in the US(contract). I barely had time to cook and besides what's the point of spending 1-2hrs cooking when my 1 hour pay out of the about 17hours I was working could get me already prepared meal? However, those days are behind me now. I have returned to solely focusing on my regular job in the UK, allowing me to allocate more time to my family, personal growth, and pursuing my own projects. Well that's true... And different pockets too anyways .. Just not so feasible for regular students like myself unless I have another source of income |

brine: Yes, that's actually very possible. I don't buy clothes monthly but I know I spend more than that (£200 x 12) yearly on clothes and shoes. I looked at a food delivery app I used some time ago and I discovered I spent roughly £12k on takeaways between Jan 2020 - Dec 2022 alone! Well, you guys are rich kids |

Gracious11111: Teesside Uni is quite affordable when compared with other schools, when you say stay months without a job, does the school compel students not to work? I ask because while studying, you are not applying for jobs with the school's degree. Please what do you mean by stay out of jobs for months? You go look for job sotey, it will appear as if village people are after your life One of the worst places to stay if you're a student .. And no, it's no longer as affordable. They now offer similar fees with other unis in better cities |
Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by hustla(m): 12:10pm On Jul 29, 2023 |
If you're heading to school in the UK, avoid Teesside Uni except you want to stay months without a job / you're comfortable with being in survival mode Fees are quite expensive now and it's a no brainer when you won't get jobs to pay school fees A word is enough for the wise |
