Treadway: the wereys are already backtracking after their futile and foolish floating experiment. The exchange rate na less than 900 for USD as at now. Na to sharply go change am tomorrow las las at all at all na im bad pass. What's even more absurd, na the NNPC go take the loan, not even CBN or even in collaboration with CBN or Finance ministry.
Just when I was done being patriotic, and I was patiently waiting for dollar to cross 1000 so I can exchange this shikini $1000 wey dey here na that time FG decide say dem wan resume defending of the Naira again, after floating isonu. Awon ppl yi ti cut ticket mi sha🤬🤬🤬🤬😡 It will still go up las las Just a matter of when |

adekzy: Hello folks, 3rd month in the Uk, recently got a job (to be starting soon), however, my major income is still in Naira from my Naija business, and the exchange rate is worrisome, should I still keep the naira savings in Nigeria 🇳🇬 or I should start converting to GBP irrespective of the rate.
Need experienced advice please.
Thank you. I asked this question on the money market thread and recommendation is to convert There are no indications that the exchange rate will improve as we have not done even the basics and probably won't do it Best would be to convert a sizeable % and observe over time |

bigtt76: It depends on your expenses in the UK. If your new salary can cover it, then by all means preserve what you have in Nigeria by investing in mutual funds to earn some interest higher than normal savings account. But if you feel the naira savings would be at serious risk of depreciation, then try to move them over. Trust Naira at your own peril |

Globalshaper: Good day, Nairalanders
I read a few days ago about someone saying he had to create a new Facebook profile the moment he got to the UK. And that action was instrumental to how he got a job offer.
Please I have a few follow-up questions:
1. Apart from creating a new profile, what else can I do to position myself to get jobs that align with my career vision?
2. Please can someone confirm how this is applicable to LinkedIn? Do I need to create a new LinkedIn profile too?
I will be coming as a student in September and want to ensure I start on the right foot.
Thank you very much. Hmm What kind of job requires facebook? Maybe Linkedin, never heard of employers going to look you up on FB My own FB is practically empty |

Thank you for helping me stay on track with my ACCA and audit career.
Please come out and help me with taking this decision. Please take the offer with sponsorship My guy is presently in this predicament where he thought the first company he went to would sponsor his visa but they didn't Tight situation for him now as his visa expires in a bit You're already familiar with company A and can get promotion in addition to the Sponsorship. You can also pivot to a bigger company with sponsorship when settled in the role after a year or two Don't let company B whine you o. A bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush |

KolaShangOne: There has been a history of "Real Estate companies" that do not have genuine documents. Some will collect money without allocating the lands.
First, check their history. You can google their names.
Before buying land, you also have to confirm that the estate has genuine document (Global C of O) for that land.
This you can do by going to Ministry of Lands. ShangOne OG before IG I salute |

JaySterling: Please, guys I have an urgent question
I went to UK last year on student visa. I’m almost done with my program. I don’t have any dependents, just me
But along the line here in the UK, I met this lady from Jamaica that we have entered a relationship now, . Her own visa class is about to expire and she would have no option but to return to Jamaica
Please can I add her as a dependent on my visa, so she can stay. She is basically my partner now, even though we are not officially married yet Hmmm.. Men Sha. We dey try but daughters of eve will never do this for us You should be able to if you can provide some evidence .. Additional guidance would be on gov.uk |

When buying a land from any of these agencies in Nigeria how do one verify that they are genuine? Apart from visiting their offices and viewing the land which other ways can one verify that these are not scammers? Hmmm Just wise Be very careful is all I can say and try to employ the services of a 'street' land lawyer, not those ones with suit that sit all day in the office talking English Quite a lot of land related scams these days from 'verified' companies |

Iboyx: The rule in the company is u must be based in Nigeria and its a full time role Stay in Nigeria and develop yourself since it's software engineering but you have to be aware that Nigeria is a weird country and things can change within 2 seconds You can tmove to Canada on PR after developing yourself well and polishing your CV, getting a Canadian job from Nigeria gives more points Moving to the UK on student visa is a ghetto thing but you can also get a software engineering job in the UK before graduating from your programme. Gotta weigh it well |
