Poswahala: I'm thinking of moving to another country, buy a house, take care of my community and neighbors then when I'm old, I will move to a retirement home.
Please advise.
You think say na as them dey show retirement home for movie e dey/ It will shock you sha
Bourne007: Speaking of tradition and you truly sticking with your traditional belief, just dey cover all bills inc rent na and let madam be and avoid any partnership
I never said there should not be partnership, I did not say beat your wife or make her feel inferior; even complete morons know that two cannot tango unless they agree in partnership. Hell, plenty wives handle the bills at home without outsiders knowing
Regardless of the arrangement, a man remains the head of the house and when this is not the case, there will always be issues.
No matter how woke the world gets, this is the case
TheGuyFromHR: their insurance will pay. All sorts of insurance in this country, rent insurance for landlords, mortgage protection insurance for borrowers, credit risk insurance, loss of income insurance, porn stars insure their assets, and so forth. credit card companies make money from retailers, merchants, i.e. the places where you use your credit card to buy things. so even if you pay off your balance in full every month and never pay a penny to them in interest, they still make money in settlement fees as long as you use the card.
Reason why Amex is not very popular with merchants - their fees are higher than Mastercard and Visa (and maybe that's why they are freer with dashing people credit limits). Visa and Amazon fought over settlement fees this year, and eventually settled.
LagosismyHome: Nothing will happen is the reality ...however who knows if you leave and later come back then it might be waiting for you. You never know what will bring you back.....but if you don't come back the bank will adjust it and add to their bad debt written off
Lexusgs430: You can do that, but NEVER return...... If you do, they would keep chasing you......
In the interim, you would have a CCJ waiting for you..... When you return and buy a property, if within 6 years, the debt would be pegged on the property, bailiff visits, they would continually sell the debt on, so letters would never stop and could eventually be pegged to insurance payouts, upon death attached to your estate etc etc etc
Plus you loss your access to cheap credit....... Just hope you don't return.........
Not me ooo
Just wondering cos i know many people would have done same
kode12: If you're eligible for Paypal credit, I'd say start with that. It has a relatively lower bar for entry, and you can spread purchases above £99 over 4months which gives you a little bit of security.
justwise: Your post may not be popular with some people but you are making an important point, it’s not free money, if not managed with care it will destroy your life. Years ago a friend on student visa took one with just £2000 balance, she failed to repay the amount spent because she lost the part time job, then the interest grew out of control, bank sent debt recovery agency after her, for years she moved from one address to another, from one city to another. Has to do under table jobs because any money that goes into her account will be taken by the bank. This went on for years, I really don’t know how she got out of it.
Chief
What if someone takes like 10K from a CC and leaves the country. What will the Cc coy do?
Do they factor this into their risk analysis before approving the individual or how do they then make profit?
kode12: The euphoria that comes with being given credit . It's very enticing because unlike debits, where you see money leaving your account, you don't feel it so much because it was never yours, to begin with until it's time to pay it back. Students with unstable jobs have to be really careful sha.
Reason why I did not take it
For CC sef, If the money never dey my right hand, I wont use my left hand to spend the money on it unless I have some backup savings .. before hand go touch me
I think ill just explore the Monese credit builder in the meantime when I am sure I can handle it
LagosismyHome: Uk you see them doing AWS training up and down different packaging , selling it as if once you are trained on Aws it so easy to find a job.... the reality on ground is very different. Its very hard to break into that space with zero experience has been my observation.
Goke7: Congratulations to them, na this kind advert dey deceive people and they are still where they are. Even you yourself know the truth. Like I said before folks can believe whatever they want. Cloud technology some years back was still relatively new and folks could get their way in easily but nowadays with everyone brandishing certificates everywhere how many are truly getting their way in now. Am also in a tech community of cloud folks and suddenly folks started advising themselves to stop using past questions to prepare for cert exam but rather get hands on to even sit for exams. Folks are beginning to know that just getting the certificate is not enough. You guys can keep advertising and let people decide whatever way they want. The results will always there as a justification later. Let's look at the data and prove so if many folks are really getting jobs just with certs
LOL
I have given you two examples now, but still, you sha wan talk your way
You are just reading to argue and not to understand
How will you pass the exams if you dont do some hands on and understand the environment at least?
Pre Covid, MS had labs in all their exams I took. How will you pass if you don't do some hands on given that the hands on are random?
I am not saying experience is not vital, I am saying certs get you a foot in the door, it is now up to you to do well in the interview or goof. Certs serve to show that you are doing something in that field, or you have some knowledge, not that you know it all
Even if you goof, you can go back to the drawing board, learn from your mistakes and improve on it
Make una dey sofily gatekeep this IT thing abeg. There is no one size fits all
Last time I used VMWare was circa 2014 Didnt even have training on it before configuring the set up, put on and hosting virtual machines on it. I dont want to believe it has a steep learning curve, so yes, VmWare is easy to learn.
Have a look at about clip. You've now awakened my VMWare bug, loll
Personal text: Jesus is not a theologian. He is God who told stories.
NNTR: You would have practised on VMWare so to have enough hands on experience that you can talk about which in essence is an in-house field experience, so still on to a potential win-win situation.
Hands on experience, means knowledge or skill you acquired from doing stuff yourself and/or creating the magic yourself ,as opposed to just reading about it, seeing it being done or ordinarily being certified. The certification just breaks the ice, tears down barriers that probably would have blocked you getting to the interview door

Is VmWare easy to learn? Did a training on it in 2015 but it was not comprehensive enough so I abandoned it
