RalphJean: Bruv…why was the first time the only time nah? Brooooooooooooo! I applied for a support worker role o, not care worker. Got there and was shocked I made mouth that I will resume 8am and leave 8PM thinking it doesnt involve personal care (they never mentioned it during the interview). I left or should I say ran away from there at 2PM Got there and the ailments / condition some people are in is truly mind blowing; you'll just start to doubt God and your mental health starts to take a dive. Some people like it though, I am not just one of them It doesnt make sense to me though. People who work in mental health / supported housing make the same money for more than half the stress Information is key though, as some people dont know supported housing, assisted living etc exist |

TheGuyFromHR: Note that I didn't dispute the fact that a caregiver can be negligent. Of course anyone can make an error. Even if not as the poster put it - I don't think staff "carry" residents in care homes, for instance. It's the sentence I find somewhat implausible. They do, but not by hand For instance, the first and only time i went to work at a care home, we used hoists; something like a mini human crane That hoist thing to me is very dangerous cos if you do not take time to strap the patient in well, they can fall and hit their head I have attached a picture of what it looks like

TheGuyFromHR: If you are using PayPal Pay in 3 for something worth more than 100 pounds, use your credit card in your PayPal wallet as the underlying payment instrument in case you have to revisit the matter. Insurance claims yeah? or is there any other added advantage? I am going through the CC docs at the moment |

Solumtoya: So Credit Cards (CCs) are one of the best Credit Tools you can have but yes, like every good thing, it does have its dangers.
Most folks here are trying to build Credit Score and to be very honest, CCs are the easiest way to do so. There are so many other ways, of course, and you should do them: Registering in the Electoral Register, Setting up Direct Debits for Utility Bills, Phone/SIM Contracts, etc but from experience since these are not Credit facilities, they may not boost your score as much as a CC. Bro, quick and funny question Can CCs be used for BNPL purchases like PayPal's Pay in 3? Since PayPal's Pay in 3 now reports to credit agencies, can you use one bird to kill two stones that way assuming you always pay off your cc on time? Or will this be a flag to credit agencies and impact your ratings? I am just curious |

tjsadiq: My good people. Pls. I need an advice. I work part time with a care (3 nights a week), however, got an entry job with a multinational (hybrid working). My dilemma is that the multi national isn't ready to sponsor as I have valid dependent visa (tier 4) till 2024,however the care home wants to sponsor me. My question is it legal and possible to work both In order to get sponsored? I welcome your opinions and suggestions. From what has been answered here previously, I believe you’ll need to get permission from the care home to work with the multinational Scroll back a few pages, a link to the gov.uk website was shared to back it up |

Now, as beautiful as it sounds, in my 7 years as a Credit Card Product Manager, I have seen so many people wallow in heavy credit card debts. The truth is most humans are not just disciplined enough to handle such an allowance of funds. Thanks Glad someone in the line could give some expose about everything I appreciate |

Amarathripple0: At some point in OP’s life, he or she didn’t know the meaning of CCJ. We learn new things everyday. He or she could have done a mini education on how credit cards work and how to pay it off or at best share an insightful link but no, they (the poster) had to write an epistle and allude to the fact that if you are a newbie in the UK, then you must not be financially literate enough to own a credit card. Its just funny As if the other elders who have been dropping knowledge about CCs are mental or mumu people If you have some knowledge, share and keep it moving or just keep quiet Trying to act like the all knowing on a faceless forum is just weird when you don't know who else has some knowledge you probably need To each his own, I guess |

icon8: I am sure many cardholders don’t even know what CCJ means, or its ramifications for the card they are holding.
The nature of the questions I see here, supposedly from those who are already using CCs, is mind blowing. Shouldn’t the in-depth research precede the application? To me, learning from personal experience could be very costly. But again, what do we know? Lol Instead of writing stuff out like this, why not educate us about what CCJs are? Yet to get a CC btw but I like learning how things work in advance and weigh decisions for up to a year before diving into it |

onecoder: No, it's a personal preference. While you can pay back immediately you spend on the card. It's better after your statement has been generated If you pay back immediately you spend, by the time your statement is generated your account will have £0 spend. So things like your credit utilisation won't be computed. Thanks, I appreciate Does it matter if direct debit is set up from my Monzo or Chase? Does it matter to credit agencies? |
Travel › Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by hustla(m): 6:16am On Jul 19, 2022 |
onecoder: Yes, if balance is cleared within that 21 days after your statement is generated. No interest. I use amex and have been using it only for bulk purchases not everyday payment cos to spend dey sweet . And this is what I noticed using this credit card to build credit scores. 1. You have like 21 days after statement is generated to clear your debt (balance). 2. If your credit utilisation is below 30%. It will be reported and will reflect on your credit scores. 3. Always clear your balance after your statement for the month has been generated or pay minimum. Does it matter if it's spent on bulk or small purchases like bus rides, petty expenses? One might not have bulk purchases every month you know I actually thought the payment is due immediately at the end of the month, didn't know there's a 21 day period where you can make the payment |

Solumtoya: Interest is only one of the income lines for Credit Card Companies, there are so many other ways they make money. Also, many people still do not pay down fully on time. One financial hit and the Cardholder who had a perfect record of paying on time enters debt and struggles to bounce back for years. Credit Card is a very profitable product for FIs. If one enters bad times, can't the credit card be terminated and just take a slight hit on credit levels... Instead of falling down completely like btc |
