Same people that say cultural differences matter in marriages/relationships are also the first to jump into one when a foreign man/woman comes calling. Normal Nigerian inferiority/tribalistic B.S. |
elite: Have u driven a c320 before? If yes pls state ur facts and give reasons why I shld avoid it.The ignition is key-less, stick it in and push to start. Like I said I've never had a problem with the ignition, I had a plastic key ignition previously on my C-Class, never had any problems. Trust me, with a Mercedes Benz, as long you service it- you'll not regret owning it. Brother, Mercedes is in a different league from Toyota- Absolutely no comparison there. I owned a 2002 Camry before it got stolen, I was glad cuz it was nothing special. |
Please kindly send price and details to oadamson@yahoo.com |
esere826: 28 ) THE END?Excellent information for Nigerians that are serious about being professionals, you've done well- it's always good to invest in people which most of us don't tap into. One last thing, to expand you network- joining Linkedin in a must for any serious professional. The amount of job offers I've received via linkedin in the last year alone would be over 10. I can offer advice to anyone looking to break into the scientific/pharmaceutical arena. |
Trust me you'll never regret going for a Mercedes, I've been driving them for 5 years now and not one single problem. I moved from the C-Class to the E-Class- Benz is a combination of luxury and durability. I can't say the same about the BMW or Lexus (Toyota engine)- which gave me either electrical or engine problems regardless of servicing. |
ormer Chairman of the House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee on Monitoring of Subsidy Regime, Mr. Farouk Lawan, made a dramatic reappearance at the House on Thursday, the first since the $3m bribery scandal involving him broke out. Chairman of Zenon Oil, Mr. Femi Otedola, had claimed that he gave $620,000 bribe to the lawmaker to remove his companies from the list of firms indicted by the committee for fuel subsidy fraud. Lawan strolled into a session of the House presided over by the Speaker, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, around 12.55pm. The diminutive lawmaker shook hands with a few colleagues before taking his seat on the front row. He exuded confidence as if nothing had happened in the past days. The politician also shook hands with the House Majority Leader, Mrs. Adeola Mulika-Akande, and the Deputy Leader, Mr. Leo Ogor, both sitted at the front row. http://www.punchng.com/news/lawan-returns-to-house-backs-suspension-by-reps/ Stealing is indeed the norm in Nigeria, imagine the leaders shaking hands with a thief. |
Ganys: You took this from my mouth bro, Akala is the New Face of TuraLMFAO nairalanders go kill person with laughter. But for real though, the report is true, ALL girls I've known (even the light-skinned & mixed race ones) use bleaching cream for one thing or the other. |

soladisc: This country is something else, simply because this Woman refused to allow corruption in SEC they have to remove her. She refused them to bring in candidate for the recently conducted recruitment, she insisted that promotion should be based on competence and qualification, they refused. The problem in this country is followership not leadership. Someone should please answer this question.Common with the bullshit, she's got a Harvard degree and you would assume she knew better to step down once the allegations started flying around (if she was truly innocent). I believe she's just as guilty as the reps and she said all that recruitment rubbish (even though it was probably true) just to take the attention away from herself. Yes- she should go and try that where she got the degree from and she'll surely be spending a long time in jail. Good-Riddance!! |
esere826: 20) STREAMLINING YOUR CV: Have you ever gone to one of those high street recruitment companies, stared at the windows and handed in your CV only to be told that you ar over qualified?Your style of writing is quite impressive, keep it up. Out of curiosity, in what field did you ply your trade as a recruitment consultant? |
I have a feeling there's a bit more to it than the poster is revealing. I may be wrong though ![]() |
Beaf: I found this pic of the Anyene's. So, so sad.Man that's gut-wrenching.. R.I.P. GEJ needs to ground DANA immediately!! |
”A Dana Air commercial aircraft from Abuja to Lagos just crashed around Iju in Lagos with about 153 passengers onboard. This is so sad. All that blood and life just wasted. Aviation is the sector I presided over. I know it inside out and now I am in pain. May the souls of those that died in that crash rest in peace.” http://spyghana.com/world-news/inside-africa/nigeria-news/femi-fani-kayode-reacting-to-dana-plane-crash-in-lagos/ My heart goes out to the families of those involved, God will comfort you all. FFK, unfortunately you're part and parcel of a corrupt system that led to this, we await the current minister of aviation's take on what possibly went wrong. |
justwise: You don't have to post each point in a separate page. All can be done in a page or twoI actually find it much easier to follow the way he's done it. Carry go brother, communication is key in the UK- I was in an interview for a PM position sometime back. I had no clue what I was talking about but my accent's crisp (lol) and I take my time to talk. I got the job- although I've got an excellent educational background, I had no mgmt experience- communication skills can definitely make or break your career. The most important thing in my opinion is to make God your friend. |
THIS OUR TIME, OUR CUP. BRING IT BACK TO LONDON BOYS!!!! |
THIS IS OUR YEAR!!! |
GOOOALLLLL. Torres to win this game |
Gomez- waste man |
Bayern go soon tire, then we start playing |
Floyd is a wuss. He's running scared of the pac-man, thats the fight we want. |
Ayo-olu12:There's no need for that kinda talk, we all know Igbo girls are the finest in Nigeria. No question about that, give credit where it's due. |
It's simple, the team that scores first wins the tie. |
Chelsea will definitely lose (or draw) the 2nd leg but will win the tie just like against Liverpool in 2009 |
Katsumoto: Parking the team bus in front of your goal when you are playing at home is such a loser strategy. What a numpty! |
Chelsea we need at least 1 more goal pllzzzz |
Chelsea have to keep being ruthless tonight, they need at least 2-0, or 3-1 |
Nice post, I quite agree with you that we really can't afford to wait for electrification projects to come to fruition before we develop our country. Unfortunately, power is key to any developing economy; even agricultural projects you mentioned can be very power-intensive. Fair to say that the demand is no where near what it was in the 80s and there has been sort of a disconnection in investment in power generation between the early 80s and late 90s. There are a few things I think we can attempt to do; we could focus on a service-based economy, this would require substantial investment into training programmes & education. I guess we can also look into sort of meduim scale farming for local consumption, this can actually take some pressure off inflation. There are other things we can look at like alternative energy sources. Ultimately, the pace of growth will remain very slow without enough electricity to power industries. |
Alaba International Market, the biggest market for electrical appliances, electronics, PC and accesories in Nigeria has launched an online presence. Ok. Before you expect to see an Amazon-like e-commerce site, let me break the news to you that the site isn’t greatly designed. Nevertheless, it’s a good move in bringing those products at the popular and busy Alaba market located at Ojo Alaba along Badagry Expressway in Lagos online for easy purchase. The site allows buyers to shop for products away from the hussle and bustle of the busy market and have their goods delivered straight to their door steps. Using its Buy 4 Me option, customers can allow the service to buy their desired product for them with 100% Money Back Guaranteee and get it delivered to their doorstep through courier. http://techloy.com/2012/03/07/alaba-international-online/ |
@ OP You're very right, I got a quote for a property in Gbagada from a nairaland agent but bought it for just over half the price by getting my contact to do lots of homework on the property. I would have actually been willing to pay a bit more than I bought it for if not for the agent's greed. |
occam:You're quite right with regards to our trade partners, but in the next 10 years there will be a shift of economic power to the far east- whether anyone believes it or not is still to be debated. Quantitative easing in America and the Euro-zone make them a lot less attractive to invest in- the currencies in this zone is being devalued not artificially like China but due to structural debt issues- this is far more worrying than artificial inflation in China because we still can't see the light at the end of that tunnel. I believe we are still yet to see the worst of it, wait till Obama wins re-election then we can see. China on the other hand, have been devaluing their currency for some time now, the Chinese have decided flood the markets with their currency until the currency has the same parity as other currencies- then the handbrakes come off and they let Yuan appreciate gradually because in the long run it would increase the purchasing power of Chinese consumers. In the short term, there isn't much benefit to Nigeria except that we align ourselves and think about the future (why do you think David Cameron could care less if the UK was in the EU or not? Hint). The long term (15-25 years) is where we could definitely cash in on this policy- because the Yuan WILL appreciate considerably higher than any other major currency and our trade aggregate with the Chinese will also increase. We can't wait for the currency to appreciate before we move, it'll be too expensive and returns will be lower. The move just underlines that things ain't business as usual any more with the "super powers". |
Nigeria's central bank has added the equivalent of $500 million in Chinese yuan to its reserves and plans to buy seven times that amount, in a shift that underscores booming commerce between China and the African continent. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203986604577257190163679120.html?mod=googlenews_wsj Great move!! SLS finally come to his senses, still a lot of manoeuvres to be made with his monetary policies but a good start. In the next 25 years or so, I believe the Yuan will be the world's reserve currency. The earlier we align ourselves with it, the better. |
