It is PPR (in Nairaland slang) My PPR StoryTIMELINE ITA: July 25th, 2018 AOR: 30th July, 2018 MEP: 21st August, 2018 PPR: 10th April, 2019 My Birthday: 11 April Thank you Lord …. I am so relieved and grateful to God for the release from AVO!!!!!*edited* I wish I can write so succinctly as the likes of @newmum, @tojued et al and my hubby of course…I am grateful and relieved at last to be posting this write up that I whipped up on the 28 February 2019 after reading @tojued PPR story. Our journey started way back in 2014 when my boss said to me ‘I think you guys (me and hubby) should try this Canada thing, I am not chasing you away o’. Incidentally someone we know in our church spoke about it with us saying his family is in Canada and he will join them soon. He sent some documents and links to read up about saying we can do the application by ourselves. I looked through the documents and links he sent, and just thought this seems like plenty work and money o, Nigeria no chase us biko. We discarded the thought and process and went on with our lives. Fast forward to 2016, after having my two children I thought let me pursue my masters and also give my children a better and sane living environment while hubby come visiting because we assumed that the PR process was out of our league since I no gree get my masters , I dey chase man and to born … To cut the long story short so I wouldn’t bore you guys the study route didn’t work out after using an agent and spending some cool cash that could have helped in the EE process. By 2017 we re-visited the EE process and I took my time to study the process with the help of nairaland (see I be senior here since the part 2 **sigh**. But thanks God ‘oja sope las las’). We planned to go through Ontario PNP if the score does not come down again to 413 which our score would be if we both max out IELTS. So I took my IELTS in May 2017 (L -8.5, R – 7.0, W – 7.0 , S -7.5) Got my ECA in September 2017 Hubby maxed his IELTS in January 2018 – Can’t remember the exact scores CRS score – 407 in January 2018 So we updated our EE profile to wait for Ontario that never came. By March I was already so disappointed and worried that would this Canada dream ever come true. Because I know by April our score will come to 402 I started scouting for other PNPs we could apply to and found Morden Manitoba. Applied and got invited for interview, had the interview in April while waiting for their feedback. NS opened on 28 April 2018, after almost 7 hours of trying we were able to submit our application (this was the highlight of our year) Got nominated in July 2018 after over 2 month wait, during the wait got a positive response from Morden for an explorative visit but discarded it. Nominated – 17 July 2018 Medicals – 23 July 2018 AOR – 30 July 2018 (made sure to submit to avoid biometrics) MEP - 21 August 2018 THEN THE DEAFENING SILENCE!!!! Just as most people in AVO had thought especially PNP guys, that they couldn’t have gone through the long route (PNP...lots of IELTS etc) to have to a long wait at the federal level again . I prayed for and believed for a speedy process and that by Dec 2018 everything would have be completed . My gratitude to God is mainly on the fact that he kept us sane through the waiting period. Thanks to this thread on Nairaland….I learnt 70% of what I know about the express entry on this thread. It wasn’t an easy journey but it has ended well. So for those still at one stage or the other, keep faith alive, it will surely happen. In the other news, we are selling our stuff at giveaway prices, if you are in Lagos and looking to buy something in that regards please pm. Thank you guys for reading! (Typed on the 28th February, continued on 04 March 2019 in faith and finished 11 April 2019) |

Going through immigration was straight forward, it took less than 30 minutes. We already had a temporary accommodation arranged so we gave the information for our PR cards to be sent there.
Thank you so much for this...I have been looking forward to something on Halifax here!! will check out your blog also. |

WES indicated on their website that they don't evaluate certificate from NIM. Realised this when i wanted to use it to claim 2 or more certificate See attachment for the screenshot. I don't know how to paste pictures 40manlappy: When NIM issue transcripts, do they reflect actual scores for each course or just "passed"? If it is the former, you may give it a shot. I think you should request for your transcript first. See if you can view a copy to make an informed decision.
@bolded Note that the thread becomes enriched when members experienced an issue and share how the issue was resolved. For now, we can only offer suggestions especially when there is no categorical answer.

lol.......your answer made me looked at my question again....i feel....thank you for answering my funny question Ljay17: A savings plan is an investment in which an individual contributes money on on regular basis in order to reach a short or long term financial goal. The funds are usually invested by a fund manager in equities, commodities etc. It is quite different from a Pension Plan.
Hope this clarifies. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by IAMCOMING: 4:12pm On Jul 23, 2017 |
Thanks so much for your reply. Please if you don't mind me asking do you mean saving plan as pension..... Thanks again Ljay17: Hi @IAMCOMING
The proof of compensation requirement is designed to further reinforce claims that you were employed and were paid for your services... not that you just got somebody to write you a reference letter. You don't have to provide everything mentioned in the guide. Pay slips or Bank Statements showing salary credits to your account is enough. If you have income tax clearance certificates, you can include those as well. I approached my Bank to print out my first 3 months bank statement (which was in 2005 and my last three months( which was 2015) even though the account had been closed two years ago. They obliged me.
Secondly my settlement fund was in the form of a savings plan that had been growing steadily for more than 4 years. I didn't have the cash in my bank but I still presented my Bank Statement. I got my fund manager to write me letter stating the current balance on my savings plan and the surrender value should I decide to liquidate into cash immediately.
Finally, I did some research on the Province and wrote a short piece enumerating my the personal skills, qualification, work experience and my excellent English skills as demonstrated by good scores in IELTS. I ended by mentioning that I had an aunt who resides in Ontario who had promised to ensure a seamless integration into the society and culture for my family.
Hope this helps.
Good luck! |

Hi I am here again. Please i will like to have more information on the following 1. please what did you show to support your proof of compensation - (pay stub, bank statement and all) i read in the application guide that for proof of compensation we have to provide these Pay stubs, pay cheques or pay statements, • Bank statements showing salary deposits, • Income tax documents, or • Letter(s) from employer(s) explaining why this proof is not readily available. Note: It is recommended that you provide proof for the first and last month for each work experience. (the income tax document and the NOTE that is my concern) 2 did you have to maintain the settlement fund as your minimum balance for 6 months prior to your application? 3 How did you show your intent to reside in Ontario? Please forgive my plenty questions . thanks for quick response Mire222: I am a silent reader of this thread and I have benefited immensely from the contributions here which is why I am motivated to give back especially because my case is peculiar so I hope it will encourage or help someone. please before I begin, I would like to encourage people to read the thread from beginning before coming to ask questions that have been flogged and over flogged on the thread. It makes the thread unnecessarily long which in turn discourages people who would have actually put in effort to start from the beginning and there are little important inputs within that would help someone which could be missed if one does not read through.
My degree is in law but my NOC is in management ." Iphie's "posts led me to use IQAS for my evaluation instead of the popular WES because an LLB is awarded more marks as professional degree which going through WES doesn't give. This boosted my CRS. I evaluated only my degree certificate. You do not need to evaluate law school Certificate.I don't have an LLM. my CRS score was 407 so I had to apply through Ontario. I received NOI in April, applied may 20th and got nominated June 26th with 600points which boosted my score to 1007. I don't have reference letter (which is a very important document in the express entry process) because the company I worked for was shut down. so in place of reference letter, I provided a letter (in form of a reference letter) written(typed actually) by me and notarized by a notary public stating everything that is required to be written in a reference letter. regarding the format of the letter, I started the letter in the form of an affidavit (I, Dolly Parton, hereby declare that...) and not like a proper formal letter with addresses. Also, I attached all my contract/employment letters which had my salary, job roles and position stated, income tax certificate,6 pay stubs and my first and last bank statements showing salary deposits . Before applying for OINP(ontario Immigration nominee program) please ensure that you request your duplicate ECA to be sent to OINP from whatever evaluation company you used. This will reduce any delay in processing your application. The process of requesting for duplicate ECA from IQAS got irritating cos they requested I send hard copies of my request form which cost me more because I used EMS express whom also did not deliver my documents on time(supposed to be 5 days but took up to 2-3weeks). I was fortunate to get a reply from a better informed IQAS representative before EMS was able to deliver my duplicate request form to IQAS, that advised that I could send the requested application copies by fax which was received immediately .why I said "better informed " is because prior to sending my documents through EMS, another representative had responded to my enquiry that IQAS doesn't receive faxed documents .About the fax, I used a free fax service I found online gotfreefax.com. I was able to fax the documents for free to IQAS .There are other online fax services you can use to send fax. All you have to do is scan your documents and send it through their fax link and it gets delivered to the fax machine. There are usually instructions on the websites/apps about how to get it done. (I love how much the internet has made life easier) . Lateness in requesting your duplicate to be sent to OINP can delay your application. Recently, some applications have been processed within a week. I got ITA after the nomination last week .I think I have said all that needs to be said. More information on OINP human capital stream can be found on http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/oinp-ee-human-capital-priorities-stream-comprehensive-guide.396543/page-315
After receiving nomination, OINP Will deliver the nomination certificate to you through express mail. mine arrived after 7 days of nomination . When filling my ITA online, I noticed there was no place for uploading the nomination certificate but had read somewhere that CIC usually requests for it. so what I did (which I read somewhere that others also do) was to upload the nomination certificate together with the LOE .my LOE also explained the reason why I don't have a reference letter and that my POF (treasury bill) is from my husband because the treasury bill statements are in his name. He also wrote a letter stating that he's giving me access to the funds which we uploaded to the POF section.
OINP is definitely expensive and cumbersome to apply for because they request for more documents than CIC did ,but it can be done. Yes, I did it on my own without an agent .I understand that this application process can seem too much for some to manage themselves but I believe with patience and research, it can be done. Hope my post helps someone. Once again ,I appreciate the people who contribute to this thread. God bless you abundantly. |

Please forgive my plenty questions . thanks for quick response Ljay17: Hi folks,
In keeping with the celebratory mood of the forum, I'd like to share my own 'small' victory.
I received my OINP Nomination earlier today. CRS updated to 1008 Primary NOC: 6235 IELTS: LSRW 9, 8.5, 8.5, 7
See timeline below:
EE Created: 06.06.2017 NOI: 09.06.2017 OneKey Reg 13.06.2017 Profile Withdrawn by OINP 28.06.2017...after the 14 day deadline New Profile Created 02.07.2017 AOR: 03.07.2017 Assessment: 06.07.2017 DIP: 18.07.2017 Nomination: 19.07.17 ITA sitting back for the next draw
My advise, if your CRS score is below 410 and you can afford the CAD1,500 OINP fee, by all means go for it!!! Secondly, make sure you submit all requested documents in one go. It makes decision making smooth and reduces processing time. Finally, as you may have noticed in my timeline, I registered the OneKey account and couldn't submit my application within the 14-day deadline, subsequently OINP withdrew that file. I simply created another file and then submitted with LOE stating that I was unable to submit due to incomplete docs.
Wish everyone else waiting for the good news all the best.
Open to answer any questions regarding OINP |
