Marriage is just a form of a relationship and isn't necessarily the means to an end of a relationship. There are couples who cohabitates and are having a blasting and happy relationship more than a lot of married couples. Modern marriages and relationships have almost equal chances of collapsing so why people think that it can always last a lifetime and make it a top priority in their lives is baffling.

I'm not against marriage, we all hope to get married someday, but the weight and relevance attached to it isn't worth it since a lot of modern marriages hit the rocks after a few years.

If only people have married friends who can open up to them and tell them what they are going through and the bondage they're engrossed in just coz they are married some people might have a rethink. The banter and lovey dovey attitude a lot of couple display publicly that prompt some to envy marital institution doesn't usually reflect what they are experiencing in the closet.

Also, you're implying that once a guy has got a good job and is independent he shouldn't date a girl for more than 2years without proposing. Well, just so you know, it takes more than having a good job for one to be ready to deal with marriage and the responsibilities that comes with it.
