V0lv0: You always make a lot of sense cool. My people just need to chill. It's not a must to answer everything. People are free to feel/think how they want. At the end of the day, those feelings and thoughts will not pay our bills.
Thanks dear! U see the problem going on here is not always the ghana economy but how some ghanaians here react to the outlandish points ,brought up against them . thereby giving some immature boys a foot hold.. Its not like those boys are any better.. They just don't know a thing.. When you know who you are as a ghanaian and what ghana stands for., you smile to yourself .. there is no need trying to prove it for people to see.

As far I can remember nigeria has been having erratic power supply since the 60s till date.. That's around 54years. Can you tell me one day the NEPA to PHCN body have announced that at a given time there will be no light in an area due to eratic supply ?

Dreyl, iconize I think you guys should lay down your e-weapons. Ghanians must be laughing out loud, looking at us fighting one another, when we should be united.
It's getting out of hand already. The opponent here are Ghanaians, not a fellow countryman.

'Ritual killing' rescue in Ghana
Is witchcraft alive in Africa?
There has been widespread shock in Ghana over the death of a 72-year-old woman accused of being a witch.

The woman, who lived in the port city of Tema, near Accra, was allegedly set on fire by a group of five adults, one of whom is believed to be a pastor.

The suspects say her death was an accident, and deny committing any crime.

The BBC's David Amanor in Accra says belief in witches is common among both educated and uneducated Ghanaians.

Three women and two men have been arrested, aged between 37 and 55.

Police say the suspects tortured the woman, Ama Hemmah, until she confessed to being a witch, before dousing her with kerosene and setting her on fire.

She died from her injuries the following day.

According to reports, the suspects say that they poured anointing oil on the woman which caught fire as they were trying to drive out an evil spirit.

Our correspondent says newspaper pictures showing the woman's injuries have caused revulsion in Ghana, and the incident has been condemned by human rights and women's activists.

Our correspondent says there have been other cases of violence against women accused of being witches, and a government-backed commission has urged religious and civil society groups to help tackle the problem.

bakynes: My friend Nigeria created the Ecowas body. All you other west African countries benefit from us tell me what we benefit from Ghana? I do not hate Ghana but when you hate a country that has always been there for you since time memorial then you leave me no choice than to hate on Ghana as well.
Your talk shows that you have little or no knowledge about the happenings in the region, always taking what your local brain washing media houses tell you. Instead of moving out to see the clear picture, how do you mean Nigeria created ecowas bodyhuh The lagos treaty that was signed to bring about the ecowas body was a brainchild of the likes of kwame nkrumah, zik lumbuma and co.. Yet you don't hear the other parties making noise.. Where from all this immature one man showhuh. If you feel you have done a lot and you are not being paid back the way you expect. Why don't you leave the body. At the moment nigerias short fall in gas supply of which countries pay for is hampering trade and development and helping to close up industries. I think you are already doing enough. Despite EU tensions, russia is still delivering gas to european countries because they understand what a contract entails. You leaders bring in their nonchalant behavior to the international board room and expect a high five. huh

Read and comprehend what?? How much MW does all the power stations in nigeria generate, how much do nigerians consume. What what's the deficit. This are questions u ask before you make such claim. If u want to appear valid u bring up a link to prove and not just hear say

bakynes: I know we supply electricity to Benin and Togo coz a church member is a top former PHCN official and people from Benin and Togo usually call him to complain they should have turned on the power switch for them. The truth is our government needs to stop supply of gas to Ghana and other west African countries at subsidized rate and satisfy us first before our neighbors. Let them go and fend for themselves it's high time we stop these supplies to our ungrateful kid sister called Ghana.
Did u bother to take some time to research if nigeria gives light to togo and benin?

cirmuell: Ghana should not rely on Nigeria for gas to avoid disappointment like this.
The gas plant will be ready by Q4 of the year. And will be able to supply the countries needs as well as for export. Also the government is working in hand with companies and institutions to bring in alternative power sources ..so Its a temporary hitch .. For me the west africa gas project was a total waste. It would have been used for something more productive. there is nothing to be proud of as a Nigerian on this news, I know that a vessel damaged the pipe along the togo coast . But even at that nigeria has never lived up to the contract, something that is being paid for. It also affects togo and benin rep cos ghana supplies them electricity. There is need for maturity and wide decision if the sub region is to move under the ecowas body

londoner: If you re-read what was written, you will see the difference in language when viewing from each angle. Nothing at all was even mentioned about the Nigerians in Ghana before the alien complaince order, nothing about what they also added to Ghana or what they lost. Other just cited rising crime, as if in justifaction and association with the Nigeria migrants.

Yet, the positives of Ghanaians in Nigeria are highlighted.

Its not really an unbiased write up, is it?
Hello londoner .. Glad to read from you. Its been a while. well am sorry if it seemed one sided to you, but I maintain my stand point that I was not being biased. In order for me to come at my own judgment I had to look from both angles, and take myself back in time. Grounded up with facts.

it made people unhappy. The main reason for discontent was economic competition and increased wave of crime that
occurred in the late 1960s.

Well that's actually the bitter truth as to what occurred back then. And am not just making it up in order to tag nigerians as the villains . But if you went on you will still read of other reasons as to why they wanted the nigerians out which did not sound biased.

many Ghanaians were welcomed in the 1970s by Nigeria, which was also in need
of cheap labor. And technical services in the oil And manufacturing sector. And the ghanaians excelled @ what
ever they put their hands on

Of course they were welcomed at first because the nigerian officials knew the state of ghana then. I don't see anything wrong with that. If you have been tutored by a ghanaian or seen a ghanaian artistan at work you will agree with me as to their diligence and detail to their work. Till today people still make reference to them.

government sort to poo
the blame on the immigrants
Its does not stop there..

for similar reasons as the formal case in ghana, and also there was huge tension in the region due to the coup in ghana.
Rawlings has seized power and ordered the closure of borders to avoid and possible coup . So fueled by the economic woes, competition, pressure. population
burst, revenge , hampering of trade due to the closure of ghana border

Nigerian employers allegedly
invited back many
deportees because they were unable
to fill the vacant positions with
domestic labor .

Of course they did!! There was a vacuum because some of the services that were no more or scarce were being done by ghanaians ,some masters in their feilds and at the moment were the best people for the job .. some bosses did not willful let the ghanaian workers go . Its was due to the government pressure

In the midst of it all I pointed out nigeria and ghanas faults in the issue.. If you read with a clear conscience and not always read between the lines. you will see where am coming from
