These matter again ! i was surprised when kanayo.O.kanayo in afamefuna movie made reference to the £20 insinuating Nigeria govt short changed them, and £20 was what they had to build there entire life upon, Most of us were not there but we can ask rhetorical questions to unveil the truth It is a known Fact, Biafran currency was printed, on what bases was the currency given out ?? when Emiefele printed new notes, Nigerians were ask to deposit there Old note in there respective banks. isn't ? The most logical thing Biafran bank at the time could have done is ask igbos to deposit there Old naira notes in xchange for new Biafran notes equivalent. My guess is most igbos withdrew there money from Nigeria banks and took it to xchange for Biafran notes .. after the War no one will accept the Biafran notes from them, dem enter One chance ! what Next they resulted to sentiments and play the victim card, it worked ! they got free £20 they never appreciated lawason land and Alaba int'l were given During the biafran war, i am sure Non-igbos died and some Nigerians suffer loses as well what did those ones Get ?? What has Dangote got to do with CBN corruption on FX dealings with importation....crude oil products is not our only imports naaaaa So many things you said that are wrong which you will rather not admit but shift the goalpost, no one is against upscaling local production US has trade deficit, yet china with the highest trade surplus is 2nd to US ...you are entitle to your opinion but where they are talking facts please just watch and learn

Baba....importation is not even a bad thing especially if u have a good exchange rate..if u have the export to back it up.......
We don't have the export.....but Reno just fallaciously claimed gat Dangote's operation will automatically boost naira even said those with dollars will cry....they won't cry...because the naira won't improve greatly....
If Dangote wants to vex now..he can even decide to demand for dollars from oil marketers since he's buying the crude he's refining in bought in dollars from outside
Have u accounted for corruption in this whole matter...Nigeria is the more u look the less u see ooo Now you are just throwing weight around, no regard for facts, incase you don't know china, russia and norway are countries that export more than they import However US net import is more than they export yet china economic that recorded highest surplus is 2nd to US with trade ... Dangote sold Diesel to marketers why e no vex collect dollar, asides paying expartriates is it dollar dangote will use an run overhead cost and administrative expenses in a Naira economy. IMAliyu: While I like the fact that the Naira is appreciating, it seems to be artificial, and it seems our FX reserves are being used to defend it. This is not sustainable, unless the CBN has some unknown plans to solve this. No one is arguing its sustainable, however desperate times require desperate measure, CBN must do everything possible to sustain the Naira value till Dangote fuel come on board, by then we won't be expending over 60% of our FX earning on importing refined product that is the scope |

advanceDNA: Yes it will.... Read my text I said it won't be greatly significant...and my reason is we are heavily dependent on other imports...if crude oil products was our only imports then Dangotes fuel hitting the market will gigantically improve help Are you aware Dangote refinery is enough to cater for nigerians daily demands, meaning lil or no need for importation of refined crude that takes 60% of our FX. If Nigeria saving 60% of FX normally expended is not greatly significant then 40% must be bigger than it sounds True, we are import dependant, but if you study the attachment myndd dropped you will realize the other imported products (Net worth) aint weighty enough to keep balance of trade down .. didnt you see petroleum import cost gigantic improvement is one comic illusion, not in economist

...hope u understand that Dangote is not exporting crude oil products to other nations in naira...he's being paid in dollars for his exports ....
His business operation will not significantly boost naira as Reno claimed without the government heavily paying subsidy on the exchange rate as they are doing now......
Thats why they are saying Reno is a paid propaganda spreader..... However you choose to look at it, Dangote turnover be it naira or dollar is beneficial to Nigeria GNP, The most important thing is balance of trade, in as much as our Export increases its will foster economic growth Nigeria sells Crude oil in dollars, how is it detrimental |

We are depleting our foreign reserves.

Zonefree: There's no profit here.
The value of 1.7m in 2014 is greater than the value of 3.5m in 2024.
In 2014, you can buy 600 bags of cement with 1.7M.
Presently, same 600 bags of cement is nothing less than 5.4M it is good to know you have A1 in maths, however Profit is not define by economic value or purchasing power, instead of going Further its just a simple maths Cost price - selling price = Profit. Besides No one stores or has Bags of cement produce in 2004 to sell in 2024 10yrs ago land in my area is sold for 3m/4m which is enough to JAPA but today same land are sold around 12m and its not enough to JAPA .... so for these simple reason do we say Land is not an asset or discard ROI |

LordAdam16: NNPC subsidizes gasoline. The real cost on the international market is higher than 568.
If Dangote sets a flat rate of less than #500 in an open market, buyers from outside Nigeria will buy everything for the next 2 years. They'll load at his refinery, move the gasoline to Apapa Port or across to Cotonou, and ship outside Nigeria at international price with huge profit margins.
It'd be the equivalent of opening a sachet water outlet and deciding to sell at N5 per sachet and N90 per bag. You'd never have it in stock because outsiders will come with cash and speak for everything you'll produce right from the factory floor.
-Lord Its convenient to cite fuel subsidy, funnily no on one knows how much fuel should cost without subsidy, do you know ? i know fuel is an "international commodity" meaning it has a nearly Universal price BUT Regardless freight and duties are one major cost that can not be undermined esp. when ruled out No one is saying Dangote shouldnt make profit, but the beauty and essence of local production is an "Alluring Price" it must be cheaper |

Dangote can sell to literally anybody on the planet. His refinery is right on the shores of Lagos. Load and go.
But somehow they expect Dangote to sell below the current international rate when even Benin Republic will buy at higher prices. Everybody sells something. It could be goods for profit or services for salary. Yet, for whatever reason, they expect someone else to do something they'd never do. Sell below cost price when there's literally a litany of buyers who are fighting to pay the going rate for your goods.
-Lord IF foreign Fuel is sold @ 568 by NNPC, please elucidate why dangote fuel shouldnt sell below #500 |

Did these buyers tell him how much he should pay for refinery construction if imported fuel sold by NNPC is currently 568 is it not common sense that local refined fuel should sell at a significant price margin Since petroleum decides Nigerians fate to a larger extent its not out of place if people get involved. we need more people like Air peace and Bovas in Nigeria |
