@Fhemmmy:

You are welcome.
How God does it, is what makes Him Jehovah. Whichever way it comes it's been a while i spent winter in Canada. I'll enjoy it a bit b/4 i come to 9ja.
Have a wonderful time.

@Fhemmy:
Are sure you interpreted what you've read about what i said correctly?
You may have an opinion on whatever you've read. It doesn't count as a fact. Did i in anyways implied that the seller is anything of what you interpreted it to mean.
Read the it again:

This term is known as pre-order, which means your money is used to finance the purchase of the car; which in itself is not a bad business. That's why u'll get it that cheap and how good well it performs is another thing entirely.

who represents the exporter in 9ja. Who are you gonna hold responsible if the car is not a good quality or doesn't drive well. You need to ask if the seller have any connection to anyone in 9ja or who do you discuss with as it relates to the car performance.

Tell me where i discredit the seller. You added your own advise as you deem fit and i did likewise. I'm not into such low level activities and will never be. I'm not in anyways in direct competion with the seller. Try to read some of my contribution on nairaland

@Pak:
What i mean is that the price you mentioned is the amount you'll pay the exporter before the car is shipped. This term is known as pre-order, which means your money is used to finance the purchase of the car; which in itself is not a bad business. That's why u'll get it that cheap and how good well it performs is another thing entirely.
The second part of my gists: who represents the exporter in 9ja. Who are you gonna hold responsible if the car is not a good quality or doesn't drive well. You need to ask if the seller have any connection to anyone in 9ja or who do you discuss with as it relates to the car performance.

@Pak:
What u r going to get as per the price of the $6900 is a pre-order; that is to say, you pay that amount first before the car is shipped, which is not a problem. Is there anyone that u can hold responsible if the car fails drive test?
Autos / Re: In Need Of A Car With A Bugdet Of 1million Naira! by ib612(m): 4:12pm On Nov 26, 2009
@Charlesbid:
I can give you a 1997 accord for that price or 1999 manual accord for 900k that will arrive into 9ja by dec 28. The 1997 will be a cotonou cleared automatic. Both cars are 4cylinders If interested contact me 1 416 939 1886.

Autos / Re: Cost Of Car Shipment To Nigeria? by ib612(m): 12:09am On Nov 26, 2009
@Coolaje:
You need to ask for the clearing costs for the 2009 benz first; it may end up costing you more than you expected. Most clearing agent do not know that this benz is a van, u need to mention it to the shipping agent in NJ, the one on frelinghuysen Ave, to describe it as a van on the BOL. Better, to avoid drama in 9ja, buy one more truck and ship on a container.
ACL is very good on container and very fast, too. They have their own terminal, PTML, in Lagos. It's usually 17 days to Lagos from the day of sailing. RORO? that another thing entirely. Many factors accounts for the delay and for u to be sure u get what u need on time when u need it use a container on ACL.
Autos / Re: Cost Of Car Shipment To Nigeria? by ib612(m): 11:49pm On Nov 25, 2009
They don't do roro in Cal. What you get is consolidation; that's ur vehicle is loaded on a container with others and you may end up paying unnecessary charges. Best option, get ur vehicle to Florida, New Jersey, Maryland where such happens.
I'm a licence dealer residing in Toronto, Canada and i do a lot of US market; the two countries have a Nafta deal and in specific to trade there's hardly any restriction. Examples of such auto market are: Mannheim, Copart, AAA and the lists goes on.
Most of the items you buy on the auction ground are as is, where is. The only exception are vehicle on green marks - they are guaranteed cars and more expensive.

These pix are for a clean title ca. Compare and tell what you think.

@ask4007

Compare these pix of a total loss accord and tell if this is really a total loss>

Autos / Re: 2006 Honda Civic Ex Forsale by ib612(m): 1:01pm On Nov 25, 2009
@ask4007
It seems to me you do not know how insurance adjusters make their decisions on whether a vehicle is total loss, irrepairable, salvage, or clean title. Their were many things that they take into consideration before a car is titled. A car may be very damaged an yet recorded as a clean title car. Some may just have their fender or light or bumper, or windshield damaged and be declared a total loss.
See this pix is an irrepairable stripped truck; not an accident

Autos / Re: Eod Or Camry by ib612(m): 2:05am On Nov 25, 2009
When you compare these tow cars it kind of sound funny because they both have their respective problems. Toyota rusts out so easily and consumes more fuel compared to accord. The basis of assuring that you get a better value for your money is by making constant and schedule maintenance of your car. Even if you use a Toyota landcruiser it may not perform to your expectation if you fail to take proper procedural maintenance. These two cars rank at per.
Car Talk / Re: Brand New Kia Cerato Vs Used Japanese by ib612(m): 1:49am On Nov 25, 2009
The costs compared to other things in play, like durability, performance, expected life usage and , of course 9ja road all these would help shapen your decision on what you're getting. If a cerato that has less power, performance, versatility will costs me 2.5m naira and i can buy a 2005 -2006 highlander for the same amount or a 2007 accord or camry, i'll rather go for the later; this is my frank and honest opinion. All these vehicles i mentioned are uni-body system.
Autos / Re: Cost Of Car Shipment To Nigeria? by ib612(m): 2:47pm On Oct 19, 2009
The answer is what kind of car is been cleared. Don't be surprised by that amount of 650,000. Smaller cars, like 1999/00 camry or accord costs considerably less.

Dav.e:

The best deal, my opinion, is to avoid Cotonou. Why? you'll eventually run into problem with the customs in 9ja unless you have the custom duties paid for the car. Nja cleared vehicles are better and comes with rest of mind.
For any assistance, please call : 1 416 939 1886 or kolaotedola@hotmail.com; kolaotedola@yahoo.ca
Autos / Re: Cost Of Car Shipment To Nigeria? by ib612(m): 4:13am On Oct 02, 2009
Dave
Where are you buying from?
What's the price you got in Cotonou?
Buying a 2008, 4cly or 6cly, from U.S or Canada costs you $12000
Shipping, RORO, via ACL, costs you $1200
Clearing, well let Femi answer that one
