Education / Re: UNILAG Will Only Admit 8,000 Out Of 32,000 Applicants - VC by ibadanfinest(m): 9:00am On Nov 10, 2017
Businessideas:
See levels!
UNILAG remains the University of First Choice and the nation's pride.
Only UNILAG can do this.
These are candidates with 6 credits in O'level at ONE sitting and scored above 200 yet some universities admit failed jamb candidates with less than 150,accept candidates with 5 credits at two sittings yet wondered why their school product are inferior and substandard graduates.
Only UNILAG maintains the highest criteria for admission of 6 credits at single sitting yet 32,000 candidates still qualified because the school raised it's bar of admission.
Only the best of the best is good enough for UNILAG to continue in its tradition of excellence.
That's why some people beef UNILAG for life.

Bros it is 5 credit in one sitting. There is no university in Nigeria whose admission requirement is 6 credit in one sitting.

Unilag post utme cut off is 40. Ife and Ibadan will never accept 49.9999 for Yoruba education.

lastly where is the facility to train 8000 fresher's. the available hostel capacity for all the students nearing 40000 does not exceed 6000.

The school is admitting way above capacity. They should learn from UI whose admission is largely based on merit

UI this, UI that. Stop overating an institution that's till basking in past glory.
uniabuja and uniport don't make use of catchment

Unilag can be better but as it is UI is ahead. It may not be every aspect but certainly most aspect. Unilag is a school that admit way beyond its capacity, plus their admission process is kinda not that clean. so its not basking in past glory bro. That's not to say it cannot do better than its currently doing. I have experience of both schools

Our school systems has nothing to write home about, admission based on who brought you, admitting close to 300 students in department without facilities for conducive learning environment, no good supervision for lecturer's and expecting to produced first class.

Are you referring to unilag

FunkyAlhaji2015:
The same students they want to withdraw will get 1st class in foreign universities. Something is fundamentally wrong with our educational system. When you have over 300 students in one class, why will they not fail? No close student teacher interaction, lack of adequate evaluation, poor learning tool etc. Most lecturers want students to fail for fun.

Bros UI on the average has less than 50 student per department. the school has over 50 dept and admitted less than 3000.

IF UI can votr for continuation then the strike should continue. most UI, Unilag , Oau lecturer childrens school in either of the 3 schools. They want the best for their children. If care is not taken, a time will come where companies in Nigeria will stop employing Nigerian graduate

We have potential to produce palm oil in large quantity but we have all left village for city and even private investors are not interested in investing in tech that will increase production.

For your info we actually import palm oil, groundnut oil etc

Education / Re: Nigeria Must Begin To Appreciate Its Thinkers —professor Raji-oyelade by ibadanfinest(m): 8:21am On Aug 21, 2017
well said professor Raji of the federal republic of Nigeria. Thanks for making us proud. Our academicians though are not properly funded but the thing is they are not maximizing the fund available to them. We need creativity in the management of fund given to institution no matter how smal they are.

Even my UI is not managing its fund properly same goes to Great Ife, Unilag is the height of it.

I disagree with you. If she is not delivering result, she wouldn't be getting appointments. Remember when Buhari took office, for 6 months no one managed the financial sector and you know where it landed the country and the saying by APC and most Nigerians mostly of Northern extraction. Financial management is not where you introduce someone to take over just like we do in Nigeria. One ought to be grown in it.

I believe we are saying same thing. In a saner clime. she most likely would have perform. She has done well in big financial firm which is micro in nature. I will continue to say this. She is a brilliant and intelligent woman, but she cannot solve our problem. our system will not let her help us. if she is in this administration, she cannot make it better

When we call Northerners parasites, they will want to ask why. Look at the asset they sent away because of bigotry. Nigerian economy bleeds because of the action they took

She cannot continue to serve forever. personally Prof Soludo is a better economist because of the way he turn around the financial sector. Dr Iweala is only doing well for herself not the whole economy. its not like she did excellently as the minister of finance.

She is an asset I agree but an asset to herself

He is a silly guy. Every student that has passed through the law school knows how strict and difficult the school is in adhering to the principle of being " Fit and Proper" doctrine. Student have been expelled for doing less. All he had to do was wait till he wrote his exams, pass the bar exam, become a Legal practitioner and protest against the welfare conditions of the school as a LAWYER and not Law school student. As a Lawyer he could channel his protest through the Bar association as a lawyer, go to the Judicial council as a Lawyer and recruit more Lawyers to help him out and succeed in his cause. How was he supposed to win a challenge against Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Law professors of over 30 years and the Nigerian Law School as a whole when he is just a Law school Undergrad.

Sometimes all these so called Campus Activists don't know their boundaries. they think the same way they do Aluta in school to cause mayhem and school closure is the same way they can cause Mayhem in professional institutions that issue professional degrees. His expulsion would never be revoked and he has just wasted his parents school fees for nothing.

Onisokuso, will he have a locus standing as a lawyer.

While I applaud the aspect that implies caution to their disrespectful youths, I however, condemn, in strong terms, their quest for restructuring. What is this madness about restructuring? Our past leaders were not foolish to have given us a constitution to strengthen the bond of our coexistence. That constitution did not capture restructuring and anybody championing this strange and wicked taboo should be charged for treason.

Bros go and find out what 'dictrine of necessity' means.
