That is not my view but the consensus amongst scholars and historians

Egyptian history is well recorded especially the era of the Rameses and there is no record of the events of Moses. Secondly, the Egyptian empire controlled Canaan which was it's vassal and Egyptian military presence was always in Canaan so there is no way the Hebrews will escape Egypt into Canaan where Egypt is present. The benevolence of Egypt is what kept all the tribes in Canaan existing and they were all vassals of Egypt including the Philistines, Canaanites and Hebrews. In around 700 BC when the Assyrians defeated the Egyptians in Canaan, they carted away Israel (Samaria) and the Philistines, never to be seen in history again. Judah only survived by paying ruinous taxes to the Assyrians, and about 300 years later, when the Babylonians defeated the Assyrians, they carted away Judah before Cyrus the Great returned them a century later.

Judah cannot write a history 600 years after Samaria has been carted away in the language of their current Master (Greek) that contradicts the documented written history of Egypt who control the area and don't know any Moses, any plagues or any escape from Egypt. They only know Judah, Samaria, Philistines and Canaanites as their vassals who pay small tax to them and carry out their bidding, and when they step out of line, Egyptian military will bring them back in line.

I hear you, but it's still penny wise pound foolish. NYSC should be treated as a one-off life event which budget provision should be made for like a wedding or funeral. The speed of the ransom payment in less than one week shows money dey with proper planning. The kidnappers were calling N950m for 20 students initially, and in less than one week, the matter is done and dusted. Let's even say they reduced it to N5m per child, that payment was too quick. You will usually spend the first 3 days pricing with the kidnappers, then another couple weeks to raise the money but these guys done finish the whole matter in few days.

As example, when my cousin was traveling to Osun, she was going by bus. I quickly called her and her father and saw that it's just complacency setting in. This is around that Owo massacre time. Within few minutes, we have arranged contributions for her to travel by air, and the agreement is that she should stay there throughout NYSC until we book return flight than risk coming back and forth by road. As a child in her early 20s whose brain cannot comprehend entering plane or spending few hundred k on it, it's up to those with means within the family to guide, before ransom bill of millions drop.
