swiz123: Your knowledge on cost management is abysmal.
Are amortized costs not relevant when balancing books? Inter backed Conte with the little they have, signed players they hoped he'd utilize and now, Conte is no where to be found.
How does one even accurately amortize cost in football? Isn't amortization premised on the useful life of an assest? How then can you estimate a players usefulness?
kolarov was signed and later Young was signed too.. Young plays as a wing back. Where is Conte that Ashley Young was amortized for? What rubbish is this? The length of the players contract is the amortisation period. Who sent you to quantify "useful" in this case? Stop arguing over your head. Aside your abysmal understanding of accounting, I'm failing to understand your gripe on the football side. Someone has a cheap Kolarov and bought a cheap Young and used these two old cargoes to win the league and you are talking rubbish about the players not having sell on value. Someone had a cheap Darmian, was given money to buy an expensive Hakimi, used them to win the league, then flipped Hakimi for good profit, and you are still moaning. Guy, just keep quiet. You have no point. |

Tyche: Could the crash in gold futures be fueling Betcy rise? What's your thought @Ibime, @Jedisco They are correlated but not causative. The causative factor is the economy. Crash in gold is due to the economy improving, great job figures and the S&P hitting ATH. When people are confident in the economy, gold crashes and riskier assets like stocks rise. Crypto is seen as the riskiest asset class. When institutions are confident, they divest out of gold into stocks and leave small for crypto. When the economy starts looking shaky, they first sell crypto, then stocks and buy treasury bonds and gold. There really is negative correlation between gold and crypto for now because Crypto has not attained the status of a defensive asset like gold, it is still a speculative asset, infact the most speculative of them all. |

Emmynator: Barca's mess is really really deep, at this rate they can't register depay and Aguero.
LA liga rules cap wages to revenue ratio at 70%, and Barcelona were at 115% with Messi, now that Messi is gone they are at 95%, they still need to offload 25% more percent in order to be able to register new players.
There is definitely no way they would have been able to keep Messi, Spanish rules meant that messi can't take more than 50% pay cut, meaning if he did, they would have been at 105% still needing to cut 95% to 60% to accommodate Messi.
Barcelona are in deep shit, they made losses of about half a billion euros last season, now none of their players can command half of the amount they were bought (in part to the fact that clubs are very aware of their desperation and would naturally want to take advantage of it), even if Barcelona agrees to sell as bonanza package, are these players willing to take pay cut at another club? Which club will be willing to pay umtiti, coutinho and dembele their current wages.
I wager that it will take Barcelona some years to recover from this mess. Their players will also be demotivated from all the crap that's going on. Abeg who we fit buy from Barca for cheap? Shey we should try for Pedri? |

One key thing I got to absorb from Jedisco writings is how coins in the same sector pump together and how whales love liquidity. You can see this in PSG volume against USDT today of $300m, making the top ten. You can also see all the other football coins with good liquidity and pumping together with PSG including Barcelona who are the ones that lost Messi and are in dire straits as a club. Crypto is a funny game. Often it's not about fundamentals but how narrative drives liquidity toward coins and the multiplier effect. Half these people pumping these football coins probably know little about football, they are just attracted to liquidity, that's why a club with wretched fundamentals like Barca is pumping.
Same reason why gaming coins pump together, NFT pumps together, Layer 1s pump one after the other etc. With ETH pumping now, you can expect a counternarrative for ADA to pump assuming BTC holds form.

swiz123: You are talking about leaving them with a positive net spend..... Why are they selling their top talents to balance books? What happened to Erickson, Sanchez, Kwadwo Asamoah, Vidal who all earn hefty salaries... Do you think Inter wouldn't offload these deadwoods if they had the chance and keep their Lukaku, Hakimi and Lautaro? Stop talking rubbish. Kwadwo Asamoah was signed in 2018 before Conte and left in 2020. The rest are players they got for next to nothing never with the intention to sell but to make up the squad, with an amortised cost they expected to bear till the end of contract. Reason they got these players is they didn't have money. Only a mumu will be expecting Chelsea to recoup transfer fee for Thiago Silva. I have laid out Ashley Young's yearly cost for you. Tell me where you can get such a cost in football. Aston Villa who have now signed Ashley Young are not stüpid. They need a squad player to cover their fullbacks and have factored Ashleys cost till retirement. |

in this data, UK households were divided into 5 equally-sized groups (or ‘quintiles’) based on their income in the 3 years to March 2019, an average of 76% of Pakistani households were in the 2 lowest income quintiles (after housing costs were deducted) – this was the highest percentage out of all ethnic groups over half of households from the Bangladeshi, Asian Other, Black and Other ethnic groups were in the 2 lowest income quintiles (after housing costs) 42% of White British households were in the 2 highest income quintiles (after housing costs) – the highest percentage out of all ethnic groups 10% of Bangladeshi and Pakistani households were in the 2 highest income quintiles (after housing costs) – the lowest percentages out of all ethnic groups
How many percent of black households are in the highest income quintiles Ibime? Give us Yankee own. Same sort of demographics - mostly from former slave colonies, low educational attainment historically etc Canada should have the highest of the three as they have high percentage of African immigration among their black population. |

You can only say Visa restrictions stop some Nigerians from meeting the required threshold (used to be around £35k salary) for a working visa. Since Brexit, you get one year to meet that threshold after an undergraduate degree, and you get a years visa for every year of postgraduate study giving you more time to meet the threshold requirements. I have a cousin doing PHD and he will have 3 years to find a job at that salary that will keep him here. |

swiz123:
.... So you think I wouldn't know Icardi, Joao Mario, Miranda, Hendernovic, De vrij, Antonio Candreva, Brozovic, Perisic ( not sure though).
These were Inter's top players before Conte came. Icardi made way for Lukaku and Hakimi was also signed. Both players were not cheap. Hakimi particularly was in red hot form before moving to Inter. He maintained his form so his big money move to PSG shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Lukaku also was a big money signing who unfortunately for Inter being sold at his peak. ( No thanks to at least 25 useless signings that Conte made to steal a living off Inter) ...
Lautaro was a very promising talent but I don't know where you got this £80m from, God!!!...
Why can't Inter make money off those fringe players Conte signed? Abi Ashley Young collecting £91k wage no be player? Where were these players before Conte? You must have googled to remind yourself of them, or been reminded when you saw them playing under Conte. I even forgot Joao Mario existed till you reminded me just now. Ashley Young was not on any £91k. He was on £50k and they signed him for £1.5m. Amortise that over 18 months and you have an expenditure of £3.25m per year on a league winning fullback. That's an extremely cheap amortised cost to run a squad. He had to build the squad with these type of players because Inter money did not stretch much past Lukaku. For comparison, Villa paid £7m loan fee for Ross Barkley and his full year salary of £5m. That's £12m amortised which is the going amortisation rate to run a squad on average players these days. For Lukaku, take his £100m transfer fee, divide by 5 years contract and add £10m annual salary - Lukakus yearly cost that Roman has committed to is £30m. Finally, Lautaro Martinez was nobody and barely scored 6 goals in the season before Conte met him. Spurs and Arsenal now bidding 70m for him. I expect it will land somewhere around £80m given Barca considered buying him for €100m Think well before making scattergun criticisms. Conte will be a legend anyday, leaving them with a title and a positive net spend after their business is done this summer. |

Like you Auntie Patience said Kontinuuu. Vice Principal, kontinuu You are mixing issues. Not to hold brief but the picanninies was 20 years ago. The letter boxes was an article he wrote as a backbench MP criticising Denmark's ban on the Burkha. This was after Jack Straw a Labour MP refused to speak to woman wearing a burkha until she takes it off. While he said it's aesthetically unpleasing, and he wouldn't want to let someone in his office with a balaclava, same way having the Burkha on looks like speaking to someone through a letterbox but he will defend Muslim women's rights to wear it. The reason there were that many people there in the first place is people felt comfortable to live there without facing prejudice and such. I'm sure you know about the great migration from the South.
