Mathew 3 vs 16-17 that's bible on why we call Him Son of God.

With what you have said now, is He less influential to Muhammed?
Your quran actually says "He is coming back to defeat the devil, right?
grin

I also noticed you place the quran higher than the bible.
Because you just said " quran cleared the misconceptions about Him.
So I should take the quran and neglect my own faith?
We are comparing both Holy books.. What they both say about about Jesus and Muhammed.
Let's see who is more influential.

You clearly do not understand the word influential.
What you claim of him are all just one contradictions after another.
If we quote what Jesus say and what you Christians say about him you will see a clear difference of interpretation.
Jesus never claimed to be to be begotten son of God.
Even the bible shows how God had sons by the tonnes.

check these ones out from your Bible.

Genesis 6:2
that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.

Believers As Sons Of God
Romans 8:16
The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,
Israel As Sons Of God
Jeremiah 31:20
"Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a delightful child? Indeed, as often as I have spoken against him, I certainly still remember him; Therefore My heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him," declares the LORD.

1 Chronicles 22:10
'He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.'

1 Chronicles 28:6
"He said to me, 'Your son Solomon is the one who shall build My house and My courts; for I have chosen him to be a son to Me, and I will be a father to him.

Job 1:6
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them.

Job 2:1
Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them to present himself before the LORD.

Job 38:1-7
Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said, "Who is this that darkens counsel By words without knowledge? "Now gird up your loins like a man, And I will ask you, and you instruct Me! read more.
"Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding, Who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the line on it? "On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Psalm 2:7
"I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, 'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.

Hosea 1:10
Yet the number of the sons of Israel Will be like the sand of the sea, Which cannot be measured or numbered; And in the place Where it is said to them, "You are not My people," It will be said to them, "You are the sons of the living God."

Matthew 5:9
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

What did the quran say about Jesus?
Pls
The Qur'aan cleared the misconception held about him in many verses.

Chief of which is that Jesus is not the son of God.
He was born without any male intervention.
He spoke to the people from the cradle as an infant defending his mother.
God gave him the power to perform miracles of quickening the dead, healing those born blind and the lepers and telling people what they had in their house of food.
He was not crucified or killed on the cross.
He is a messenger and a prophet of God sent to the children of Israel.
He commanded his people to worship one God (which is greatest of commandment in the bible which he said was the key to Salvation in the bible. Read Mark 12:28-30)
He prophesied the coming Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him)

MrSensor:
read your Quran and Our Lord and Savior is mentioned there. read the Bible your Muhammad is not mentioned. Brain-washed is the problems. Its still early for you to repent. Bye
if mentioning of names is the bases for ranking somebody higher than the other using the Qur'aan do you know Pharaoh was mentioned more than Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) in the Qur'aan?

See, let's cut this crap and say things the way they are.
I believe in Jesus whole heatedly as the messenger and prophet of His Lord who sent him. I do not believe he (Jesus) is God nor my personal saviour .You better follow his way by becoming a Muslim whom the Comforter(Muhammad ,peace and blessings be upon him) has came to complete the message as the Last and final messenger of God almighty.

Jesus!!!

What's influence?
Again, can you really be popular and not influence people in a way?
I even agree more on being influential yet less popular.

Jesus is both; influential and popular
Let's compare the teachings of Jesus and that of Muhammad (peace be up on them both) and see who amongst then as really influenced humanity, though we Muslims hold that they brought the same primary message of worshipping One God and following their way of worship.

During Jesus life time we know from biblical reports that he did the following:

Believing God sent him (read John 5:30)

He believed he was a messenger of God(but you call him God)

He did not do any miracle by himself (You will be surprised, even the resurrection of Lazarus proved that he did not do any miracle by himself)

He never eat pig.

He never built a church where he collects all forms of tithes and sowing of seeds.

He never did songs of praises before or after preaching with choir masters and mistresses (which you people do in the name of God)

He never asked for tithes from the congregation whether poor or not well to do.

He never shook hands with women (which you people do in the name of God looks at the heart)

He wore long flowing clothes( like we Muslims do wearing the kaftan or jalaabia)

He kept his beard (You shave yours, which most pastors do)

The teachings of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) are so numerous that I will cite a few well known ones.

Worshipped one God(which we do)

praying five times daily( which you know us for)

he is messenger of God(which we all believe)

Warned against fornication and adultery (which you all know us for)

Kept his beard(which some Muslims do, but those who don't do it are not really committed) .

Prohibited intoxicants for his followers (which you know us for, but some Muslims still do it out of imitation of you people or weak faith)

He encouraged marriage(which you know us for,one can marry up to four wives)

He warned against shaking the opposite sex(some Muslims do while other Muslims do not do it, but with some level of shame) .

And bring all your Christain bethren together and the Muslims and compare them and come back to tell me the lies you have being spewing.

You think I care about Muhammad or the quoran. He is greater to you but not to me and other Christians or other religions. This isn’t a fight. I just replied a guy who thinks his prophet is greater because he is a Muslim. It’s only fair to say Jesus is greater to me. I bet the Hindus think lord ram is greater. Please don’t stress me this morning. Muhammad is great to you, that’s fine. Are you happy, now
Madam no vex.
Muhammad(peace be upon me) is greater to me same way Micheal H hart said, same with Jules Masserman in Jewish psychologist, George Bernard Shaw British playwright and other unbiased Christian and Jewish scholars say.
We are speaking objectively not through emotions or blind love.

I am not fighting you madam, I am only correcting a misconception. Sorry ma, If I sounded out of place. It is just my passion for being objective that is what is driving me.

This is the same problem I have with internet generated data.
What about those who don't have access to internet facilities or even to this website?
These persons named above Muhammad (peace be up on him)are no doubt known. We are talking about influence in character and ideology.
In the world today we all know that Muslims don't condone fornication, imbibe alcohol, interest ,neglecting the five daily prayer, worship idols and all other acts which was clearly the influence and teachings of Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The individualswho praised Muhammad(peace be upon him) above any other name are not Muslims neither did the Arabs bribed them .They came to their various conclusions out of their own volition.

Using a website were only a limited number of persons out of the billions of individuals using the internet to come to such conclusion is not only shallow but lack the credibility of a well researched material in what is visible to all.

Go to the interior villages of this world or go back to pre-internet times you will see the real oga in charge.

All these spurious claims can only lift a fly were ignoramus abound like the ones on Nairaland who thinks elections are won by the number of likes one is able to garner.

Try something else buddy, because this your claim won't sell.

Even after two thousand years, he still moves stuffs. Mohammed came a thousand years after Jesus and can still not erase no meet up with His (Jesus') impact and followership.

I am sure Constantine and Martin Luther would contest with Mohammed if the list is reviewed.

Christians don't know mohammed as a prophet but the Quran mentioned Jesus. so who is popular among themhuhhuh?
mind you, we are talking about popularity, not whose teaching is correct.
Popularity is different from influence.
One maybe popular but not influential.
Do you know how many leaders and presidents are taking after the teachings and to some extent the life style of Muhammad( peace be upon him) since time immemorial?

Tell me one person that has influence humanity that objectively.
Just one.

If the late Michael Jackson had created his own religion,, he would have had more influence than the one Muhammad created..

People underestimate the amount of influence he had when he was at his prime,, at a time, Michael Jackson was the most famous and most influential during his prime days,, even more influential than religion itself..

People fainted just by watching him sing..
We are talking serious issues here you are talking trash.
He may be a popular musician but not influential as a human being.
Influence is different from being popular or well known.
I can name people who are as popular as Micheal Jackson.

Why, because you are a Muslim? What makes him greater than others? You shouldn’t start an unhealthy religion debate. Muslims recognize Muhammad, but he isn’t in the Bible but the quoran has Jesus, Moses and others.
It is really amazing how you think you know something only to reveal your ignorance on a grand scale.
Do you know the reason why the name of Jesus and Moses(peace be up on them both) were mentioned in the Qur'aan?
Do you know that a chapter is named after the mother if Jesus Mary(Mariam).
If we were to play the name mentioning card,do you know the name of Jesus is less mentioned compared to that of the Devil(Iblis,Shaytaan).

Why are you people fond of talking from. both sides of your mouth?

Yesterday he was a human who 'died' for three days, today he is now the Lord that tasted death because of the sins of humanity.

I can't seem to get you guys.
Does God die? if the answer is no , then Jesus is not God because you say that God is everliving i. e one who can't undergo death.
If Jesus 'died' then he is human not God, as we all know God can't and will never die.
What about God becoming human? Read the book of Numbers 23:19 or there about.

William Montgomery Watt (1909- ) Professor (Emeritus) of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Edinburgh.
q "His readiness to undergo persecutions for his beliefs, the high moral character of the men who believed in him and looked up to him as leader, and the greatness of his ultimate achievement - all argue his fundamental integrity. To suppose Muhammad an impostor raises more problems than it solves. Moreover, none of the great figures of history is so poorly appreciated in the West as Muhammad." [ Mohammad At Mecca , Oxford, 1953, p. 52]

Alphonse de Lamartine (1790-1869) French poet and statesman.
q "Philosopher, orator, apostle, legislator, warrior, conqueror of ideas, restorer of rational dogmas, of a cult without images; the founder of twenty terrestrial empires and of one spiritual empire, that is Muhammad. As regards all standards by which human greatness may be measured, we may well ask, is there any man greater than he?"[Translated from Histoire De La Turquie , Paris, 1854, vol. II, pp. 276-277]

Reverend Bosworth Smith (1794-1884) Late Fellow of Trinity College, Oxford.
q "… he was Caesar and Pope in one; but he was Pope without the Pope's pretensions, and Caesar without the legions of Caesar. Without a standing army, without a bodyguard, without a palace, without a fixed revenue, if ever any man had the right to say that he ruled by a right Divine, it was Mohammed; for he had all the power without its instruments and without its supports." Mohandas KaramchandGandhi (1869-1948) Indian thinker, statesman, and nationalist leader.
q "....I became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the prophet, the scrupulous regard for his pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. These, and not the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every trouble." [ Young India (periodical), 1928, Volume X]

David George Hogarth (1862-1927) English archaeologist, author, and keeper of the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.
q “Serious or trivial, his daily behaviour has instituted a canon which millions observe this day with conscious mimicry. No one regarded by any section of the human race as Perfect Man has been imitated so minutely. The conduct of the Founder of Christianity has not so governed the ordinary life of His followers. Moreover, no Founder of a religion has been left on so solitary an eminence as the Muslim Apostle.”
[ Arabia , Oxford, 1922, p. 52]

Washington Irving (1783-1859) Well-known as the “first American man of letters".
q “He was sober and abstemious in his diet, and a rigorous observer of fasts. He indulged in no magnificence of apparel, the ostentation of a petty mind; neither was his simplicity in dress affected, but the result of a real disregard to distinction from so trivial a source ... In his private dealings he was just. He treated friends and strangers, the rich and poor, the powerful and the weak, with equity, and was beloved by the common people for the affability with which he received them, and listened to their complaints ... His military triumphs awakened no pride nor vain glory, as they would have done had they been effected for selfish purposes. In the time of his greatest power he maintained the same simplicity of manners and appearance as in the days of his adversity. So far from affecting regal state, he was displeased if, on entering a room, any unusual testimonial of respect were shown to him." [Life of Mahomet , London, 1889, pp. 192-3, 199]

And although in what I put to you I shall say many things which may be familiar to many, yet I myself feel whenever I re-read them, a new way of admiration, a new sense of reverence for that mighty Arabian teacher." Edward Gibbon (1737-1794) Considered the greatest British historian of his time.
q "His (i.e., Muhammad's) memory was capacious and retentive, his wit easy and social, his imagination sublime, his judgment clear, rapid and decisive. He possessed the courage of both thought and action."[ History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, London, 1838, vol.5, p.335]

These are the most influential people of all of human history. This means that the individuals on this list have had a significant effect on how regular people live their lives today and have had a large impact on how modern society works. The names on this list include religious figures, scientists and inventors, and some of the most important leaders in world history.

What makes an individual worthy of a spot on a list of the most influential people ever? Certainly, some of the greatest minds of all time deserve to be ranked highly. Examples include Leonardo da Vinci, Sir Isaac Newton, and certainly Albert Einstein. Each one of these incredible people used the power of their minds to change the world. Not surprisingly, several names on this list are also among the most famous role models we'd like to meet in person.

Can anyone argue that Dangote, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg aren't among the most influential people?

10. Plato
was a philosopher, as well as mathematician, in Classical Greece. He is considered an essential figure in the development of philosophy, especially the Western tradition, and he founded the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in the Western world. Along with his teacher Socrates and his most famous student, Aristotle, Plato laid the foundations of Western philosophy and science. Alfred North White head once noted: "the safest general characterization of the European philosophical tradition is that it consists of a series of footnotes to Plato." Plato's dialogues have been used to teach a range of subjects, including philosophy, logic, ethics, rhet

9. Alexander the Great
Alexander III of Macedon, commonly known as Alexander the Great, was a King of the Ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon and a member of the Argead dynasty. Born in Pella in 356 BC, Alexander succeeded his father, Philip II, to the throne at the age of twenty. He spent most of his ruling years on an unprecedented military campaign through Asia and north-east Africa, until by the age of thirty he had created one of the largest empires of the ancient world, stretching from Greece to Egypt and into Northwest India. He was undefeated in battle and is considered one of history's most successful military commanders. During his youth, Alexander was tutored by the philosopher Aristotle until the age.

8. Charles Darwin
Charles Robert Darwin, FRS was an English naturalist and geologist, best known for his contributions to evolutionary theory. He established that all species of life have descended over time from common ancestors, and in a joint publication with Alfred Russel Wallace introduced his scientific theory that this branching pattern of evolution resulted from a process that he called natural selection, in which the struggle for existence has a similar effect to the artificial selection involved in selective breeding. Darwin published his theory of evolution with compelling evidence in his 1859 book On the Origin of Species, overcoming scientific rejection of earlier concepts of transmutation.

7. Galileo Galilei
Galileo Galilei, often known mononymously as Galileo, was an Italian physicist, mathematician, engineer, astronomer, and philosopher who played a major role in the scientific revolution during the Renaissance. His achievements include improvements to the telescope and consequent astronomical observations and support for Copernicanism. Galileo has been called the "father of modern observational astronomy", the "father of modern physics", the "father of science", and "the father of modern science". His contributions to observational astronomy include the telescopic confirmation of the phases of Venus, the discovery of the four largest satellites

6. Muhammad
Muhammad, full name Abū al-Qāsim Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib ibn Hāshim, from Mecca, unified Arabia into a single religious polity under Islam. Believed by Muslims and Bahá'ís to be a prophet and messenger of God, Muhammad is almost universally considered by Muslims as the last prophet sent by God to mankind. While non-Muslims generally regard Muhammad as the founder of Islam, Muslims consider him to have restored the unaltered original monotheistic faith of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets in Islam. Born approximately in 570 CE in the Arabian city of Mecca.

5. Aristotle
Aristotle was a Greek philosopher and scientist born in the Macedonian city of Stagira, Chalkidice, on the northern periphery of Classical Greece. His father, Nicomachus, died when Aristotle was a child, whereafter Proxenus of Atarneus became his guardian. At eighteen, he joined Plato's Academy in Athens and remained there until the age of thirty-seven. His writings cover many subjects – including physics, biology, zoology, metaphysics, logic, ethics, aesthetics, poetry, theater, music, rhetoric, linguistics, politics and government – and constitute the first comprehensive system of Western philosophy.

4. Leonardo da Vinci
Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci was an Italian polymath, painter, sculptor, architect, musician, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, and writer. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time and perhaps the most diversely talented person ever to have lived. His genius, perhaps more than that of any other figure, epitomized the Renaissance humanist ideal. Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the Renaissance Man, a man of "unquenchable curiosity" and "feverishly inventive imagination".

3. Isaac Newton
Sir Isaac Newton PRS MP was an English physicist and mathematician who is widely recognised as one of the most influential scientists of all time and as a key figure in the scientific revolution. His book Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica, first published in 1687, laid the foundations for classical mechanics. Newton made seminal contributions to optics, and he shares credit with Gottfried Leibniz for the development of calculus. Newton's Principia formulated the laws of motion and universal gravitation, which dominated scientists' view of the physical universe for the next three centuries.

2. Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein was a German-born theoretical physicist. Einstein's work is also known for its influence on the philosophy of science. He developed the general theory of relativity, one of the two pillars of modern physics. Einstein is best known in popular culture for his mass–energy equivalence formula E = mc². He received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics for his "services to theoretical physics", in particular his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect, a pivotal step in the evolution of quantum theory. Near the beginning of his career, Einstein thought that Newtonian mechanics was no longer enough to reconcile the laws of classical mechanics with the laws of the electromagnetic field.

1. Jesus Christ
Jesus, also referred to as Jesus of Nazareth, is the central figure of Christianity, whom the teachings of most Christian denominations hold to be the Son of God. Christianity regards Jesus as the awaited Messiah of the Old Testament and refers to him as Jesus Christ, a name that is also used in non-Christian contexts. Virtually all modern scholars of antiquity agree that Jesus existed historically, although the quest for the historical Jesus has produced little agreement on the historical reliability of the Gospels and on how closely the biblical Jesus reflects the historical Jesus. Most scholars agree that Jesus was a Jewish rabbi from Galilee who preached his message orally.

Without a standing army, without a bodyguard, without a palace, without a fixed revenue, if ever any man had the right to say that he ruled by a right Divine, it was Mohammed; for he had all the power without its instruments and without its supports." Mohammed and Mohammedanism, London, 1874, p. 235]

Mohandas KaramchandGandhi
(1869-1948) Indian thinker, statesman, and nationalist leader.
q "....I became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life.

Edward Gibbon (1737-1794)
Considered the greatest British historian of his time.
q "The greatest success of Mohammad's life was effected by sheer moral force without the stroke of a sword."
[ History Of The Saracen Empire, London, 1870]

John William Draper (1811-1882) American scientist, philosopher, and historian.
q "Four years after the death of Justinian, A.D. 569, was born at Mecca, in Arabia the man who, of all men exercised the greatest influence upon the human race . . . Mohammed." [A History of the Intellectual Development of Europe , London, 1875, vol.1, pp. 329-330]

Annie Besant (1847-1933) British theosophist and nationalist leader in India. President of the Indian National Congress in 1917.
q "It is impossible for anyone who studies the life and character of the great Prophet of Arabia, who knows how he taught and how he lived, to feel anything but reverence for that mighty Prophet, one of the great messengers of the Supreme. And although in what I put to you I shall say many things which may be familiar to many, yet I myself feel whenever I re-read them, a new way of admiration, a new sense of reverence for that mighty Arabian teacher." [ The Life And Teachings Of Muhammad , Madras, 1932, p. 4]

Edward Gibbon (1737-1794) Considered the greatest British historian of his time.
q "His (i.e., Muhammad's) memory was capacious and retentive, his wit easy and social, his imagination sublime, his judgment clear, rapid and decisive. He possessed the courage of both thought and action."[ History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, London, 1838, vol.5, p.335]

Ibukunmer:
I don't really care much about either parties but I must commend Osinbajo for going back to the basics by fixing the right things.

Buhari epitomizes what's wrong with Nigeria when someone obviously more qualified and intelligent in the person of Osinbajo should've been the president.

In a sane country never mind developed country, IGP Idris would've been sacked as he has lost control of his men either willfully or due to incompetence. Too reactionary instead of proactive which is the last thing you need for police force dealing with dynamic crimes.

The curernt electoral system is not working as the best candidate are not filtering to the top due to lack of funds and tribalism. We need a change.
I don't really blame president Buhari.
I like him as a person, but I think those around him are making it difficult for him to see the true picture of things happening.
Buhari is honest as person, but the people around him are not sincere and trustworthy.
To may not know this until you attain a position of high regard you will come to see what I am saying.

OAP/Leader of the Free the Sheeple movement, Daddy Freeze, shared a video of Abuja-based clergyman, Biodun Fatoyinbo, asking students to sow seeds of N500k.

The video got a lot of reactions from many Nigerian celebrities, most of them shocked that he could ask students who are not working to sow that much as seed. One half of the singing duo, skuki, Peeshaun, alerted the EFCC over the video.

A group of Nigerian cultists arrested in Malaysia are currently undergoing interrogation by the Police, after a cult clash which saw them ripping out the intestines of a rival cult member.

The Nigerian Nationals arrested are reportedly members of the Vikings cult while their victim is of the .

The victim, identified as Ratty, had his intestines ripped out by the suspects, during the attack. He was later rushed to the hospital where he is recuperating.

I am yet to see what these so called cultist have really gained in life.
You live in fear(forget about the false sense of security they claim)
They are always on the run because somebody just fell somebody.
They are always looking behind their shoulders for fear of the unknown.
Always suspecting different persons.
Being a cultist is enough psychological prison itself.
And I am. wondering if anybody can be attracted to that which causes constant discomfort.

Kudos to the white man. Religion, race, tribe and political affiliations are secondary.
Maybe the religion you practice does not show compassion and sympathy. Mine(Islaam)tells me saving just one human life is similar to saving the whole world(Qur'aan 5:32)
Even humanity some of you try trump over religion does not come close to what my religion teaches me.
Blame people's attitude not religion.

You think Buhari has the interest of Nigerians at heart? then just wait and see how evil the man is, if given second tenure.

Buhari is the biggest thief!

What about calling you a bigger liar since you have no proof.
