Yes there are some rich spoilt children who become nuisances (eg cultists) but the fact remains that a majority of them are from poor families who no opportunity to empower themselves.

Imagine a case where a guys knocks at your door by 6am like he about to break it down. What's the problem? Oh sorry he says, my wife just put to bed and doesn't have N500 to pay the local birth attendant. And that's not the worst of it, the man already has a BATTALION of children at home. Almost none at school. This is not a made up story. It happens almost eveyday. Until we deal with the population issue especially if you have very poor source of income then the poverty issue will never abate

yes I agree with you ,but over population is one of the major problem of this country. Imagine a situation where by we are not over populated, things would have been better I.e enough resources to circulate to everyone and corruption will be reduced to an extent. A situation whereby a financially average couples have like 2 children, they will be capable of training those children and will not be termed poor. But if they have so many children, I don't think they can cater for those kids. This might make them to send them away as house helps which is also part of corruption.

Nigeria's problem is not population,but productivity.The US we are all fighting to go to is MORE populated than we are.Policies to increase the nations productivity is by far more important than regulating the non-criminal activities of people. Saudi-Arabia with a smaller population (30 million approx) than the US (325 Million) is not more productive,neither is Yemen (30 million approx) richer.

Just as @ helphelp said, An average boy can enter into camp, register, collect necessary docs and arrange any camp official to be out until the end of the orientation camp.

When I did my own service, I didnt even use up to a week in camp. I left. Some people even ghost the whole 1 year not to talk of 3 weeks of time wasting _bullshit.

1). What is the essence of having an official language in a multi-tribal and multi-religious country like ours?

2). Is it possible to have more than one official language?

3). Where we have two or more official languages, which shall be the medium of communication in national gatherings?

4). Where the official languages are two or more, in which of the languages shall official documents be made?

5). In such instance where the official languages are more than one, do you resort to interpretation for those not hearing what has been said in a national gatherings (e.g. National Executive Council meetings)?

6). Or are you one of the proponents that Arabic should intact be adopted as the sole official language because of the claim that "more of Arabic was spoken in Africa before English"

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), has warned importers of school uniform materials into Nigeria about some cancer-causing substances found in some school uniform materials made by two China based companies.

A statement issued by the Director-General of SON, Mr Osita Aboloma on Friday in Abuja, named the companies producing the materials as Sing Shun Fat School-Clothier Company and Zenith Uniform Company.

Aboloma said that the azo dyes found in some school uniforms in Hong Kong contained up to 173 milligrams and 41 milligrams per kilogram of the tested samples respectively.

He added that the amounts of the dye contained in the materials were well above the maximum allowed in the standard.

“Use of the 4-amino azo dyes have been banned in Europe, Japan and other parts of the world prior to the finding.

“Azo dyes could release carcinogenic substances known as aromatic amines when they mix with sweat, which accounted for the ban on the use of the dye in many countries of the world.”

The D-G advised importers of school uniform materials in Nigeria to endeavour to undergo the process of conformity assessment of such materials prior to import, through the SON off-shore Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP), to avoid bringing them to the country.

He further advised Nigerians to report any suspected uniform materials that may already be in the country to SON for necessary sampling, laboratory tests and analysis to be carried out at its Textile and Leather Laboratory in Kaduna for necessary regulatory action.

Aboloma added that all International Accredited Firms (IAFs) undertaking the off-shore Conformity Assessment Programme on behalf of SON all over the world have been put on alert regarding the cancer-causing substance in school uniform materials and other clothing materials to be imported into Nigeria.

SON is the body in charge of standardisation of all products in Nigeria
