OLAADEGBU: "Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered" (Hebrews 5:8 ).
What does it mean that Jesus learned obedience by the things He suffered? God doesn't know how to obey in the begining.why?.The constituent of obedience was not in Him in the begining(He's God and there was nobody to obey to in the begining) Since obedience is vital in His creation, one day He emptied Himself of His Divinity and became a man, created and establish obedience in the universe(philipains2:5-9). Creation was actually completed on the cross of Calvary whe He said "it is finish" and not in Eden. |

Christianity Etc › Poverty by ichuka(op): 12:43am On Oct 03, 2017 |
Rev3:17. The church in Laodicea said, "I am wealthy and have become rich and have need of nothing" (Rev. 3:17a).This does not refer to material riches, but to spiritual riches. She felt that she had something. But God said, "You...do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked"(v. 17b).Did she have something? Yes, but what she had was of no benefit to her.If she really had something, she should have rejoiced, yet she was wretched and miserable. She did not behave as if she had anything. Her wretchedness and misery tell others that she was poor. Poverty is always linked to blindness. Those who are spiritually poor are always blind. The blind ones always think that they are rich. Those who have not seen the cross think that they know the cross. Those who have not seen the kingdom think that they know the kingdom. Those who have not seen the Body of Christ think that they know the church. All those who think that they have something are poor. Whenever we truly see something,we will not dare to boast that we are rich.Whenever our eyes are opened,we will see that we are naked.Only the foolish ones boast of what they have.A Laodicean is poor, but does not see his own poverty. This is a warning to us. What is poverty?Poverty is not just a question of quantity but also a question of quality.First Corinthians 3 shows us the distinction between gold, silver, and precious stones, and the wood, grass, and stubble. Second Timothy 2 shows us the distinction between the vessels of honor and the vessels of dishonor.Such distinctions separate the poor ones from the rich ones.Even when we have something,we still have to ask what it is that we have.If all we have is a pile of wood, grass, and stubble,we are still poor.It is not enough for us to be a vessel;we still have to ask whether we are a wooden and earthen vessel or a gold and silver vessel. It is easy to be proud when we think that we have something. As long as we have something,we think that we are marvelous.Little do we know the kind of material that we have. This is poverty. Poverty also means superficiality, childishness, and immaturity.A rich life is a mature life. We have to realize that there is a difference between growth and maturity.A child grows year by year, but after he becomes an adult, the important matter is no longer growth; rather,it is maturity. If one has only a period of growth, his life is not yet rich enough. There must be a period of maturity before there can be riches. Those who take the initial period as the whole period are those who think that they have something;they are Laodiceans, and they are poor ones. Therefore, initial experiences always spoil us from having further experiences, shallow experiences hinder us from having deep experiences, and shallow knowledge hinders us from acquiring deep knowledge. |

PASTOR Enouch Adeboye has delivered a very powerful messages through his ministers to Nigerians on how to escape and overcome the ongoing hard times in Nigeria as a result of the present economic downturn. To survive the ongoing hard times when the government can no longer pay salaries of workers, Pastor Adeboye said they must henceforth continue to pay their tithes and vows to draw God's blessing upon their lives. The cleric reminded members of his church of the dangers inherent in not paying tithes and vows which he said amounts to robbing God. Said the man of God, “Go back and tell your members to stop robbing God. Tell them not to fail in the payment of their tithes and vows.
“The reason you must pay your tithes and vows,” he stressed, “is that nobody knows when trouble will come. When trouble comes, God has a defence for His people, but such defence cannot be extended to those who are disobedient to His Word.” Continuing he the pastors to ensure they spread this message to all the members of the church stressing that “God loves a cheerful giver and that they should make sure they do not owe or rob God.” He rounded off by drawing inspiration from several biblical passages: “Not only must they give to God cheerfully, they must at all time honour Him,” the cleric added. With due respect Sir, The ransom of a Christain has been FULLY PAID 2000years ago.any Christain trying to pay is saying Calvary is not enough. who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 1Peter 1:5

Christianity Etc › God's Keeping Power. by ichuka(op): 3:05pm On Sep 30, 2017 |
Num. 13:25-33; 14:4-10; Josh. 14:6-12. It is a distressing fact that some Christians believe in God's saving power, but they do not believe in His keeping power. They have received God's saving grace but have not yet received His keeping grace. They do not realize that He who is the Giver of grace is also the One who maintains us in His grace.Let us see from the Scriptures how we who have been saved by God can be kept by Him. Joshua 14:11 says, "I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me:as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in."This is Caleb's word."To go out, and to come in" refers to everyday life; "for war"refers to life under exceptional circumstances. Caleb's strength was the same as it was in the day he spoke with Moses,in coping with the ordinary demands of daily life as well as with the demands of life under conditions of special stress.Though forty years had elapsed in the interval, he was as strong as he had been in his earlier days. Here we see God's keeping power.Caleb's strength was the same on that day as it was forty years earlier. He was as strong at this time as he was then.He was no less vigorous at eighty-five than he had been at forty. There is only one explanation for this; he had been kept by God.We are totally unable to keep ourselves in the grace of God.There is no guarantee that even five years after we have been saved we will be found in the measure of faith we had in our earlier Christian life.We cannot abide in the grace of God by our own effort; He alone can maintain us in His grace. What was the condition for Caleb to experience God's keeping power? Let us consider this matter for a minute.Joshua 14:14 says, "He wholly followed the Lord God of Israel."And how did he wholly follow the Lord? We are told in Numbers 13 and 14. Numbers 13:30 says, "Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once and possess it;for we are well able to prevail.""We are well able to prevail."A person who wholly follows the Lord is one who believes that the promises of God are trustworthy, that He is with His people, and that they are well able to overcome. Many people believe, but their faith is a vacillating faith. They are very timid. They sing their song of praise, but though the words are right, there is something wrong with the tune.In Caleb's case it was not so; he sang the right words in the right tune. He said, "Let us go up at once." A person who wholly follows the Lord and reckons Him to be trustworthy is one who does the will of God and does it at once. What about the ten spies? They looked at the inhabitants of the land and saw that they were "men of great size" and their cities were "fortified and very large." They looked at themselves too, and in their own sight they were "like grasshoppers."Their eyes were fixed on the difficulties before them.Herein lies the reason why so many Christians fail to experience God's keeping power—difficulties fill their vision. If one keeps looking at his difficulties, he will surely find no hope in the situation.God does not want us to set our eyes on the mountains obstructing our path;He wants us to say to the mountains: "Be taken up and cast into the sea" (Mark 11:23). It is useless to set our eyes on the mountains. The more we look at the mountains, the higher they become. Many people cannot overcome because their eyes are always set on their failures. Many people are prepared ahead of time for their failures.Defeat is certain if we are constantly contemplating defeat. Many experiences of failure come because we anticipate them. We may think that we can deal with other problems but that there is no way that we can deal with one particular problem. In so thinking, we have paved the way for defeat as soon as the problem comes to us.As soon as our eyes are set on ourselves,we will surely fail.If God is to save us, He must first save our eyes from looking at ourselves to looking at His promises. We are courageous only as long as we keep God's promises in view.Once we see His promises, we will see that we can overcome! So many of God's people lack the faith that characterized Caleb;they concentrate their thoughts on the seriousness of their illnesses, the intensity of their scars, and the insurmountable nature of their difficulties.Yet how many are there whose eyes are set on God's promises? Those who do not fear "the children of Anak" are "well able to prevail." Caleb requested Joshua to appoint Hebron as his portion; Hebron was a great city among the Anakim, and the great man among the Anakim lived there (Josh. 14:12-15).He was not dismayed by the fact that the Anakim were "men of great size," nor by the fact that Hebron was "fortified and very large"; he overcame them. The whole question in relation to overcoming is: Are we trusting in ourselves, or are we trusting in the Lord? If we are relying on ourselves then of course we have to consider whether or not the Anakim are strong or weak and whether their cities are well fortified, but if our reliance is on God, then the question of human resources does not even arise. If we are trusting in God,there is no ground for fear, and victory is assured no matter how great the men and how high the city may be. |

analice107: Lolzz, He never rejected being his father's son, he just wanted adventure away from home. He never called his father an impostor who stole him from another parents.
He never denounce his sonship and took another parent as his, that's why he could return home.
As a daughter, if i meet a man who is not a believer and i decide to marry him as opposed to what my father institutionalized, i have disobeyed my father, i will go with the man. But, if i take a stand and adopt the father of my husband as my own father publicly casting aspersions on my father, i may not have the guts to return in cases i meet misfortune like the prodigal son. If i do, my father will forgive me though, but can i, after doing all i deed?
But if i marry an unbeliever and go away with him, i can return to my father and ask for forgiveness, and of course he will forgive me.
What the Op is doing here is denying Jesus publicly and calling him a lair. My God!!!!! even when she claimed Jesus did this and that through her.
This is even the worst. This is calling the Holy Spirit a liar. because the power behind the manifestations was His. Unpardonable sin. You aren't getting it. Luke15:24 says "or this son of mine was DEAD and is alive again; he was LOST and is found." These is the heart of the story. It's not a question of what the son suffered(as in Vennasa7),but of what the Father loses. If a sheep is lost, the Shepard is at loss, also if a coin is lost the woman loses. Whatever her actions(that's whatsoever she has done or said against God) is considered a lost by Him. She might seem DEAD and LOST right now but will be FOUND and ALIVE soonest |

@vennessa7 I believe if you where truly His Daughter you will find your way home just like the Prodigal son did in the bible. All you need is a new heart and you will definitely come back home. Whatsoever is placed in His Hands is secured and can NEVER be lost!! You spoke about suffering and persecution, but that's part of the evidence of being His true daughter. I believe His purpose in your life is very great and the greater the responsibility, the higher His dealing in your life. For Job to be the greatest man in his time,he has to be schooled in that regard.also Moses was schooled for 80year before he graguated to lead over 3million people. If God doesn't school one properly He can't use the person to fulfill His purpose through them. Just pray and ask Him that you want to know His and His full purpose in your life.if you are His daughter He will answer you. Take care |
Christianity Etc › Circumcision Of The Cross! by ichuka(op): 11:16pm On Sep 27, 2017 |
If we allow the Holy Spirit to do a deeper work through the cross, the circumcision we received will become more real each day. "For we are the circumcision, the ones who serve by the Spirit of God and boast in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the flesh"(Phil. 3:3). The confidence in the flesh has been lost because of the circumcision not made with hands. Here the apostle reckons boasting "in Christ Jesus" as the center of all things. He points out the danger to us on the one hand, and the guarantee on the other. Confidence in the flesh easily ruins our boasting in Christ Jesus, while worshipping in spirit causes us to gain the blessing of life and truth. The Holy Spirit exalts the Lord Jesus and humbles the flesh. If we want to boast in Christ and want Him to boast in us,if we want to glory in Christ Jesus in our experience, we must,on one hand, receive the circumcision of the cross and,on the other hand, learn to worship in the Holy Spirit. There is no need for strife because strife is the work of the flesh. There is no need for methods because methods are only necessary when the flesh is employed. It is absolutely a matter of having no confidence in the flesh, regardless of how nice or capable we are.We should believe only in the Holy Scriptures and submit only to the Lord.If there is faith and submission, the flesh will be humbled, stay in its CURSED POSITION!!and lose its power.May God be gracious to us so that we will look down on ourselves more and more, rely less and less on ourselves, and realize more and more deeply how absolutely useless we are. May we have absolutely no confidence in the flesh. This is the real death.Without death,we will not have this experience |

peteregwu: My name is Bro Chikadibia Destiny Tobechukwu. I joined Chosen on the 6th of November, 2011.
It happened that I was travelling from Portharcourt to Lagos via Edison motors. The driver was moving at very high speed, I initially told him to slow down but he didn't really listen.
At some point, I slept off, shortly after I heard a loud noise that jolted me out of my sleep. The brake of the vehicle had failed because our driver tried to dodge a truck that suddenly joined the highway from an adjoining road.
When the brake couldn't work anymore, the vehicle lost control and hit another truck. Immediately this happened the bus caught fire. This accident happened at Umunede.
While I was in the bus, it was still in motion at high speed and totally engulfed in fire. I could only move my hands and could do nothing else than shout "I am a Chosen" three times. When I made that declaration, the window beside me broke and a certain force pushed me out of the vehicle through that small hole.
As I fell down, the vehicle hit another moving truck and caught fire and burnt to ashes. It was later we realized that four persons in the vehicle burnt beyond recognition.
Some other passengers that fell out of the vehicle upon the first impact had very terrible burn injuries. When the Police came and took us to the hospital, another person whose leg cut off died there in the hospital. I was the only person who only sustained minor injuries. The fire didn't burn me.
At the hospital, the nurses and everyone were wondering if I was actually involved in the accident . It was when I asked them to assist me to remove my sweater that they saw my apron. They were all amazed saying "He is a Chosen, no wonder!"
The next day I went to Agbor market to purchase shorts to put on because my trouser was torn. There, another Chosen brother spotted me in the market with my apron and approached me and inquired what happened. I narrated everything to him and he told me to follow him to the Chosen branch (Agbor 1) where the welfare leaders and Regional Pastor took care of me. They also called for medical treatment for me. Infact they showed me so much love.
Some days later I returned back to Lagos to go and show myself to the Edison motors and tell them I survived the accident.
Also, when I got to Lagos I had the opportunity to meet our G.O who said a word of prayer for me . He said " Father, I want quick healing". That same week, my body began to heal speedily. My face was swollen and part of my hair burnt, but right now, all has healed up and the hair has grown back.
I thank God for saving me from this accident that would have taken my life. Only the God of Chosen can do this.

#HigherLevel2017 peteregwu: My name is Bro Chikadibia Destiny Tobechukwu.
