Christianity Etc › Re: Have You Truly Bèen Born Of Water And Spirit ? by ichuka(m): 10:16pm On Feb 01, 2018
estheragha:
The bible says salvation/ bornagain/ redemption is by FAITH ALONE. To save people, the apostle preached the gospel of salvation to them, they believed in it with all their heart and got saved and bornagain. In other words, they become bornagain only through their belief in the gospel preached by the apostles, nothing more.
But today we see people wrongly believing that one can be bornagain through dreams, trances, visions, bodily feelings and high emotions. But such beliefs are removed from the truth.
All this stems from the fact that the gospel preached by mainstream Christianity today is an incomplete and corrupted gospel which lacks the power to make all believers truly born of water and spirit. Thus all Christians MUST in these last days return to the true and complete gospel of water and spirit which will allow them to become truly bornagain of water and spirit.
You are getting it wrong my dear.
There's a big difference between been born again and one born of water and the spirit.
Those that are born again can only "SEE" the Kingdom of God.for believers to be qualify to enter the Kingdom he has to be born of water(being wholly dead to the world) and Spirit(the Holy Spirit is now Lord of your life)
They are two different things.
Christianity Etc › The Heart In The Universe. by ichuka(op): 10:03pm On Feb 01, 2018
For God loved the world so much.... (John 3:16 NLT)

There is a great weight made to rest upon that little word "FOR""For God so loved the world." We say that John 3:16 is the heart of the gospel.but it is much more than that,it is the heart of the universe!!There is back of all things in this created universe a "HEART" not just a mind or a will,a design,a reason, a power,a fiat, but a heart. We are familiar with the attempts to prove there is a design in creation, that there is a mind behind the universe, and that a will brought it into being. That is all quite good and right.but we are not so often asked to consider that behind it all there is a HEART! – and more heart than anything else. The reason, the will, the design, come from the heart. Everything takes its rise in the heart of God.
We have said much about the thoughts of God,the counsels of God.The nearer we get to the very center of things, the more we shall become affected by this fact, that right there in the center is a heart. It is a heart that we shall come to eventually. not an explanation to satisfy our reason, not a demonstration of power, but just a heart – but a mighty heart. and when we use that word rightly,we simply mean love.We speak of people being heartless. That means that they are without all that love means. Love is not the governing thing in their thoughts, actions, and motives.they are strangers to love.Heart then, for us,means love, and when we say that back of all things and at the center of all things there is a heart,we mean there is love.
Christianity Etc › Service!! by ichuka(op): 8:33pm On Jan 31, 2018
By dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. (Romans 7:6 NIV).

Service begins with separation from the world, emancipation from the kingdom of this world, but it is a very thoroughgoing thing.Oh,that the church would recognize this, that God’s last word about this matter of emancipation and separation is “there shall not a hoof be left behind”(Ex. 10:26).You see, Moses’ service was a very thoroughgoing service, and it went that far, that not a hoof was left behind, and that is service to God."See that the people are utterly out,and there is no link remaining."
Do remember that service is always governed by this:a I deep inward separation. It is not enough for us to come out from the world and become parts of the people of God.Something more than that is necessary. The whole self-life in us has got to be definitely dealt with, and a great separation has to take place there. The impulsive, hot, fiery Moses has to become the quiet, patient, meek Moses... learning, perhaps above all things, meekness and patience. What a discipline of those forty years of self-emptying.Presently when he really enters upon his life’s work, his life service, one of the things that he will need most will be patience, and there is nothing more calculated to produce patience than the discipline of inaction. We do not learn patience when we can keep busy, when we can gratify all our impulses by doing something. But when we are not allowed to do anything, when we are cut off from ministry and work and service, and shut up to the discipline of inaction and the discipline of delay,God is preparing for better service than we would ever have fulfilled otherwise.

Being born of water and spirit has nothing to do with our good deeds. Instead, it's all about truly realising one's sins and incapability of living up to the law of God, and then placing one's faith in the gospel of water (Jesus BAPTISM) and Spirit.
Visit www.bjnewlife.org to learn about the true and complete gospel of salvation which allows us all to be born of water and spirit by having faith in it.
Salvation/ Being bornagain is by FAITH ALONE, not by deeds.

Not Calvin's Predestination but predestination as taught by the Bible and affirmed by the other reformers as well as Calvin.
We believe predestination because we find it in the Bible not because Calvin taught it. For myself I have scarcely read his works but have found his quotes agreeable with the Bible.
Baptism is not a part of the doctrines nicknamed Calvinism the more reason I am not bound to accept his views on baptism.
The reformers were weak men like you and me used of God to proclaim the gospel. We should follow them only in those parts were they follow the Bible. I don't expect them to know the truth about everything, therefore I am able to accept them for whom they were and praise God for the truths they proclaimed despite the opposition they faced and the risks to their lives.
I tire for these pple.
Is predestinated not in the bible?
Was Calvin one of the author of the bible?

What do you understand by "hang on the cross"?
A dead man has no Will,Emotion,or Purpose.
To be hanged on a cross is even worse because you have no portion on these earth(6feet) which is even yours.
To be sinless we have to be nothing and Christ has to be everything.

I believe it too

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Genesis:1:2

Most people ignore that, if God made heaven and didn't destroy the earth then how did it become without form and void it's like trying to say God created Lucifer and 7days later he rebelled against him

Jeremiah 4:23-28, “I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I beheld, and, lo, there was no man,and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger. For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end. For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black: because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.”

It uses the exact phrase word for word as Genesis 1:2

you are correct, the church is Christ in every believer. You see, Adam was made of the earth but Eve was made purely of Adam. Eve has nothing of earth in her, she is purely Adam. Adam is a type of Christ and Eve is a type of the Church. This means the Church is purely Christ, she has nothing of the flesh in her. Flesh with its deadness does not exist in the Church. You cannot find any work of the flesh in the church, sin does not exist in the Church, for the Church is utterly Christ, it is the Christ in every believer.
Yes more reason why true believers can't loss there salvation
Christianity Etc › Taken Root Downward And Bearing Fruit Upward. by ichuka(op): 11:45am On Jan 06, 2018
And the remnant... shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward. (Isaiah 37:31)

The Lord must have something which cannot be carried away, which cannot be removed, cannot be shaken, and certainly something which cannot be rooted up.That is His remnant. That,He must have for His own glory, and, that being so,He will take every measure with His remnant to have them after that kind, with roots downward.Of course, unto fruit upward. We speak much about the upward side of things, life in the heavenlies, sitting in the heavenlies, and our warfare and work – the fruitfulness of our life in union with the Lord. That is only possible as our roots are downward. In order that that might be so,we have to get into a place of unshakeableness where the roots have got such a grip that nothing can overthrow. And I believe that explains a very great deal of what the Lord is doing with His own spiritual people in these days.
It is true that the true children of God are going through a time of intense trial and testing spiritually in these days; everywhere it is so.Why? Because the Lord must have something against which hell is impotent and by which He demonstrates to the universe that strength of His might which causes to stand and withstand, and having done all to stand. If one were asked what the last issue for the Church in this age is,I would say that it stands, and that is saying a tremendous thing.Oh,you say, that is surely limiting things, are you not expecting much more than that? Progress, advance, sweeping movements? The Church will have all its work cut out in the end to stand, but its standing will be its victory.Just to be able, through testing, trial, when everything is blowing round you like a blizzard; when everything is dark, mysterious, and even God seems far away and unreal, and faith is tested and you are being assailed on the right hand and on the left, and there is every reason outwardly for your moving, giving up,falling down, surrendering, lowering your standard, just to stand and not be moved in your faith is the greatest possible victory....We are passing through deep experiences, the enemy is doing it and the Lord is not preventing him, but we are coming to a fuller knowledge of the power of our God and a deeper rooting beyond all previous shakeableness. And the Lord is seeking to have a people who cannot be shaken, against whom hell with all its demonstration of arrogance and pride,is impotent. “And the remnant... shall again take root downward.”That is what the Lord needs.

As for me , I don't add to the Bible or remove from it. The Bible did not say his righteousness was outward , it simply says ;
Luke 1:6 KJV
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

They were righteous before God and not before men.
Abraham and Sarah doubted God in the area of child bearing but the Bible still calls him the father of faith.

Genesis 17:17 KJV
Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
And Luke1:7 said "BUT"his wife was "BARREN"
My question aga again is "HOW CAN A RIGHTEOUS MAN IN GODs SIGHT BE BARREN"?
Something must be wrong somewhere.either he's righteousness before God is incomplete or God isn't true with he's word.
The "BUT" in that verse has cannelled any atom of righteousness he has in Gods sight.

James said faith( your believe) with out works ( you acts/ actions/ behavior/ choices on a daily bases ) is DEAD!!! . Show me your faith by your works!!!.
Jesus said I come quickly to reward everyone according to the works of their hands
Jesus said not everyone that call on me Lord, Lord, would be saved on last day but those who do the will of my father!! ( WORKS OF OBEDIENCE).
they would reply Jesus but Lord!!! In your name we prayed and cast out Demons, Jesus would reply on last day go away!! FROM ME YOU ALL THAT PRACICE LAWLESSNESS ( not obedient to the laws of God in your daily life ( moral laws))

The law was not giving to crush our pride.
God did not set the law as an impossible standard to bring in the grace.
The law was given to cleanse the Israelltes from generation to generation from evil in order to prepare for the coming of the messiah or Christ.

There were righteous people during the period of the laws :

Luke 1:5-6 KJV
There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. [6] And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
Luke5There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. 6And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. 7And "THEY HAD NO CHILD ,BECAUSE ELISABETH WAS BARREN"and they both were now well stricken in years.
8And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course, 9According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. 10And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense. 11And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. 12And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. 13But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. 14And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth. 15For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. 16And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. 17And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

18And Zacharias said unto the angel,"WHEREBY SHALL I KNOW THIS?FOR AM AN OLD MAN,AND MY WIFE WELL STRICKEN INYEARS"19And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings. 20And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.
There's two issues with he's righteousness here.
1.He's wife was Barren.
2.He lacks faith.
In The above verses he's righteousness was outwardly in the sight of God.
An inward righteousness man before The Lord can never be barren or lack faith.
When The rich man met Christ, outwardly he has kept the law from his youth.but, inwardly there's something he can't keep which is impossible with man but possible with God(thats Grace)
We can't work ourselves into He's Kingdom.thats impossible with us.Matt19:16-30

It's easy to discredit and pick flaws. But once you focus on the important things you'll realise all these flaws were a necessity for God to be glorified. Abraham just like us was an imperfect man striving for perfection. All his flaws don't make God less than God but only prove Abraham was just a man.
God chose him for reasons best known to him. If God decides to call you today (and I'm sure he would some day) it won't be because you're perfect but because God wants to Perfect your being.

Obviously not, but these things you've mentioned are only your own twist to the story. And you know it's not so hard to see that it's a such wrong twist, because given what we know of the human nature, except for mental instability, it is impossible to find any man that'll be willing to murder his own child, let alone an only child, an heir which you also mentioned that he so desperately wanted. Most folks wouldn't even do it even if their life at over 100 depended on it. So you see for this twist of yours to hold any water, you have to prove that Abraham either doesn't have a human nature, or he was mentally unstable, otherwise, it doesn't add up psychologically.

Under aged? Where did you get that from?

Seun, what if the reason you're so angry at God who so dearly loves you is because you have things about Faith that you don't understand at all or fully, or what if you're just confused because you had the scriptures wrongly interpreted to you by yourself or someone else. If you'd keep an open mind, I promise you, all that will end, because like it or not, God is real, and so is the experience people have of Him, which reinforces their faith. If it wasn't working, trust me, I would have left long ago.

What is his kind of faith?
Hebrew11:1Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2For by it the men of old gained approval....,,,,,,,,,,,,,
13All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having "SEEN"them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exile.

To have Faith we have to "SEE".
It's the Seeing that convict us that we are in the right path.
Seun had "Faith" in Nairaland.why? Because he saw the concept from a distance in he's mind.today we have the reality of a distance concept.
God actually showed Abraham A lot even the Redemption of Christ back then.thats why Christ said "Abraham SAW my days and was glad"John8:56

Christianity Etc › One Died For All, Therefore All Died. by ichuka(op): 12:01am On Dec 23, 2017
2Cor. 5:14:King James Version
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

When Christ was incarnated,He included all flesh in Him.Just as the act of one man,Adam, represents the acts of all mankind,in the same way,the work of one man,Christ, represents the work of all mankind.Only after we have seen that Christ includes all mankind will we understand the meaning of redemption. When the one man,Adam, sinned, all men past and present also sinned. This is because Adam was the head of the human race, and all men were born of Adam.In the same way, when Christ was justified, all men past and present were justified, because Christ is the Head of the new human race. All men in the new human race are born of Christ.
Hebrews 7 quotes one incident which illustrates this point. In order to prove that the priesthood of Melchisedec was greater than that of the Levites, the apostle mentioned how Abraham paid tithes to Melchisedec and how Abraham received the blessing from Melchisedec. This proves that Melchisedec was greater than the Levites. How did he prove this?"For he was still in the loins of his father when Melchisedec met him"(v. 10).We know that Abraham begot Isaac,Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot Levi.Levi is the great-grandson of Abraham. When Abraham tithed and received the blessing, Levi was not yet born.Even his father and grandfather were not born. But the Bible considers Abraham's tithing and receiving of the blessing as Levi's tithing and receiving of the blessing. Since Abraham is inferior to Melchisedec,Levi also has to be inferior to Melchisedec. This fact explains why, when Adam sinned, all sinned, and when Christ was judged, all were judged. The reason for this is that when Adam sinned, all men were already in Adam, and when Christ was judged, the life of all the regenerated sinners was already in Christ. Therefore, when Christ was judged for man's sin,all those who believe in Him were also judged. As a result, all those who believe in Him need not be judged anymore.

Why do you always form conclusions based on just half info you make reference to in the Bible. Is it not written in the same bible that Abraham said that Sarah was indeed his sister, and so he never lied about that.
About Isaac, to you, the crux of the story is Abraham's willingness to just murder his only son, but that's merely your opinion. Those who see the light in the scriptures know better. His willingness to sacrifice something that'd be the most costly to him, as well as his faith in the fact that God could later raise up Isaac are the things the scriptures portray with the story. if you want to choose another interpretation, suit yourself.
Abraham didn't "have sex" as you're trying to make it sound.
it was like trying to take the slave as a second wife, which the culture allowed at the time. He truly may not have handled the Hagar's situation perfectly but that's just cos being human, he never claimed to be perfect. He remains the greatest model of faith. If you find one shortcoming on Aliko's part, does that change the fact that he remains one of the greatest business minds Africa has ever had?
