AndSunGorilla: Owngoal predicts that he will be on the lineup, of course not like I want that. Also there's a "prophecy" going round that 9ja will lose if Musa plays, so instead of succumbing to fear, I would rather choose to be optimistic. Abeg forget about all those their prophecies. They should rather channel their prophecies into predicting the 2023 elections. |

Supersunny2: When was the last time Ghana won a match So much confidence for a team that failed to record a win in their last FOUR matches!!! Forget Qatar!! Never have I seen a team that couldn't win a home game but make the loudest boast while visiting the opponent. It really shows how delusional these people can be. I remember in 1993 when Nigeria was to play Ghana in the final of the FIFA U17 WC, a Ghanaian man in Lagos then was saying "if Nigeria beats Ghana he would drink acid". In a tournament which we were favorite to win. |

Meliforme: Take it or leave it we might lose, i saw that in this game, but this is not what i want. Football is a game of tactics. It is understanding your weaknesses and the opponent's weakness.
I have been talking so much about our poor decision making and poor composition of play. Eguavoen's system made it worse The Ghanaian coach probably knew this and used high pressing to force us into errors. For instance, how can Ekong deliver his long balls when he is under pressure. But i tell you this, this Ghanaian squad are poor tools for high pressing. A sound coach will deal with them. Bros loosen up. It was an away game. We didn't even play up to this when we played Sierra Leone and Cape Verde away. Yes, upsets happen in football just like we saw Macedonia beat Italy. But going into that game in Abuja, Nigeria are favorites to win it. |

Meliforme: I think the bottom line is that Nigeria failed to beat Ghana. The weakest Ghanaian team i have seen in a while. This Ghanaian team has a lot of weaknesses, but our coach can't see it to exploit. Playing away in Africa is not always an easy task; be it likes of Sierra Leone, Malawi, Uganda etc. Our boys coped very fine and were better coordinated than the Ghanaian team. An away draw at this stage of the qualifiers is not a bad one. No matter how you look at it, Nigeria has the advantage going into the second leg. |

Joebie: it's funny how both Ghana and Nigeria see the first leg as the decider. Omo, a lot can still happen in Abuja. We know that Nigeria are favorites to win in Abuja and so Ghana's major hope is this First leg in Kumasi. If Nigeria wins tonight, then it is almost game over. If Ghana wins tonight, they will have something to protect when they come to Abuja. And if it ends in a draw, Nigeria takes the advantage. |

codemaniacs: It will be very foolish of the coaches to bench Dennis , lookman, Bonke and onyeka.. they must all start.
Chukwueze must be benched.. Simon/Dennis/Amoo/Ejuke can play chukwueze's wing.. while lookman/dennis/aribo starts in Simon's wing.
Then ihenacho/Awoniyi/Sadiq as AM.. Aribo as AM hasn't been very effective while in Rangers I see him playing as a winger and he plays well in LW..
Bonke and Onyeka or at worse because I know Eguavoen likes a thin midfield then just Onyeka as DM, it's should be an abomination to bench an EPL regular like Onyeka.
4-2-3-1 is good for the type of players S.E has.
3-6-1 disguised as 5-4-1 is also good for the S.E.. Rather, it is only a foolish coach that will start all of Dennis, Lookman, Onyeka and Bonke |

semid4lyfe: It's an away game and Austin Eguavoen needs to be pragmatic in his approach. He needs numbers in midfield as Ghana will definitely adopt Tunisia's template.
I hope he does not play 4-4-2. He must also not start Iheanacho as that will leave us thin in mdfield, distort the shape & affect the solidity of the team.
That being said, I hope he opts for a 4-3-3 or a variation of it.
My preferred starting line-up is
Goalkeeper - Francis Uzoho
Defenders - Ola Aina (Right back), Leon Balogun (Central Defence), Semi Ajayi (Central Defence), Zaidu Sanusi (Left back)
Midfielders - Innocent Bonke (Defensive Midfield), Frank Onyeka (Central Defensive Midfield/Box-to-Box Midfielder), Joe Aribo (Attacking Midfielder/Support Striker)
Forwards - Bonaventure Dennis (Right Wing Forward), Moses Simon (Left Wing Forward), Victor Osimhen (Centre Forward).
Like someone posited earlier, the future of our indigenous coaches as Super Eagles coaches will be determined by the outcome of this WCQ.
If we don't qualify, indigenous coaches should not be appointed to coach the team for the next 10 years. Starting Innocent Bonke and Frank Onyeka as DM and CM in such a crucial away game is too risky. I don't think they have ever played together in any competitive game. Emmanuel Dennis and Ademola Lookman will likely start from the bench. Simon and Chukwueze are likely to be the starting wingers. |

semid4lyfe: Punch is reporting that Ghana plans to destabilize our team with off-field tactics especially Covid-19.
According to the report they plan to reject the Covid-19 certificates of some of our key players, insist on running their own tests which will return positive results and rule out the players.
Question:
How possible is this? I thought CAF has an independent healthcare company from Europe conducting the covid tests because of this kind of shenanigans from host countries? Make them try that nonsense and we will invade Ghana, the way Russia did to Ukraine. |

drDoom3: Not true, I watch Sadiq every matchweek, he cannot play just to set up another striker. He IS the striker.
Sadiq is very good with his feet. That does not mean he will drop so deep in the midfield to literally win tackles and recover possession. Nacho can do that. Anyhow you want to look at it, Nacho is our best player behind the striker, the only reason I would play with a front 2 would be to use him. If the game is not going well in that direction, you can bring on the extra midfielder and switch to a regular front 3, that was the mistake Eguavoen made during the AFCON. He had an excellent strategy, but didn't know when to abandon it in favor of a more conventional approach that may have yielded better results. Excellent! |

GK- Uzoho
RB- Aina CB- Balogun CB- Ajayi LB- Zaidu
DM- Bonke CM- Onyeka CM- Aribo
LWF- Simon CF- Osimhen RWF- Dennis This your formation will deprive the attackers plenty of the balls. |

Sportilitica: I hope we do not bash Uzoho if he makes his own mistakes. We jump ship too easily in my opinion. I believe both keepers are at the same level honestly. Nothing special about them.(okoye, Uzoho). A look at the teams that made it to the last 4 of the Afcon would reveal how good the keepers of at least 3 teams were. A strong team is built around a solid keeper. We should be searching for more keepers not trying to make excuses for each of them. We shall prevail Uzoho is a more tested goalie. I can hardly think of he conceding the types of cheap goals Okoye is conceding. Besides, also, he looks more confident in goal. My greatest fear going into that AFCON was our Goalkeeping department. What really helped Okoye at the group stage was that our team was way stronger than their opponents and didn't really receive any major goals threat. The only shot that was directed at Okoye all tournament he could not save. Even if we had scaled through Tunisia I doubt we could have scaled through the next stage. Look at even the penalty we conceded against Sudan and the way Okoye was mesmerized by the kicker. Na that kine keeper for carry us through Normal penalty shootouts? |

codemaniacs: Look at Lukaku's Chelsea form but he will still make the Belgian squad.
If Lukaku's was Nigerian you guys will say he shouldn't be called up due to his form .
Our top strikers Awoniyi and Sadiq couldn't score goals at the AFCON.. is it against Ghana they will now score.
Dessers must at least always make the S.E bench..
for the S.E, Sadiq, Awoniyi and Ihenacho are not it..
In fact Ihenacho hasn't done anything extra ordinary this season but he will get a call up.. Lukaku is already a tested player for the Belgian national team. Form or no form, everyone knows what he is capable of. The same cannot be said of Dessers. His debute game for Nigeria was even below average. |

If Dessers doesn't make world cup squad same way he didn't make AFCON squad then eguavoen should be ashamed..
Dessers is entering his prime years. It's the same reason I want to see Amoo in the S.E now before he loses all his pace and change of direction as he grows older... Bros Dessers cannot be rated as being amongst our top 3 strikers..so it will be a miracle if he makes the world cup. He has to do something extra ordinary for the rest of the season and the beginning of next season for him to be CONSIDERED. |

13large: Don’t disrespect Dennis that way because this season, he has been our best all round player I know Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure very well. Let me see him again next season and I will know where to place him as per rating. For now he is still average to me. We have a two legged game that we cannot afford to slip off and we only need strikers that have proven themselves in the national colors |

codemaniacs: Awoniyi should spend at least 2 more seasons at Un:ion be:rlin to stabilize his career.
Osimhen should stay in Napoli.
Sadiq should stay in Almeria if they get promoted and should stay there as long as they are in la liga and maybe even if they get relegated. Due to what happened to Simi Nwankwo at Salernitana.
Onuachu is not mobile enough for a lot of top teams so he will retire at Genk.
Ihenacho will also retire at Leicester city.
Sadiq may not score goals he is scoring at Almeria in a new club.
That's why in my opinion S.E top strikers are Osimhen, Dennis, Dessers, Samuel Adegbenro, okereke.
S.E and Eguavoen needs to utilize the pace of our strikers. The only Nigerian striker I rate highly is Victor Osimhen. All the others including likes of Dennis and Onuachu are average strikers. I don't even want to mention Awoniyi and Sadiq because they only profited from the absence of Osimhen, Onuachu and Dennis |
