BascoVanVeli: The pitch was ok IMO, they just didn't assert themselves. There was no sense of urgency, like they were still on the beach. They played down to the level of Seychelles they didn't show what they are about today. That pitch was bad my brother. Didn't u observe the bounce and roll of the balls? One can easily dislocate his ankle in an attempt to try a sliding tackle. You saw the kind of bruise Kalu got in the first minute of the game. Remember also the away factor. |

lexyman: i see no reason why We couldn't beat that Seychelles team up to 5 with that their Orobo keeper .... THIS our team is wack Especially Ighalo Oga, what if I tell you that Nigeria was the only away team that won today? Oga, I hope you have seen the following results: Comoros 1:1 Cameroon Kenya 1:0 Ghana Mauritania 2:0 Burkina Faso Namibia 1:1 Zambia Gambia 1:1 Algeria Gabon 1:1 Burundi South Africa 0: 0 Libya. That aside, Egypt beating Niger silly in Egypt is no big deal it is only if they recorded that result in far away Niamey, Niger. Give our boys some kudos abeg |

BascoVanVeli: Yes I could also notice his influence like the way they pressed which was something they didn't do in Uyo but I guess these are early days and the hope would be that the players get to know the coach better as time goes on. Btw I am just imagining how bad Lesotho would feel hearing that a draw against them was so bad that a coach had to be fired I noticed that high pressing too. If Amuneke can transform this Tanzanian team that could pave way for more Nigerian coaches to handle some of these small footballing nations. Well like as you said it is still early days. As for Lesotho, any team that draws dem at home of course is very useless. They are just maybe only a step above a team like Seychelles. |

Icon4s: WAFU 17 qualifiers:
Gha1:1 Togo . HT.
This is the result both teams need to make it to the next round.
I said it pages back that these two team can possibly strike an accord and play 1:1. Na just to do kick about for second half remain. Gha 2:1 Togo. FT. Ghana and Niger go through. A potential Nigeria vs Ghana semi-final clash. |

tbaba1234: I am not alone in my assessment of his performane. Even Ighalo supporters here have admitted, he was poor. Did u notice the expression on Ighalo's face after Awaziem scored. Dude was frowning. He probably was expecting Awaziem to lay the pass to him so he could score into an empty net. |

BascoVanVeli: Big result for Amunike. A draw in Uganda is not easy. After the Nigerian game I was switching between the Uganda vs Tanzania, RSA vs Libya and Kenya vs Ghana games. I saw something in that Tanzanian team. That is the Amuneke influence. They were doing plenty of the passing game. It worked for them. Playing Uganda in Kampala is not an easy game especially with the current resurgence of Ugandan football. I wish Emma's Tanzania can make it through from that group. They currently have 2pts from 2 games after drawing their first game at home to Lesotho. A result that got the former coach sacked. |

Earthquake1: This match was disappointing You say what ? 3-0 away win on an artificial turf? I was just afraid for the boys all through the 90mins. You saw what happened to Kalu in that first minute? That bruise he got. The boys did the needful by getting the goals Early enough, managed the rest of the game and tried to stay off injuries. You saw what happened to Awaziem and Kalu? Both players tried to impress because of the rare opportunities available for players yet to break in and u saw them limping. We were dominant all through. If The Seychelles could play so poorly in front of their home crowd I wonder what becomes of them when they come to a place like Uyo. |

darkelf: It's a combination of diet, exercise and genes. I don't really have an idea as to what constitutes the diet in Mali and CIV but according to studies, these countries seem to have men that are taller than the average Nigerian. You can look this up on http://www.averageheight.co/average-male-height-by-country.
Also, poor diet and malnutrition can contribute to stunted growth especially in kids in their adolescents/teenage years. It has also been discovered that Sustained sleep deficit in growing years can keep a person from reaching their growth potential.
Although not fully substantiated, many are of the opinion that foods high in starch like Rice can stunt growth in Kids. Look it up here https://ph.theasianparent.com/foods-that-stunt-growth.
Finally, and this is equally very important, Genetics play a big role. Some African tribes have historically very tall people (an average height of at least 6 ft 2). For example, the Dinka tribe of Sub-saharan Africa and the NIlote people who historically migrated from the Nile towards Tanzania and Rwanda.
I hope this helps Hmm....makes so much sense particularly where u pointed out that People from Mali and CIV are typically taller. I will add Senegal and Cameroon to this. I once worked with an Ivorian. A very tall guy. He told me people of his kind of height are more in CIV than we have in Nigeria. That many Nigerians are stunted. Like as you pointed I think dieting and genetics are key factors here. Thus a Nigerian 15-16 years old will not look as tall as his age mates from Mali, CIV, Cameroon or Senegal. |

komekn: What I find on this forum which is not in the least bit surprising. Is the intentional delusion as it concerns our inherent nature and attitudes.
In Nigeria, " where man deh work, ee go chop" Rohr has been in Africa for a decade. He understands how we do things and is turning a blind eye to it. As they say silence is consent. That's why people like Glenn Hoddle can not be contracted to the NFF.
Do you now think that all of a sudden NFF officials have now on the arrival of Rohr, decided to adopt integrity, honesty and become TOTALLY SELF- LESS in pursuing national interest. The idea is you can do both. Salisu is a classic example, has anything happened ❓ Any other place him being caught would have started an immediate investigation into the whole activities of the NFF.
Rohr will be influenced and he will not take decisions entirely on his own without consultation. He may be hoodwinked too. But can he bite the hands that feed him, I doubt it.
The scouting team is not inept they have thier own agenda, which only they can see. Or we have decided not too see. Chairman, are you going to be stuck in this complain, and line of discussion for ever? The did is done, the team has been selected already so lets move forward and discuss tomorrow's game abeg. |

tbaba1234: Our boys are just rushing them...
We are more skillful but they are stronger than us physically... Looks like we picked a lot of 15 and 16 year olds for this under 17. I even expect to see a couple of 14 years olds. But for now they cannot be more than 16 to be eligible next year. And to the bolded, some times one wonders if the same parameters were used while this MRI was done for different countries. You recall how older the CIV 2013 team looked compared to our own boys. And recall also the Malian team that faced Amuneke's team of 2015 in the final. They were a lot thicker and more physical than our boys. Could it be that the bones of our boys attain complete fusion earlier than those of our neighbors? Could it also be diet related? Maybe we eat food with too much calcium and carbohydrates here (fact!), which could have aided faster bones development (just thinking). Maybe those with knowledge of anatomy, in the house, can lend a helping hand here. Is there a direct relationship between type of diet and rate of bones development or precisely fusion? cc: Michael2 cc: TheSuperNerd cc: Confun |

ChrisKels: Boy was really impressive.
Just a few additions here and there plus bulking up via the gym, then we are ready for the world cup. Manu Garba should be made the chronic gaffer of the golden eaglets. We should never repeat the mistake of promoting him with the team to the U20s. Dude knows how to unearth talents and he should be left there to keep doing what he knows how to do best. This has also been my view. Leave Manu to keep managing the U17. The boys were just unlucky against Burkina Faso because we bossed that game from after that shaky start. I recon both teams to meet again at the final. |
