The game against Liberia was an insult to all the young chaps in the team, looking to create an impression

Rohr and Pinnick ought to apologise to the players and the entire country for such a waste of time. If I was fielded against men old enough to birth me, I would be livid. What kind of nonsense is that? Couldn't Pinnick find some less busy oldies to field? How do you make young men fly all the way from their various clubs to come and play Weah? That is pure nonsense. And the publicizing of the match is even more ridiculous.

I feel bad for all those boys who got on that pitch expecting a game
Rohr and the NFF probably never had the insight that Weah and Debbah will be playing.

They were invited for an international friendly to honor George Weah, Liberia's president. And Rohr felt it is an opportunity to test his fringe players.

The lessons has been learnt going forward.

Our next game is barely 3weeks away. That should be the focus right now. I hope to see: Mikel, Simon, Ekong and Iwobi fully back for that game.

Looking forward to that day when you two would be on same page.
I don't think everyone can be on the same page on every issue as we are all wired differently and have different ideologies about issues.

What matters most is to know when to call it quits with an argument before it deteriorates into something else.

Rohr would be stupid to make conclusions from this game. The whole thing is a joke.
Are u sure you even watched the game?

As for conclusions, coaches make conclusions from just closed door trainings. So how would Rohr not make certain conclusions from a game like this? For eg any player who performs poorly in this game has nothing to offer and should be kicked out.

I really like the look of him. I thought he was one of the stand-out performers.

Missed a few chances though. He should have had more than one.
Good and noted.

Oh yes. Perform or not. If na u, will u put ur all. It’s psychological. This match is irrelevant.
To you it is irrelevant but not so for those players who saw this as an opportunity to prove a point to Rohr and Nigerian fans.

Onyekuru and Simmy scoring today has boosted both players chances in the team.

He did not play in the midfield. He played on the right.
Etebo, Ndidi and Joel played in the middle.
And how would you rate Simeon Nwankwo?

Small shoulder charge by Ajayi on Weah was given as a foul.

The boy can not respect his elders.
Why would Ajayi give Weah shoulder charge. Na him mate? Loz..

Players that shined against Athletico were not great today.

Ebube and Nwakali below average.
Good that Rohr had another opportunity to look at them.

That is why games like this can be very useful.

Haha, I was almost set ablaze on this thread years back when I opined that most of those players that won U17 MVPs and highest goal scorers have often failed to live up to expectations.

That is why I take the U20 more seriously than the U17.

So are we using this match to judge Nwakali?, to me the guy played very well oo, controlled the mildfield with Joel n Ndidi, He was goo abeg no hype, at least we were 2 - 0 up when he was removed.

I think time to stop age grade performance to invite players to super eagles.
U17 you mean.

The ones that have progressed from the U20 and U23 are better proven and have gone ahead to excel at senior levels.

I bolded your original comment with my response right under. Did u say anything about U21? Did I disagree with you? I suggested Iwobi and not all our big name stars. U know all this so why make up facts. These are lies Oga pure lies. Then u take it completely out of context like I am stewpid or something. You know damn well I was talking about all this with the mindset that we would be playing another friendly.

Icon4s:

Yeah that's a good point you just made there.

Rather than completely calling off that Liberia friendly, the NFF should just gather an Eagles Team B, comprising of players we feel we need to assess their readiness to break into the Super Eagles (just like we did against Athletico Madrid). It can be a mixture of home and foreign based players. But their selections should be justifiable.

BascoVanVeli:

Thanks. I think Weah would want to see some known names on our side, that was why I suggested Iwobi especially with Wenger expected to be there.
Wait, what did u say I am lying about? Have I not been referring to our U21 team as a group of young players that we need to assess their readiness to break into the team?

Calling me a lier. See, let us just leave this argument. I don't want insults abeg.

I think, it is good game.. The Liberians are actually trying to score
Yet some people are just trying to discredit this team. And yet same people will be clamoring for injection of new players. Is this not a kind of game to assess new players. Or they prefer we throw them all in, in crucial qualifying matches?

LMAO so when Weah was playing minus 10 u were happy abi? Let the man enjoy his day, he deserves it. The only people I am angry at is the NFF because this is something our U20s should be doing. Our senior team should be playing serious matches we are preparing for a tournament that we have just missed back to back I would have expected more seriousness.
When I said we should send an U21 team you said Weah and the entire Liberia will want to see our big name players. Ngwa nu.

Simmy knows Ighalo has fallen out of favor with Nigerian fans and so he needs this game like die to displace Ighalo. Other players too see this friendly as an opportunity.
