Joebie: Please tell me what you make out of this. I was only analyzing Rohr’s statement
“The games against Poland and Serbia is a big chance for the new players to show they have what it takes to play for us. As you know the next game will be in May so now is time for everyone who want to go to Russia to prove their quality.
“The two games are also important for us because the last time we played together was in November against Argentina. So, it will be an opportunity to work together again before the World Cup.
Also Check: Etebo Invited for Super Eagles Friendlies Against Poland, Serbia “In May, we will release another 30-man list for the other friendly games from which we will draw the final list for the World Cup,” he told CompleteSports.
ChrisKels: Who else thinks Shehu won't be going to Russia unless Echiejile is dropped? Really hard to stomach but we gotta be real and sincere. I can see and at the same time, feel it.
Mujtahida: If na Kunu count me in. But I no join to chop Gworo. How the weekend? Next week we go see the full list. Already we know about four invited players: Etebo, Idowu, Joel Obi, Omeruo
Hahaha, na so o. The kine things pessin dey see on this thread.
Yeah March 7th is the date.
But I must also point out that for players not invited for the March friendlies there is still hope for them. Some players may still break in.
The final camping list is the one that most determines who and who stands a chance and not this march list.
Joebie: Was Kayode invited for March friendlies? Truly I tell you today, it will be very hard (not impossible) for any player not invited for this month’s friendlies to make it to Russia. I’m speaking from analyzing Rohr’s recent statements.
Modified. Ighalo got lucky. The Cameroon tie made Rohr look his way. And he grabbed his chance
realpoacher: Oga you are a big disappointment to the word experience!... Look at how you are defending a big blunder made by an Experienced Goalkeeper at a shot from 25 yards. Your defense of this ineptitude speaks volumes about your knowledge about football.
If you were a coach, your team will be terrible. I will simply tell my players to keep taking direct shots at your keeper because he will fumble at it and he will concede 6.
A keeper that cannot see the flight of the ball from 25 yards out both from open play and from set-piece, is that one a keeper?... SMH
bengine: Comparing this free-kick to messi's free-kick is like comparing a Ferrari to a fiat punto..all messi's free-kick have power, dip and curl..those 3 combinations are difficult for any gk so I could make a case for Enyeama..and perhaps that messi's fk went over the wall and not the area covered by Enyeama..how many keepers in the world can truly even save that fk by messi..
But u were hammering on the distance. That no WC goalkeeper should be conceding from such a distance.
bengine: If a GK at 30 doesn't know how to position well for a free-kick that far, you can't train it out of him.you can't teach old dogs new tricks.. and in all your e experience sir, would you expect this kind of stupid mistakes from a supposedly world cup goalie?
Even the first goal he conceded makes him look bad..it should be difficult for any good Gk to be beaten from 25yards out..I know some shots have power, curl and dip..this goal doesn't even come close..please this guy would be our downfall at the world cup if he starts..
tbaba1234: I guess we are looking at this from different perspectives..
When a keeper concedes from a fairly routine free kick from that distance and in the area he was supposed to cover, i would rank it as a blunder. In your opinion, you think that is harsh.
It is not as if the free kick taker did anything extraordinary.
You call that a routine free-kick from that distance. Have you not seen goalkeepers conceding free-kicks from even a further distance than that?
Did you notice the change in trajectory of the ball?
You would rather down play the quality of the free-kick.
How is this different from the one Enyeama conceded against Messi?
bengine: And this is the goal keeper we some are sticking their heads for in russia..what's the difference between the one he conceded against Argentina and this one, misjudging freekicks, bad positioning, guessing like its a pk being taken..in fact both goals he conceded was all bad positioning..
We are in serious trouble if this guys starts games for us in russia..
Misjudgement, poor positioning.
Those are the words that describe it. And not blunder.

A blunder is not just a mistake or error. It is more like an unpardonable mistake, or a stupid mistake.
In order words it is worse than a mistake or error.
When you first posted that video I was even thinking he mistakenly threw a ball into his own net or mistakenly threw a ball straight to an opponent who now scored and stuffs like that.
I had to watch that video to the end still waiting for the blunder.
tbaba1234: The distance was too far for Akpeyi to concede from that. He should not be conceding from that distance.
For Messi's goal, Enyeama stood far away from the left side, probably expecting Messi to change direction. Even if Enyeama was well positioned, he could have still missed the ball.
I think, the Chippa fan is also reacting to past Akpeyi's error . I understand, he made an error in his previous match.
I am not holding brief for Akpeyi but I had to assess that goal with an open mind. You tbaba called it a " blunder" .You exaggerated it, which is why really I am taking my time to discuss it.
I would have just watched and moved on.Unfair criticism.
You cannot say Akpeyi should not be conceding from that distance when goalkeepers even concede from goals played from the centre circle.
He just initially misjudged the intended direction of the ball. He expected the player to aim at the space he left behind the defence wall but the player unconventionally played it towards the position where Akpeyi initially stood.
It is almost the same thing Enyeama did against Messi. Anticipating in the wrong direction.
Kog45: Pls try and read my original comment then you would understand better coz sometimes am always lost here,i thought we are here for football analysis and discussion.
I think am not Rohr who said inactive Alampasu is among the five keepers is considering for WC,pls be logical on this,am i Rohr who named him,so what a fuss.
It seems some don't even understand why we are here, takes things personally and always emotive and sentimental in their thinking as if we are here to fight.
Pls am very sorry to say this, have been following Eagles since 1980 so i just don't talk or saying anything for sake of it.
Ask icon4s or goldfish80, am always against Alampasu calling cos i believe so much on Akpeyi until Argentina match changed my mind.
I will not deceive you i don't rate Alampasu.
It's OK egbon, those of us that understand the point you are trying to make have taken it. Let's move on please.
TheGoodJoe: I love good football and like seeing the best always on the pitch. As for our team, I believe with the right tactics and determination, we can conquer any team.
So also do I like good football. I am an Arsenal and a Barcelona fan. You know what that implies. But I will never wish to see our opponent play good football if they are playing against us.
If our opponents play good football then our team should play better football and if our team plays bad football then our opponents should play worse football. That is always my wish.
