Let us even see that video where he conceded 2 goals and start knowing his weakness.

The Poland game is a friendly. It may not be as competitive as we have anticipated.

Manu didn't throw them away, at least not because they were NPFL players. Remember Sokari played a big role in the world cup and at the AYC we had Nwobodo, Ojo and Pyagbara who were all NPFL players at the time.
What do you mean by Manu did not throw Etebor and Ajayi away? Were they part of Manu's team after the screening?

Oga icon4s i think some people see it as a sin to be in NPFL for so long even if the player is damn good.

Pls check out Sunday Rotimi,do we say Akpeyi,Ezenwa and Ajiboye are better than him?NO but if Rohr call him,the first question that would be on people's lips is age forgetting that he is a solid keeper with experience of NPFL and European football.

I think we need more update on truly young players in NPFL league so that even if they spent 4 years in the league nobody would cry foul when they are call to national team.
And the only means of un-earthing these young NPFL players is the U20.

I personally do not rate NPFL players who are 25 and above. But I rate highly NPFL players who are U20.

Was it not Manu that threw away Karo Etebor and Junior Ajayi from his U20 selection probably because they were NPFL players.Thank God Siasia considered them for the U23. With the exception of Simon, Etebor even got a Super Eagles call before any other of those Manu 20 boys. Can you look at Etebor tand Ajayi today and not say they are good products of the NPFL? Same goes for Kingsley Sokari.

Was the young Shehu Abdulahi in 2014 not in the NPFL?

We should not select NPFL players for the U20 so we should go pack armatures from the academies to play the U20?

Uzoho Denied 11th Clean Sheet As Valladolid Beat Real Deportivo Fabril
By Johnny Edward

You just nailed it.

I hate it when people accuse players of overage when they don't have any concrete evidence.

Bring up a valid evidence and not hearsay and let's drop the player simple.

Are you saying you don't know there are a lot of 15 -17 years olds currently playing in the NPFL?

Two notable clubs: MFM and Kano Pillars.

I am also sure you know the 15 years old Nur of Elkanemi.

I do wish them well.
We should shift our focus from winning at u17 and u20 levels to unearthing talents. Look at the Manu u17 set. See how a good number of them are in the SE. Not that we should not win ooo but let that be secondary. We can concentrate on winning for the u23 and SE. U20 and u17 should be used to freshen the dream team and SE.
That has always been the focus-to unearth talent.

But a team need to do creditably well first before you will notice any talents among them. Look at the last Manu's U17 that crashed to the same Niger we are facing in the U20 qualifiers. How many talented players did we discover from there? Why? because they crashed out too early.

No youth player should be denied the privilege of playing for the U20 team because of perceived age-cheating allegations. If any player is found guilty of age falsification, with valid evidences, that player should be dropped.

Dem no dey do. Agreed. Why? Is there a reason whether scientific or legal as in FIFA policy?I really don't know and would like to be enlightened.

I don't know if the MRI scans are accurate or not but I do know that they have significantly helped us from taking Chrisantuses to the u17

I am only talking about what is possible given the kind of society we live in but from your first response to this second one you have interpreted what I posit as possibilities to be fact.

It's okay. I don't discuss players ages. I only strayed today. I cannot debate where for instance somebody says Nigeria is corrupt. It's not perception. I might not have evidence but many, the overwhelming majority of our players are age cheats.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a radiological technique to project images of the bones(anatomy). There are certain fusion of bones not expected for boys that are 17 years old or less. Which is why it is used for U17. At ages above 17 such bone fusions would have taken plays in most boys. This is why the MRI cannot be applied at the U20 level.

Please this age cheating allegations without even knowing the boys is a distraction. Let the NFF and the coaches sort out the players' documentations and start preparations and playing series of friendlies.

Niger will not be a push over as they took part in the last U17 WC.

Any player that is found to have controversies with his age should be dropped. And we move on please.

Sorry but you didn't get my point. I am saying that even if FIFA doesn't do MRI for u20 we should do it for ourselves knowing how deep seated our problem is. That's why I asked whether there's any law prohibiting us from adopting MRI scan for both the U17 and u20 age grade competitions. I am only making suggestions on how to curb age cheating.

Haaaa, where did I say that they presented affidavits?
at the bolded. Please read me correctly cos this is a thorough misrepresentation of what I said. It's just like I say: for instance Mike stole...... Then Mike says I said he stole. How na?

I only used the affidavit point to illustrate the point that your assertion that anybody who has evidence or proof should step forward or forever keep shut. I am saying it's not so easy as you make it seem because for example a 30 year old man can become 20 by mere declaration. And I know it's quite rife in Nigeria not to talk of among footballers with their eyes set on juicy prospects. What evidence can I bring to counter that? Talking about age discrepancies: how many will be caught by that trap knowing how dubious we are.

If we want to solve the problem we cannot say: unless you have evidence or proof then forever keep shut. With that approach Sire, may I present to you the present u20 team.

I don't get into discourse on players ages cos it's murky waters for me talking about what my eyes can see but I cannot proof. It's just like knowing somebody committed a crime but you cannot proof it. One would always be defeated. So the best I do is to avoid the discussion cos it's futile.
Oga, again, I say dem no dey do MRI for players at the U20 age category. At that age MRI results are mostly not accurate.

Is it not Nur(15 years old), Nazifi(Former U17 even passed MRI), and the former U17 captain(also passed MRI) that I saw on that list? I don't know most of the other last U17 players by name, some may also be on that list.

All these your allegations of overage are just based on your perception. You don't know 90% of those players.

If you don't want us to pick from the NPFL where do you want us to pick from?

This is just the early phase of camping, foreign based players would be added as the preparations and qualifiers proceed.

This issue of evidence or proof as far as players ages are concerned is a blackhole. You know as e de be. All it takes is for a player born 30 years ago to swear to an affidavit that he is 20 years old. Legally speaking even if you challenge the age of a person with 'proofs or evidence' (and what can that be other than to say I know so and so player was born so and so year therefore he cannot be 20) once his Father or mother says he is so and so age all your evidence and proofs will be discarded because the law presumes that nobody can know the age of a person more than his father or mother. And pray tell me, with football being a money spinner today which Papa or Mama go spoil him pikin own by telling the truth? Unless your evidence is the birth certificate of the player, just forget it. That's why I no dey put mouth on issues related to players ages.

NFF can curb this if they desire. 20 years ago was 1998 not 1958, 1968, or 1978. NFF should either insist on getting the birth certificates of these players or get their primary school records or conduct MRI tests on them even if FIFA does it only for the u - 17. Abi can't we adopt it as our own in-house policy? Is there any FIFA laws that prohibits it? Cos to my mind killing this age cheating bug is so easy if we want to kill it. This is a specie of corruption that exists within a very narrow field that we can easily combat.
Dem dey organize MRI for U20 again?

Were you part of the players' documentation? what makes you feel they presented sworn affidavit rather than birth certificates?

Any one found with age falsification should be dropped. Simple

ndidi left all the way from academics and today the rest is history, likewise nancho and co.

most young and hungry talented players can better be found in academics...I am telling you the truth....I still remember how manu garba under 20 team took the bunch of npfl best to the cleaners during the super 6 tourney...

let him not restrict his invitation to the npfl...but also to the nationwide league and academics......

the essence of this tourney is not just to win the under 20 world cup but.also to groom players for the future to take over from the ones we currently have....if this reason is jeopardized I fear...that years to come we will never stop seeking and longing for foreign groomed players to come play for us.....
I can bet you don't even know 90% of those players on that list.

COMPAQ:
In all likelihood she probably didn't pay any money for it from her own pocket. Knowing Nigeria and IBB, I am 100% sure it was simply ALLOCATED to her.

With respect to the Capex that you talk about, Chevron took all the risk to invest. The structure is Chevron invests and if they strike oil, chevron uses oil to repay themselves of the equity she ought to have provided upfront. Only when it is fully paid back in oil will she now begin to reap rewards. So the initial risk is 100% to chevron and 0% to her. It is a risk chevron would have been willing to take because of their huge size.

There is another block I know off owned by another shadow Nigerian company. They have aJV with a multinational oil company who has not yet decided whether to develop that block. Do you know that the IOC pays that company millions of dollars every year just to remain as partner even though no work is going on?

Another Nigerian billionaire oil and gas person adding no value.
To your first paragraph, the government does not Allocate Oil blocks to an individual.

The Block which has the Agbami Field today was awarded to Texaco and Famfa Oil (OPL 216). Today the partners in that block are StarDeep petroleum (a subsidiary of Chevron), Famfa Oil, Petrobras, Statoil and NNPC. Star Deep which are the deep water arm of Chevron were granted operatorship.

The JV terms which is a Production Sharing contract (PSC) has Chevron with the lion share of the development phase with the other working interests coming from statoil and Petrobras. Famfa were "carried" (Financially) in the arrangement.

The Venture was a huge success. Famfa was part of it so why should they not share in the success story?

How many indigenous Nigerian E and P companies are even operators? The NPDC(a subsidiary of NNPC) is Nigeria's(indigenous) largest E and P. But what is their production like?

The entrepreneurs that will take inspiration from her story will take it.

Give credit to whom credit is due please.

See,i understand where you are coming from. But the point here, is not about whether she received an oil block or oil well. The point here, is that there is nothing challenging about her story to upcoming entrepreneurs. I don't think one needs faith to receive a gift of which you have nothing to lose. I don't even think she had much of a choice about the condition of the gift she received. If she had told her story without trying to be vague, thereby leaving loopholes in it, i doubt we would be having all this hullabaloo about her story. I think she should chose a better storyline next time.
I am glad you have an idea of where I am coming from.

But let me clear this, no government gave anybody any Oil Block as a gift!

Do you know why they are regarded as a gift? Because of the cost of acquiring those blocks as compared to the huge revenues later recovered from them. This thing you guy think are gifts were worth hundreds of millions in Dollars.

Prio to the discovery of huge fields like Agbami, Bonga and Erha, the deep offshore were no go areas. No business man would want to invest his money where they knew there were several limitations ranging from lack of available detailed Geological data to Lack of technical expertise and experience among others.

The government had to give out those offshore blocks to potential investors at a cheaper price compared to those onshore as an incentive to attract them towards it and then which in turn will boost our Oil reserves. Which is a win-win scenario.

Let's even say (as you guys think) she was given the block for free. Do you know the amount of Capital investment (CAPEX) that will go into such a block before you will get to the stage of Drilling the first well? What if after spending so much and then drill wells and the wells are dry? And you say she has nothing to lose? Do you know how much it costs to even drill wells offshore?

Please if we don't know about certain issues let's ask questions before making comments

We rate this old players like super regulars whereas most of them were just too average in their various clubs.

This is what we are saying during the discussion of comparing 94 set with present team but those of us who watched 94 set knew this present team is not bad as some always saying they are average.

Kanu like Kluivert were not regular at Ajax cos they are just coming up and need to watch Litmanen doing the job but Finidi George was a super regular.
One thing about the 94class, they were not so Super at Club level but they were Super in the green and white jerseys. Remember it was during that generation that the name was changed from Green Eagles to Super Eagles.

Players like, Eguavoen, Nwannu, Iroha and Okechukwu, go look at their club statistic. Below average or average at best. But when we saw these "MEN" in the Eagles jerseys it was as if they were "Voltrons-the defenders of the Universe.

It took the trickery of Diego Maradona and Claudio Caniggia and also the sleekness of Roberto Baggio to break that defense in that WC. These 3 players are like the equivalents of Messi, Aguero and Harry Kane of today.

A DM like Oliseh, the only major wrong footing he put in his Eagles career was to attempt to disposes Baggio, rather than Clearing out the ball. Ndidi his current equivalent has yet to give us what Oliseh gave us those days. Oliseh aside his defensive abilities was an excellent creator. 40-50% of Yekini's goals or attempt at goal from 93-94 came from Oliseh's assists. Ndidi is more of a blocker/stopper which also was Oliseh.

The WC is a difficult mountain to climb o. Every game is like a final. Rohr and his boys need to really up their game to beat Croatia first. That game I know will likely seal our fate. It is just an equivalent of our Bulgaria opening game in 1994. Argentina was also in that group and let's equate Greece with Iceland, though this Iceland team is better than that 94 Greek team.

My man mentioning name of a player by Rohr in an interview doesn't mean the player is on his way to Russia.

It's left for Echiejele to prove himself like wise Aina,Idowu,Ebuhei and Shehu,so let's wait for the friendlies.
