even If that is the case, we still qualify, we just have to avoid defeat in Uyo, and I believe we will beat them silly.

Algeria can make it easier for us with a win tonight in Blida.

issa lie.

Tunisia is on 9 points and DRC is on 6 currently, how will a draw against DRC earn them a ticket? They will be no better than us
Correct.

In fact I can bet with my dinner tonight that DRC will beat Tunisia in Kinshasa.

Exactly, Zambia have a goal difference of 1, so a loss for them today by a goal margin of 1 will leave them with a goal difference of 0 , so for them to qualify they will have to score not less than 8 goals in their remaining two matches not forgetting that one of those two matches is against the Super Eagles.
Head to head is considered before goals difference.

Shehu is NOT about politics... He deserves his spot... He is a utility player and will be on the list if fit. In fact, i think he is one of the untouchables... He has been in every Rohr's list
He was always in the later part of Keshi's list. He was always in Sunday Oliseh's list. He was also in every of Siasia's list.

Players like that will always make squad list.

THE SURE WORLD CUP BOUND PLAYERS
1. John Obi Mikel (Untouchable- Midfield maestro)
2. Victor Moses (Untouchable- Nigeria's hottest attacker and Dribbler)
3. Leon Balogun (Untouchable- Solid rock Oyibo wall general)
4. William Troost Ekong (Untouchable- Oyibo wall deputy)
5. Vincent Enyeama (Whether you like it or not, we BADLY need him; reliable, tested and trusted)
6. Alex Iwobi (New generation star and rocky)
7. Odion Ighalo (Has cemented that No 9 position)
8. Ogenyi Onazi (The devil you know is better than the angel you dont know)
9. Ola Aina (Rohr knows this guy's use and sooner or later, Nigerians will know him)
10. Wilfred Ndidi (The premier league most sought after holding midfielder after Kante)
11. Shehu Abdullahi (Politics will put him on the world cup train and besides that, he is showing a deadly form right now in RB)
12. Kelechi Iheanacho (New generation rocky)
13. Ahmed Musa ( Politics will put this guy on the world cup train. Don't say I didnt tell you)
14. Moses Simon (Rohr still believes so much in this guy. He will make it if his form does not drop)
YOU WOULD SAY I TOLD YOU
I totally disagree with the bolded. He has earned it. Not politics.

he is better at the AM position besides we have better wingers

Mikel as the CMF and iwobi as AM would be a joy to watch

you saw their interplay against Zambia
We need those wicket Mikel's final passes. He has also been scoring goals from that position lately. We will better utilize him from the AM position. It is either Iwobi deputizes for him or we play him from the wings.

Finally, Mikel has shot the mouth of his doubters. - no more arguement on his 'abilities'.

The national team has benefit from the type of player he has become-an hybrid Mid-fielder who can conveniently play the DMF CMF and AMF positions without itches.

With the availability of other CMFs and AMFs in Joel Obi, Iwobi, Aluko, Nacho etc. I'll love mikel to be our permanent Central Midfielder-the anchor man. Having him play the CM alongside either Joel or Iwobi will bring in more creativity going forward which will create more chances for our clinical forwards without sacrificing the team's stability and midfield cohesion...
So also has Shehu Abdulahi.

Shehu Abdullahi is showing that he will not make it easy for anyone to take the right back spot from him. He is improving in that role. Perhaps, the competition is always forcing his improvement
I wonder why it took most people till this Cameroon clash to acknowledge Shehu's abilities.

This boy played at the 2015 CHAN under Keshi as a midfielder. He played both legs of the Egypt double header. He played all the games in the 2016 Olympics. But because he plays in Cyprus he is being written off.

Some as at this morning are still saying that he should vacate the position for Aina.

That boy is a baller and a utility player. He will always make the Eagles squad.

Come to think of it, it's a shame that the African champions are the first to have been eliminated in the African zone. Cameroon essentially did a "Greece" - who won the Euro 2004 tournament but failed to qualify for the 2006 World Cup.

Meanwhile, I'm beginning to doubt if Enyeama would still return to the team. If the SE complete the qualifiers without Enyeama playing a part, then the chances of him playing at the World Cup would be extremely low. He could think that it would be unfair to not have a taken a part in WCQ, and just show up to camp once the WC draws near.

On the other hand, he may yet think of creating some history for himself. If he makes himself available for WC selection, and gets to start in the tournament, he would become the first SE player to play in 4 or more senior World Cup competitions.
All through this African qualifiers I never saw the goal keeping department as much of an issue.

I believed our problems lied more with the outfield field players especially that SA game.

However, our goalkeeper trainers need to do more on the goal keepers we have now. Thank God for Ezenwa's good showing. But bros within me, I know say that guy fit chop 4 against a grade A opposition.

As for Enyeama and thoughts of Ikeme being back before the World cup, I'll say it is better we plan based on what we have on ground now.

I am in agreement with you.

Nwakali on this thread is being considered on past glories but glories in youth football. He has spent a season at low rated Dutch club. If he was making waves he would be well known in the Eredivisie but he is not. Currently he doesn't merit a call up. The SE is not for boys but those who have proven themselves worthy.

It's quite obvious that we do not have a replacement for Mikel. I really would have liked to see Ogu in that midfield to see what he can do, particularly in the latter stages of today's game. His composure and calmness could possibly have calmed down matters for us opposed to the frantic play we adopted towards the end.

I actually would consider Sone Aluko for that role as a quality option.
Aluko is another good option. But age is not also on his side. But at least he can hold forth till the younger lads are fully ready.

Sorry ooo the goodjoe there's something quite juvenile with your opinions today. Seriously I also detest tepid, dull football. I see nothing wrong with the way we played. It's not every time you go all out guns blazing. Cameroon needed the game more and haf to come out. Except Ezenwa's error and a shot saved by Ezenwa on the line, CMR didn't really trouble us. We were very patient and CMR made sure they defended deep to prevent any counters from happening knowing how fast we could break. The people concerned said they aimed for 4 points and got the 4 points now we de complain that they didn't collect the 4 points with swag! Who does that. On Instagram, the players are all singing and jhirating to Tony One week's jams and we de complain for here. Chai some Naija people can greedy sha.

Remember, I even said on Friday that it was not my style. We showed more invention in that game. But, in this one, we descended to an all time low.
Even in the EPL or Europe there are certain venues you play and a draw will almost look like a win.

Home advantage plays so much role in football. And this is even more pronounced in Africa.

None of this generation of Super Eagles has ever visited Yaounde for any game of any sort. The way they were able to acclimatize in less than 48 hours and achieved that result is quite commendable. TheGoodJoe be realistic abeg.
