The Cameroonians fear us as much as we fear them..
They ate coming to Uyo not to win but to cause an upset.. They are coming to frustrate us,park the bus or even injury our best players. Anything just to have an advantage in the return leg in Yaoundé.

We mustn't allow it!!
Honestly I don't care about the outcome of that return leg in Yaoundé or Douala.

What we just need is those 3points in Uyo and they are 'realistically' out. How? Cameroun are on 2points, Nigeria on 6points, a win for us in Uyo and we go to 9points while they remain on 2 points with 3 matches to go. Even if they win in Cameroun we will still be 4points clear with just 2 games left. Although we still need to put an eye on the Zambia- Algeria clashes.

So as it stands the game in Uyo is more crucial to this tie than the one in Cameroon. But if Cameroon should get any form of result (GOD FORBID!) the tie in Cameroon becomes do or quench.

yeah I was among those...who never wanted ezenwa and akpeyi near the eagles.....for reason that ezenwa wasn't the best in the domestic league....

but his performance against Benin made me....have a rethink...

at least he won't do another agbim on us....

for now....I think he is ahead...he should start If rohr deem it to be...

for your midfield pair...

you're right...onazi and ndidi will offer the much needed pace in these kind of match...
and etebo playing as winger wit V Moses gonna be deadly....

I think I like that....had it been Aina have been cleared by FIFA ....I don't mind him playing RB
he has a very good passing accuracy and ball control is top notch....
Bros that Benin game is not a true test o. The only save Ezenwa made all evening was the penalty save. I am not hating on him o. I am just saying it as it is. Compare that with the nature of oppositions Akpeyi has faced: Egypt in Alexandria, Algeria, Senegal and South Africa.

Akpeyi is not being given a fair assessment here honestly. I am not saying he is a fantastic goalkeeper but he is not as bad as people tag him to be here.

Like I said on twitter, Dembele's transfer fee is a fraud that needs to be investigated. Think about the amount being mentioned on Coutinho!

The transfer market has really gone crazy my brother.

Some times I would just be pondering is it that value of players have gone astronomically high our the Pounds and Euros have lost value?

OMANBALA1:
Firstly,I have always known Ezenwa is a better keeper because I followed him in the local league. He is the quickest and more intelligent out of the three invited. I never really cared for Akpeyi because of this air of jittery around him. And going by Ezenwa's excellent performance at the CHAN qualifier I believe he has the momentum.

Hate or love him ,Onazi is more experienced, very dependable and has proven himself more on super eagles shirt that the newbie,Ndidi. On this premise,I will start him ahead of Ndidi . In addition to that,Onazi excel when Mikel is present. P.S I will start Ogu ahead of Ndidi maybe because Ndidi rubbed me off the wrong against South Africa.

I forgot we have Ola Aina but I am not a big fan of English groomed players. Awaziem is a true Naija and gets it and the whole mentality. Shehu is sitting on a thin ice...Don't care much for him.
You want to start Awaziem at RB? No room for wild experiments in this game.

Remember what happened the last time we played Ndidi at RB?

It takes an experienced member of the team to switch positions like that. Like Omeruo playing RB against Algeria. Like also Shehu playing RB which is not his primary role (although he has played mostly RB for Nigeria than DM). Leon Balogun can also play RB. But not a newbie like Awaziem especially in a match of this calibre.

Plus I will pick Ndidi in the DM role over Onazi.
With Iwobi out I would move Etebo to LWF and play an Ndidi - Onazi (CM) midfield pair.

People clamouring for Mikel at CM, we need his creativity more in the AM position.
To unlock a stubborn defense you need very creative players in the AM/ Wing positions and Mikel is the most creative amongst our Midfielders.

Talking about Ezenwa, where were you when he was being treated like a piece of trash here. At least some of us stood up for Akpeyi.

Secondly, Ndidi. He is a sure starter.

I think we totally agree on this. last season Moses Simon didn't really light up the Europa league but just like you and Icon4s said, there are a lot more that will be considered first.

all that aside, I really want to understand why Moses Simon still plays as a winger for us. he literally played the whole season as the SS probably because Samuel Kalu benched him, why then is he a starter for the SE when we have tons of players who can play that position well enough?
I wouldn't say Simon is a starter in the Super Eagles. Iwobi and Moses are our first choice. Simon gets to start when one of the two is missing out. Like with Iwobi out now Simon is likely to start.

Simon I think has done enough in the past with the national team to deserve another invitation.

You think he's wrong? Then bring forth your argument. As long as he is not attacking you and calling you names, there is no need to take it personal. Call him out on his comment and ask him to prove his assertion.

On another note, I know you both do turn it personal on occasion when you engage, and on that you will not see me put my mouth. I don't care. Slug it out. Your cup of tea, both of you!

But I see no reason to take it personal when he is attacking NFF, the coaches, or any other person who is a public officer or entity. It's common knowledge that Siasia has his boys.*I cannot begin to name the number of people that have written about that here. You have used "Siasia boys" a couple of times in our threads. How is his own different? Can you also be accused of what you accuse him of?

Anyone rooting for Alampasu here has directly or indirectly inferred that Agu is incompetent and it is his incompetence that has made Akpeyi and Ezenwa mainstays in the Eagles. What has he said differently?

If instead of asking him to proof his comments about public officers and entities, your first recourse is to accused him of tribalism, then it is fairly safe to conclude that you are tribalistic yourself and one that would shut down all dialogue do we do not get to the bottom of an issue.
I recall telling forgiveness that I accused Siasia of having his boys. Same goes for Keshi but I never called it Nepotism. Look at the mix of boys we call Siasia's boys are they all from one Ethnic group? But forgiveness called it Nepotism reasons for which we know.

This is a public forum and people can come and go as they wish. He can go on exile and come as he wishes. If he is back and you think he says something you don't agree with, it's lazy to use the tribalism tag.

I called you out because I know you started it. Prior to that time, it was fact for fact and the best man usually wins, or we just get tired of the argument and move to other matters. It was a needless trend you started. Who cares where anyone is from here? I surely don't, so whoever starts with tribal tags is sure to get on my nerves and you asking me to say my mind on this matter all in the name of the same tribal tag is another show of shame. Again, counter fact with fact. If you think he is undeserving of your attention, wakapass. How many times do we wakapass posts of people who promote bets here?
Tell me who started using the word "Nepotism" here.

A person that will clearly come here to say a particular set of players being in or excluded from the team is due to nepotism.

He accused Siasia of nepotism. And when Rohr and Salisu came on stream he also accused them of nepotism. I had to tease him with words like " I can see Rohr is from Anambra and Salisu is from Imo".

A person that clearly says Daniel Akpeyi and Ikechukwu Ezenwa are in the team because an Alloy Agu is the goal keeper coach.

Fact that I was the first to openly call him a tribalist doesn't mean others didn't see him as one before I mentioned it.

If you don't see tribal sentiments in what he says then you are in solidarity with him. Simple.

And look, bigger fora have come and gone and we have moved on. You created this thread you can shut it down this moment if you so wish. We will all move elsewhere.

Hahaha na me na me supereagle. No Ghanaian nor South African ever threw a stone at Nigeria without me hauling missiles in return.

My favorite moments in kickoff came in 2013 when we won the AFCON, Qualified for 2014 WC, and won the U17 championship. O I remember that feeling after we beat Ghana 6-1 in that CAF U17 opener. Nigeria had the last laugh before the site was closed.

Nigerians were so united on that forum. No talks of tribalism. We were always united against our enemies. SA were our worst victims as we were always trashing them. We won the AFCON in their backyard. That same 2013 was the year we beat them 2-0 in front of Nelson Mandela in the Nelson Mandela Challenge . That back heel from Uche Nwofor. We followed that win with a 3-1 trashing at 2014 CHAN just a few months later. The only way they could get back at us was to call us drug lords. Hahahaha.

All through from 2008 to 2014 I was one of Nigeria's finest e-warrriors on kickoff.

I was also part of #team "we swim and sink with Amodu" in 2008.

We have retired from such now. Besides we are all Nigerians here no need for such bantering.

The suggestiveness when it has to do with forgiveness is truly amazing. It was Icon4s that started it in one of their heated arguments and since then it has been a recurring pattern for anyone who happens to disagree with him subsequently to use it as a cop-out when he runs out of sound arguments. It's so easy to latch on to it when nothing substantive can be offered in the discussion.

He says a lot of nonsense that I just ignore, like some others here, but somehow he manages to back them up, even when they sound childish. But it is confirmation bias to say the only people he fronts for to make the Eagles are his tribesmen. Anyone who has been on this thread long enough knows that he argues for anything foreign. That's all he knows and I 100% can tell you that he has argued for foreign players from the North, South and East of the country that are legitimate for the Eagles.

If anyone has a reason why those he fronts should not be called, let him bring forth their arguments. Constantly reverting to 'tribalism' may excite some people here, but it's a sight that kills off all manner of constructive discussion.

For instance, I had expected the moniker in question to call him up on the issue of "Rohr and cultism", not bring up the childish label of tribalism. Life is not so serious.
Excuse me.

Please don't bring me into this current matter.

I have been on this thread now since inception and I can tell you I know the thinking pattern of almost everyone here.

You don't need to defend anybody. Let him defend himself except if you are telling us you share same sentiments with him.

He went on self imposed exile and we have been enjoying discussions without seeing that word 'tribalism'. He is back and that word keeps coming up.
Even accusing Rohr of cultism just because he didn't include certain players from a certain part of the country. I don't blame anyone for accusing him of tribalism.

I believe u have been following this game for so long and it's simple 80% of this present squad w make d team to Russia, only special talent w gate crash into d team just like d way Olishe,Amuneke make d US 94 team during qualifier and Chidi Nwanu,Mike Emenalo break into d main team by displaced Isaac Semitone and Nduka Ugbade respectively after Tunisia 94 Afcon.

Truly, goalkeeping aspect is for grab for anybody coz d opportunity is open,Ikeme is down,Enyeama coming back look dicey, Akpeyi yet to prove is equal to d task.

RB,I see Ola Aina as d answer but need to wait for his debut game but he has every thing to claim d RB,Echiejele at LB,well I can say much but a good player in d mould of Aina w be an answer, though Echiejele still has d experience.

The CB is okay with d pair of Balogun and Ekong, hope player like Awaziem can raise his game and Omeruo can regain his form but any good rookie can break into this team.

D midfield is saturated with a lot of options either in DM,CM,AM with player like Mikel,Ndidi,Onazi,Ogu,Agu,Etebor,Iwobi,Esiti etc so it w take a rare gem to break into this team, also attacks is full of options with d likes of Nacho, Ighalo,Musa,Vic Moses,it w take special talent to displace this guys.
Yeah. No coach likes changing a winning team.

If this team can manage to squeeze through to Russia from this kind of group then you'll agree with me that many of them would be difficult to displace.

You are very right about the defensive setup and the prospects we have. Same goes for the midfield.

It will really take exceptional talents to break in.

Talking about that RB position many here thought Tyrone Ebuehi would easily walk into that position with the kind of stats and ratings we were seeing here but Lo and behold he is not ready.
I would also want Rohr to have a good assessment of Aina. Shehu is not a natural RB so I would want to see a natural RB in that position in the fore-seeable future.

However if the young RBs are not ready then Shehu should continue in that position.

For that midfield it would be difficult for a young/newbie to break in. Hopes were high on Kelechi Nwakali. But he seem not to be ready. Someone like Azubuike Okechukwu needs to be more than convincing to return to the Super Eagles.

For the wing forwards position, so many names are flying: Henry Onyekuru, Samuel Kalu, Denis Bonaventure, Peter Olayinka. This season would determine which of them would be given a chance to fight for a position. The likes of V. Moses, Alex Iwobi, And Simon Moses are definitely ahead. Even Ahmed Musa due to experience. Baring Injuries I expect V. Moses and Alex Iwobi to make it to Russia. Ahmed Musa, and Simon would have up there games to remain above those Rookies who are already knocking on the door.

For our attack, a lot depends on Iheanacho's performance at Leicester this season. Rohr plays a lone striker. If iheanacho gets it right at Leicester he seals that CF position. Else he throws it open for even Rookies like Osimhen, Awoniyi and Kingsley Michael to get a look in.
