Icon79: True. If we win today's game then we have better than 75% chances of qualifying, even if we lose in Yaoundé. Today's game is arguably the most important game of the 2018 WC qualification, as far as the Super Eagles is concerned.

Icon79: Bro, I have called out the NFF on twitter regarding the ongoing Aina's clearance scandal. Somebody have to lose his/her job if Nigeria doesn't get result from these two games. This issue has been going on for months now and they knew that we have two crucial games in Sept., yet these incompetent folks still can't get their acts together. Sad!
I totally agree with you on Simon. His game seriously lacks end products. I would've definitely preferred to see Etebo in that position. To me, Simon to play better as a super sub.
As per the highlighted, I definitely hope that Ighalo can use this as a statement game because he hasn't impressed me on green and white. One thing I like about KC is his ability to get himself in good position to score.
O pari Depend on the NFF at your own peril. Such a shameful show of inefficiency. Even if Aina is not cleared for this clash the NFF would be more under intense pressure to secure his clearance before the Zambia game. All is not lost. Let's first focus on winning today's game and heaven can fall in Douala in the next game who cares. |

safarigirl: Uganda have not shed blood, sweat and tears for a world cup ticket like generations of Egypt have.
It's nice to see small teams battle with the big dogs, but everyone must earn their spot. If they can manage third place at any AFCON tournament, fine, they'll earn the right. For now, almost has to be enough
For the sake of justice and fairness, Egypt and Senegal are two teams I need to see at that world cup Which blood did Angola And Togo shed before qualifying for 2006 WC. If Uganda finish top so be it. They have worked for it. If Egypt cannot defeat Uganda in in Egypt sorry they don't deserve being in the world cup. |

edi287: What about the ones like Agbonlahor whom we invited while they were at the English youth teams?? Some of these guys when they were "unknowns" probably weren't better than what we had. When someone like say Adebayor propped up (i.e around 04), we certainly had better strikers than him. Yes you could say we should do better in regards to scouting, but I'm sorry if these foreign born players aren't /weren't better than the options we had when they were "unknowns", why should we invite them? NFF needs to better in terms of scouting, but we should be careful not to overpander some of these guys because they are foreign born. You have said it all my brother. |

Guinea 3-2 Libya.
Guinea led 2-0 up till the 87th minute when Libya pulled 1 back and made it 2-2 by 88minutes. Guinea scored the winner after stoppage time.
This same Libya are in our AFCON qualifiers group. From this game they are no pushovers. They eliminated Algeria on a 3-2 aggregate to qualify for CHAN. |

BascoVanVeli: Why Indomitable Lions Will Beat Super Eagles In Uyo – Cameroonian Journalist 0 August 31, 2017 4:47 am
By Kayode Ogundare (pix: Ganiyu Yusuf) in Uyo:
A Cameroonian journalist Wiliam Tchango has run the rule over Nigeria’s Super Eagles as well as the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and is of the opinion that the Lions have a slight edge over their Nigerian counterparts.
In an exclusive chat with completesportsnigeria.com in Uyo, Tchango reckons that the Nigeria is blessed with a lot of quality players but that Cameroon has a better team and therefore are likely going to carry the day.
“Nigeria have world class players like Victor Moses, Mikel Obi, Alex Iwobi and the midfielder in Leicester City (Wilfred Ndidi). So many players you have with very good quality. But Cameroun are stronger as a team. They will come here hoping to surprise your team in front of your fans. We won the AFCON with average players but they have matured into a good team. They have a point to prove to Africans that they deserve to be African champions and they will do that by qualifying for the World Cup,” the staff of www.cameroon-info.net said on Wednesday.
Tchango also claimed that Nigeria will be lucky to get a draw because the Lions have had more time together as a team and are likely going to be more cohesive.
He continued: “I think it will be a very interesting match. It is important for both teams because Nigeria, as the group leaders want to win so they can maintain their lead while Cameroon also want to win so that they can cut the lead down to one point before the return leg. Cameroon will come with the motive of winning the game even though they know it will be a difficult game.”
Finally, he predicted that Cameroon’s worst result in Uyo will be a draw because of their technical superiority.
“I predict that if Nigeria plays well enough they can get a point from the game. I think Cameroun’s worst result from this game will be a draw. I expect us to win outrightly,” he said.
Both sides are scheduled to meet again in the reverse fixture on the 4th of September in Yaounde. Anyways arrogance is allowed. You shall eat your words tomorrow. |

terzurum5: NFF in the dark over Lions’ plans
’Tana Aiyejina
The Nigeria Football Federation are still in the dark over when the Indomitable Lions will arrive Uyo for their 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles on Friday.
The African champions have kept their travel plans to themselves, with the Nigerian FA uncertain of when they would arrive the country.
“About 50 hours to the match, we still haven’t heard from them (Cameroonians). They previously reached out to us on what they are entitled to on arrival in Nigeria like transportation and security and we told them,” Ademola Olajire, NFF spokesman, said.
“But they haven’t told us when they are coming. We believe that they would probably land on Wednesday night, just to be able to make the official training on Thursday evening. We also believe they will arrive before that time. Some countries do it; they may be coming via a chartered flight.”
However, Olajire added that irrespective of the tricks of the Eagles’ fierce rivals, the federation was banking on the experienced players to subdue the visitors.
“We have players who have the ability, who are tested, have seen it all; players who love to go to war. They will get the job done. Mikel Obi, Victor Moses, Aaron Samuel and Odion Ighalo are all back. These are players that can get the job done. There’s also new boy Anthony Nwakaeme, who has been doing very well in Israel. I strongly believe the Eagles are going to subdue the Lions,” Olajire added.
http://punchng.com/nff-in-the-dark-over-lions-plans/ Their headache. If they like let them enter with boat through Bakasi peninsula. Tomorrow they will complain of being neglected at the airport. |

"Ko sogbon to le da, ko si wa to le wu to le fi taye lorun o o o/2x"
human beings are the most complex creature and are hard to please.
Start Akpeyi-he is jittery Ezenwa-he is short, lacks confidence and not imposing. Play Alampasu-he is rookie. Recall Enyeama- he is old and passed it.
Abeg who then should we put between the sticks. May be we should go and rent De Gea or Courtois.
All we can do is to support anyone the coaching crew decides to field. Alloy Agu himself should keep goal. |
