Humility017: c'mon, help us talk to the lad... the corruption he witnessed obviously was in the under 15 set up when that coach later choose to benched him, the flimsy excuse online was that he wanted give other local groomed players the opportunity to play and have them noticed for potential move abroad... being Lateef already have his own settled.
please still help convince him..... wish Rohr can have him invited for AFCON or possibly Pinnick can talk to him.
something tells me that lad gonna be great few years from now... he will be star we gonna regret loosing A 15 years old kid that is not good enough for the CAFU17? You must be joking right? |

Averaging 2.3 goals per game. Meaning averagely he scores 2 or 3 goals per game. Is it until when he scores average of 4 or 5 goals per game? Roghr might not be top notch tactically but he delivers which includes scoring goals and winning. |

The boy can become another Ronaldo or Messi in the future. But let us respect Manu's decision to drop him now due to his current form. News emanating from camp says he fell short. So? charlesemeka85: Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has hinted that some Super Eagles stars will beef up the Nigeria U20 National Team ahead of their trip to Poland for the Fifa U20 World Cup.
Although names were not mentioned by the German, the likes of Enyimba duo Ikouwem Udo and Valentine Ozornwafor, who were handed maiden call-ups to the Super Eagles last month, plus Villarreal's Samuel Chukwueze are eligible to represent the Flying Eagles.
Rohr also plans to monitor the outstanding Golden Eaglets stars just as the Dutch coach Clemens Westerhof, who promoted Nwankwo Kanu and Victor Ikpeba to the senior national team after they impressed for the youth team.
''It will be interesting to be together with the U23s, they play on the 5th and 9th of June, so we can work together. We must have a good relationship with this team, with my assistant Imama,'' Rohr told the Super Eagles Youtube channel.
''We also have to watch the U20 World Cup which takes place in Poland, starting end of May. Some of our players will be there, so we need a good relationship with everybody even the U17 which is the future.
''I know that my colleague Clemens Westerhof was discovering some big players in the U17 World Cup, like Victor Ikpeba.
''We also have Osimhen, we work for the future even if I am not here. We work for the future of Nigeria''.
The Super Eagles are expected to begin their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations preparations in Nigeria before moving camp to a different climate. Tell me why I would not Love this man called Rohr. |

forgiveness: I heard he didn't train with the team from the onset. If true, this is enough to believe there was a premeditated plan to drop him even before kicking a ball.
Perhaps, he trained with the team and he saw he is better than some players taken ahead of him due to the Nigerian factor he witnessed with his two eyes in the camp.
If he's not good enough, I don't think America will want him in their team. What is your own definition of "onset"? Do you know when Manu started preparing his team? Lateef was never part of the Eaglets. He was part of the U15 and even took part in that tournament late last year. If i am not mistaking he was drafted into the team after we booked the CAF U17 ticket. You are now talking as if he was purposely kept out of training. He was simply not up to par. After all Adrian Akande joined the team a couple of weeks ago and he is in. Lateef should take this as a learning curve and continue his development. If he is good enough for the next U17 team he will be considered. |

komekn: Being born outside Nigeria doesn't make you less Nigerian infact it many areas you may be more patriotic in your passion for a better Nigeria. And less compromising on some of our established and accepted but wrong norms and values,i.e. Corruption, lies, age cheating, etc.
Unfortunately that particular position may see you as an outsider because of your uncompromising stand on sharp practices and insistence on integrity.
If we go way back in time we have always had Nigerian origin players in the SE, such as John Chidozie. This was however the purist period when performance and passion was the only consideration.
However, introduction of €€€£££$$$ and big buckets of it, have changed the entire mentality of football and the NFF. In reality this love of money by any means possible has gone so deep into the national psyche. That l don't think we can solve the problem. Over the years we have become morally bankrupt.
But back to football and l find that the issues of prejudice, dislike and negative bias garnished with unfounded disdainful bigotry and dubious presumptions are placed on Nigerian origin essentially because they were not born in Nigeria.
Many make theses unfounded prejudgments on Nigerian origin players including myself on this forum. Tells of deep seated issues that I still cannot understand. Is it that over the years there are differences in sociological orientation norms and values, l don't know ❓
Not too long ago Sone Aluko had outstanding performances for Nigeria, but was completely frozen out for no apparent reason. I personally know why but it had Nothing to do with football. More to do with the shameless demands of a certain well known very Bullish national NFF coach. I have not mentioned any names Oh !!!
Nearly all the Nigerian origin players that have played for Nigeria in the last 10 years that l have spoken too have all told me. That they all experienced demands for Honorarium and monetary appreciation they all found this very disconcerting. It is presented in a subtle suggestion but understood to be obligatory.
This may be at the heart of the matter.
Nigerian origin players born in Europe and playing for teams wish to honour thier country but don't feel they should pay for the privilege. They don't need the SE to further thier careers. As a result they are not inclined to sign with your preferred agent or sign any kind of agreement attached to future earning and or pay you any Honorarium.
The desperate situation we have at home means there are hundred of thousands of players. Who will sign anything and agree to everything to give thier football career a boost. We know about the exposed coach Salisu which for me us the tip of the iceberg. That is a major difference between the two sets of players Nigerian born and Nigerian origin.
Most of the boys in Nigerian academies at the heart of thier dreams and motivation is coming to Europe to play professional football. They will all be connected to the NFF through thier various sponsors. Who look at them as investments.
I am not sure if TPI is outlawed in Nigeria❓ But there are ways around it particularly in Nigeria. These academy owners will know how to circumvente the process and get thier players in. This is Nigeria we know what can happen and what often does. In a nutshell, Nigerian origin players born in Europe will not pay, EGUNJE, particularly when thier careers are on the ascendancy. Unfortunately those on Nigeria are more inclined too.
"Who pays the piper dictates the tune " Oga all this write up because of Lateef Omidiji. The boy simply did not measure up and was dropped. Period. Kudos to Manu for selecting based on merit and not sentiments. |

Oasis007: Though I wish to see him [Lateef] in GWG, but I trust the Decision of Manu Garba and kudos to the NFF for not forcing Lateef on him.
Lateef needs to calm and wait for the future. I understand his Temperament, he's young, did everything to don the GWG but feeling dejected and rejected for not making the final List.
I will rather advise him to keep it cool, up his Game, who knows he might be on Board to the World Cup. After all he played the U15 tournament, is that not also GWG?. The boy is still young to play U17 abeg. He should wait for the next crop. There are so many U15 talents discovered from that U15 tournament not just Lateef. He should wait and play with his mates in 2years time. |

Hazard is World Class and has been a class act since 2008 until today.
Neymar from 2010 he was a class act. By 2011, he was the best player in the whole South America and is a class act until today.
So, Neymar, (All though I will wait until the end of next season but clearly World class) same with Hazard.
Mbappe, Salah and Mane, not yet. Top quality players, yes but not World class. Oga, based on your definition of "world class" Hazard and Neymer should not be world class.
