ChrisKels: Hmmm OK oo, buh my boy has been consistent for about four seasons now. These past years ighalo hasn't done nothing to justify his inclusion in the NT.
About this line "How was his rating compared to Ighalo, Iheanacho, Success, Simmy and co as at then(2017-19)?", u just shot urself in the foot here bkus ,statistically, none of those guys came close to him. Don't get me started with ighalo's armature CSL stats, we all know it was a fluke As at then 2017-2019? You are just trying to prove what does not exist Who is talking about 2018 or 2019? Abeg I no get ur time this morning. |

Earthquake2: Other fixtures
South Africa VS Zimbabwe
Zambia VS Congo
Ghana VS Algeria
Cameroon VS Tunisian
Ivory Coast VS Guinea
Congo DR VS Mali Sudan Vs Nigeria First Leg 5th June, second Leg 9th June, 2019. Perfect end of season timing. So we unleash our full foreign based squad once again. AFCON does not start until 2 weeks after the second leg. So Rohr can as well borrow us some of his boys again No mercy. We learnt from the mistake of Libya first leg. |

ChrisKels: u want make I go deeper?
Well, I will keep doing my good job of unearthing quality players for our various national teams. Good thing my boys are proving to be hits, back to back Go deeper to do what? Paul Onuachu was never a SE material until this 2018/2019 season (this was not even much of a debate because it was so obvious). The post u went to dig up was in 2017 when Paul was really lagging behind in the pecking order of Nigerian strikers.I don't even remember going into any debate about Paul Onuachu with you or anybody. So I don't know what you are going deeper into. The National team is not for every D!ck and Harry, it is only for proven players. Paul Onuachu has proven this season he is ready to compete for a place in the SE. He was invited and nobody questioned his invitation. So what game are you playing here? Your usual attempt of trying to claim cheap Glory Bros no market for you today |

^^^ so what did I say here now that will warrant me to make any apology? That post came in 2017. What was Paul Onuachu's game level at that time? How was his rating compared to Ighalo, Iheanacho, Success and co as at then?
I don't think anybody here raised eyebrows when Paul Onuachu made Rohr's list in this 2019 as it was glaring he deserved the call up. So I don't know which Glory you are trying to claim here. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 8:13am On Mar 27, 2019 |
ChrisKels: Icon4s and Forgiveness should apologise for what they said about Onuachu when I first brought him to our notice.
I told u guys I never liked the idea of Simmy Nwankwo, that Onuachu was a better option buh u guys and others said I was always opposing every move by Rohr and that Onuachu plays in a back water league. Icon4s in particular was more critical about Onuachu. Yea, it is still early days, buh my boy has shown that talent no dey hide.
I saw Forgiveness shouting "this Onuachu na baller ooo" and I was like You need to state when that discussion on Onuachu took place. It couldn't have been this year or last Year. Onuachu has been a subject of discussions here since Siasia invited him for trials with the Olympics team in 2014 of which he was not impressive and was dropped. I am never one of those that classify leagues as back-water leagues. Go check my posts. Almost everyone acknowledged his improvement this season even being the highest scoring Nigerian player. So it is a no brainer for Rohr to invite him and a lot was also expected of him and he delivered. So I don't know the point you are trying to make here. |

safarigirl: lol.
No just try yourself say you wan go AFCON without Odogwu Mikel, else, we fit lose to Madagascar sef. You underestimate the psychological boost Mikel's presence provides in that team, sans his contribution on the pitch.
Mikel's era will end soon, but for now, nothing like over reliance. No mind am. Because we don beat Egypt now our mouth don begin sharp. These are the same people that will berate Rohr for not taking Mikel to the AFCON if things don't work out for us. |

komekn: One response in my philosophy.
The best defence is in attack, you can ask Guardiola about that and see it personified in Manchester city.
Which forward thinking team sits on a one goal lead ❓ Remember it was Egypt we just played and not just Libya or Sudan. A team we last beat at the 1990 AFCON! And take note that Nigeria did not just relax on that one goal. We kept pushing for a second goal as the Egyptians were second best for the greater part of the game. Like I said before a losing team typically will want to come all out to attack during the later stages of a game and the winning team typically would want to protect the lead they have. National team is different from club. We don't have the attacking power that Mancity have and we cannot go and purchase it. |

Humility017: forget....it. just wait for the afcon to start proper then you will marvel on what was the reason then for the wild celebrations by this debutant nations many will be the first to head home after the group stages......
If we happen to play Egypt...I foresee us beating them if the players can be psych enough and with the inclusion of Mikel and iwobi in the starting 11 Guy forget, friendly is friendly. If we happen to meet Egypt in the AFCON expect a completely different game from them especially as they would be playing in Front of their home crowd. Let's not be carried away by tonight's Victory o. |

komekn: We have had a lot of possession early on but we did not Kill off the match.
We may yet regret this complacent approach.
I am not OVERLY impressed we are improving but a lot if work to be done.
We are now letting the Egyptians back into the game because we never KILLED IT OFF when we had all the possession without penetration. It is normal for a team that is down to increase their push for a goal while the leading team goes more conservative to maintain their score line. U don't expect the Egyptians to bow out without a fight. |

Humility017: i tire even me from same place with him, give me the opportunity i will look for excuse to remove him from the National team once and for all.... and give other young productive players the chance to laid hold on the CF role.... i am a tribalist according to one enthusiastic Ighalo Lover I just wonder! I made a comment about Iwobi one day and someone brought Ighalo talk into it giving it an ethnic tint. And I was like "wetin bring Ighalo into this matter. Are both players competing for same position"? It was a second read of the comment that made me realize some here feel Ighalo is being criticized due to ethnic or Tribal reasons? the foreign media love (irony) the name too at least i know they laugh at it and its annoying The Americans had their own context of "Dream Team" and we have ours. Let the foreign media make enquiry on why we named ours "The Dream Team". |

I don't see anything wrong with the "Dream Team" tag. It is a dream team: an avenue to assess and select players we dream of being in the Super Eagles. We aim to select our Dream Super Eagles team from the U23 crop. |
