Solid line up! O pari TheSuperNerd: |
Meanwhile, Egypt is 0-1 down to Greece at half time. Shebi I told y'all that Egypt probably isn't gonna come out of that puff puff group. Remember Egypt lost to Portugal on Friday, and yesterday Netherland trashed Portugal! Now Egypt is losing to common Greece! Is this the same Egypt who beats out Ghana? It seems they only know how to play when it comes to African oppositions. O pari |
Na wa o. Unfortunately, I don't have DVR any more so I can't record and upload on youtube. Hopefully somebody would upload soon. O pari realpoacher: |
Haha!! That's the way it's supposed to be, but Nigerians don't care. They expect you to win all time every time. And play well too! It doesn't matter if it's a friendly ... it doesn't matter if you're trying out new players and new formations, you still gotta win. That's naija for you, win at all cost! ![]() O pari Clementoke: |

I am not sure about Beinsports international, but BeinSports USA is showing it at 10PM EST (delayed telecast, I believe). That's why I would be going offline in the next 1 hour .... I don't wanna hear the results before I watch the game ![]() And by the way, if you have access to ESPN 3, Egypt vs Greece is on now . O pari EmmGee: |
Did you watch Italy vs Argentina? After the very boring first half, the fans started chanting Messi's name ![]() And they kept at it until Banega scored the first goal for Argentina. We call it Messi-dependence. But there's no shame in that ... even the mighty Barcelona often depends on the G-O-A-T as well ![]() O pari safarigirl: |
Bros, you can search youtube for the link. I haven't looked yet, but BeinSport (May God bless that station) has been replaying the game since Friday. And they would carry tonight's game as well. O pari realpoacher: |
Oops. I did. I left after 35 mins ![]() O pari gbosaa: |
Not a bad decision. Let's hope that Awaziem would get a good run .... Omeruo can come in the second half. O pari TheSuperNerd: |
Same here ... the brother was going hard! He knew he needs to prove himself. Yup, it was a midfield battle all day. And did you notice how they overran our midfield once Joel Obi was taken off? And that's not to say that Onazi had a bad game either. O pari Joebie: |
You can watch it on ESPN3.com O pari Joebie: |
KPOM! I stated exactly the same thing. This Polish team would not concede a lot of goals in Russia and they will be a handful to many team. I expect them to do well. I have watched that friendly game 3 times already and each time I realized more and more how difficult that game was for the two teams. And I think they became a little scared of our players as the game progresses as well. It was a rough rugged game by both sides. O pari tbaba1234: |
Yea, let's hope that the coach isn't under pressure to win all these friendlies because I would really want to see Junior Ajayi this evening. Honestly, if I were Rohr, I won't even bother playing folks like VicMo, Ndidi, Ekong, Balogun, Onazi etc in today's game ... those positions are settled. Let's give the other players a chance to make a case for themselves. In addition, playing our reserve team would also confuse the opponent scouts. And by the way, I was watching Russia vs France, but I got bored to death ... still goalless when I logged off ![]() O pari Joebie: |
I am quite aware that the left side is supposed to be a little bigger than the right side (the keyword here being a little bigger ), but no one told me that the left side is supposed to be twice as big as the right side ![]() So how do you explain that ![]() midehi2: |
I would rather he misses the friendly and show up during the main event. Unlike Angel DiMaria who would play all the friendly and go AWOL during the main event, thereby costing his country a world cup glory in 2014 O pari safarigirl: |
Correct! Sorry for the typo. Yes, I have seen Joel play LWB a few times when he was at Inter Milan. And I agree with you on making change early as well. Against, Poland he left the changes come way too late into the game. I was expecting about 3 changes immediately before kickoff of the second half and 3 more about 10-15 mins later. O pari Joebie: |
I will go with the Lexus LX 570, without a doubt. I have the older model, LX 470 and it's most reliable and dependable vehicle you can ever think of. And it's quite comfy too. O pari |
Watch your language! O pari isan: |
Good line up. The player I really wanna see today is Ebuehi. And it looks like Joel Obi would be playing further up as well. And by the way, does Rohr know that Joel Obi can play the RWB position? Just in case the current crew can't deliver the goods. I would've like to see the likes of Awaziem, Uche Agbo, Kenneth Omeruo, and Aina start this game but I guess Rohr doesn't wanna lose the game so he chose not to experiment too much. O pari Joebie: |
Triple Kpom!! O pari Dedebanky85: |
I hope it wasn't what I am thinking ... ![]() O pari lexy2014: |
True, but you also gotta consider that Pele's first two of the three World Cup titles came with, perhaps, the greatest national team of all time. You can't say the same thing about Messi. Today, Messi is being looked up to do it all by himself. But nobody has ever done it by himself - FACT. Diego Maradona, for instance, had the likes of Bruchaga (sp) plus one of the best coaches of all time. Remember that, like Messi, Diego Maradona carried his team to the finals of the World Cup but he didn't score any goals in the finals .... he depended on others to step up, and they did! Today, the likes of Higuain, Aguero, etc would leave it all for Messi. And Angel DiMaria would conveniently got injured anytime the Argies have an important tournament. O pari asha80: |
Don't get me wrong, bro. I wasn't totally excited by our performance either because the result flattered us quite a bit. I the world cup, for instance, the goal scored by Poland would've stood because the ball was clearly over the line. And in addition, Poland missed more than 3 good chances. But in all, we're talking about two teams here: one team played badly but still found a way to win against a very strong team in their backyard. The other team, despite all their world class stars, played badly and lost 2-0 against a 10 man Peru team. Hence, all things considered, I will take our result over Croatia's all day. Like my high school coach would say, you're allowed to have a bad game as long as you win. According to him, the name of the game is TO WIN. O pari

|
So should we all agree that Leo Messi is the Greatest Of All Time (G-O-A-T)? I mean, Messi is the greatest ever, with or without the World Cup. I haven't seen enough of Di Stéfano or Eusebio, so there's some doubt there. But having watched a lot of Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Best and Beckenbauer, there's been no greater, more consistent force on the pitch during the toughest of defensive conditions than Messi. That's what separates him. Pele actually floated in a lot of big games, got fairly easily dispossessed on the attack, and became frustrated by tight, physical marking. Hope I don't get struck down for that bit of blasphemy Maradona had moments of the most electric brilliance of all time, but when the Ferrari engine wasn't running on peak form he could also easily fade out of matches. Messi brings all the attributes together that you could want and he is the most intelligent at breaking down difficult modern defenses. Guys set your DVRs now and make sure you record every action because there surely will never be another like him; where the mental and physical attributes come together and put on the incredible display of football year after year. So what were their mistakes? We need a comprehensive list o, jare. After all, they'd need to confess their sins before we can forgive them. That would tell us that they have learned their lessons! You allowed Patience Jonanthan to steal how much again .... (insert amount here)You allowed Diezani Alison-Madueke to steal how much again ..... (insert amount here)Oh, why even bother ... your president openly stated that stealing is NOT corruption O pari Clerverly: |
Fixed: Uzoho Ebuehi...Troost....Balogun...Aina J. Obi...Mikel....Ndidi V.Moses....Ighalo.....Nacho/Ajayi O pari safarigirl: |
Oga, the Croatia team I saw last night cannot defeat the current Super Eagles team. I stayed up late just to watch Croatia vs Peru game (for some reasons, BeinSport started the game at 10pm), but I still stayed glued to the TV. What I saw last night did not impress me at all. If they play the same way against us, then be rest assured that we'll beat them soundly. Mark my words! O pari komekn: |
So what kinda business are we talking about here? ![]() O pari o |
