First of all, everything you said is debatable but over and above that; a football team is not necessarily a collection of best individual players but a combination of the best team. Like I had said several times, if we don't do well in Russia it isn't gonna be because we missed any individual player. Fact is: I cannot think of any player who isn't invited that could offer something SIGNIFICANTLY better than the players currently in the team. The keyword being significantly. O pari komekn: This is why you test players and bring in new players to compare against existing ones.
We look at players progression in thier clubs we do not rely on past glories.
There are too many players who should have been tested but have been excluded. As it stands Aina is yet to be tested do we can make some deductions about his true quality.
That's why I asked for Obagoal to be tested is he past it His club form statistics are better than Ighalo's.
Can Omeruo be considered better than Dominic Iorfa we simply do not know. Why he has never been tested.
Is Agu better than Hope Akpan We will never know.
Is Aluko still quality is he a better AM than Iwobi he has been excluded by the powers that be, once again we will never know.
The question ❓ can we improve on what we have |

Same here. Reached the same conclusions myself. Ebuehi positions himself better both offensively and defensively. And he knows how to dispossess without fouling. he's definitely a more refined player than Shehu. And don't forget that Ebuehi was playing with injuries yesterday as well. Tyronne Ebuehi would be our starting RWB/RB in Russia. Mark my words! O pari Daejoyoung: Well from what l saw, defensively Ebuehi positions himself better than Shehu, and even though he attacks he is not easily caught out of position. |

LOL @purnishable. You might have a point there sha. They didn't quite impress me in the first half, but I missed most of the second half so I dunno. But nevertheless, for me, it's either Brazil or Argentina to win it all. I think that Brazil has the talent and the experience to win it all this time. As for the Argies, they might have an aging team and a weak defenceline but they also have the best player on the planet. So you can never write them off. I don't want Germany or any one of those overrated Euro teams (Spain, France, or Belgium) to win it. England cannot win it so they don't count O pari Joebie: From what I saw, Brazil looks purnishable |

Didier Drogba reveals two players better than Lionel Messi.... And Cristiano Ronaldo isn't one of them Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has revealed two players who are better than Lionel Messi. The Barcelona star has won the Ballon d'Or five times, Champions League four times and boasts of eight Spanish La Liga titles, but has failed to lift the coveted World Cup diadem. Argentina was on the verge of winning the World Cup in Brazil but lost out to Germany in the final. Though the former Cote d'Ivoire international admitted that the 30-year-old is ‘an extraordinary player,’ he is, however, of the opinion that the Barcelona star is still not at the height of Brazil’s legend Pele and Argentina’s Diego Maradona. “Messi could stop now and he would already have done a lot for football," Drogba told AFP. I totally agree. I may probably need to watch him one more time before I can cap this statement, but right now, the Ebuehi I saw in the second half of the friendly against Argentina is definitely the best FB/WB in the team. O pari TheSuperNerd: Ebuehi won't be dropped. Mark my words. A fit Ebuehi is going to Russia. He's got the Talents and requirements for the RB and RWB roles and he is benfica-bound. He also got the height which gives us added considerable advantages defending aerials. He is the tallest of our fullback options.
For me, This is between Echiejile and Aina most likely. And my own personal choice between those two is so obvious. |

Haha!! Seriously, not every player likes that responsibility. I was surprised what it did to Harry Kane's game, the time Pochettino tried to make him the Spurs captain. It took only a couple of games before Poch realized what's going on and quickly moved the armband away from him. And I noticed the same thing with Leon. His worst game in Green and White was that match he captained. Anyway, let's see how both he and Ekong will perform today. LOL. He's definitely gonna need it. No question I like the decision too. Leon didn't have his best game in Algeria and I partially blame it on the added responsibility of wearing the arm band. And Victor Moses, as much as I like him, is not a captain's material. O pari Kog45: Sir possibly Rohr want to build up Ekong confidence against Lewandowski, remember the guy is not new to Balogun.
I think i love that decision. |

It's funny you'd say that because on last few occasions Joel Obi had played for the Super Eagles, he played in a double pivot with Mikel. And based on my personal assessment and in the assessment of those who know better than I do (and I am talking about the legends of the game, such as Mathematical Segun Odegbami), Joel outshined Mikel each time. This isn't to say that Mikel didn't play well in those games, but it tells you how good Joel Chukwuma Obi can be when he's at his best. But is he gonna outshine Mikel on current form, I doubt it. Why ... because injuries have affected his speed and impacted his game in other ways, but he's still a quality player. O pari DrKlever: . lemme hear word! Some monikers here were against the ideal of Joel Obi's call up for several reasons. Some team cohesion and chemistry, while so many others for injury. I can remember someone saying Joel Obi can even get injured in an airplane on his way to russia. some others caller him waste of slot. although nobody denied that he is not good but sir you never said Joel Obi is our best midfielder. so he's now better than Mikel abi. Why are you pained if you ain't part of them?? I'm even sure you're among! you think i have the time to be digging out old comments, when I'm still struggling to catch up with new posts. |

Where's Ebuehi? Didn't he play. He's one player I would like to see start the game tomorrow, along with Joel Obi, Francis Uzohor, and Brian Idowu. Let's see how they would perform in the team. O pari TheSuperNerd: How Super Eagles Line Up In 4-2-3-1 Formation During Training Session, Idowu Picked Ahead Of Echiejile
https://i1.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_4320.jpg
Owngoalnigeria.com has obtained details of how the Super Eagles of Nigeria lined up in their evening training session yesterday which was supervised by coach Gernot Rohr.
The team had a practice game with coach Rohr separating the players into two teams for a practice game which ended 3-1 in favour of the team that looks likely to start (Team lineup A).
Ikechukwu Ezenwa had his first session with the team, and he was in goal for the team many believe is the B team while Francis Odinaka Uzoho manned goal for the A team.
The shock inclusion in the A team was Brian Idowu who started as left back for the team that had lost of the likely starters. His selection ahead of Elderson Echiejile and Ola Aina was the only major change in the team A.
Line Up Team A:
Francis Odinaka Uzoho ( GK)
Shehu Abdullahi
Brian Idowu
Leon Balogun
William Troost-Ekong
Wilfred Ndidi
Ogenyi Onazi ( Joel Obi)
Kelechi Iheanacho
Alex Iwobi
Victor Moses
Odion Ighalo
Line Up Team B:
Ikechukwu Ezenwa ( GK)
Ola Aina Elderson Echiejile
Chidozie Awaziem
Kenneth Omeruo
Uche Agbo
Joel Obi ( Eddy Onazi)
Moses Simon
Ahmed Musa
John Ogu
**Shedrack Obi
