RomanceRe: 7 Ways Feminism Is Destroying American Women by iconaus: 2:35am On Nov 01, 2013
I love this thread . It just unearthed what has been in my thought since i moved to the first world . The societies in the first world has been destroyed due to feminism. Other ethnic groups are hijacking things in the first world because they still maintain their culture in the first world while the westerners core family values are deteriorating significantly leading to collapse of the community fabrics hence dependency on socialwelfare

azzutee: I belief GEJ is a mistake to this country. Apart from being clueless, he also lack the will to utter a convincing and promising statements. Check the following comments from supposedly African leader;
1. FG cant perform magic.
2. Our govt is slow to avoid mistake.
3. Terrorism is in everywhere, maybe it is our turn.
Imagine our dear presido uttering those statements not minding what other world leaders will think of him.
How dare you say that God's chosen one is a mistake ? He is there for reason if not for development , exposure of the North/SW nefarious agenda for the country that will lead to better Nigeria or disintegration of Nigeria it depends on what North/SW want. If you people want peace then stop fighting the president unnecessary and support him to re build our country . The more you fight him the more you isolate your selves .

Gbawe: That is the crux of the matter but don't expect this prejudiced and ethnocentric individual to understand what you are saying. See how he even alludes to your "comrades", as in fellow Yorubas, because it is always about playing the ethnic card for them. These sort are just bigotry and clannishness personified. They have totally and nauseatingly ethnicised the Presidency of GEJ whereas no such thing existed under OBJ and Yar Adua who were heavily and mercilessly criticized also. The proven actions and inactions of GEJ that has worsened things for Nigeria are not something any of us made up yet some will begin talking of Lagos/Yoruba media when he is rightly criticized for that.

Was it the Yorubas who forced GEJ to shamelessly bin the recommendations of the Ribadu petroleum task force and then unleash Okupe and co on a vindictive mission to denigrate Ribadu?

Did GEJ not set up the Danjuma-led PAC? I.e Presidential advisory committee? What did GEJ do when that committee asked GEJ, as a matter of urgency, to cut waste, bloated governance and profligacy? He disbanded the committee and announced glibly to the world that "leaner Government not possible" !!!! Those are the sort of things, too many to list, that gets GEJ criticized by myself and others !!! Nothing at all to do with ethnicity. Yet it is a damn shame that, day in day out, some will still never gain the reasonable mind to note that no lies are told against GEJ. He has actually worsened things for Nigeria with his actions and inaction. All the talks of previous President and previous problems are the same bullcrap jingoist hide behind to validate their clannish support of GEJ.

Holding leaders to account is actually very easy for a sophisticated polity. For example, if you asked sensible folks from a sensible Country what their President has done to cut bloated governance they should be able to say such without equivocation. They should be able to point to cuts, reduced waste and a leaner, more efficient ways with which things are being done !!!

Ask Nigerians the same. A critic of government will rightly point to GEJ buying 3 planes at a cost of $151 million to add to a fleet of 7. Many will note that corruption is hideous under GEJ who is running "a scam a day" Government !!!! They will reason correctly that the crazy decision to hand pipeline protection contracts to former militants is the reason oil theft is now at an all time high !!!! They will tell you GEJ can never claim ignorance of the fuel subsidy scam since it is the FG and NNPC that issued fuel marketers licence to the scammers in the first place !!! They will highlight that the NNPC is unreformed and still the worthlessly corrupt and inefficient parastatal costing Nigeria a fortune. Folks will factually point to the lack of cost-cutting anywhere and show that there is no difference at all to the hideous profligacy and bloated governance that has always existed. Etc, etc, etc, etc !!!! In short things are worse because GEJ has not tried to do anything differently to how things have been done previously to get Nigeria where she is today !!! What do these critics then get for that truthful take on affairs? You guessed it. Accusations of "Yoruba/Hausa/Fulani haters". Absolutely sick to death of these people and I actually regret sharing a nation with such backward folks who are always sentimental and perpetually unable to confront facts.

It is a matter of semantics. As a leader, GEJ ought to choose his words wisely.

He needs to sound more diplomatic than blunt... Some call it political correctness.

Choice of words has more impact than most people would give credit to it. Even the bible acknowledges the power of the tongue. This is where handlers eg. Abati (unless just a paper tiger) need to step in to guide GEJ instead of resorting to damage control.

In this day and age when even handshakes, gait and body language are used as power tussle in the global arena, he should refine himself and stay off the ogogoro juice.

Pukkah: The most virulent critics of Obasanjo were from the South West. By the way, your complaints about Obasanjo are coming 6 years late! He left in 2007. Why did you keep quiet then.

The current President of Nigeria is Jonathan and he did promise to provide all the things we are asking him about.

Do you think it's wise to be talking about Obasanjo now?

What we need is good governance and not tribalism.
You are not making sense because legacy stays whenever there is one . As far as i am concerned no good legacy from OBJ for other upcoming leaders to follow . Even the elections that have improved under GEJ was unimaginably abysmal during OBJ . It left the legacy of election rigging, masssacre of civilians ( Odi) and third term

Gbawe: Id1ot, whatever is wrong with condemning OBJ and GEJ together, as unfit leaders, if that needs to be done? Were Yorubas not the biggest critics of OBJ? Yet it is always ethnic jingoist like you who will begin mentioning OBJ, Tinubu, Fashola and every Yoruba man when the failures and shortcomings of GEJ is being highlighted !!!! You guys are nothing but disgraceful.

What makes me personally irate about you morally compromised tw1ts is the fact that prejudice and hatred of others has totally compromised your moral compass. You cannot even see wrong or right anyone. Shame on you. I just pity your children because I don't know what morally compromised and debased individuals like you have to teach them but the same prejudice that has gotten you to where you are today.
Please enough of this crap that the yorubas were the most critics of OBJ administration. You deceive people who do not know you people . To some extent yes i agree with you because OBj during his tenure was not overly bigotry as against the aspiration of the SW . Though he had the likes of FFK who siphoned aviation purse recklessly with nothing to show for it and where were you people from the SW? Did you guys say something about the FFK . Hypocrites

You cant stand the truth . It is simple truth .OBJ was in power at a time when other African countries like Ghana and botswana were transforming their various countries and What did OBJ acheived ? Nothing complete nothing and you people did not say anything because he is one of you. Obj ruled for 8 yrs with out basic amenities like water, electricity, good roads, hospitals in short every thing and you people have mouth to castigate GEJ .

Gbawe: Dont mind the ethnocentric and bigoted clown. It is clowns like him, because they introduce ethnicity into everything, who will ensure Nigeria continue to host ludicrous jokers and mediocrities as President while others are making progress and moving forward rapidly.
Face the fact the North and the SW introduced tribalism in Nigeria even before independence till date . The same tribalism is not allowing them to give GEJ a chance because he is from the south South . The emergence of GEJ has exposed some tribes . Lets see how these North / SW will win election without the SE/SS/NC block votes . This is the dawn of a new era . Is good that other minorities are begining to understand the nigerian politics where the North and SW have marginalised other regions for longed and siphoned our resources with nothing to show for their many years in power . The SE had known this for long and had been alone .Thank God for GEJ administration which brought this in to lime light . GEJ did not bring tribalism instead regions who champion tribalism are fighting him because they cannot stand any body outside of the two regions to occupy that highest position - presidency.

In a situation of war, there is lack of growth in all ramifications . Nigeria is like a country in a state of war .This is evident in a war torn countries . Because we have learnt lesson from the civil war otherwise th boko haram menace would have triggered a full blown war .

When Gej inherited power , Boko haram has not been hijacked by politicians hence low level of deadly actions as compared to present day .

It is very clear that some tribes / religion do not want GEJ hence the heightened level of Boko boys . Government is chaneling a lot funds to security which would have been used for developmemt . How do u attract investors when Boko is constantly bombing and killing people for no apparent reasons? Therefore i concur with GEJ , in a situation like this people should not expect miracle .

For people who are making some irrational comments , what happened in the previous governments when Nigeria was not experiencing these kinds of crisis and yet no development ? What do you expect now we have hydra headed crisis manufactured by fellow citizens to make the country ungovernable by the incumbent ? Magic ?

Is not gona work . Nigerians are wiser . GEJ till 2019

Because you get bigots in NL . That is where they show their hatred for Igbo people . No mater what; what ll be will be no matter how you try to stop it . if the allegation against her is right , that is wrong but why her only ? i know worse has happened ( FFK when he was in that position) or is happening in other ministries but nothing has been said . It is a pity for Nigeria . With this type of hatred ; we cant function as a unified entity . Civil war made Nigeria worse and we are still suffering from the effect of civil war . It is not possible to think that a region can be suppressed for eternity because of civil war - no condition is permanent - one day there is going be a change and the wind of change is blowing now and some people are not comfortable to that . The world is really unfair .

mikeansy: one thing I like about this team is the way they hound opponents down to get the ball without committing silly fouls. We have a real team, Nigerians need to support the team. if Keshi fails to qualify us to Brazil or we put up a disgraceful show at Brazil please by all means sack him. But while he is on the job I will continue to back him and his team even though they all come from Illa
good comment - i think Keshi is not what he is labelled to be - tribalist . If u re observant there are many igbos doing well in soccer both natainally and internationally and in the end many of them a called up to Supper eagles and keshi wants to deliver and retain his job hence fields people who can do the jobs . The facts still remains that igbo people are special breed / talented in all endevours( business, education, athletes/sport/ soccer / bravely, hardworking the list goes on ) . People should accept this and be happy for them much as some tribes are blessed with certain good talents. seeing every thing on tribal point of view is wrong .

TravelRe: Pilots Were Arguing Before Agagu's Plane Crashed - Blackbox by iconaus:
ndu_chucks: Stop misinforming people. That partiucular aircraft had the capacity to take off by utilizing the flaps or take off without engaging the flaps. The alarm was to allow the pilot to decide whether to abort the takeoff, or signal a takeoff without flap engagement. The pilot apparently chose to proceed without engaging the flaps but because the aircraft was not air worthy in the first place, we had the crash.

I hold those who are charged with air safety including madame ministress squarelyt responsible for this mishap. Don't get it twisted, dolo.
so u re blaming the Minister and not the pilot . people re unfair in this world . plane crash occurs every where including USA etc which could be a human error in the part of the pilot as in this case. U guys re terrible and bigots
TravelRe: Pilots Were Arguing Before Agagu's Plane Crashed - Blackbox by iconaus:
donphilopus: With all this, do we still believe the crash was an act of God?
NO
Yes it was destined to happen despite warning - Now people should not blame the Minister . accidents occurs every where . When it is bound to happen it ll will happen . Sometimes it is a result of human errror or the pilot , in this situation how can you blame the Minister .If a driver of a vehicle is drunk and accident happens- who do you blame .

i think the westerners should stop going against public servants who re not from their zones . Minister of Aviation is receiving all these becuase she tries to correct the loopsidedness in the distribution of vital offices in the avaitaion which was occupied in the past by one tribe. (yorubas ) . Obj ruled for 8 yr s and the north for 40 yrs no such criticism was meted out to public officers who hailed from those regions despite high scale of maladministration which has put Nigeria in this position. This is the reason why GEJ is calling for national conference .

Let me clarify something here - yorubas are crying for marginalisation under GEJ . But when you view this critically this is not so . in the past, most govt positions would go North and the west . But now every region is given a fair go to top govt positions . Now you can see officers from the minority regions occupying vital positions unlike befroe and this appears that the west is being marginalised . This is the first time post war it appears that equity has been established though the north is still favoured a bit . We should give GEJ kudos . The west should stop whining and stop trying to pull GEJ administration down for trying to correct the ill of the past administration in terms of sharing the natioanal entitlements .

PoliticsRe: Regional Poverty In Nigeria- North, South-West Worse Hit by iconaus: 12:45am On Oct 11, 2013
omodapson: People should stop arguing blindly. What has infrastructures got to do with the impoverish state of the people of an area. There are many African countries with better infrastructures but the people in some of these countries live in abject poverty. Zimbabwe is a good example! I have traveled to many states in Nigeria and I can say from the level of poverty that I've experienced that there is no region that is a poverty stricken as the North.

It is only in the North that you can travel 5 hours on a motor bike on a dusty God forsaken road  to get to another village! Those who probably think that the North is well developed are only the privileged Notherners who have not traveled to the interiors of the North. The road in the North are longer because of the land mass the region enjoys and it could have been the same for the South if the South also enjoys big land mass. My logic tells me that no matter the distance between a state and another, you just have to create a link.

Also, you can't judge a bull by its horns. When you go to most of the villages in the North, their cry is usually "those of you in the South are so privileged". Thank God my job takes me to the interiors in the North.

One thing that should be noted is that we are all still very "poor" in Nigeria, and the development some are being egoistic about is not development when you compare it with what obtains in Industrial/advanced nations. We should stop deceiving ourselves about the physical infrastructures we see.

Just a statement for thought: How many times have we seen an Ibo begging for alms in our major cities? But go anywhere in Nigeria, you will surely see the Notherners in their thousands and the South Westerners in their hundreds. I stand to be corrected.
I think this thread has settled the constant call by the westerners for igbos to go back to their poverty stricken region . All statsitcis point to the fact that they South east is the richest region or region with least poverty level . I have said it severally that SE people migrate to other zones not because of poverty but becuase in other zones like the west and north, they are more likely to harness the opportunities faster and make money than in SE where there is more stiff competition in interms of business and other endeavours .

People should travel to other parts of Nigeria and see rather than base their arguement on what they were told or what they think .

Going by the history of Nigeria , SE and SS should be the poorest because of the impact of civil war ( 20 pounds to biafrans after the war ) and they are the most marginalised . But hard work and not focusing on the government are behind the success in SE.
