pazienza:

Everything good about Nigeria is Igbo. See Okocha, see Kanu, Okonjo iweala, Iheanachor,Ezekwesili, etc.

Bad eggs is what all Nigerians have in common, but outstanding individuals is what Ndiigbo have, that other Nigerians can only dream about.

Igbos must be very important hence all these . Anyway is a known fact the success attract envy n hatred

Politics / Re: Today In History: 9th Jan 1970 Col Ojukwu Escaped From Nigeria by iconaus: 8:50pm On Jan 10, 2014
kettykin: Ojukwu the rebel leader escaped alive from the siege of the nigerian army, why they could not capture him alive remains the biggest surprise a similar rebellion in Libya had gadfly begging for his life on his knees, some of the other players who tried to dream about rebellion in Nigeria were captured before they attempted to carry out their rebellion chief amongst them MKO Abiola who despite the backing of the world after winning the best organised election in Nigeria was captured alive while claiming his mandate and later murdered. Other people in this category who can only dream of rebellion like Awolowo, Diya, Obasanjo, olanrewaju, Adisa, were in their planning stages before the nigerian army finished their ambitious project.

Awolowo twice dreamt of rebellion and was caught in the planning stages and paid disgracefully for it.

noblezone: Only in Nigeria!

Only in "one" Nigeria will you see the so called media and the politicians pay more attention to the qualification of a minister than the killings of the innocent by invaders wielding AK47 in cold blood!

My heart is bleeding!

Nigeria is a fraud in deed.

a sensible comment
Politics / Re: President Jonathan Asked Sanusi To Resign But He Refused by iconaus: 10:37am On Jan 09, 2014
It is unfortunate that some people think that they own this country any we thank God for GEJ government which has exposed so many things that were silent before . The M belt has suffered under north and continues to suffer , the igbos too and even more , the Niger delta is beginning to see their true color because they are making the government ungovernable for and the yorubas too ( Abiola, fulani in kwara etc ) but only Yoruba are denial of the north atrocity to them . North get to be stopped otherwise the country called Nigeria will be no more .Whatever happens , Nigeria will not be the same after GEJ be it 2015 or 2019 . No more , the north will not continue to lord it over the entire Nigeria . Sanusi should resign because he is one of the axis of evil against GEJ regime .

It is not easy to govern given so many forces against the president . People continue to say that GEJ does not have balls but with out understanding that he has do what is doing otherwise is gona be hot for him as it is now . Massive defection to APC is a ploy by the north intimidate and get ride of GEJ despite federal appointment in favour of the North . nothing happens for nothing . People who are thinking that Nigeria will be the same again should think twice . If the north and the west succeed in getting rid of GEJ , they cannot enjoy Nigeria too . Law of Karma will come into play in any form .

EzeUche_: I like this thread already. Speak the truth my brother. We Igbos can be found all over Nigeria, and we speak the local languages and embrace the cultures of other, because we see people as human beings.

The South-West is by no means, the economic powerhouse of Nigeria. Nigeria relies on Eastern oil for its foreign earnings. The rest of the economy is in shatters. Why do you think people say Nigeria suffers from Dutch Diseas aka

Resource Curse.

love this .its true igbos see human beings as such .

we are not looking at the best African footballer - in that sense, among the last three it may not be any of them . we re looking for an African player who had contributed greatly last yr to up lift the image of African soccer both locally and internationally and I think Mikel cut that for me .
Politics / Re: Minister Of Aviation Declares War On Yoruba – by iconaus: 10:05am On Jan 08, 2014
This is not fair . Other regions esp Ibos never used pull him dowm syndrome on Yoruba top civil servant since after the war . Ibos were busy doing their business but this little opportunity the ibos have to be part of this country post war under GEJ is being sabotaged by the yorubas . Now I know why Sanusi said that Yorubas are the problem of Nigeria and now also I understand why Achebe made that comment about awo .

Pukkah:

In addition to that, ask them who brought the following erstwhile obscure people into prominence: Charles Soludo, Dora Akunyuli, Oby Ezekwesili, Okonjo-Iweala, Ernest Ndukwe, (Okereke-Onyiuke?). Even Festus Odimegwu as the MD of NBL Plc was a regular in Obasanjo's Aso Rock.

Some people have very short memories.

Nonsense - it was a ploy OBJ used to deceive people that he is non- tribal and besides OBj knows that igbos can deliver . This disguised the secret agreement between the west and north post war to keep igbos marginalized and out of main stream Nigeria politics . But any way this paid off by igbos resorting to self development and hard work to be where they are today which is also source of envy against igbos hence the destruction of their lives and property in the north and high tax imposition in the west ( Lagos)
Politics / Re: My Stand On Who APC Should Field For The Presidency/VP - Femi Fani-kayode by iconaus: 4:55am On Jan 07, 2014
boy t: I just love the way and the tricks Tinubu , Buhari and co are shaping the APC leadership.
The message is now clear to SE/SS political sycophants like NGIGE, ROCHAS , AMAECHI and other follow-follow and 'oh yes members'
that they are all ghost politicians inside APC
The message is now clear that its not all about legitimate opposition, rather rebels trying by all means to install a hausa/yoruba candidate.
APC is sending a message of regional politics that may help divide the nation.

If GEJ a ND is hated just because he is not from the North, then other regions will celebrate him.
APC clear message is : 3 regional political parties, 1(NORTHERN PARTY) 2(SW PARTY) 3(SE/SS PARTY)
The way it is now, no igbo will vote for hausa, nor hausa will vote for igbo, no yoruba or igbo will vote for each other,
then make everybody answer their papa name.
Unknown to the igbos for years, the hausas have been very good at the policies of 'let only my people go' While the igbo were still hoping for a credible candidate for one nigeria.

. The SE/SS will support GEJ at all cost.

well said - for a long time post war , igbos are getting right in politics and the APC move is what is going to divide nigeria for ever .

The danger is the result we have today

Politics / Re: 2015: Jonathan To Declare Re-Election Ambition Next Week by iconaus: 7:20am On Jan 04, 2014
Chylo: If Jonathan decides to contest, Nigeria may not survive 2015. Why? If he wins, the APC alliance will heat the polity to boiling point in the North/West block; and if he looses, the SS/SE block will cry blue murder. Whatever happens, Nigeria looses.

His most patriotic decision will be to step down in 2015, present a credible candidate for PDP and determine to ensure a free and fair election. If he does this, then his retardeeness may be forgiven and he will become an elder statesman too. Anything else, and he will be known forever as the man that destroyed Nigeria!

Instead he will be remembered as the man that brought the necessary change , inevitability and an end to the fraud called Nigeria. He should be given the opportunity to correct the lopsidedness in the Nigeria which some regions are not comfortable with since it flavors them .

Omo_Tier1:

I beg to disagree with you on this one. So long as Nigerians are hungry, coup will always succeed in Nigeria. Though I for one do not subscribe to it, however, the manner in which the current president has handled the affairs of the nation has no doubt sent the right signals to the exotic coup plotters to start thinking what next!

Nigerians love life too much so any bullet, followed by Ghana must go will silent their mouth forever cool.

I have said it here repeatedly, if GEJ continues with His die hard posture come Q1 2014, by Q2 2014, GEJ will be history as far as Aso rock is concerned and average Nigerians will not pity Him.

His greatest undoing was to polarize Nigeria along ethnic and religious line. Never has Nigeria been this polarized and I pray never again will it be.

u got it wrong . Nigeria has been like this only that some regions dont mind much who was the president - when the north and partly the west were in control the country was relatively at peace but now GEJ from south south is in control and is trying to re structure the country in a more equitable way there comes an opposition who believe that they own this country - they continue to align along ethnic line north -west axis then GEJ feels threatened . The north/west polarized the Nigeria more not GEJ

If you look at what is going on in the polity today, there is a kind of gang-up between the Muslim South- west and the North-west that is predominantly Muslims ahead of 2015. What is your concern? Do you think they are up to something? question from Vangaurd Journalist

Answer from CAN president

"To be honest with you, I’m very troubled. They don’t like people like us saying certain things. At the end of the day, they look at us and say ‘you are the one that is heating up the polity’, but it is strange because all we do is react to the reactions of other people. What you have just described is exactly what some of us are seeing that is very frightening. Are we aligning along religious line? Because if that is what is happening, it is very dangerous for Nigeria. Obviously, it is not all of the South-west, it is like the Muslim South-w est, the far North Muslims. It is very frightening, it shouldn’t be, and they shouldn’t pretend about this, they should come out and tell the truth because that’s what we see here. I don’t want to comment on political parties because I’m not a politician, I’m not going to that extent, but we should not do that. We should please allow Nigeria be and allow the people to decide what they want. It’s a very dangerous direction if we go that way. The body language we see is not good for this nation, and I think the media must help us to get the message across that this is very dangerous for the unity of this nation and I pray that it shouldn’t go that way so that we can come today and not try to divide this nation. I’m being very selective in my words. I wish Nigeria well. I believe that 2013 was a year of discovery, 2014 for me is a year of recovery. I see Nigeria being able to recover. We have an incredible opportunity to recover and I hope and pray and believe God for recovery"
