Ijscarface: Is PDP is thinking at all? they should rally round Gbajabiamila and vote him in as payback for the Mulikat Akande coup that Tinubu coordinated with Tambumal, this will surely pitch a lot of APC faithfuls against Tinubu. The PDP will gain from that in 4 yrs time A vote for Gbaja is a vote for Tinubu which will give him more power. The PDP members must vote against any candidate that is affiliated to the bullion van drug lord |

247naijamedia: House Leader and five time legislator, Femi Gbajabiamila, formally declares to vie for the Speakership seat of the House of Representatives.
He is supported at this official declaration by returning and new members numbering over 100.
His campaign is tagged ‘ Nation Building, A Joint Task’ and Gbajabiamila said he seeks the exalted office to mentor the next generation and unite the nation. The Lagos lawmaker who represents Surulere II federal constituency will be returning to the house for a fifth term.
Mr Gbajabiamila’s office announced Abdulmumin Jibrin, a Kano lawmaker, as the director general of the campaign.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership is expected to announce the zoning for the House of Representatives on Tuesday. The APC leadership recently declared support for Yobe senator, Ahmed Lawan, to become the next Senate President. The move was condemned by other APC lawmakers including Borno senator, Ali Ndume, who also seeks to be the Senate president.
Ndume who is also from Borno state has vowed to continue with his ambition, saying he enjoys the support of many elected APC senators.
The APC enjoys a clear majority in the incoming House of Representatives, winning over 200 of the 360 seats.
The party is expected to produce the speaker, but as it happened in 2015, a different candidate other than that endorsed by the party leadership may contest the election. While both Messrs Lawan and Gbajabiamila were endorsed by the party for the positions in 2015, but Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara emerged as the Senate President and Speaker of the House respectively.
The two winners later defected from the APC to the PDP.

HalepSimon: Fantasy. That the PDP were able to outsmart the APC in 2015, shouldn't give them the temerity to threaten APC this time around, because it will be brutal.
Just bookmark these lines:
1. A day before the inauguration, the police, the DSS and Special forces will sweep the National Assembly Complex.
2. Tinubu, Oshiomole, and Some Governors will accompany Buhari President Buhari to inaugurate the 9th Assembly.
3. After Buhari might have read his speech and left, his lieutenants and APC stalwarts will stay behind to watch the election.
4. The clerk of the Assembly, will call for Election- APC members will interject, insisting that there is no reason for election as they are presenting one Candidate. The Clerk will call for voice Vote. However the PDP will also reject this, insisting on having election.
5. The Clerk will call for OPEN BALLOT SYSTEM, as there were done before 2015. The members names will be read out, and you will indicate who are voting for in the presence of everybody.
Game Over. So you mean the executive will now tell the Senators what to do and all of them will obey like fools? You will end up not having any leader in the next senate, just watch |
