There is what is called upsell (oga ideapros come in here) , you are selling a domain name to someone that will likely host it later, yes many like godaddy, but what of joining hosting company like bluehost and the likes ( am not sure which one pays highest affiliate commissions now). After selling your name to known buyer, just thank him/her for his patronage and tell him that when he is ready to go live he should consider buying from soo sooo because they are one of the best....in industry... bla bla ...bla and cheaper and highly rated....u know na......sales man trick by pinching affiliate link to him.....with that you can get extra $$$ immeadiately and also get into yearly or monthly occurrence commission by telling them to try their monthly package which is small fee, which can buy you new domain easily with paypal.. Happy weekend..

Yes, it's possible to upsell and cross sell with your idea. Bluehost and HostGator offer $65 affiliate commission per sale on one-off basis. It's a great idea. You can write a small free ebook to walk him/her through the steps to create a blog or build a website with WordPress blog so that he doesn't see you as selling to him. And then monetize your ebook.

There are many angles to doing this and making money online. It's interesting being a doing internet marketer through and through.

How did I know this?

DAN sent a payment to my GTB NAIRA account but got to know that the fund was redirected to my USD account. This took me more than 15 days to discover.

The reason for this weird occurrence? I simply don't know.

Kindly follow up with Afternic and if possible, get the TELEX COPY of the transaction, because GTB customer service will surely request for same upon enquiry.

Yes, you're very right on this. During this coronavirus crisis, I requested money from one of my affiliate marketing programs. I changed the domiciliary account number to savings account number in GTBank. It landed still in my domiciliary account and the bank was not opened then to do any business transaction.

Luckily, my wife does not operate dom account. She routes her money to GTB savings. We quickly went ahead to withdraw her affiliate commissions. When we got the alert, we used POS to withdraw. That was what saved the day for me.

Yes, but domain with website or blog making at least $100 per month consistently can be predicted. Edwin John, the author of "How I Sell My Domain Names" which I bought over a decade ago explained it perfectly well.

Yes, you're right. Following trends is money spinner. But you must strike while the iron is hot. I have seen domain names bought at $4,000 later sold for less by the incumbent owners because nobody is even pricing it. While building your domain portfolio, you must learn to mix and match with what I call "evergreen keywords" domain names.

Someone who owns JobsOnline.com or OnlineJobs.com will never bother about anything trends.

Please avoid buying 3 or more keyword in a domain name if it is not EMD (exact match domain), CPC is high i.e. $1 and above and average search volume is at least 100 ( some veteran domain investors look at 1000 and above).

The only exceptions are:

1. Word order coveys strong business meaning e.g. ServiceFunnel.com, ServiceChannel.com, etc.

2. It's a new keyword trend invented by geographic usage and gaining global acceptance e.g. ScamDemic.com ( from SCAM + panDEMIC )

3. Word foresight. A trend or event that is yet to happen e.g. a domainer registered WorldCup2026.com in 2004 when I was just wrapping my head around online business materials, ebooks and books from SuccessDigest stable then.

4. It goes on and on.

This is why I don't go on domain registration spree except I want to use it to start a blog and make money from blogging. Always save money for the big break. I think this is why someone was trying to tease you to use the cash to buy ice cream. It's an eye opener.

You'll succeed more than your wildest imagination if you continue to learn. Online business is too vast for anyone to be in a hurry!

Number of drops is not really relevant. Price, targeted outbound marketing done, need for the domain by end user and GRACE are what sell a domain.

There are a lot of newbies and beginners who are hoping to sell a domain name. First of all, research, read and study domaining as if you’re preparing for a professional exam. If possible, take down notes which you can refer to later.

Secondly, sign up with well-known but free domain name forums and blogs like Namepros.com, DNGeek.com, Nairaland.com/3430037/what-make-money-online, etc. Become voracious and omnivorous in reading domain business information.

Thirdly, look out for trends especially tech, startups, artificial intelligence, analytics, etc. You can set up Google Alerts for daily dose of information on this. It helps to catch up especially in the area of coming up with brandable domain names as an early bird.

Lastly and the big one, create an excel spreadsheet of: S/N, Domain sold by others, Keyword in domain, Price sold, etc and use it to evaluate the type of domain name to register and sell. as if you are reading my mind presently! I just picked a domain hoping to sell to a very big China company that are using the singular for $$$$. The singular was just created 7yr ago while the plural has been for 18yr with only one drop. I listed the domain only to discovered it's was listed since 2017 for $280 on Dan. I was disappointed for not knowing that before, I only check afternic for it's listing possibility and it's wasn't, but fail to check on Dan. Anyway anything can happen, have contacted the company and the name got 9 visit already!

In domaining, surprises can happen. If before the renewal is due, an event that will trigger your domain keyword happens, you may sell it. That is how "corona" keyword became the hot cake by late last year till now.
