I got to know about this Domain flipping mid last year but had little to no interest then. late December/Early January I officially joined the train. A good Samaritan offered to teach me at almost no cost. I bought a couple of Domain and outbounded but no response. Did some follow-ups no response (local man was tired ).
I got used to the system over time.
Fast forward to ytd, I decided to send a fresh/edited/new mails for some of my Domain.
Later that evening got an email from Dan that my domain have been bought( guyman was filled with laughter ).
I logged in and did the needful.

For example, if you own CoronaVirusTreatment-com, the tags are corona, coronavirus, treatment, coronavirus treatment.

I have this domain name that I registered recently. Looking at my niche properly, I am wondering whether building a website on it without traffic would make better choice.

Here is another thing, the niche is HOT for the selected keyword that DEFINES them. My google search, by the time I was done counting on page 13 of the google result, I had 69 real and solid end users offering the service with majority of them. This is the highest number I have ever seen for a GEO domain name.

So, what brought me here is, I am wondering whether to sell it as a website within a few days or I should sell it as domain name. I have it priced at $2500 already on afternic. Though not a guarantee it would sell for that price but looking at the end users and number of them offering this service the chances are high.

If a website would suffice, then we may be looking $5000. It is all theory as nobody can say for sure.

What is your thought?

Create a blog on the domain, turn it to a website in case you won't have time to be updating the blog with content. Create a blog page that says "This website and domain name are for sale." On that page, you can say, "This website, domain and its content are for sale at Afternic. Click here to reach out to Afternic team."

That alone gives any potential buyer assurance that he is dealing with credible company.

Anyone that visits your website, both potential buyers and website visitors will see that the website is for sale.

You can monetize your website and by the end of the year, you will definitely recoup the domain renewal and hosting fees even if it doesn't sell yet. So, you're not under pressure to sell while the old wine matures and ferment for higher sale.

Something weird happened recently.

I have been using namedroppers.com for some years now but I recently started testing a new strategy.

I looked up a domain name and found it dropped last year, which means someone dropped since November last year and no one picked up.

I had to use namedroppers.com and whois to check some background sight.

I didn't register the domain immediately but saved among list of domains I had been compiling.

Yesterday, it crossed my mind and I ran a check and found out its gone.

This is not a recent drop which means people had moved passed and were never gonna check that time line again.

November to March is like 3 months plus. How did that guy pick it up? Is this a coincidence?

But all in all, I suspect fowl play and I must warn you to be careful when using namedroppers.com

We are working in a global market with billions of people. There is every coincidence that someone else would have picked up your idea at some point in time. I was to register a domain name in April 2018 and tarried because I was very busy doing other things. In July 2018, somebody picked it up and developed a website for it immediately. I marveled at what he did because it was the same online business idea I had in mind.

I was even mad with myself because if I had reserved the name for future use, most likely that guy would have picked it up for at least $500 because the niche market is very expensive with minimum CPC of $13.23

So, it can work both ways i.e. steal your idea or just pure coincidence. This is why most tech guys develop their custom research software if it is the former.

Whether you can use other platforms or not, stop that unwholesome practice of clicking your domain adverts to earn dollars. Besides, merger and acquisition is taking place on the web space now, you may see yourself out of every platform if you are not careful.

What you should know is that such domain names definitely conveyed good meaning or projects an offline or online business idea. All things being equal, domain names are bought and sold when the buyer and seller's idea intersects.

I registered it as a geo domain since 30/11/2019 I.e before the advent of corona disease.


I priced it at $250 then, and I forgot to edit the price since the word "corona" is now something different

Just take it in good faith and move on with your domain name business. You now have at least $174 after fees payment to reinvest into buying more domain names for sale. Always remember the more, the merrier with strategic domain name investing.

I can't use my gtb master card to buy domain from international platform but I use it on our local site. I went to the bank to complain ,they said it supposed to work that since its a master card that it's automatically activated. any idea pls

It will be hard to find a solution if the bank says there is no problem with the card. But you can do the following to resolve it:

1. Sign up with PayPal.com and link the card to it. If you are able to verify your MasterCard through PayPal, you are good to go. You can now use PayPal to make online purchases which is even safer and better.

2. Confirm that your BVN information is up to date and in sync with your account opening data. Using MasterCard for international transaction without success means you either have incomplete or there is discrepancies of information in your bank file.
