lalaboi: Since when?HOME > NEWS NYSC Reverses Self on Posting Policy of Corps Members Chairman, Board of NYSC, Chief Gordon Bozimo By Damilola Oyedele In order to ensure that corps members obtain work experience relevant to their academic qualifications, the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) would from the next batch of positing rescind its decision to send corps members to serve in schools only. Graduates of medicine would therefore be posted to hospitals and health centers, law graduates would be posted to Ministries of Justice, law chambers and Legal-based NGOs, just like others would be posted to organisations where their academic qualifications would be deployed to use. Graduates of Education and single honours would be deployed to schools under the new policy. The policy was adopted last year after the realisation that most organisations, especially in the private sector, take advantage of the scheme to keep their wage bill low as they do not make any effort to retain any corps members who served with them; rather they would throw them into the labour market and demand for fresh corps members . The Chairman of the Board of the NYSC, Chief Gordon Bozimo, made this disclosure in an exclusive interview with THISDAY where he noted that the NYSC would not allow private sector organisations to take advantage of its CMs anymore. This, he added, would be done through the demand and signing of an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with any private sector organisation that demands for corps members to retain a certain percentage of the corps members at the end of the service year. “If an organisation writes us to send corps members to them, it means they have need for manpower; these are graduates, they are educated, they are not clerks, so if we are send 50 corps members , the organisation would sign an MoU to retain at least, let’s say 30 percent. That will also make the corps members know they have something at stake, they have to show good example and work hard,” he said. This arrangement, he clarified does not, however, mean that such CMs at the end of their service year would not undergo the aptitude tests of the organisations if they have those as requirement for full employment. Bozimo added that it is counter- productive to send a doctor to teach in a school as a year of teaching cannot be considered as relatable work experience for such doctor. “In some schools, you get more corps members than full time teachers, so we are hoping that by the next batch, we would send corps members to where their expertise would be appropriate," he added. The Board Chairman disclosed that the NYSC is working with state governments to improve the living conditions in the camps that need improvements especially in terms of security, power and water supply to the camps. |

peleson: Nice one, I wonder how it will be in 100 years timepls this pics still seems old, there are no bikes in the state capital, and am not seeing the plaza beside it, this pics looks like Ibom connection at 1998, give us Ibom connection at 2013 |
trolling: she is batch c,she left last november,i'm still wondering why she is still serving, from your post, I can't tell is she's truly serving, because they passed out. if she's truly serving then maybe she had an extension, or did she work in a company, then she would be thru by November or December. if not she's hanging around for greener pasture such as jobs, husband etc. |
hello pals |
PapiDShipCapt: I can't even tink of giving ma ATM along with pin to any oda person its risky... Only ma kid lil bro has mine.... On a second tot, dose dat r bothered abt dis ish should simply go to his/her respective bank n sign up for internet banking. That way u can cajole any one within camp premises (possibly platoon commandant, fellowship excos comming from outside, other nysc or friendly soldiers u have connected with and or dose mammi traders u have had familiarity code with) to be recipient of your funds transfer. U can sweet talk dem like (abeg give me ur acc details dem wan use am send me small tin from house, j go buy u card abeg) if u can't access dis option den i will advice u to take a bundle or 2 into camp. After camp go n deposit d remains back into ur acc, dats if u r lucky enof 2 have remains..stop the feaR, I withdrew twice while on camp, thru our platoon leader. my account is still intact no hacking my dear. |
Adary: Ututu oma umu nwa C13, pls I wnt to find out if there are ATM machines in camps?no ATM, but you can withdraw by signing exact card from the camp director to go out, or thru your platoon commandant. in my platoon, the commandant can collect the atm cards and go out for withdrawals or help one platoon member get exact card from the camp director, if the camp director refused to sign, He will smuggle the guy out thru bush path, when you get to camp your platoon can plan how it will be done. |
stanzo3: Same tin happened to me last month n till now I ve not recovered. She always told me den dat wen she gets admission dat she won't leave me for anoda guy bt jst last month she n her family relocated to anoda area and she is now dating her music instructor in her church in d nee area she relocated to...if its true that girl prefer rough and bad guys then wahala de o o o o |
Helenqollinz: I stand on my ground, its not true.peer pressure is worst for ladies, when they sit to gossip what their guys are doing, buying, the left out ones go back to confront their guys, if you don't meet up, their friends link them up with other guys, I guess you are not aware of this too |
pablo aimar: Nah, dat won't work, I've tried it with a chic and it all backfired, 4 years of my life with her was full of lies and deceit, if a gurl wants to do something wild I don't think nobody can stop her, and most importantly, do know that most gurls listen to their friends more than their man?when I saw the post I just refused to comment, I would prove most her points wrong, thank you for sharing your 4years experience that yielded no fruit. but believe me it works for ladies that are like 3years younger than the man and you must catch her before she completes her first year in tertiary level, else peer pressure will render your efforts to nothing. |
creamie: Lool @ bank theft charges.we have reported to state coordinator, he said 200# was too much but NYSC state account is also a victim, they deducted 400k from their account, he has reported to Abuja Sha, but the recent one is not funny they took 600# each from this batch C that just passed out 400# from their Alawi and 200# from the bicycle allowance. this is money that came it at once, my friends PPA pays money to the account they also charge 200#. its theft. how can they be charging on every deposit, meanwhile, Creamie how you doing? and Oyo state am missing ya!! |
