mega_utche: good evening all, i have read all comments on this post and i am really happy that we have ppl that are out there willing to educate ppl without asking for money or gift in return. we are indeed going places. i read geology from futo and i spent several yrs in banking in nija with very little to show for it. i realized 3 yrs ago that i dont have any skill at all and indeed very open to attacks in form of frequent sacking in the banking industry. i went for my msc in envir geology but is yet to conclude. i just resigned my appointment 2 months ago to acquire skills in oil and gas. i need expert advice on the certificate courses to do. i need info asapwow another FuToite welcome, but was it not possible to hang around the banking sector till you get a job before you resign. I finished from FuTo, Geophysics |
stunningjudy: nice thread. I'm Judith. I rep SPE, FUTO.welcome FuToite |
9icegee: SCAM!!! People pls dont be taken in!! U cant get drilling certifications for 30K pls!!there are better ways to air your views, than raising unnecessary alarms, and watch your words |

A Tribute to my bestie Once in my life I had a friend I could totally trust with my life, she ended up being my all time best friend beating my previous best friends Archibong Ekpe-Idang of presbyterian international school, Nsikak ikopbo of Nigerian Christian Institute. Her name is Helen Ifeyinwa chukwukelu. But today her name changes to my Helen Ifeyinwa S. Because she just tied the knots with her hobby. As you cross my mind for some days now, all that flashed back was how good you were to me. You are my friend, sister, colleague, comforter, and some times my boss (since you scold me, Hahahahaha). So much to say about you, your love, care, understanding, tolerance, motivation, inspiration, wise thoughts, honesty, yes you were so sincere, you never lie to me, we had a way of communicating that was grounded in truth, and that's my greatest turn on. It helped us get closer, shared our hidden thoughts, ideas and secrets. We worked together, achieved a lot with Gods grace, its was wow knowing you, fun all the way. Yes! We had arguments, misunderstandings but we always had a way of pulling strings thru. One more thing I would never forget about you is that in 2010 you became that first lady (except my mum and eldest sister)to call me on phone and we talked up to more than 5 mins, I marvelled. Even after that we have always talked on phone above 5mins. In 2012 you called my Glo line exceeding 5mins(only my mum and eldest sister calls my Glo line before then), I was scared so I hurried the call so as not to finish your Voucher. you are indeed different, and that made you stand out. From my estimate if 100 guys met you, 90 thought of you as a would-be wife, the remaining indifferent, not surprised you are getting married this early in life. Have always told you I wanted to meet your mum, to learn how she trained you. Congrats to your hobby, he made the right choice, for he that findeth a wife has found a good thing and obtains favour from God. Wishing you a happy and fruitful married life, you are blessed and favoured, a light to your generation, a pace setter among your equal, keep the flag flying. Finally with your words "there is a place for everyone", always remember your place in my heart is intact, I LOVe you for life, am sorry couldn't attend your wedding hoping your will understand and forgive me and permit me to wear the clothes I told you since July, I sew for your traditional wedding, I have not worn it yet. Cheers my bestie !! - ID—with |

my apologies for not advising you guys to go with sweater, some of you bought rubber shoes, no need Sha its useful for batch B, since it would be rainy, just get the mammy people to help you buy sweater. esp those in plateau, ekiti, Kwara, Enugu etc. pls next week will be colder till you leave camp. thanks #Winnhe, how's the camp experience, hope the soldiers are not too harsh, as kitchen director, you will organise your platoon members to help in kitchen when its the turn of your platoon to do so. you will also be in charge during inter- platoon cooking competition. tk |
ade014ril: Is there a time limit to bearing the name 'otondo' ?yea, batch 13C will be called otondos till 14A have been sworn in that's would be around March next year. |
imag5: lol oil and gas courses are expensive, when you will be earning blood money you forget the money you use in training...still remember last year when my friend got a job in shell, graduate trainee Geophysicist, the first money that entered his account he posted on Facebook "blood money", many people didn't understand what he meant but I did. |
Maths125: Am a fresher of this 2013/14 season. I wish I have first class but people say it not easyHahahahaha, that's what people say, what do you say to yourself "yes I can make it" like peak milk will say "its in you" for me even though I have good results, still felt I would have done better, my advise for you now is focus from day 1, every second counts. pls which school? |
opeyemmmy: Tell him!yea, am aware!! but its a plus to me, because am no more called otondo |
MissIndependent: Mods why is this thread still titled prospective corpers?just be patient till after your swearing in, that's when you are a corper |
2s£xy:love this mindset |
MissIndependent: so far they havnt asked for any photocopies yet oo just some online data registration and screening they may ask later sha but i dunno yet. As for passport, they asked for 2 for NYSC I.D card and meal ticket.you will be given some files to fill later, that may take like 10passports |

mercyspeaks1:am using Samsung galaxy, yet to download Bbm, so what'sapp on point |
2s£xy:Nawao, for me HSE 2 and 3 is ok, I don't really want to practice full time, I love my Geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir engineering. and remote sensing/GIS. my first seminar was on remote sensing, I loved it, my hod wants to help publish it, the imagery and pixels were already processed by nasdra, abuja. my friend just got his first job with CB geophysical solutions PH, its a new firm, the owners worked with schlumberger Nigeria, UK and US for up to 20years, they can back home to start the firm. Congratr to him o o o. |
Cutejay: I have been getting very negative reports about Kwara State. Like, no water, you'll get scars from sun burns, you will over work yourself and no pay, tribal wars etc. I think i'll have to redeploy after camp.Hahahahaha, I hope the people that told you that have redeployed too, or are dead. don't believe everything you hear, am serving in one of the most talked about places Patigi LG , before I came, when I arrive. I met 200corpers batch 12c and 13a waiting to receive us. after the reception by LGI and his briefing, we were fed and well taken care of, the corpers staying in each village will be around to pick you home. in my villa our welcome party and orientation was organised that evening, they provided dinner, we also slept in corpers lodge that nite. they also provided break fast the following morning, since then, I discovered not all stories are true, all PPA here provide accommodation, the private schools pay, food stuffs is cheap, my school hold lessons after school end. I teach get extra pay, I also have 2girls I tutor, another pay, the state education board pays corpers 5k for now only those in areas bit remote from LG capital, the LG also pays 2k also to those in remote part of LG, so at the end of the month, one can raise extra 10-15k depending, currently my village owns a guest house, each room is self-contain. am staying there for free. so just decide wisely. |
thuao: Pls any doctor in the house or anyone who knows abt what state pays, and wia its advisable to do PPAwhat state pays differs, my LG pays 40k, I don't know how much my state pays. but the minimum is 60-120k |
imag5: Thank you lord for the grace you havegiven us to see a new month full with hope and joy....happy new month my geoscientist and petroleum engineering guys Gods grace will continue to shine on us and also to the moderator we love you........,,Happy new month, next agenda Nape conference loading...those that need sponsor u get your reply did weekamen, thanks bro, am in, here is my id - St08/5314 |
Parkac: Don't be carried away by the prospect of ppa payment. You might end up working like slave in the name of getting paid. Like teaching 4 to 5 subjectspls you are the one that accepted it, don't teach more than a subject, even in my PPA, we take just one class, any move they make we reject it or report to your LGI, they will be cautioned. |

mercyspeaks1: Thanks, pls kindly tell me the villages(ppa)/private sectors in kwara that are likely to pay corpers, since state no dey pay.I think all private schools in rural areas pay, in Ilorin not all pay, |
MissIndependent: Finally collected my Call-Up letter and to whom documents after the stress.Congratrs |
pascal2young: please send me ur email address so i cn forward it to uhopeman4all@yahoo.com thanks |
Cutejay: Please i want to know how the camp is and the state in general-the food, water, accomodation, etc. Does the state pay? If they do, how much is it?if the last camp director is still in charge, then I assure the meal served during batch B was balanced, our new state cord is a good man, I believe he will work on water, accommodation ok but inadequate bathroom. for now no state alawi, except some good PPA and some LGA may pay alawi. |
