Omenka gets my goat because I used to have some respect for him...now all I have is disgust!! Two-faced bigot!!

He never notices bigotry until it's from the SE or SS!

Whynotthetruth:

Thanks boss...I don't do tribal fights... I rather comment on issues and topics as I deem fit...Folks can. read whatever negative meaning into it because they are afraid of their shadow...Omenka & co can insult as much as they wish but they should stop running from their shadow or projecting their image on others... Thanks again boss...

If you weren't a bigot, you'd have known I'm not from the SE! I am a hater of horse shit!

That's what you are dishing out!

modath:

I saw what that wandering bigot posted about being from SE from whence there is no rallying point & I lost it... Thanks for the support...

Mo is one of the least tribalistic fonts on this whole forum put together but there are always extreme circumstances where people make some comments that need rejoinders..

My comment is in red cos it was a modification after your tribal warlord bros did his usual...

I make no apologies for taking that stand,I have friends from the east of the niger, I know what I am talking about.. Thank you.

You're the scum of the earth! Don't flatter yourself by thinking anyone is stalking you! You're one hypocrite that disgusts me! So, whatever oponu means, I wish you a million fold!

omenka:
Oponu, stop stalking me. He wrote that as an afterthought after reading the useless comments of bigots like the Oponu I quoted.

Why didn't you bigots caution modath for his pro-yoruba comment which came before that of whynotthetruth? Your hypocrisy beats imagination! I don't sanction tribalism, but what is sauce for the goose must be sauce for the gander! You must come to equity with clean hands!!!

omenka:
Someway somehow, this bigot had to find a way to twist this into a SW and SE thing. You guys are so disgusting.

Useless talks like this is the reason I pray fervently that you people get your Biafra so we can sit by the sidelines and admire what a great country without blemish she would be transformed into in days.
Nairaland / General / Re: Rule 22 Against Asking For Money On Nairaland by ideykwum: 6:28pm On Sep 20, 2015
There will always be fraudsters...but it would seem a bit odd that while the world is talking of crowd funding, Nairaland (one of our leading Internet icons) is talking of muting such a possibility. I understand your concerns, and they are weighty, however, it would amount to biting of our nose to spite our face if such is banned! Let everyone be enlightened and vigilant, but let freedom to choose be extolled! More grease to your elbows!!

quote author=Seun post=38206875]I hereby propose to create a new rule that forbids anyone from asking for money for money - especially investments and donations - on Nairaland later today. The enforcement of this rule will completely block the activities of many scammers. Any objections?[/quote]

I also agree we should soft pedal with the account thing at the moment. Like you said, once we get the system and structures right, opening an account will just naturally come and easily.

In my opinion, let's go easy on the account part and rather focus on the systems and structures required. Once we finish that, we can put together a simple business plan, and based on what the business plan says we require, we will actualize a funding plan and open an account to receive the funds!

I also opine that we should use project management methodologies to run the system, or at worst, create a milestone table with an accompanying gnatt chart! Let's make use of the professionals in our midst, they are our organisational process assets in human form! Lol!

Cc: ideykwum and dfrost, you're all needed here. Let's handle these great issues.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: My Experience Recruiting From Nairaland. Shocking. by ideykwum: 4:28pm On Sep 17, 2015
Welcome to the truth, my bro! I was discussing with Dearpreye and dfrost about this issue recently! It's beyond belief!!

databoy247:
Recently, i decided to conduct an interview and select some candidates who might be working with my organization. Currently we are trying to expand our operations and see how we can get new leads and probably close more deals. And from my survey, there are hundreds and possibly thousands of unemployed graduates here in Nairaland so i decided to concentrate on recruiting from here.

Now because of the nature of the job and also with a view in cutting cost around physical recruitment exercise, I decided to conduct the whole process online.

567 applications where received. I had to employ the services an outside consultant to help with the process which i also fully participated. Below are my shocking experiences with job seekers in this forum. I pray they read this and improve on themselves.

1. CV and cover letter.
I remember explicitly asking for their CV and cover letter to be forwarded to a particular email address. A huge percentage of the applicants just sent an empty email with their CV as an attachment. Not even an application letter. In case you dont know, a very quick assessment can be done on you by just reading your application or cover letter. You don't just attach your CV and forward to an email address without a cover letter. It means you are not serious and you may NEVER get called for an interview.

2. Many do not even know what they are applying for.
For an example you are asked to apply for an administrative position. The subject of your email should not be "My CV". This is so annoying and disgusting. Those that manage to write a cover letter do not even make reference to the job position they are applying for.

3. Lack of communication skills.
Now it is not enough to have a degree, you must learn to communicate. I sent out a pre-interview questionnaire to selected candidates and i just couldn't believe what i saw. So many job seekers do not know how to communicate and speak simple and clear English language. If you want to stand a better chance in job haunting, learn how to communicate.

4. Words abbreviations
This is a very big problem. Social medial is good but i think it's now becoming a major problem. With the use of BBM, whatsapp, Facebook chat, etc, Nigerians are now addicted to abbreviating words. You see things like 'u', 'k', 'comin', etc. And in case you dont know it, this can cause a very big problem for you. A lot of candidates get disqualified because of this. Learn to write properly when communicating with someone. Stop being in a hurry to pass along your message.

5. Checking of emails.
As a job seeker, you should always check your emails. Recruiters dont just send text messages, they also send emails. I did not screen alot of people because they did not check their emails to see if any information has been passed to them. You must always be on the look out. Dont submit your applications and go relaxing.

These are some of the experiences i had recruiting here. Out of 567 applications, i could not pick up to 20 candidates as a result of all these. Sometimes, i begin to wonder if the problem is lack of jobs or laxity on the part of the applicants because i am so shocked and surprised that our graduates are this way.

The worst part is the fact that the guy is a professor of law!!! How bad can it get?

dearpreye:

Good morning sir. Thanks for the nice contribution.

With all respect to PMB, considering his academic background, will not have much to say on education. But let's see how his choice of education minister plays out.

Sir, it's time for some real changes to the education sector and system. The current one has to go.

Very practical advice!

bukatyne:

From experience? cheesy smiley

@neo25

1. Everyday is NOT realistic. Find out your wife's frequency (amount of times she's naturally wants sex)

2. Check out if she is overstressed during the day

3. Buy a lubricant and compromise... know you cannot get it everyday and not every time you have sex will be bang! Sometimes will be because you want it: some times will be because she wants it. Sometimes is because you both want it and yep it's fire on the rocks grin

Now to the lube... when you want it and she's not in the mode and tired (no amount of pre-intimacy will make her interested...) use the lube generously and lie beside her (not ontop ) and penetrate. She might join in after a while and if she can't, you satisfy your need without her doing much work.

Goodluck.
Family / Re: My Wife Starves Me Of Sex by ideykwum: 5:55am On Sep 17, 2015
Your advice is very profound! Especially the part about allowing her to sleep a bit! I've found that a little rest can re-invigorate our desires!

babythug:

Here are a few tips that might help you:

1. Try some romance during the day.Send her nice texts. Call her to check on her etc etc
2. Depending on what your work schedule and hers is like, try and ease up some of the chores/ activities she has to attend to in the evenings. Help the children with homework if possible. see how you can help to make dinner preparation easier, this includes plucking ewedu if necessary cheesy.
3. The s.ex doesn't have to be immediately you both get into the room. Give her an hour or more to sleep, then you can warm your way in... you can also try early hours of the morning. She may be better rested and more receptive.
4. Buy her nice gifts to show how valuable she is to you. Doesnt have to be expensive. Even recharge card will do wink
5.Good luck!

We should get out of the Kitchen to appreciate air without strong aromas! A trip outside the country will show that Nigeria has gotten the education gambit wrong! It may take generations to correct this anomaly! Buhari hasn't sent a strong signal on education...I'm hoping his choice of minister will!!

A certificate means nothing except a proof of having attempted to acquire knowledge. Like they say, there is a difference between knowledge and learning! Knowledge is storage of data or information for awareness, but until that knowledge leads to a change in behaviour, we can't say we have learnt!!

How have certificates been able to make us learn in this country? A professor of law was recently accused of raping a 20 year old student! Didn't he learn anything from the books of law?? I know he acquired knowledge, but did he learn?? Dearpreye, help me!!

You know, you hit the nail on the head! Sometimes, it's good to cut the red tape and just say it as it is!

Squig, read queenfav's advice carefully and examine yourself!

queenfav:
Its very simple..You are not ready for marriage yet.Being with a guy for 100 years doesn't make you emotionally mature enough to handle the commitment of marriage. This is why I tell my friends I am not ready for marriage now.In your mid 20's you are still stuck up on the mills and boons inspired romantic fantasies of a 'perfect' man somewhere. My advice, call off the wedding.Anyways,I blame bellanaija weddings for making it look like getting married is all about the proposal drama, cute engagement ring and lavish wedding ceremony. Its not my dear..I am single but I can tell you authoritatively that marriage isn't as easy as its cracked up to be.It takes work,a total decision to stick with your partner and guidance from God.just face it,have you asked yourself why you even accepted his proposal? Is it because you have dated for 5 years and its only natural to get married?Or maybe because he is ripe for marriage ie has a job,his own apartment and the whole nine.Personally I don't think you even know the meaning of commitment. Its sticking to a person, through great and not so great times..Be honest, you stopped loving your fiance a very long time ago.If not, chance no go dey to even meet the new guy.I am in a relationship, and I keep just platonic male frnds that I discuss my career with.No time to waste in smiling over a guy saying 'good morning beautiful' and other sweet rubbish to me.Not when I have a committed relationship relationship. You created the allowance in your heart to fall for the new guy.Biko,I repeat you are not ready for marriage.I see you to be a lady who wants fun, experience and the thrill of being with other guys. Please do that if it would hit you with a healthy dose of reality. All this advice will not sink in cos deep down you want to be with the new guy.Even your fiance is tired too..a man that can go a week ..then 3 months without calling you simply doesn't love you!!!That's a fact.Just do what would make you happy. That's what counts.Sometimes you'll win, sometimes you'll lose. But more importantly you'll learn!

I'd suggest BBM because Whatsapp has a limitation of a 100 additions. We'd need a yahoo group too (nothing wrong with a third group for lengthy mails, or forwarding opportunities!).

For a name, I'd draw inspiration from dearpreye and call it "The Entrepreneurial Ants"! cheesy wink Remember, every ant has an Elephant in it (its not only Peak that goes in!).

dfrost:

Hi alijusty,

Hope you have 10 naira to spare each month? *chuckles* grin I sent you a pm.

PS: dearpreye, VickyRotex, mentorandfriend, AgapeCharis, khaynoni, ideykwum, alijusty - can someone suggest a name and dearpreye can create a thread so that the mods can move it to front page so that others can become aware of it.

Counting on all well-meaning Nigerians support. Also which is better for most of us: WhatsApp or BBM? so we don't need to create three channels. NL is one channel so we need another channel for on-the-road contributors.

Corp members in the house, identify yourself. dearpreye come and blow the trumpet to the NL forumites.
