A trained medical doctor has returned to school, studied and qualified as a lawyer. The academic enthusiast identified on Twitter as Odasanii said it took him over 12 years of intense studies to achieve the feat.

In a tweet he posted on Saturday, November 11, Odasanii said his achievements can be described as a favour from God. The tweet contained photos of him in his medical and legal garbs. He has inspired a lot of comments on social media as many wonder how he achieved the feat.

Odasanii is also studying to be an accountant Interestingly, Odasanii said he is not done yet as he is also aspiring to be an accountant, according to his Twitter bio. A tweep questioned him about this, asking how it is that he still aspires for more after acquiring two serious degrees. Odasanii responded in the comments

"Whenever I aspire, it means I’ve already started. I was doing it with the law so I need to complete that too soonest." The response means he will soon complete his studies in accounting. Odasanii is a Ghanaian.

A magistrate court in Kano on Monday ordered the flogging of two Kannywood TikTok skit makers, Mubarak Muhammad (Uniquepikin) and Nazifi Muhammad.

They are being remanded in prison custody for weeks for allegedly defaming the character of the governor of Kano, Abdullahi Ganduje, in one of their comedy skits.

The ruling delivered by the magistrate, Aminu Gambari, on Monday, ordered that the two boys be flogged with 20 lashes of the cane each, among other conditions.

The judgement also ordered that the skit makers sweep the magistrate complex for one month and pay N20,000 naira each for “public disturbance.”

The court also ordered them to return to their Tik Tok handles and other social media platforms and make another video apologising to the governor in the same manner as the video they earlier published.

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State on Tuesday described former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi as one of the finest presidential candidates for the 2023 general elections.

Ortom stated this when Obi paid him a visit in Makurdi, the state capital, to express support to flood victims in the North-Central state.

The governor said Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour party (LP), has the capacity to liberate Nigeria from economic and security challenges.

“If Nigeria needs to make a choice, you are one of the finest candidates that we have in this country. In terms of education, in terms of character, in terms of performance, in terms of reaching out, in terms of being a pan-Nigerian, in terms of industrialisation, passion to ensure that our country is liberated from where we are; out of insecurity to security, and out of economic woes to economic vibrancy and out of lack to adequate social life, you have the capacity to make things work,” Ortom stated.

Ortom, a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, said party or ethnicity should not be considerations in the February presidential election but the capacity of a candidate to deliver Nigeria from “the mess”.

“And Peter Obi from your antecedents, you have the capacity. If I were God, I would have said everything but I am not God,” the governor said.

Ortom said once God decides on who to be Nigeria’s next President, nobody or structure can stop such person.

Specifically, Ortom advised all the frontline presidential candidates to come together and agree on a candidate.

The Catholic Archbishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah has urged Christians to make wise decisions in electing a new crop of political leaders in 2023.

Kukah made the comment in Yola at the 2022 Church Leaders Summit.

He also asked the Christian community not to worry about the choices made by political parties in fielding their presidential candidates as power rests with the electorates.

“We have to all make the right calculations and not be swayed by emotions,” he said.

“Because after all we’ve been through in Nigeria, we must avoid a mentality of ‘us versus them’.

“Nobody is going to force you as a Christian to vote one way or the other.

“And as I said, I’m moving away from this binary view of Christians and Muslims. That’s not who we are as Nigerians. That’s not what happens in the marketplace or across the country. There are no Christian roads, no Christian thieves or Muslim saints.

“For me, I don’t see how any Christian – I’m sorry to say – should be worried about the choice that a political party has made. Whatever decision any politician makes, they will live with the consequences.”

He did not advice only christians, rather he advised Nigerians to be wise in their voting decisions and not be emotional.

Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Saturday promised to solve Nigeria’s flood challenge and ensure the country attains sufficiency in food production if elected in 2023.

He spoke on Saturday at a rally in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital at the commencement of his campaigns ahead of next February election.

The former Anambra State governor said his government will move Nigeria from consumption to production and job creation.

He promised to fix Nigeria’s power conundrum, amongst others, and wondered why the Super Eagles couldn’t qualify for Qatar 2022 World Cup starting next month.

After he observed a one-minute silence in honour of all flood victims across the country, Obi said, “I assure you if we come into power, we will solve this flooding problem.”

“We are not going to do it overnight but we will start solving it. It will not take 30 years. The Federal Government said it will take 30 years, it will not take 30 years for us to solve it.

“Let me assure you, the government Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed will change Nigeria for good,” he said.

According to the National Emergency Management Agency, the 2022 floods devastatingly claimed over 600 lives in Nigeria and displaced millions of people who now seek refuge in Internally Displaced Persons’ camps scattered across the country.

Many farmlands have been washed away by the floods and experts have worried that the situation will affect food prices.



‘Nigeria Can Feed Itself’


On Saturday, 61-year-old Obi, who promised to support farmers and youths in the country, added that Nigeria can feed itself if the right measures are taken.

“If we come into government, I assure you, farmers will go back to farms because we are going to deal with insecurity, we will support youths; the more youths are pulled out of poverty, the more we reduce criminality.

“We will support youths because today Nigerian youths don’t have a home. When we come into government, the youths will have homes because we will solve their problems.”

“Today in Nigeria, people spend all their money to feed themselves. So many people can’t even feed themselves. We will make sure that we start the journey of Nigeria being sufficient in food production. If Israel can feed itself, Nigeria can feed itself. If India can feed itself, Nigeria can feed itself,” he said.

Also at the rally include Obi’s running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed; Labour Party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure; the party’s Director General of the National Campaign Council, Doyin Okupe, amongst others.
