A Ghanaian film producer and Actress; Yvonne Nelson has announced that she will thoroughly soar into Politics by 2024.

A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’abba, has been welcomed by the Department of State Services over the meeting he allowed Channels Television on Thursday with respect to the plan of the National Consultative Front to realize another Nigeria that works for all.

A popular Nigerian singer, Aituaje Iruobe, who is also called Waje has sadly revealed how she was enpregnanted whilst sitting for the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations.

The Chairman of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), which upheld President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term election, Justice Mohammed L. Garba, has been elevated to the Supreme Court.

Justice Garba (from the North-West geo-political zone), who is as of now of the Court of Appeal, is among the four Justices of the court the National Judicial Council (NJC), at its meeting on August 11 and 12 August this year, prescribed to President Buhari for arrangement as Justices of the Supreme Court.

The other three are Justices Tijjani Abubakar (from the North-East Zone); Justice Abdu Aboki (North-West Zone) and Mohammed M. Saulawa (North-west Zone).

The NJC, in an announcement by its representative, Soji Oye, likewise suggested 18 others for appointment as judges of different courts.

They are Justice Gumna Kashim Kaigama, recommended for appointment as the Chief Judge of Yobe State; Kadi Muhammed Abubakar (suggested for arrangement as Grand Kadi of Sharia Court of Appeal, Katsina State) and Justice Mathew Emeka Njoku (as the President, Customary Court of Appeal, Imo State.

The judiciary workers in Ebonyi state have embarked on an indefinite strike action. The workers strike action is intended to put pressure on the state government to implement the consolidated salary structure.

The union three weeks ago issued a fourteen day ultimatum to the state government ordering the implementation of the salary structure and after the period elapsed an additional seven days grace period was added, but all of this did not bring about any response from the government.

It was reported that the workers did not show up to work since they commenced the strike.

The Vice President of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, South-East Zone, Mark Ifezue, said they were following orders from the national leadership to embark on the strike until the government heeds to their demands.

The Department of state security, DSS has released a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Obadiah Mailafiya after he was invited over recent comments he made about Bandits/Boko Haram.

Mailafiya trended online after stating that the commander of the deadly Boko Haram sect was a serving Northern governor during an interview on Nigerian Info radio station on Sunday.

He was invited by the Department of State Security Services, DSS in Jos, Plateau state over the interview.

Just in, the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection; Mrs Cynthia Morrison, has announced the move against 'witches' camps in the country.

In addition, she explained that the Ghanaian authorities had initiated a technique to shut down such amenities nationwide.

The declaration by the authorities of the country to shut down the camps is as a result of the killing of a woman aged 90; Akua Denteh at Kafaba close to Salaga, in the Savannah Region on July 23, 2020, after a witch accusation against her.

The governor of Ondo state, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu has urged of members of the All Progressive Congress in the state to work towards the victory of the party in the forthcoming elections.

The governor who recently emerged as the flag-bearer as governorship candidate of the party pleaded to members who have grievances to sheathe their swords and unite and achieve victory for the party.

Akeredolu said this at the reconciliation meeting held on Sunday.

The governor also spoke about the ongoing disunity the party was experiencing said, “Before now, our disunity or lack of cohesion had robbed us of many advantages, which included our poor showings in the 2019 Presidential and National Assembly Elections.”

“This is, however, not the appropriate time to apportion blames, as all of us have a responsibility to make things work better and ensure unity in our party, going forward, even though this situation is not peculiar to us in Ondo State. It is a feature of any strong and big party like ours.”

Protesters sprung up on Saturday morning in Lagos, Abuja and Kaduna in reaction to the killings going on in southern Kaduna state.

The protests took place about 48 hours after bandits attacked Apiashyim, Kibori, Atakmawei, Apyiako, and Magamiya villages in Southern Kaduna.

The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union gave figures of fatalities that countered that of the police, they said 33 people died while the police gave the total number of deaths as 21.

John Isaac, the National Youth Leader of SOKAPU, said in Kaduna, the protesters stormed the streets of Samaru-Kataf, Zonkwa and Mabushi areas in the Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.

The Zangon Kataf branch chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev Isaac Makama, said the protests showed that Nigerians are not happy with the government’s handling of the security situation in Nigeria.

A petrol tanker accident just occurred at Mile two area in Lagos state.

An unidentified woman died in the accident.

The tanker which was loaded with 55,000 litres of petrol was enroute a delivery when it ran into a deep pot hole thereby losing control of the vehicle.

It then fell to the road and in the event crushed the woman.

The accident was also confirmed by the spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Nosa Okunbor.

He said, “LASEMA Response Team is at Mile 2, inward the Nigerian Army Signal Barracks in recovery operation of a fully-loaded Oil Tanker conveying 55,000 litres of petrol involved in a lone accident which killed a female adult,”.

In Oose Agbedu Ajibawo, a village in Owode-Yewa, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, a village head named Rasheed Sholabi fainted and lost consciousness when he was confronted with proof for allegedly raping his own daughter.

Mr. Sholabi denied the allegations. But when one of his former wives and the child in question confronted him he immediately fainted.

On the account of the police public relations officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the victim reported the incident herself at the police station.

She alleged that her father had been having sex with her for about four years now which has affected her ability to control her urinating.

The PPRO said, “The victim, who told the police that she lost her mother when she was barely two-year-old, said the suspect did not allow her to know any of her mother’s relations.

One of the pastors of Living Faith Church, (Winners Chapel) located at Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, by name Joseph Anthony, accused of forcefully having a carnal knowledge of an 11-year-old teenage girl, in the house of a fellow "man of God", has stated that though he was once ‘tempted to touch’, he by no means raped the girl.

The Peoples Democratic Party has demanded that the former national chairman of the All Progressive Congress should present his primary school leaving certificate to prove that he truly went to school.

The demand was made on Monday by the Chairman of the PDP Campaign Council for the Edo governorship election, Chief Dan Orbih while he was speaking with party members and supporters in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo state.

The chairman also asked Oshiomole to tell Nigerians the real reason he and Obaseki are in disagreement.

“They said Governor Godwin Obaseki, who graduated from the University of Ibadan, has no certificate. I challenge Adams Oshiomhole to show us his Primary 6 certificate,” he said.

A 22-year old man named Yusuf Abdullahi has drowned while he was bathing in a pond in Danhassan, in Kura Local Government Area of Kano State.

The news was disclosed by the Public Relations Officer, of the Kano State Emergency Service, Saidu Mohammed. According to him the incident happened on Sunday.

“We received a distress call on Sunday afternoon from one Malam Sadi Ibrahim, at about 03:31 p.m., that Abdullahi’s body was found floating in a pond.”

“On receiving the information, we quickly sent our rescue team to the scene at about 03:42 p.m.

A light airplane over-burden with cocaine crashed on take-off on its approach to Australia, police said on Saturday, uncovering a Melbourne-based crime syndicate and prompting the arrest of five men with supposed connects to the Italian mafia.
