Guys, please I need help.
I've lost my enrollment ID, and I captured since may, at alausa and I'm yet to receive any passport pick up text. I tracked online and it's still at production stage. The last time I went there to check my passport status because I didn't have my enrollment ID they said I should go that I'd get a text when it's ready for collection. I'm tired of waiting.

Alausa is already issueing for those that captured in July. Your passport is over ready if you don't have any issue. I captured in May and I have gotten my passport.

You will not get any text message. Alausa has stopped sending messages. The tracker will not update. I have collected my passport and the tracker is still at production stage as I type . Telling you that you will get a text is just to discharge you. You will need to speak up that you lost your collection slip accidentally and that you captured in May. If you are renewing your passport, remember to go with your expired or current passport. If you are still not getting any attention, request to see the PCO. Just ask any officer for the PCO'S office or you go to the front desk upstairs. Your passport will come out.

Hello I checked for the progress of my passport at Alausa yesterday and this time instead of "AA" they wrote "UP". What does it mean?

I'm guessing they mean:

Awaiting approval- AA
Undergoing production -UP

But could anyone confirm and how quickly should my passport be ready after it starts showing UP?

Your passport is ready but awaiting lamination. I guess they told you to snap your slip with your phone and check back next week but give it 2 weeks before you go back. When mine was at UP stage it was not ready the following week when I checked. Hopefully, your case may be different but I will suggest you give it 2 weeks before you go back again.

You will not get any text message (Alausa has stopped sending sms) and tracker will not update.

I got a shock of my life today at Alausa NIS office in Lagos today.

100% DIY.
Captured 4th May 2022.

I was there today to check for collection and was told my passport is not ready again. I made further inquiry in the collection room and was told that the reason for the delay is because my file was missing in the production room.

I was advised to reopen another file with all my application documents at Servicom so that they can complete the production. I almost collapse. Imagine hearing this after waiting for almost five months after capturing.

To DIY na serious war o!

That was five months for me. My situation is just 1 out of maybe 20 that may have this type of challenges. I think I am not lucky with DIY.

I came for collection on the 28th of September 2022 and I was told it was ready but still in production room. I was advised to come this week Tuesday. They checked today and told me the same thing, to come back next week again after 8 times of coming for my passport. I just went straight to the PCO's office to report and my passport came out on a strong order . I didn't pay any officer a kobo from start to finish but I must confess that it was stressful for me.

I wish all of us in the process a stress-free exercise, and thank you to everyone assisting people with good information here.

If you captured at Alausa passport office July downwards, kindly go and pickup your passport as it's ready for collection according to immigration officers over there. They are having issues with the SMS platform therefore you might not get any message from them.

It was Alausa PCO that made this announcement herself this morning in the waiting room outside meant for people who want to collect their passports.

If any officer at Alausa tells you that you will get an sms as at today, just believe they just said that to discharge you. The PCO said it today in the hall that they are not sending sms again because the method have some issues. They are working on a better effective approach as regards sms which they will communicate when it is ready.

She also mentioned that people should not follow the three weeks collection date written on the collection slip. That's if you are a DIYer. The 3 weeks is the stardard they plan to achieve. She really gave genuine information.

It is not the cash I am concerned about. As you said I will most likely not be carrying cash when going. My concern is with the phones when traveling with them in my luggage. Is there a chance of, say customs bringing up issues or asking to pay import duty or anything like that on the phones.

It may depend on the quantity you bought. I really don't have much info on this. Please, inquire further sha.

Please I have a question for those who travel often in and out of the country. I will be going to Singapore in the 26th of Sept for 5 days and I intend to buy some of the new IPhone 14s when coming back. I will walk into official Apple store and pay cash. I want to know if there is any chance of having issues with immigration/customs at any of the airports (Singapore, Doha or Nigeria). Just like 6 or 7 Phones. I will obviously have my proof of purchase and they will be inside my luggage. Do they give issues in such cases please or I am good to go?

You're expected to declare any cash on you that is $2000 and above with Nigeria immigration at the airport. You'll fill a form in that regard, but you can have more than that in your dollar Master card if you have one. It's a regular to guard against money laundering. I hope this answers your question though this is not what this platform is meant for.

Your passport should be ready by next month of October if everything goes well. They're rounding up with May production if you are 100% DYI.

Maybe you should give yourself minimum of 3 months from now if you did 100% DIY at Alausa. They have alot of backlog to clear and I think they are still clearing those that captured this year May.

I did captured for renewal at Alausa on the 4th
of May. I was there last week and they told me my passport is not ready, and that I should wait for text message from them. I'm four months plus waiting for my passport to be ready . This is not funny at all

Good day all, In my collection slip at Alausa they said i should come September 12. Went there today, process was fast. They called my name and said my Passport isn't ready. Wrote some stuffs with red biro on the slip and said i will get a text when it's ready. I went through DIY 100% and want to ask, how long will i have to wait? Although i don't need it urgently but why are others getting there's with just the slip and mine isn't ready? Is it because of the DIY process? Thanks all.

Yes, it's true.
It's just a simple formal letter to the branch manager of the bank you select.
If you have e-signature on your laptop or desktop the then you're good to go.

My Visa is not yet ready and still being processed, but I have every other document including my flight ticket fully paid for. Can I still start it on the tradesystem platform pending when the visa is ready in about a week or so? My departure is September 26th.

It is important that you upload all your documents at once or else it won't be processed. You need to upload your Visa page, data page of your passport, return ticket and letter of authorization. Sept 26 is very close. I want to advise once again thank you confirm from all the banks you operate to see if you can get any help. I wish you all the best once again.

Please I have a few questions about PTA.
Most banks, I have read that Travel date must be within the next 2 weeks, meaning travel date not more than 14 days from PTA purchase date.

1. Does this mean I have to wait 2 weeks to my travel date to apply? But I have heard that it takes several weeks to get it, so doesn't that mean my travel date will arrive before I'm able to get the PTA?

2. Secondly, if it happens that way and travel date comes before I get the PTA, will I still get it?

3. I have GTB, ACCESS, STANBIC, STERLING and UBA. Is there any of these that is best to use to get PTA faster or the bank doesn't really matter.

4. Lastly, on the average, how long does it generally take now to get PTA. Trip is to Singapore.

PTA is getting difficult by the day.
Don't wait for the two weeks window before you apply. You may not get it at the end of the day. I could not get it for my last trip in July because I applied two weeks before my trip unlike before.

If you already have your return ticket. Start the process now. Visit your banks to confirm if the have long queue of applications on their system or else your application will just be there. You can apply to many banks at once. You may be lucky for one to process among your list of applications. This is not a PTA platform so I believe this info is enough. Good luck.

I have visited the center five times and they keep telling me not ready. DIY is not for the faint hearted.

NIS is corrupt beyond repair!
From minister to clearner in every centre especially in the south. Just that some centers get better PCO that still dey make dem get small small sense. Sagamu center is currently one of such less devil.

DIY is highly frustrating. If you don't have the patience just no bother.

Thanks. There seems to be a problem with Alausa. The agent I spoke with at Alausa yesterday said even with fast track, the earliest date of data capturing is October. With this projection, I can't meet up with my plan. Hence, why I'm looking outside Lagos

I have a challenge here.

My passport expires on the 19th of February 2023. It will be 6 months to expire from the 19th of this month.

I just made payment and booked an appointment for the 8th of this month before it came to my mind. I tried rescheduling to the 22nd of this month but the rescheduling is disabled for that centre.

Will I have any problems if I go for the biometrics on the 8th?

The center is Abakiliki.

If you have not been able to reschedule the appointment date online then the first schedule of 8th August is still valid for you.

If you are still interested in rescheduling then you keep trying online or you change your browser. You may be experiencing network or browser issues.

Your guarantor has done well for you already. Save you money and stress. Fill the remaining columns on the guarantor's form, prepare other necessary required documents and you are good to go.

I intend going to Shagamu center next week Tuesday but I would be using fast track due to the urgency. Will you advise I submit the application on line and then go to the center to fast track or just apply fast track from the get go?

I don't know about how they do fast track in Shagamu. Maybe someone who have done there can respond.

In Alausa, you can do DIY and later get an officer to help you fast track or you use officer from start to finish. It's almost the same amount. I'm speaking from what I saw with my eye at the center.

I am for DIY, and I can't say much about fast track. Thanks for the understanding.

When did you capture? I captured(renewal) in Alausa (DIY)on April 8th, went there July 27th, without getting an SMS, but my passport was ready and collected.

I captured May 4 at Alausa. A guy that captured April 8 did not get his passport today. They also told him to wait for sms . Another person of April 16 or something got sms and collect today.
