I've been following this thread since 2016. IELTS has showed me pepper i have written and lost count my writing was always coming back with 6.5, But i could not retreat with all the testimonies here and there. I also contacted @Johnnybravo when he dropped a line to encourage someone that was down with the writing syndrome he said and i quote "BY THE TIME AM THROUGH WITH YOU IN YOUR WRITING YOU WILL NEVER BE THE SAME". Mehn this guy is a Guru immediately after my 1st session with him, he was able to identify my issue in writing. Lo and Behold i scaled IELTS this time L - 8.5 R - 8.5 W - 7.5 S - 7.0 CRS now stands at 463. Thanks to all those testimonies that kept me going and not to retreat. @johnnybr.avo@vc.ole@ifeoma,@joo,@Topsm.amen,@wasseyne.west...+ silent readers wishing us well...THANK YOU,THANK YOU, THANK YOU....May we never stop rejoicing. titibaby: I smiled when I read the last paragraph of your post. You are comparing yourself- a pro-immigration, black, Nigerian graduate with at least 3 years of professional experience at a job that requires high level logical thinking to a Canadian VO who is usually a white, high school cert holder, probably racist and possibly anti-immigration. How aligned will your conclusions be? Remember they have never went through the rigours of obtaining visas to visit 90% of the countries they have visited. Hence, they are likely to be less sympathetic to the 'packaging lies' that is quite common to us here.
I did not advocate lying or anything remotely close to it. I never have and I never will. However, to tell them to write an LOE detailing everything as they have told us here (which is a counsel I have seen many times) is likely 'suicidal' to their application. I still maintain that the applicant needs to do is to be methodical and logical in their presentation. It is useful to remember that we are a friendly audience while the is not. That is my view.
You had me laughing at your description of a typical VO, haba Sis!! Not fair to assume about them like that. That being said, I see your point - still don't completely agree (I'm team write the LOE and confess ) but I understand your stance. 7 Likes |

Gozchi: please i need advice on this. i have asked earlier, about 13 years ago I was denied a US visiting visa with my parents. My passport had a wrong DOB. However, I never used it for any travel, it was the old type of passport. my current ecowas passport has the correct DOB and I have visited countries with it. In statutory questions post a ITA , I did mention I have being denied a US visa. do i need to go ahead and tell them the passport had a wrong DOB?(though that wasn't the reason why I was refused) i dont want to be to forward with the info. It's not necessary and that information has no impact on your application. You've already corrected the passport, leave it at that 1 Like |

You see why I was just getting antsy the other time. For those of us who have to go the IQAS route, its such a test of patience. My application has crossed the 3 month mark with them but I've not even heard a single word about it. Apart from Fedex confirming delivery, they have not confirmed that my application and transcript are with them. Anyone commencing with IQAS around this period should be ready for ECA around December.
Maybe, its true sha that there must be a point in this journey that you'll experience a slow down, either IELTS, ECA, PCC from North Cyprus or long processing time. I wee sha see the goodness of God in the land of Canada Amen!!!!!! |

The best part is the satisfaction of seeing the assessment as a ‘first professional University Degree In Law’. My people, WES still isn’t out oo. I would have just waited time, money and less points waiting for WES. Thank you all for the wealth of Information, if not I wouldn’t have known about IQAS. Once my husband’s 2nd IELTS result comes out successful, we’ll be diving into the pool. It will definitely end in praise.. Congratulations! Wow! 6 months. Finally, if you feel strongly about this journey, GO FOR IT. Sometimes we get in the way of ourselves, we come up with excuses why and how not to. I delayed so much just by discouraging myself several times. It was either I was wondering where the funds were gonna come from or being mad that I wasn’t in my career path while looking out for NOC. There’s always gonna be something so you might as well just go for it. JUST DO IT. Don’t delay. Help just popped everywhere. Wes was paid by a friend, IELTS was paid by my colleague who encouraged me at the start just to give me a head-start, POF was given to me by mum and my application fees were paid by my bro. I only paid for my PCCs, Medicals, Passports, Notarization of Gift deed. The past 4 years have been the toughest and I’m really looking forward to a new life. I feel like this is my new lease on life and I’m seizing this opportunity to reinvent myself, go after my desired career path and dream job, making new friends and build new relationships. Please keep pushing whatever stage you’re at. God’s got you. Every day is a step closer to your dreams…..x

"Has XXXX been refused refugee status, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) or application to the Provincial nominee Program) or visitor or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country?"
AND
Has XXXX ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country? Yes to both |

Liz2014: I'm sorry, looks like I forgot to add that this is a paper based provincial nomination application, he was not required to attach proof of funds when he applied for PR as this was fulfilled as part of province process. We confirmed this from them as it was not included in his checklist, but he kept his funds intact anyways as per the province. And yes, you can add spouse and declare as non-accompanying (it's your choice) I respect their decision to do that. The reason he listed her as non-accompanying was because the wife was in a masters program in UI waiting to defend her project. He felt his PR was near as he had gotten a ghost update a week before his wedding, they were not sure what to expect and his medicals expires July. The plan was to come here and sponsor the wife. He rightly notified them and they kept mute about it.
Here is where they are at fault; He sent them his marital status update thrice!, first, when he got married, he sent marriage cert and additional family info to the web form and asked if anything else was required from him (he obviously can't generate a UCI himself). Secondly, when he got his PR email 4 days later, he sent with his passport; the additional family information form and marriage cert again explaining the reason why the wife his not accompanying which they didn't respond to or request anything more. We were even thinking it was due to the update that caused them to approve him to go alone or so. He received his stamped visa and COPR 3 weeks after that. He sent them an email the third time, cos he also thought it was weird that he would get a visa (after sending necessary documents with an empty un-stamped passport to show he is now married) without his wife getting a medical request or UCI. They were completely mute. The only thing he got was they confirmed receipt and has forwarded it to the visa office.
Imagine if you had to get a visa, spent 3 months preparing to start a new life in cad, resign your job, then they cancel your visa saying oh we forgot to update the fact that you have a wife on your application. Yes they have the right to cancel, but common courtesy demands that they communicate that to you, which they failed to in this case. Having him to be embarrassed at the airport(thankfully he didn't leave Nigeria yet). That is where their fault is. According to their policy, they should send you an email to return your visa and COPR and then stamp cancelled on it, again they didn't do that. He even had a job interview in Canada the next day.
When he found out his visa was cancelled at the airport, Someone told him to email Ralph Goodale and I said the same Ralph that I drive by his office to work everyday he is the MP of my constituency sef. So I spoke to his secretary and she also agreed that they were wrong in communicating. She spoke with a CIC Agent and they said what they have on file is that he failed to communicate his change in status with them, I then asked him to forward all the correspondences he sent and the confirmation he got saying the update has been forwarded to the processing office when he used the web form. He did that on May 6th and on the 7th, his file was re-opened and he got a request that the wife should go for medicals, police clearance, PR fees to be paid and all and all the forms that has to be filled. The agent said he has asked them on when they notified the applicant on this cancellation, no response from them yet. He would increase his POF in the bank just in case, although I was expecting a request to attach an updated POF to this new submission.
I have had a terrible experience with Accra personally. Years before express entry started, I had applied for PR then it was only paper based system. When I saw that I hadn't gotten a medical request and someone that submitted after me had gotten, I emailed accra and to my surprise they said they couldn't find my application. I forwarded them the email that said the application has been forwarded to accra visa office 2 months ago, they then replied me to my greatest shock that yes they received it but it is now missing and that I should resend my application. I emailed them photocopies of what I had sent them, apparently I no longer had my original police cert and an affidavit that I forgot to make a copy of. I told them they had to make do with what they had as it was their fault that my documents was missing at their office.(I was shocked that they did't have a way of uploading documents they received electronically at that time or maybe they just forgot to do mine) A week after, I got a medical request and a month after a request to come down to Accra for PR Visa. I am a citizen today. They are human beings and there are prone to be inefficiencies here and there.
You're right it's really painful. I'm so sorry that your brother had to go through that, so very sorry. Here's to hoping AVO finalizes the application speedily. ❤❤ 4 Likes |

titibaby: I think we should be careful the way we advise people to explain everything clearly. The VO will understand. VOs are not is the business of go and sin no more o. They are trained to punish infractions. So while it is ok to declare, we need to be mindful how is presented.
Anyone with experience on explaining everything and still getting PPR should post.
The VOs are also smart enough to sniff out dodginess, obfuscation or pure lies. You know the issue with such situations? We never take the time to wear the VOs shoes. While you may think that you've cleverly manipulated the truth, yours is the 6000th such case that the VO is reading that week and he spots the truth instantly. The documents submitted for sibling relationship were the birth certificate for her and her brother (Not from NPC) and international passport that shows the same surname.
