LOGAN TI O DE!!!!!

Decision to travel 2017, my husband (PA) wrote IELTS in 2017 and had 6.5 in listening didn't really know much about express entry then he got a job in the UK and we exed Canada and focused on UK. UK now came with their wahala and increased the salary scale for sponsorship and the company couldn't afford the new salary scale, so we exed the whole process and continued with our lives.

WHILE WAITING FOR PPR

1. We searched for flights (momomdo, travelstart, skyscanner, wakanow, jumia, Google flights, IOM). Google flights actually puts the fare on each day, so you'll get to know the cheapest day to fly/book.
2. Searched for apartments (Edmonton)
3. Searched bridging courses
4. Made list of foodstuffs to carry
5. Searched for jobs, updated our CV to Canadian standard
6. Decided on banks to use, phone network
7. Searched for daycare for our 2yr old
8. Searched for car to buy
9. Got familiar with Edmonton via Google maps, YouTube
10. Searched for hospitals
11. Asked different people about benefits we're entitled to in Edmonton

I'm dedicating this PPR to God and our friend who was also on this journey but lost his life in a ghastly motor accident. He died on the spot, the day his IELTS result was released (October 12) and he was yet to check the result.

Thank God for his sufficient grace. We're moving to Edmonton, Alberta.
Congratulations!! I cracked up when you mentioned the darker blood grin grin grin
Thank God it has ended in praise and may the soul of your friend, rest in peace

Really, I have seen this in people's IELTS stories. I have also had to consider whether those BC people dey do ojoro. cheesy

But, frankly, it has very little to do with the BC and more to do with the test-takers. Barring any uncommon factor, there's no way anyone will adequately prepare for any exam and not hit his/her target scores. And adequacy doesn't have to be about the quantity of preparation. It's the quality that matters.

Of course, I know that the IELTS scoring is subjective. However, even with the subjectivity, it's quite uncommon to see someone's EOR in Writing, for instance, jump from 6.5 to 8.

I hate to say this, but I strongly believe that the bulk of the problem people encounter with the IELTS exam can be linked to how adequate their preparations were and how they think about the exam. Most people think way too much about it.

While thinking too much about it may be good, there is a thin line between overthinking and fear and anxiety. Fear and anxiety have made many people fail exams they would have otherwise passed.

To those still trying to cross the IELTS hurdle, hang in there! Best wishes.
I agree with you that adequate preparation is key and I'll even admit that yes, a lot of us Nigerians don't write that well.
But it can't be denied that the marking scheme for the writing module changed significantly when immigration became popular. People who score 6.5 in Naija would score 8 if they wrote from another country.
A friend of mine wrote IELTS academic four years ago with little or no preparation and had 7 all through.
She just attempted GT last month. You don't want to know her score cry

I am a seaman by profession Class 2 ETO. I have not in anyway seen anyone with similar job description like me on this platform. Is it that seamen don't apply ? Please and please can we complete the process from Dubai after this first 2 stages. Thanks

My PPR JOURNEY PART 2 - IELTS (a.k.a The humbler of men)

Let me start by saying that IELTS showed me shegeeeey! Again error go dey breekete for this write up wella cheesy

First attempt. 05/Jan/2019..BC
LRWS.. 7.5,,6.5,,6.5,,7

I went to this exam with all excitement that we were about to enter the process. I never envisaged what was coming, only if we can see the future.

Second attempt 09/Feb/2019.. BC.

I practised soteey, I almost finished all the listening test on YouTube.

Hia!! It came out. embarassed
LRWS.. 9,,8,,6.5,,7.5
Remark unchanged... I na-anukwa!!

At this point, i lost confidence in myself. Just like what people say "I have never failed any exam in my life". Not just that I have never failed any exam until IELTS, I have never been an average student. With the help of my husband, I dusted myself and registered for another.

Third attempt.. 27/APRIL/2019..BC

A friend advised me to register with MOD. Stubborn me! I say na the same thing everywhere. A na-emenu!

This time, i practised only writing. I reached out to Wasseynewest and joined his group, the guy is a Saint, I must say. I learnt a lot from him.
I also reached out to Johnnybravo who was very busy with other candidates at the time. He had a session with me. He said that my writing was good to fetch me 7 at least. I said to myself "IELTS na me and you for one leg trouser". I must pass, Iwu!!

Brethren!
It came out...
LRWS.. 9,,8.5,,6.5,,8
I am still awaiting the remark ni! lipsrsealed

So Sad.
Infact, I felt worthless.
I cried eeeh. When I see sample writing on IELTS, I just wondered what I did wrong. I thought i had always written what could atleast fetch me 7.
Dusted myself the 3rd time, and quickly registered for another IELTS.

Fourth attempt.. 23rd May 2019

This time I registered with MOD.
A friend chatted me up one day that he had a writing material. He said that he would share the material on one condition, that I must drop all the writing techniques or whatever I had learnt and study the materials to the teeth. I agreed and promised too. After all, what did the ones I learnt fetch.
Na so I read this material bumper to bumper and line by line without thinking of Jay, Liz etc.
On the test day, I must say this was
one of most stressful days of my life. I had to take all the tests same day. I came out of the exam hall downcast and unfulfilled about my writing.I was just blabbering during my speaking test. In my mind, I was planning on the next date to repeat the exam. I started practicing for writing since that day, I focused on Jay and was looking forward to 29th June to write another one because I was not giving up.

Today, I woke up early and broke down in tears cry. My husband consoled me soteey he tire. When it was 11am, I started purging and developed fever. I thought "My God, why have you forsaken me". Meanwhile, i
hadn't checked my result ooo.

At 12:20pm, Mbanu! Why am I doing this to myself ni!
Brethren!
I checked.. Lo and behold!

LRWS... 9,,8.5,,7,,7 grin

My people, I can't describe the joy. The purge stopped, the fever vanished.
Indescribable joy..WHAT A RELIEF!! I wonder what PPR will feel like. lipsrsealed

Veno.rite and Yembla.ze, God will do it for you guys too. kiss
For all those who are still in the struggle, never give up.

The feeling eeh! Chaii!
Chukwu daalu!! To God be the glory.
grin grin grin grin wonder how the PPR gist will be when the IELTS gist is this sweet grin
Congratulations Chicky, now we know that IELTS result also has pharmaceutical applications cheesy
This part has ended in praise

Hello people, to provide perspective to this...... Find below a summary of what happened based on the post on the referenced forum;

The VO claimed the wife, PA, misrepresented job duties. The job claimed is that of correctional and social worker manager noc 0423 & not satisfied invited them for interview bla bla bla. At the end ban!!! He claimed they had pictures etc to back it up but no certificate in training, CAC docs showed the object clause of the Coy was for a different purpose etc. It was a SINP. Again, the Coy the works for belongs to the brother and the VO requested for CAC docs to proof the coy is into such. Unfortunately, like in Naija where a coy is registered to do general contracts and is into pharmacy, it didn't sell. In all, it looks like a set up JD to the VO. We can learn. I believe this can be overturned via judicial review if sufficient docs exist to clear the grey areas.
Maybe they mistakenly chose a wrong NOC. A social worker / correctional officer is usually employed by government institutions.
Doing that NOC for a private, family owned business sounds implausible.

Silent reader, been here since 2016.
Glory to God!!
Wrote ielts on 23rd May (1st attempt).
LRWS 8.5/9/7.5/7.5
I started preparing two weeks to the exam with intense practice 5 days to the test day.
I used Jay’s YouTube videos for speaking (this didn’t help me that much on test day especially in Part 1 and 3), ielts made easy pdf for writing (finished the book in one sitting), practice questions on ielts-up.com for listening and reading (I love this website because the practice texts were well simulated and this made me very comfortable on test day) Listening and Reading were my strongholds.
I practiced with 30mins for Reading so on the test day, I finished within 40mins.

Reading technique I employed: I read the questions first, then skim and scan for the paragraphs with the key words in the question. It proved very effective on test day.

Listening: Maximum concentration and knowledge of a wide range of synonyms.

Writing: I wrote only two essays before my test just because I was too lazy to write anything. However, I read a wide range of essays and articles online and in a Cambridge book (Band 9 essays, can’t remember the exact name) I also read ielts made easy and learnt how to incorporate linking phrases and all. On test day, my paragraphing was really poor but I think I wrote fairly well as that was the only thing I was worried about.

Speaking: I was very anxious and time flew very fast. I was in despair after the test because I really didn’t expect the questions.
Finally, I PRAYED and PRAYED.. I’m Catholic so I did a novena to St. Joseph of Cupertino. That exam prayer does work wonders!!
Currently awaiting ECA from MCC..

CRS: 456 (single, recent graduate, 1yr work experience) smiley praying for ITA to locate me when I’m ready. Thank you Jesus
Awesome result!! Congratulations

Good morning everyone, i just got my ielts result (first attempt) may 23
LRWS 87.577.5

This feels like getting ready for PPR. ......I am a silent reader here.....the journey wassnt smooth but God came through. .....I had had stories of people not passing in thier first attempt and knowing how I had phobia for falling exams, I became very scared ......I booked my exams April thanks to my brother because I didn't even have 1 naira. ....he gave me the condition that if I pass he wouldn't collect his money back (jokinly).......imagine being a lecturer where you set very hard questions for students and here I am in the position of my students....

.in between all this I got admission for phd in April with compulsory lecture attendance everyday.....it wasn't easy at all.....I was worried because my husband works in another state.....I go to school as early as 6am , drop my son then come back around 2pm, head to work till 6pm when I pick my son up....I can't read till he sleeps around 10pm....just 1hr or 2....I was just practicing reading and listening, all Cambridge 14 to 9 and www.ieltsonline.com....I watched all liz and jays video on writing but I still didn't start practisin writing until 2weeks to exams...I sent in an essay to one of my friend who had PHD in english and she was dissapointed, she asked when I was writing and she said only God can help you get 6.0 in writing..

That was when I got @Johnnybrav.vo1990 contact here....initially I was skeptical but the thought of failing pushed me......he was very nice Nd too good....he asked me to practise with pencil and the exams answers sheet because it would help me know how to be in check with words counts....he really tried oh because days when I don't send in essays, he would ask why....he took his time to tutor me and thought be the basics....God bless you sir .....he was

This is where the big blow came, my son fell ill on sunday....I couldnt read nor sleep because my exams was on Thursday while speaking test was on Wednesday. ..I travelled to ibadan on Monday with my son....he was still feeling feverish after taking him to the hospital with sleepless nights and medications, Thank God for my in laws. ......then on Wednesday, my son had fiberal convotion(doctors will understand ) we had to rush to the hospital but he was observed for 2hrs and I went for my speaking test..... i was just praying to God to grant my son good health because I couldn't concentrate well for my speaking test.....test day came, he was recuperating. ......I didn't even read because of him.....I just prayed to God to make this effort worth it and He did......I feel like a burden is lifted.....

I cried when I saw my results because God did great through the odds....I was elated even my husband is now encouraged to write the exams

I pray for breakthrough for everyone at one stage or the other on thier journey.......

Please I need your help....my NOC IS 4011 because I am a university lecturer but my husnand js a polythecnic lecturer, Can he also claim the same NOC. .....wes hasn't sent our evaluation yet, so I would wait because scores with siblings point and without hubby's ielts is 470.....
grin your PhD friend is harsh mehn.
Big congratulations to you!! Thank God for the help in such trying times. Kisses to your son.

PS. If you're the PA, you don't need to worry about your husband's NOC. Put his work experience in personal history - it doesn't add any points

I would be the most ungrateful being if I didn't share my story here. This is not PPR (at least not yet), but I just conquered IELTS on the 10th attempt, still awaiting result of the 11th and a remark of my 9th. First of all, my ultimate gratitude goes to God Almighty for giving me the resilience to fight though these trying times.

My first IELTS test was April 21 2018, and I wrote back to back on a monthly basis until 23rd May 2019 (the game changer). Months I didn't write, I was hoping for a positive EOR, none ever came back changed. Allow me to state that, the 6.5 in writing was my major hurdle. I have sought help tirelessly on this thread but it was the same story. I eventually stopped practicing for other components again because I knew all the questions and answers in my head already, I mean, after studying almost every day of your life for over 12 months, there was nothing new to learn.

To be brief, my last resort was to contact @JohnnyBravo just 3 days to the test of 23rd May. I ensured I unlearned everything I had learnt about writing and strictly followed his teachings. I'm sincerely grateful to you for your attention and professionalism, God bless you endlessly. For all who are still stuck with writing, please let him guide you. Thank you again bro.

In conclusion, (sorry o but after taking the writing test for over 12 months, my writing has been structured into 4 BPs) while it is not easy, I'd like to encourage anyone struggling with any aspect of this journey not to give up. There's joy in knowing you eventually conquered. I'm positioned for an ITA in the coming draws and may The Good Lord make the rest of the journey smooth for us. Amen.
Wow!! Congratulations, you are a study in determination.
Amen to smooth journeys

Hello fam,
I have a 4 years experience of teaching mathematics in a private secondary school, while going through the NOC 4031 for secondary school teachers, I noticed a bachelor degree in education is required. However, I have only a BSc and no teaching degree or certificate. Is it ok to apply for the EE with a Teaching job description without a Bachelor of education or other Teaching certificates?
Absolutely!
It's not a problem at all, that part is more like a suggestion of what it would take you to actually work in that NOC in Canada

Good day fam,

Please I need your help on my EE profile, I submitted it since last year September and haven't checked it since then. I now am trying to do so and after signing into my account using my GC key, it just shows me the first attached image. If I click continue, it takes me to the second image and then the third.

Am I doing anything wrong? Can I get to my account by using any other links? I am kinda confused. Also can I build a new profile? Would it affect my previously created profile? What happens to my UCI and Profile No that I was given prior to today? Would creating a new profile mean I would have to sign up for a new GC Key with same details as the previous details I supplied for my previous profile?

I am sorry I am asking a million and one questions but I urgently need help on this. Thanks fam.

Happens all the time. You might repeat the sign in process up to 10 times sef before you get in.

Daring initiative. I would have signed but my application is still in consideration by CIC, too risky. I think it is unlikely the petition would have any effect. It would take a revisit of policy to change this, not just a petition and it will be a long bureaucratic process. Besides there is a huge number of people in the pool who have score 7-9 in writing, so there is little incentive for the change. But at least your petition stands a chance. I would advice you find other ways to boost your score to 7 or 8 since that is more within your control than waiting for your petition to gain momentum and perhaps incite a change.

All the best to you in the process

More like a presumptuous initiative. Basically saying lower your standards so I can get in.
But that's not the even the solution to the problem, because once 6.5 becomes acceptable, BC and MOD will start dishing out 6.0 as IELTS writing scores.
Have you noticed that once someone has a 7/7.5 in listening, their writing is also a 7? Then they rewrite and get 8/9 in listening and suddenly the writing slips down to 6.5.
The petition should be made against the examining bodies, not CIC

Pls my friend is in a dilemma, she applied to Manitoba, her cousin is her sponsor they called her sponsor 2weks ago from ircc he didn't pick up but they later called my friend to send all convincing document to be sure if truly they are blood related, after she sent all the document including throwback pictures of them together, they now called the sponsor again yesterday he didn't pick, the vo called my friend again yesterday that to ask why her sponsor was refusing to pick his phone and his email bounced back too that they don't usually call applicant, now the vo told my friend to give her sponsor his phone number to call him. The problem now is that my friend's cousin has refused to talk to her since yesterday it seems he is not willing to help her further. Pls in the event that he is not willing to call them to confirm their ties what will happen to my friend? It seems his mind has been poisoned by someone he wants to back out from helping her and they are very close that he released all his info at the beginning. Pls help find a solution. Thanks
No other solution here but for the sponsor to step up to bat.
I hope they are actually related. Could it be that the cousin got cold feet because he realised that he's putting his own PR status in danger covering for your friend?
If that's not the case, then your friend should consider calling in other family members (e.g. his parents) to help her beg him and find the antidote to the poison

So, WES decided to burst my bubble and fall my hand, faxing my ND and HND Statement of Result to WES was the first thing I did after payment. My status was updated 'we received your documents bla bla bla', numerous emails and two months of inactivity later, I got an update that WES has ACCEPTED my documents save for my statement of Result which has not been RECEIVED. so status was put on hold oh.

Okay, no problem, sent another fax immediately and after about 24hours, my timeline was updated as 'we received your documents bla bla bla' again. Fast forward to 35 days of back and forth emails I got another update that all documents has been accepted except my ND and HND Statement of Result which has not been received.
I don't understand again ohh, please someone should help me out.
I personally faxed Hubby's certificate to WES myself and we are waiting for verification from his school, I don't understand what is going wrong. This matter Don tire me ohh.
Be sure you're faxing to WES Canada and not WES USA.

Hi everyone
Don't know if this question has been answered here before. I haven't come across it yet. It has been bothering me.
I have two passports (dual citizen). The Nigerian passport has expired. I uploaded the other valid one and mentioned (LOE) that the other (Naija pali) has expired.

Do you think we'll get an ADR for me to submit a valid Naija passport?

Considering, it is a hassle getting Naija passports these days, should i struggle to have it done now and raise a CSE?

I really do not need the Nigerian passport, but i just want to eir on the side of caution since i mentioned i have dual citizenship.

Has anyone of dual citizenship gotten PPR without having to upload or renew one of his/her expired passports.
Disclaimer: the Nigerian passport isn't my main passport
I am not the PA.

Has anyone been in this situation before? Please i need an advice. Thank you.

i pray i am worrying for nothing! Because, the struggle to get the Naija pali + the money, no be here!grin
I really don't think it's compulsory you have the naija passport.

Hello to everyone in the house. I've been a silent reader all the while just because I had to scroll through all the threads from Part 1 to the current thread. This is to avoid asking questions you gurus have taken time to address in the past.

I really appreciate you all. I heard about this CAN PR thing last year. I simulated my score at the time and it wasn't encouraging. And after I checked how much the POF for a family of four would be, coupled with the facts that age was really no more on my side and more so, I was yet to know of the existence of a goldmine in these threads, I gave up (that last year)!

Not quite long, my interest was rekindled by a friend (and his wife of course) who got PPR and advised I give it a serious try. I have been researching (on here) ever since. Eventhough I still think of/worry about the huge money involved now but have rather concluded I'll have to bid my time and take things a step after the other in this long, tasking and draining journey.

Thanks to the men and women in here who, out of their kind hearts/benevolence, have continually shown others the way forward. Quite a few monikers have stuck to memory in the course of my reading; Za.ndora, 40ma.nlappy, Newmum, Joo, Cochtr.ane, Nobody, Ifeo.ma77, Ste.ncil (always sounding like pencil), Workah.olics Ladyma.rshall and Topsma.men, and so on... And yes, there's this moniker too, he helps in putting others through IELTS Writing (How on earth did I forget that 'name'?). Once corrected someone who was revelling on how he finally made IELTS (writing had been his weak point until after two attempts or so) but failed to acknowledge his (the trainer) input.

So many wonderful PPR scripts read so far, with mixed challenges/stories in the course of chasing them but of course, Deboks' was so hilarious. I can't forget that moniker in a hurry. Infact, I would sugget she should edit to Tiptoe_Deboks already! (I'm not forgetting how she had to dig deep to endure like the Abuja guy turned Lagos Taxifyer).

I'll say it's simply because of the hard works most of these people (mentioned above) have put in, both to the previous & current threads that I rather decided to read, read and read through all the threads to prevent myself from asking unnecessary (in fairness and in my opinion) questions. I suggest fellow newbies do the same. I managed to crawl into page 104 early this morning and thought I was up to date. I blinked afterwards and we're already in page 113! These pages move so fast at a baffling rate! Interestingly, most of the questions getting asked in the new pages are more often, repeated questions.

Permit me to say once again to the top gurus in this thread, you guys are jewels, priceless as such! What would we even do without you?

You're the real MVP! There's nothing better than being armed with the full picture even before starting the journey. It saves you time, money and a whole lot of heartache. I did exactly what you did and found that I had literally no questions to ask on the thread all through my process.

Welcome and may you hit your own milestones with ease and speed.

PS. I suspect your 'nobody' is 'glitteringstar' cheesy

lmfao grin grin
The reason I love villains is because they're diabolically brilliant, always two steps ahead of everyone, witty/sarcastic and super strong.
Bubu is a negative on all 4 points, his movie also plays in slow motion cry
That will be a hard pass cheesy

2 or more certificates/degrees... That of course will be when you eventually evaluate your certificate through WES.

I hope that answes your question.?
Actually WES will evaluate it as equivalent to a Bachelors. The ND will be taken as the missing 100level.

The OP will have to do some research into which ECA org evaluates his situation positively

I have a couple of question for seniors in the house. I got an update, and in my application status, Background Check changed from ‘We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information’, to ‘Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check’. This looks like my application process is going backward instead of progressing.

1. Should I be worried? AOR was in March; I passed medical exam on 3rd March and completed biometrics on 6th March 2019.

2. What stage of application am I—Ip1 or Ip2?

Current application status is as seen below.
You just entered IP1, the previous one was IP0 grin
Usually, this means your file has landed in a local VO. Try and check this week
