Politics*The Progression Of War, Famine And Death.* by ify2016(op):
I really hope all these people cheering what is going on presently in Nigeria understands the trend of war..
It is always a trend.. From Libya to Syria to Yemen to CAR to Somalia to Liberia to Sierra Leone to Ivory Coast to Rwanda.. It is always the same way, the same trend and stages..

Here are the stages:

PLOT 1... People rise up to protest.

PLOT 2... The Government repressed protesters. Soldiers fired live ammunition into crowd killing protesters.

PLOT 3... Mob retaliated and burnt down government and political leader's assumed assets.

PLOT 4... Army and police withdrew due to international pressure to guard their own barracks only.

PLOT 5. The mob went after assets and houses of prominent political leaders. Then politicians fled abroad with their families.

PLOT 6... The mob went after assets and lives of the middle class or anyone that has semblance of wealth or comfort..
Estate housing and other middle class were attacked.

Then it degenerated to the lower classes, it became a full scale crime wave, robbery, looting, rape, murder etc.
it became the survival of the fittest.
Remember no more police or army to protect them.

PLOT 7... Full scale war as opportunists with group interests and ego took over, competing over interests and end up tearing the country apart.

PLOT 8... People flee their homes. Became refugees as they flee the country in thousands and millions to become beggars in neighbouring and other countries. Many died to famine and diseases.

PLOT 9... This is no more the 1960s.. The internal wars will be a reoccurring decima with no uniting force -
People's children and young men will be recruited as child soldiers.. The old and feeble will be killed and the women raped and eventually killed when deemed of no use.
Remember the Libya scenario.

I hope we are all praying.
All those houses, possessions families and loved ones could disappear in a twinkle of an eye.
Those people abroad blowing the flames of violence will remain abroad eating Kentucky fried chicken in U.S, UK etc. and UN will turn a blind eye, except for a few UN peace keepers kept in one expensive hotel - Remember hotel Rwanda.

What we all need is prayer, not only for Nigeria, but for yourself and your families..
The name Nigeria may disappear and we all bear our family names..
The Billions, Millions or Thousands of Naira in the bank will be more worthless than toilet roll..

WE ARE PRESENTLY AT STAGE 5 IN NIGERIA NOW... IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO END IT.

SAY NO TO ANARCHY
SAY NO TO VIOLENCE
SAY NO TO LOOTING
SAY NOT TO BURNING
SAY NO TO ANYTHING THAT DOES NOT PROMOTE PEACE.

Share this.. it may just help to change someone's mind to embrace peace.
Just making common sense!

PoliticsIt Is Risky For Faceless People To Lead Protests – Dele Momodu Warns Protesters by ify2016(op): 12:58pm On Jul 25, 2024
Dele Momodu, veteran journalist and the publisher of Ovation Magazine, has expressed concerns over the planned youth-led nationwide protest scheduled for August 1 to 15.

In a post on X on Wednesday, Momodu said there are risks associated with protests led by faceless individuals.

Drawing from his extensive experience with protests, which spans 46 years since his time at the University of Ife in 1978, Momodu stated: “I have 46 years experience in protests, since 1978 at the University of Ife.

[b]“There’s nothing riskier for a nation than faceless people or a mob leading protests. It is the right of everyone to protest but not the right of anyone to cause mayhem… And government has the right to protect lives and properties.”

He reiterated that while protesting is a fundamental right, it must be conducted in a manner that does not lead to violence or destruction.

The protest is being organized in response to the escalating economic challenges facing Nigerians, particularly the rising cost of living.

Government should better have plan B because i don't really believe some of these people cashing out.

My concern is that life is so precious and shouldn't be wasted in the name of violent protest.

Nigeria government should listen to the cries of the masses by implementing a significant policies that will reduce hardship.

God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Terrible! Very Terrible!! Extremely Terrible i must say!!! Still wondering rational behind Ndume suspension. Government should accommodate a constructive criticism and implement people oriented policies.

“All the loans they collect, including World Bank loans, etc, are you aware that the same World Bank staff in Nigeria takes back 40 per cent and calls it consultation fees?

“These are things you people should look into. You people should focus on where the problem is and let them leave me alone.”

The England doesn't really have the mental capability to lift the trophy.

I see this game like Real Madrid (Spain) vs Borussia Dortmund ( England) result.

Spain will have it easily at the end scoring 2:0 against England team.

PoliticsBreaking :transport Unions Agree To Be Regulated By Government by ify2016(op): 5:01pm On Jun 27, 2024
The two main transport unions in Lagos, the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) today agreed to embrace government Bus Reform Initiative (BRI), agreeing to embrace formalized bus operations.

The move facilitated by the State Ministry of Transportation, will be piloted on the Lekki – Epe Expressway corridor. Operators of high-capacity buses will be allowed to run their buses and subjected to the regulation of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), while minibuses will be deployed to the inner routes.
At a stakeholder meeting today, Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon. Sola Giwa, stated that the adoption of the informal operators into the BRI is expected to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and provide a more reliable commuting experience for passengers along the Lekki-Epe corridor.
Hon. Giwa further stated that the successful implementation of the program would pave the way for broader adoption and future developments, setting new standards for efficiency and sustainability in urban transport throughout the metropolitan area.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transportation, Mr. Olawale Musa, highlighted the importance of collaboration with the NURTW and RTEAN in implementing these reforms and encouraged them to take ownership of the initiative.

The leadership of the NURTW and RTEAN Lagos chapters, present at the meeting, welcomed the initiative and pledged their support to the government. They expressed their willingness to optimize the inner route network.

Politics10 Diplomatic Ways To Answer The Salary Questions At Interviews by ify2016(op): 10:04am On Jun 19, 2024
You must not forget this first sentence. Never! Ever! Ready?

"90% of employers want to pay you less than the average base pay for the role you are applying for, and 50% of the 90 will adjust the pay if you are a good negotiator the other 40% will stick to the initial amount they offered you. But you can price yourself out of the role"

You must be sharp! Do not lose your steeze!

7 Nuggets to remember: Answering salary questions during interviews can be tricky, as you want to demonstrate your value without pricing yourself out of the role. Here are seven diplomatic ways to handle the question:

Deflect and Focus on Fit: "I'm more interested in finding a position that's a good fit for my skills and career goals. I'm confident that if we're a good match, we can agree on a salary that's fair."

Express Flexibility: "I'm flexible regarding salary and I'm sure we can agree on a number that reflects my skills and experience once we determine I'm the right fit for the role."

Research-Based Approach: "Based on my research of similar positions in this industry, I believe a fair range is between [range]. However, I'm open to discussing this further based on the specifics of the role and the benefits offered."

Turn the Question Around: "I'm sure you have a range in mind for this position. Could you share what the budget for this role is?"

Emphasize Total Compensation: "While salary is important, I'm also interested in other aspects of the compensation package, such as benefits, opportunities for advancement, and the company culture. I'd like to understand the full picture before discussing specific numbers."

Highlight Your Value: "Given my background and the value I can bring to your team, I would expect a salary in the range of [range]. However, I'm open to discussing this further."

Discuss Your Current Earnings: "In my current role, I earn [current salary], and I’m looking for a position that offers both a step up in responsibility and compensation. However, I’m open to negotiation based on the overall benefits and opportunities your company offers."

These responses help to keep the conversation open and show that you're flexible and focused on finding a mutually beneficial agreement.

And now to the 10 Diplomatic Answers

I'm flexible and open to negotiation. I'm sure we can reach a figure that’s a win-win for both of us.

I believe in the value I'll bring to the table. I’m confident we can find a number that reflects that.

I’m looking for something competitive and in line with my skills and experience, but I'm also open to hearing what your budget is for this role.

I trust that your offer will be fair and reflective of the industry standards and my qualifications.

I’m sure we can find common ground that suits both parties. I'm excited about the opportunity more than anything else.

I'm more focused on the role and the opportunities for growth it presents. I’m confident we can agree on a suitable package.

I'm looking for a package that is in line with my experience and the value I plan to bring, but I'm open to discussing specifics.

While I have a range in mind based on my research and experience, I’d love to hear what you have budgeted for this role.

I’m confident that you have a fair range in mind. Let’s discuss the responsibilities in more detail, and we can find a suitable figure.

I trust that your offer will reflect the current market standards and the value I’ll bring to your team. I’m sure we can reach a mutually beneficial agreement.

Let me know (in the comments) what other responses you think is best to the salary questions at interviews.

Thank you very much for your time, I will see you next week.

Cheers.
