Family › Re: Do We Really Have Regulatory Agencies? by ifyalways(f): 10:31am On Oct 14, 2013
yellowpawpaw: There is one mallam kiosk close to my house where we normally buy one or two things.
One day, I took a closer look at the kiosk very well and was very shocked to c the kind of junks called biscuits, chewing gum and sweets he has on display.
My question is this, do our regulatory agencies really look into them b4 they r thrown to the gullible public?

Any idea on d way forward cos me I dey fear for our kids o!
I've seen an 8 year old gal suffering from gum wahala. Her tooth has to be removed finally cos d pain was too much.

Parents, do u really buy these junks in d name of buying snacks for ur children?
How can our kids come out clean with all these tempting junks thrown at their faces every day?

Most of our sachet water and bottled water has odour, has anybody noticed that?

What can we do to minimize all these?
China is not even helping matter.

R we and our children safe?
What is wrong?are the sweets, cbiscuits, goodies expired or what huh
We get same and more at the malls(ice creams, cookies, candies etc) and people buy it and don't complain abi na because malam no package ? cheesy
What do you expect regulatory bodies to do?stop mallams from earning a living ? Its our individual duty as parents to regulate what our children eat, enforce the right habits on them and if we fail at that, its no ones fault.
When you give your child bobo instead of water or Ribena, what message are you passing to the child?
How many times do we as parents give our kids natural fruits not all those china/Chivita canned fruit juices?

I've got a sweet tooth embarassed and i and my boys indulge occasionally yet I'm firm(and they know it) with them when i have/want to be.

Family › Re: Please Advice Him If He Should Marry The Child Of A Mentally Disorder Person by ifyalways(f): 8:54am On Oct 14, 2013
deols: The idea of trashing people's posts and looking for loopholes is what is wrong here.

Nigerians generally believe that mental issues have to do with the devil. It then becomes very easy to attribute the wind blow to her condition.

It may not be related at all.

If you work in a hospital setting, you would be familiar with cases like this.

If someone falls and then develops hematoma. It could be that they had an aneurysm which bursted after which they fell. Or they could have fallen and afterwards, aneurysm bursts.

Now does it matter which came first, anymore?

what matters is that this woman is not normal. @Op, make sure the right medical attention is sought. If the woman is found to be having a mental issue of a genetic origin, reassess your relationship with her child.
Nobody is thrashing your post,at least not me. Maybe some Nigerians generally believe that mental cases are spiritual not all.
What i failed to understand and was asking was, what is the relationship between falling down and going crazy huh OP have failed to shed more light on this and we are here analyzing the woman as mentally unstable . wow

Phema: @Funkybaby, I'm donating 10k

Ifyalways, please can you hold on to the money while awaiting the re-opening of the portal?
funkybaby: @ifyalways

Thanks for taking out time to meet the OP.

Do you want the money transferred to you and later to the OP once the portal has been reopened or would you rather prefer its paid out to the OP?

@all
Phema has raised a fair point. What happens to the funds if (God forbid) the portal is not opened? Personally, I think the money should remain with a volunteer (not the OP...prefarably ifyalways if she agrees) and if the portal is not reopened, the funds should be returned back to the donors.

@phema
Please how much are you donating so we all can know what's left to raise. Thanks. Hopefully, someone else will be happy to help the OP with the balance. I understand why you want to remain annoymous. I also hate the fact that I'm revealing how much I'm donating but in this case one is left with little or no choice.
I was thinking we could all send to the OP directly so he can monitor the portal and pay as soon as its re-opened. With Phema's concern,no wahala,I am open to keeping the funds for the OP.
God bless you Phema. I'll send you a mail with the address you provided.

@OP,still needs 19,500 ngn. Anyone that wants to donate can do so by sending me a mail via Ifyalways at gmail.

Islam › Re: The Day Of Arafat: Muslims Encouraged to Fast by ifyalways(f): 1:12am On Oct 14, 2013
Deen4me: Tomorrow is the Day of Arafat

The most critical day of Hajj. If missed, cannot be compensated for, which is why the Prophet (pbuh) said, "Hajj is Arafah!"

For those outside of Hajj, it was designated as the greatest single day for fasting in the year.

The Prophet (pbuh) said that one who fasts that day and it is accepted, will have the minor sins of the past year and the coming year erased!!!

Allaahu akbar. May Allah bless us all with its acceptance, those of us on Hajj and those at home.

Let each and everyone of us pray for the entire Muslim Ummah to rid of all the calamity that has befallen us, May Allah release us of the fitnah of the oppressors

We should also pray for our country Nigeria.
@Bolded,where in the Q'uran is that recorded please @ OP ? What are minor sins?

Gaggi: Do u know some people can't even raise 1,000 naira in a month? Even opening a provision store will cost thousands. Who will an abused woman run to when d husband is against her? It even makes her vulnerabe to sexxxual abuse.

I would love to see u women come together and.help a woman raise capital. If people can do it for those ill or.seeking for school fees why not an abused woman?.
It's food for thought.
Do you mean it,Gaggi? LOL
Half of the abused women especially the ones i see on NLD would use the money to prepare better food for the abuser, use the balance change his wardrobe join. cheesy

If and when an abused woman is determined to save her life, leave an abuser, she'll surely get financial help if that is what is REALLY keeping her from doing so.

Besides,I personally focus on the single ladies. I just read a thread where one girl is clearing walking into a bondage all in the name of marriage.she claims the wedding date have been set,the man is cute, takes very good of her but she's ignoring one glaring FACT: the guy is showing traits of an abuser. She is hanging on now probably because of the goodies. There are no short cuts in life.If you hang on to one loser because of the cash then by all means be prepared to chop the slaps that comes with the package.

A woman that have no savings of her own before marriage,no future plans(business, career) is obviously a failure. How was she faring before the man came along? If i had a flourishing business or career pre marriage would it suddenly die because i married ? something i know how hard i toiled to build?I think not undecided
