@Bellong,how far now? Please, were you able to get the PA to the school's VC? Can you get the OP's details via PM and have the PA confirm if he's actually a student ,if he's owing and how much?

I will see the OP soon and also see his student identity card but id card can be "printed/laminated" just by anyone so your own confirmation is the "surest" .

Ujujoan: Maybe if the guy had bought just one loaf of bread for the family while coming, I'm sure the woman would have offered it to him with the tea instead of with chin chin . . . . . grin grin

Most often, in our comfort, we forget that some people don't actually have anything.

That 100 naira might be very difficult for a woman who doesn't work to cough out, especially when the guest was not invited and the husband who invited him had abandoned them.

IMO, the guy was inconsiderate of his hosts. He would have politely turned the bf down since he had already gone to 'arrange' himself; instead of allowing the poor woman to stress over something she probably couldn't help.
LOL
Truly, there are indeed some very bad and stingy guests too.
As a kid,I still remember very mean guests who not only come empty handed when they visit but would still take from us children. eg Them go follow us dey drag biscuit, sweet wey momsie buy us. Ofcourse, when they return again,I try as much as possible to show them that they are not welcome. Some go even come with nothing and wont be ashamed to collect dry fish, crayfish(my grannie was a merchant so we always had enough of those two commodities) when leaving.

Choi cheesy
Politics › Re: Ngige Apologises to Obi Of Onitsha by ifyalways(f): 11:04am On Oct 10, 2013
Reporting live from Onitsha . . .

Truly,I was surprised to hear that Ngige organized a rally yesterday in Onitsha. Mind you,Im his ardent surpporter.
Our Ofala festival is widely announced, even a year before. All major roads(Awka road,Okosi road,Ugwunabankpa, ime ogbe nile) are shut down.
Ofala is our sacred festival and lasts for a whole week. No one is buried, married or any sort of gathering allowed within Ofala week.
Why then did Ngige fall hand ?

Was he mis-informed? Could he have been communicating with a fake palace secretary?

He has just lost some supporters yet again after yesterday's incident.I feel bad but as a titled Igwe nwanyi with complete Odu aka to boot, the gods of our land wont be happy if i vote/align with/support a man that have desecrated our land. A lot of people share same sentiment. I now fear for Ngige's candidacy but i still wish he emerges victorious come November.

As at yesterday night, titled men and women (Igwe nwanyi's,diokpa's,agbalanze, ozo, odu, nne nmo,Onowu etc)have been mandated to inform their kit and kin that anyone found voting, campaigning for Ngige would be ex-communicated. It's that bad. cry

I think there's an error with one of the notions here - a guest staying with friends on a visit should be grateful because s/he would save some cash cos s/he won't pay lodging bills. That's not totally true,at least for me and my folks.

I prefer staying with friends, family when I travel because :
Company : staying alone in hotels can BE very lonely.
Warmth and security
Home made good food, not because I cannot afford to eat out
Catching up, gisting, general gossip.
At the end of the day, chances are that I'll end up spending more than I would have spent if I were alone in a hotel. (Gifts, hanging out etc) and its a pleasure.

However,TRUE friends are always true to themselves. If your "host" is going through tough times, you'll know or notice and won't wait for their "nyash to open" before "supporting" them.

Chin chin and tea episode still cracks me up. How is anyone supposed to eat that? cheesy

Hot Potato: I once went for an interview in Lagos then, and had to stay in my friend's house for 2 nights. The morning of the interview, he left for work very early as usual, only for the wife to come around 10am to ask me if i would take tea with Chin-Chin as breakfast, because she had enough in the fridge. I told her that i don't eat Chin-Chin, and she said ok, that she's going to buy bread for me. I ended up not seeing either the woman or the bread again until i went to tell her by 2pm that i was leaving for the job interview.
@BOLD,for real ? cheesy cheesy cheesy
That woman want make you fail the interview.Which kain wicked combo be dat one? cheesy
Some women are mean. Agege bread N70,milo and milk sachets N100 and breakfast is done.

An invited guest deserve to be well taken care of.Basic food at least. If its not convenient or the family is passing through financial crises then come clean with the guest before his or her arrival - that is what friends are for.

Anyway for me a phone call from my mechanic wondering why I have not visited his workshop in a while gives me so much joy. @OP, you want to create unnecessary drama by involving Mac in this. Debrief is an adult and capable of making her own decisions so I believe her deciding to deactivate her profile her was her choice. I think Mac's an inverted priiick though- personal opinion.

Btw,Are air disasters more terrible, right, wrong, better, worst than every other accidents we get in hundreds daily and why are people not calling for other minister's head?

I hope its not a case of mistaken identity or they're not ritual killers.
So,did you guys check the said friend that wanted to give him notes? Did your brother get there alright? Is the friend from a wealthy family? where could he have been kidnapped? Have you guys asked people within the neighborhood from your place to the friends house?Someone must have seen something?

What type of friends does your brother keep?It could be arranged business,to extort money from you guys.
BTW,the service provider can provide you guys with the location from which the last call was placed.

oladimejiX: as much as possible u could av said some good abt the story rather going off about bloggers and nurses riding cars with tinted glasses
:::::::::::::::
the story clearly states its been fictionalized
so u will do well to encourage instead of negative talking
what is "good" about your story? Who needs the encouragement, blogger or imaginary nurse?

You'll do well to continue your chat with folks that actually "believe" your story. I dislike bloggers like you(if u are the original writer) who use their blogs to portray the country in a negative light. Why sit down and cook up such a lie? Topics to blog about don finish?
