blank: I had it with my first baby. It was so bad that my mum called me aside n asked if the baby was a mistake. I didn't set eyes on my baby until day 3 and it was one of the nurses that said I shld go up n see my baby (he was being treated for jaundice). It was just God n the people around me that helped me thru that phase.
wow
I can imagine if you had the wrong set of people around you.
I think it would be good to have husbands attend ante natals with their wives atleast once a month.

Nne, I've seen a lot of this child helps since I was a kid myself and its all the same. You can smell and point them out from afar. In my days, the few that are sent to school only go to "afternoon" school and even that is useless cos they'll end up sleeping. Who would blame them?they've been working their butts off. Do we talk about their clothing?pure rags. Food nko?no meat or fish or at best rotten ones. Some are made to sleep on the bare floor, not even with a mat, they'll be @ the borehole with cans taller and too big for their age.
I'm talking from what I've seen myself all through my life, I've not seen exception, its all same story. The only exceptions as I said earlier are maids brought in by a relative and/or a maid who is somehow related to the employer.

Nne ututu oma.

Don't fret,he's just acting up cos you intend marrying his sweet sister. He caught the same bug as Pagan9ja though that one goes ballistic when it's Oyibo/AA-Naija union. tongue

@Topic,if this request is genuie and no hidden motives of starting up a WWE,the best and most appriopriate answer you'll get is from your girl,Go ahead and ask her! Why ?
There are no more set, rigid laws when it comes to bridal list and bride prize.Everything is now flexible and the girls dad( immediate family) can decide what to be or not. The community might have their own expectations but the girls dad and uncle weilds the most weight and everything ends at their table.

If you are thinking of marrying this girl someday,it's best you jokingly find a way to ask her how traditional marriages are conducted in her place, how she wants hers to be and what her expectations from her hubby on her t. wedding are. Some brides can be petty and want to milk their man dry just to show off,you know.

Be careful of who you contact or talk to online and especially offline.I assume you are a foreigner, contact your consulate and they'll link you up with your folks living here. There are expat forums too,you can join them and network with your people first, strangers later.
Family › Re: yhtread closed by ifyalways(f):
This is simply the mentality and reality of a Nigerian, living in Naija looking for an underaged househelp. No point glossing over it !
If anyone honestly needs a little girl to really help without any plans of playing out the scenario you've just listed,s/he have family members, friends, church to recommend someone which is most times an orphan from the village, child of a late aunt, child of a widowed poor family friend etc and ofcourse the lil'girl would be treated fine cos if anything goes wrong, the guardian has alot of people to answer to.
If anyone is looking for an underaged househelp in
Naija,he's only looking for a slave.simple

Check out the stats. of reported cases of guardians maltreating and seriously abusing their wards/HH to the extent of inflicting bodily harms on them, they are all cases of wards from home/brought from relatives! Why?one day an aunt/cousin/uncle would visit and either notice that something is wrong or the childs mom would visit and the child would confide in her.
But when it's a strangers lilttle girl, who's gonna notice?who's gonna talk?with our mentality of " who e take consign you,na your biz" etc ? At most a neighbour would create a thread here in Nld to say " help my neighbour is killing her HH" , and nothing else . Do the parents of the lil'kids even know where their wards are ? Some of the kids don't even know where they come from, forget their real family and when they can't endure anymore, run out to the streets and the cycle continues.

You don't do charity and expect something back.If you need a help, employ one and it ends there. You wanna help an orphan, do so without making him or her repay in kind.
debrief08: Ilebato, please do Baby sitters work and sleep in the houses of the people who they work with or do they have defined work hours?
The Children on the farm are they children from the house hold or are they brought by an "agent". The 2 scenerios are in no way comparable to the rot and gross abuse we carry out in Nigeria.
A child wakes up at 5, sweeps, takes care of baby, makes breakfast, walks to a 500 Naira school with no text books, comes home, makes lunch, takes care of the kids, washed clothes, plates, makes dinner, serves oga and madam, can only go to bed when oga and madam and the kids have retired, yet she is not paid, her meals, cheap education, second hand clothes andgent fees are considered payment while the child abroad babysit for 3 hours and is paid by the hour. Oh please

phlame: Yeah just food stuff and she cooks only 2 soup (Egusi and Ogbono) which doesn't even last more than 2days... I eat 2wice daily... I actually confided in a friend 2 know how much he spends in a month and he said less than 25k and he has 2 kids... Can you imagine?
This just rubbished you and your thread ? What sort of men are we seeing these days? Men that would sit and discuss the price of atarodo, kpomo and egusi as oppossed to drawing up biz plans ? God,I thank you for what you've blessed me with.

@OP,where do you stay?Cost of foodstuffs and every other thing varies depending on where you shop even in same city.Perhaps your friends wife buys rotten pepper and tomatoes(cheaper, risky) or goes to the early morning markets to buy directly from the village women who sale at cheap wholesale prizes.
Have you eaten from your friends wife pot?have you seen the quality of soup they make?
Is your friend the type that would give their wives peanuts for feeding the family cos they barely eat from the family pot?he stops by the canteen to eat his fill and spend good money for that?

The only cure and solution is for you to take charge of the kitchen for say 1 month.Buy all the foodstuff and make sure you eat atleast twice per day at home.before you leave the house, count all the fish/meat,mark the yam and hide the bags of rice, beans et all.

If your wife is a hausfrau, what can I say?Suck it up real good baby. cheesy

D sage: @ifyalways,

See madam, it's not just about the kind of course or GPA you had that would guarantee jobs these days. The fact is that, demand is greater than supply ie(more graduates were produced every year with limited or very few available jobs).

You're talking about professional course,I laugh. Do you aware that thousands of people out there has their master degree,ICAN etc and yet still find it difficult to get a job? Whereas I know some people who recently secured a good jobs with HND and B.sc certificate
respective.
oga,I gave him not less than 6 reasons that might have kept him where he is and 6 ways to overcome that.

I didn't pencil it down or claim that getting a short professional course is the solution to his problem. smiley

What makes you think I would want to patronize you?
Perhaps you lot should gather your pathetic selves and get another place for your activities.

When asked a valid question, you lot would ignore it and start attacking me,are you rabid?
Lemme re-pose the questions again:

what is the latest news or infor concerning the suppossed courtcase between NATFORCE and
FG/CUSTOMS ?

which national,local or international newspaper/radio/TV featured,discussed,talked about
this case ?online link?

How can NATFORCE be selling forms when it's still a banned, unrecognized body in Nigeria?

People that would buy this form blindly or stoopidly, pay for uniforms and training fees, where are they gonna work?Republic of Benin ?

Do you have any money in lagos with which you intend to start your importation business now?

Has your wife ever complained or hinted that she's unhappy with your absence?

What's her "medical situation" ?

Depending on your wife's "patience, tolerance level" , and your personal "man ego level", it would be a good idea to go back to lagos, stay with your wife and scout for another job.

You are not earning any money in bayelsa right now so why stay there ?
